Yu Yu Hakusho Fan Fiction ❯ Eve Of Storms ❯ Storm's End ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
The sky was a sickly green color, gray clouds billowed across the blackened sky like smoke and the rain began to fall heavily. Lightning flared through the sky, lighting the horizon in a white hot light. Hail pounded against the trees and against Hiei's small form as he ran through the woods, rain coming down in continuous sheets. The howling winds were fierce and chill, they nipped at Hiei's sensitive skin already chilled by the cold of the rain. CRACK !!!!!!! Lightning shot through the sky like the trigger being pulled on a gun, making Hiei jump. As he continued on, his keen hearing picked up the sound of nearby car alarms, blaring into the night sky, every car in the city. He struggled to se past the blinding rain thatr showered mercilessly down, stinging the fire demon's eyes as he ran. Another crack and another bolt shot across the sky, signaling the fall of yet another tree. As he passed over a long wooden bridge leading to a path into the city, all that became audible was the rushing river below threatening to drown all that was misfourtunate enough to fall in.
A crack sounded and Hiei felt the bridge giving way under his feet as the wooden support beams were cracked and splintered by the forceful waves. The demon jumped, barely clinging onto the edge of the land as the wooden boards fell into the river below him and his body slammed against the rocky wall of land, scarring his knee and tearing parts of his cloak. He clawed at the land in an effort to get himself to safety in which he succeeded in, and he lay there panting. A wave of relief came over Hiei as the thunder quieted and the rain eased up, he smiled triumphantly. The fierce storm was ending. Lightning continued to shoot through the sky, and thunder rumbled quietly, but the worst part was over. His left leg throbbed in pain, but he ignored it as he used a tree to support himself, then began the long, ardous journey into the city.
