Chapter Two
I looked down at the streets below. It was rush hour, a perfect time for picking pockets. I was watching a pair of blond pigtails cover the crowed, moving from one side of the sidewalk to another. I sighed. “She's still too predictable.” I report. Sephi looked at me then looked down at the girl. This girl, Desrie, wanted to join our gang. “You gonna turn her down?” Sephi asked with a chuckle. I rolled my eyes. “What do you think? She's a girl. When I started this gang, I promised to protect all girls that came and asked for help.” I pushed myself away from the wall I was leaning on. “Come on, time to collect and see how well she did.”

We both made our way down to the street and Desrie Joined us in the entrance way to a building. She hadn't done so bad. She was very good at picking pockets, but not so good with a knife, she just didn't have the guts, thus the reason why she wanted to join our group. After a while we all headed back to our home, a run down old building that used to be a school before it was condemned.

I stayed out watching the traffic. It was just starting to get hot, in the middle of the day. I couldn't help but think of him. It had been a week since I had last seen him. I decided that a week was long enough. I wanted to see him again. So I took off, saying that I had some unfinished business.

I wanted to see Yugi for some reason. I felt like something bad was going to happen that day. I thought Yugi might be in danger. But, come to find out, it wasn't Yugi who was in danger. No. It was I.

When Domino High let out that after noon I was on the rooftop across from the high school. I spotted a multi-Colored head weaving its way through the crowd. I couldn't help but smile down at him as he said good-bye to the group. When I had seen him, it was like I had just woken up from a dull class and now the day was finally going to get interesting, with adventure and excitement. I would soon regret those feeling of such wonders.

