very good ending. i loved the way inuyasha killed nobunaga. *snickers* i will be sad to see you go, but i will look for books by you. I do understand your sentiments, though, for I do not plan to write fanfiction for the rest of my life either. ;D I am working on my BA in English with a minor in professional writing. One day, our books may be side by side on the shelves. lol. for now, i will continue to read/write and hone my abilities and help others. I eagerly await the epilogue. Much love, FL

Heheh, I read it again. You put a lot of work into this. The pace at which you've cranked out chapters is amazing. One thing stands out in this story. You've been realistic in not succumbing to magically healing Sesshoumaru of his trauma. I like that. I still get confused on the timelines, but that is a small matter. I may have mentioned this before, but you remind me of Nora Roberts because you write in the pattern that each character behaves. Kagome's thoughts, actions, and words are all Kagome. You do a great job on her, too. It's the same with all of the other characters. You did a great Kouga. I was surprised. Inuyasha is so difficult to write because he has so many extremes. He appears to be brash and rude, and sometimes that is all an author will focus on. You didn't. He has his moments of caring, of praising the others, of comforting, and of bolstering confidence and self-esteem. I like that you blended that into the story. You also matured him to a degree. The mental/emotional bond he shared with Kagome was amazing and I liked that a lot. Sesshoumaru can be difficult or easy to write. Getting his language down and the nuances in it is what is hard. I found it difficult to picture him speaking endearments, but other than that, you did him justice. He is such a wildcard that he can be made into a strategist (which according to RT, he isn't), or into a total goofball. You've made him real. Like RT, you've allowed his inflated ego to lead him into disaster. He didn't plan strategically. He behaved exactly as he had with Naraku. Act first, ask questions later. He kept his thoughts to himself and only spoke when absolutely necessary. I really liked that he didn't say a word to Iku the first day that he went to the dungeon for revenge, and I was impressed when you showed that revenge wouldn't wipe out the effects of the past. As for Rin and Shippou; I don't care what anyone else has said, it was very cute. You used them well in the plot, especially the episode where Sesshoumaru found them together. By the way, Sesshoumaru's inability to balance his emotions was an excellent play. I'm sure we all love Uchuu and Shin. Uchuu is like an amalgam of Inuyasha, Kouga, and Miroku. Shin is very different. He's like a prejudiced human that is forced to live in another man's shoes, not very pretty on the inside. However, he was intelligent enough to make his choices quickly. I'm sure he's wickedly beautiful on the outside. You really made me hate Oda Nobunaga. Creepy guy full of delusions of grandeur that came true. Miroku's and Sango's personalities were in keeping with canon. I liked Sango's devotion to Inuyasha's leadership, and I can understand Miroku's decision concerning having children and taking in orphans. You even found little ways to use Kilala that individualized her and contributed to the unfolding of events. I didn't like Hyuuga too much, but he was necessary, and I liked how you used him to get Yumiko and Saburo together. Yumiko is a great character. A strong individual, yet feminine. I'm running out of space here. I like all of your characters and how you used them, including Saya and Sumiho and her 'sisters'. Asuza and Iku just make me want to throw up, so, heh, you did a great job there as well. I particularly liked the bonding in the dungeon between all three prisoners and Kagome's search for the identity of her silent youkai. The events at the meeting in Yokaishi were great. It was eventful, forwarded the plot and added Kouga to the mix. I loved the effect that had on Sesshoumaru. LOL Great job bringing Kouga in like that. Well, I could spend all day, but I'm running out of space. ^_^ I look forward to your upcoming chapter. I'm musing about whether or not you're going to bring Hyuuga to the wedding. LOL That wouldn't go over well, but then, I would want Uchuu to be there. Heh, he might have to fight Hyuuga about that one. ^_^ Snow

So sorry I haven't reviewed! Wow, I expected Iku to get a lot more punishment, but what a way to die. Ouch. I loved how you had Kagome make her entrance into Sesshoumaru's world, having her demonstrate her powers. Whew! Sesshoumaru made quite a display. That was one hot kiss. I love the way you've portrayed Rin in this story. Oooh. Has Shin found his lady love? Seven kids is a lot for Sango to take on. She has her work cut out for her. Great first reaction. Miroku is so happy. That is sweet. Inuyasha was too cute when he was asking Kagome for advice. There are so many things to comment on and my head is a bit fuzzy, but you know how much I like this story. It's all good. I noticed quite a few errors in the last chapter. Considering the lack of author notes, I assume that you weren't able to get the chapter beta'd. I hope everything is okay between you and your beta's. Anyway, I look forward to the next chapter. ^_^ Snow

