Not bad. I dug it. This story seemed rather reminiscent of 'Pay It Forward', principle-wise. I liked the concept of a free-will project for JHS students in Chapter 1 and, honestly, I came out of the story with a little more insight into what free will was and how much of an affect peer pressure has on it. Aunt Mary's example of free-will was as simplistic to me as is was complex. Nice job. (I'm now craving peppermints, dagnabbit! I kid, I kid...) The concept of a person being resigned to Fate by Grandpa Moses in Chapter 2 was interesting; made me scratch my chin there...for a while, actually. Though rather pessimistic in concept, I can see many thinking just that way. I honestly almost assumed that you were gonna write that Andy would stand up for Tarah when his buddies took the journal; seeing him give into the pressure to act jerky towards her was very conducive with the tale (though mean--but for the good of the story, it made sense). I liked how you made him struggle with his feelings on free will and peer pressure in chapter 4 (his inner ramblings and recriminations). And (whoo hoo!) he finally talks to Mari! Yayz! And the way you ended the story in giving him his own sense of individuality and inner strength--the power to chose where his life leads him and, more importantly, WHO he lets lead him, worked well for him and Tarah as well. Nice use of $20 words, by the way! I guess the only question I had was which season was it? It seemed like summer to start, then fall or winter. That's all I can think to say, RisanF. Just a warning, RisanF...I'm kind of a slow reader, though, so please be patient. I read slow, mostly to get the plot and remember it's niches and nuances as the story moves along. I'll review when I'm done and post on the forum, as well! For some reason, even though I'm logged on, I couldn't put up my username.

Wow...what can I say? You posted some of the chapters on our message board (TinT), but I couldn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t wait to read the rest of it...so I came here. Your story is amazing. I loved it so much. I usually don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t read a lot of original fiction...but man I would read them more if they were all like yours. I would love if you could continue this...or write more original drama/romance stories. You really rock!! Keep up the awesome work.

You're story kicks much ass, I am very impressed, and was entirely let down when it ended... I hate stories where you get in with the characters and then it's over, but it is the sign of a good story. I'm glad I found it early on, so I can say I was here first, I imagine there will be more. Soon. It's damn good, I'm gonna hunt down the rest now. -K