I followed him across the rooftops. As I followed him I began to get light headed and dizzy, but I still kept an eye on him. Finally he stopped at what looked like a game or card shop. He pulled open the door and I could hear a bell ding from all the way across the street. I collapsed against a wall, always keeping an eye on that swaying door. Then, when he didn't come out I stood up shakily and started down the gutter with a dry mouth and shaking hands. When I had reached the tilting sidewalk I flipped my hood up over my head and made a few dizzy steps towards the street. I made as if to cross it but instead passed out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I woke up I was in a small damp room with barely enough room to stretch. In the room there was a small window where I could glimpse a small bonsai tree. I could hear voices out side the room. My thief instincts took over and I lay quietly, taking deep breaths to make it look as if I was still sleeping on the cold floor. I concentrated on the voices. I could barely make out what they are saying but I got the gist of the conversation.
“I say we kill the Boy. He is no use to us seeing as how the Millennium Rod won't work on him."
“Nonsense, Bakura. Then we would be back to square one."
“But why won't the rod work on him, Marik?"
“We have already gone over this. His mind is to powerful to even look into, let alone control him."
“Then what about when you put him to sleep? Don't tell me you didn't do that!"
“Well, I guess it was a side affect to my trying to use the rod on him"
"Then you don't know when he'll wake up?!?! He could be up right now! He could have gotten away!"
“Don't worry Bakura, I locked his room. Do you want to see him? I can assure you he is still there."
And with those words I heard a lock click. I opened my eyes wide enough to make out a blurry outline of my kidnappers. This Marik and Bakura guy entered through the wide open door.
I could barely make them out. I knew that they still thought I was a guy but what was this millennium rod thingy that didn't work on me? And what did this Marik guy mean when he said my mind was too powerful? What was going on? Why had they even kidnapped me in the first place? Were they going to kill me? Where in the world was I?
I decide to jump up and run for the door while it was still open. Just when these mysterious figures turned to exit I jumped up and ran for the door before anybody could blink. But that wasn't fast enough.
Before I could get a few steps towards the door I was immediately immobilized. "So! You thought you could just get away while our backs were turned. Well let me tell you something kid you have a lot to learn. Now, tell us your name and we won't torture you... much.” the guy with the white hair said. I saw him smirk evilly and I shuddered. This guy was making my thief senses go hey-wire .I knew this guy was bad trouble. But at the same time I felt as if I should bow before him. Being a thief I respected this instinct and made a deep bow towards the guy. " Sir I would give you my name but I require a name with which to address you by." I said suddenly. I felt as though somebody else said those words and made me bow, as though I were watching from the sidelines. The guy was as taken aback by my sudden turn about that he takes a few steps back and eyed me warily. “You may call me Bakura. I saw him smile through my bangs while I was still in a bowing position. I tried to stand up but was interrupted with a hand on my back forcing me back down on my knees. "Oh no, stay down. I rather like the back of your head more than your face." he said with evil amusement in his voice. "Oh mighty one, my name is Sirus." I replied, somebody else still controlling me. I tried to regain control of my body thinking, I don't bow to any body! Let alone a kidnapper! But my body was still out of my control. Bakura turned towards Marik. "Marik! I wish to gather more information from our.... loyal subject." he said with a laugh "Leave him here with me!" "Very well Bakura. Just don't damage anything that may be useful to us later." scowling Marik left the room.As he exited a part of the shadows detached itself and followed him out he door and down the hallway. That guy had been watching me the whole time!
"Now that we are alone, I wish to ask you some questions. I suggest you answer truthfully, other wise...well who knows what may happen." Before I knew it he grabbed a hold of my hair and dragged me to my feet. I had finally been able to gain control over my body by then, and as Bakura dragged me to my feet I quietly grab the extra knife from my boot seeing as how the knife holder at my hip was empty. Damn them! That was my favorite, special knife, the one with silver and copper.
.
As he tilted my face up so my throat was then exposed I brought up the knife to slash his face. He saw the movement and dodged. He reached for my knife. I slashed at him. I slashed and slashed and slashed. My knife was dripping red and Bakura's face, arms, and clothes had various cuts. But Bakura was laughing. As he laughed he reached up and grabbed the knife. By the blade. He squeezed the blade so that his blood ran freely, making a puddle underfoot. He yanked the knife out of my hands. Then laughing and still looking at me, he began to lick the knife clean.
I looked away from the gruesome sight. "HA! Can't Stomach it girl?" he asked. I look up at him with terror and fear in my eyes. He smiled at me, with a ring of his blood around his mouth. "That's right! I know you're a girl. I know what you are! Abomination! Traitor! I recognized your presence as soon as that slime ball Marik dragged you in! I will control you and the destiny you posses, giver and taker of souls! Now all I need is your name with which to control you by." He said while looking at me. "And I am going to get you to tell me, one way or another!" And with that he brought the knife up and started towards me.
He lunged and was just about to stab my arm when I was knocked flying by a man with a black ponytail and some sort of weird tattoos on his face. "ODION!!! Why do you interrupt us?! You swine headed bast..." Then I noticed that another Shadow had appeared in the doorway behind Odion "Because I told him too Bakura. What did I say about not harming him?" Marik says explosively. As Marik says this he reached behind his back and pulled out a stick with a weird golden ball on top of it. It had the same eye as Yugi's Puzzle!! Bakura, when he sees what Marik has in his hand, just laughed and grabbed a necklace that had suddenly appeared around his neck. It too had the same eye and looked a bit like a dream catcher only instead of a hole in the middle; a flat triangle with the mentioned eye was in its place.
"So! You wanna make this a shadow game?!?!" and with that he laughs, throwing his head back. Then he brung his head down and suddenly an intricate web of blue colored light surrounded Marik. I knew that if Marik touched those beams something bad would have happen. I knew all of this as if I had a sixth sense I never, until this moment knew about.
Marik was forced to stand still; I could see the sweat on his forehead as he glared at Bakura. "Remember Marik I have more experience than you, five thousand years worth!! I suggest you tread carefully around me, other wise you just might find yourself in the shadow realms!!" and with that Bakura walked toward Marik, glared at him, gave me an evil smile and left the room. Marik was obviously angry at Bakura and his threat to banish Marik to this Shadow realm. Seething he stared at the retreating Bakura's back until he was out of sight. Then He turned to me still angry.” Well boy I would like you to meet your new body guard, my brother Odion. He will watch you 24/7 and never let you out of his sight unless I say so. He will bring you your food, water, and other necessities. YOU will stay locked in here unless I order you. Oh and I wouldn't try escaping. Odion can be very deadly and he is ordered to kill you if you so much as break a sweat. Pleasant dreams boy!" He snapped out, and then, laughing, he exited the room.
I stared at Odion and he stared back. After a few minutes I went over to the window and looked out at the bonsai tree. I could probably have gotten out if there was only one set of bars. Of course the window had bars inside and out side. I sighed quietly and sat down on the floor, my back to the wall with the window shinning the last rays of sun light into the room, making everything appear like the room was painted with the blood Bakura spilt. I stared at the fading sunlight and spilt blood until the sun light was gone leaving the room dark. Then I fell asleep leaving my body on the floor of the room. And while I sleptI didn't notice Odion quietly placing a small pillow under my head and a blanket on top of me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was so dark. There was nothing, absolutely nothing. Then, all of a sudden, something appeared. I saw a glint of something silver. Something silver with a golden bronze…almost…copper.

Bakura had my knife. He brandished it towards me and laughed "I'm gonna get you to tell me one way or another girl!" he said. And with that he came towards me. I tried to run, but I was tied down, unable to move. My hands and feet are suddenly pulled out straight so that I was lying on my back spread eagle. Bakura menacingly placed the knife on my toe. He smiles at me and begins to press down on the knife. Then he started to walk, leaving a thin trail of scarlet blood up my foot, up my calves, past my knee, and starting on my thigh. I couldn't talk. I couldn't scream. I could do nothing but stare as he cuts my body. "You can't torture her when she is awake, so you torture her when she is asleep?" a voice from the shadows said Bakura looked up in surprise and anger "Ryou!! What are you doing here?!" "Saving her." the other voice says simply. And with that the mysterious person steps out of the shadows. This person is.... ANOTHER BAKURA?!?!?

As soon as this new Bakura had appeared, the Evil one with my knife left. I was suddenly set free from my unseen bonds. I sat up and rubbed the blood away that had been dribbling down my leg.

I stared at the new Bakura. He looked exactly like the other one, the
one that was torturing me. Only instead of madness in his eyes, it's just the friendly lovable feelings coming through, not the evil sick and twisted feeling pouring out of the other Bakuras eyes.” Who are you?" I ask with a slight edge to my voice. I have already learned about the evil ways and tricks of Bakura. This might be one of them. He looks at me. "My name is Ryou Bakura. Most people call me Bakura but you may call me Ryou. And what, may I ask, is your name?" He asked with an innocent air about him. But I wasn't fooled for one second. "HA! Like I'm gonna tell YOU!" I jeered at him. Ryou takes on an injured appearance. " What can I do that will convince you that I am not like my other half?" Ryou said with pleading and hurt mingling in those clear brown eyes. *I can read him like an open book* I thought in surprise

He is nothing like the Bakura who was outside of this weird place. The other one was so secretive, like he made a living of keeping secrets. This one, he has an honest and trusting face. Maybe he trusts too much. Or maybe this is another trap.

I looked around at the place that he had taken me to. It was like there was absolutely nothing. Nothing but Bakura and me. The rest of this emptiness was filled with a sort of fog, a bluish purplish fog that could not be felt. Looking down, I felt my stomach drop at the sight of my feet on nothing. I looked up at Ryou. Then I thought, you know, he just might be of some use. “You can prove that you aren't evil by answering my questions." I stated looking at him for any thing unusual such as a slight hesitation or any sign of unwillingness. But I just saw him nod his head enthusiastically. "Okay fine with me. What are your questions?" He asked me.

The first question that entered my mind was out before I could rein it back in. "Where are we?” I asked. Ryou looked around "We are between your mind and my ring." he said. "How is that possible?" I asked. “I don't know." Ryou said with a shake of his head. "Okay, why did Marik and the evil you kidnap me?" "Because you were able to do what nobody else has ever done. You were able to steal the Millennium Puzzle." "So? What does that have to do with me?" "Everything. Marik wants you to steal the puzzle and then he will battle you for it, making the power of the puzzle his own. Then Bakura will take the puzzle and will steal the other Items." He said this with a worried expression on his face. “I see.” I said skeptically, raising an eyebrow.

”Marik said that I had too powerful a mind for the Millennium Rod to work on. What is the rod and what are these `Items' you keep mentioning?" I asked with my arms crossed. "The millennium Items are 7 Mysterious items that come from, and date back to, ancient Egypt. Nobody knows why these items were made or who made them. All that we know is that each has a different special ability. They are all able to open a new dimension called the shadow realm, a realm that has been forgotten for 5000 years. They also have the ability to trap a person in that realm

The 7 Items are 1, the millennium key. This key has the ability to look into your soul. It can also unlock any door, including your mind. Item 2, is the scale. This is a very little known item. It has the power to weigh your heart and to discover the evil secrets you keep hidden, even from yourself. The third item is the necklace. This necklace can tell the past, the present, and that which has not yet come to pass. The 4th item is the eye. The eye has the ability to read minds and seal souls of people into inanimate objects. The 5th item is the rod. The rod has the ability to control people's minds and freewill. The sixth item is the ring.” and with that Ryou pulled out the dream catcher thingy I saw before. He looked down at it and while doing so he continues. "This is the ring. Long ago an evil spirit was somehow trapped inside this Item. It has the power to sense evil and to locate the other items. And finally the last and most mysterious Item is the Puzzle. A spirit was also trapped inside that item as well. The puzzle has the ability to rid a person of all evil. It can also do many other things, though nobody knows the true extent of its power. And those, Sirus, are the Millennium Items." Ryou said looking at me. I tried to remember all of that information.