!! Excellent chapter(s)! Many fangirl squealing moments and some laugh out loud lines (aka Inuyasha's request for, ahem, instruction). And I loved Kagome's display of power - so anti-heroine-in-distress, I could have cheered for her! But most poignant is that fact that blood cannot be erased by blood - Iku would have been a threat if he had lived, but torturing and killing him does not exorcise the demons of the past, as the keystone to PTSD therapy is not "eye for an eye," but some combination of acceptance and moving on. (I'm not sure if the keystone is actually mind-blowing sex, but hey, can't hurt right?) I'm a little sad this story is coming to an end - I've been reading this for over a year now! But I'll look forward to the final chapter, and eagerly await your next work!

Yeah, there's really no need to explain my reasoning, since it's an all around great story. I can't wait until the next chapter!

Uh, I got half way through the "Hope" chapter and was reading about Sess thinking about her city of metal and started thinking "uh, where did I miss that convo?" Then I realized you posted a double chapter. Oops! I had to go back and I'm glad I did. Sess should be ashamed of himself, laughing at Inu's weirginity! Yeah it was funny but poor Inu...trying to learn how to please a woman and Kagome trying to explain it to him "from her own experience" was both endearing and hilarious. I'm surprised Sess kept his composure when they got back. People are so quick to portray Inu as an simple idiot who ends up with nothing but he had a rough life and deserves happiness too so thank you for seeing to it. The story of her future self made Sess appreciate her all the more and that was very touching. I'm glad Sess allowed Shippo to come along, even though he knows Sess will probably ride him like a race horse over cute little Rin and you gotta write another story for your Shin and Uchuu. Those are among the best OCs I've read. Now the "Hope" chapter - the parade to the citadel was so tense it made ME tense up. Rin's mind was finally open to the fact that she wasn't liked but in a child's mind you don't see the hate - you only do when you get older and I love Shin and Shippo ready to jump to her defense. Sess declaring his love for his woman and kissing her in front of everybody was unexpected and mildblowing and thank you for putting Yuudai in his place - the fuckhead! I was so glad to see Chickenboy get chewed up by the rat and get his in the end because I hate him so much. However, even I felt a twinge of sadness for him because he got the way he did at the hands of someone else. Corruption breeds hate and he suffered just like Sess did but he chose to make others suffer to strengthen himself. Your portrayal of Sess as a victim is breathtaking. He understood (and rightfully so) that you can't find satisfaction and peace in revenge. It would have been wrong to have him happy and satisfied and getting on with his life like it was nothing. It made the whole thing realistic and other writers should learn how to properly write a story about rape instead of glorifying it. The scars won't heal but with Kagome, he'll learn to forge onward and live with it. All in all, I hate to see the end coming but I hope you allow Kagome to at least visit the village over the years until they all meet up in the modern era. Geeze I could feel her pain at losing her family beyond the well so I hope there's a reunion there. Thank you for this beautifully written story. Peace out!

aww!! our boys are so protective of their women. :D i was cracking up when Iku got it in the 'nads. sorry, but that was funny to me. he deserved that for raping our beloved dog demon! D: maybe, if that was the punishment, then there might be a lot less of that kind of mess today. *shrugs* who knows. i eager for the wedding and epilogue! can't wait for it!!

I was so glad Iku got it! Man I really loved this story. I love the way everyone came together in the battle scenes. Your OC's were slamming! All were good, but Uchuu and Shin were my favorite of all. Wonderful Cast!! Wonderful!!!

Oh, I quite enjoyed this chapter!! I've been reading all along (I think this might actually be the first time I've commented.... O_o Sorry 'bout that) and I really enjoy the way you write the characters. (Plus, I have a weakness for seeing strong characters reduced to weakness... ^^; ) Anyway. Fantastic writing style, I love the way you write monologue and all of their speech and everything is just wonderful. I can't wait to see the next chapter. ^_^

Alright, way to go Kagome! What a display of power. As for Iku, I can see that vengeance is not always sweet. Perhaps that is why is it reserved for God. I don't know how a man would cope with rape. I think it would be particularly difficult for a heterosexual male to do so. If one had amazing powers, the temptation to use them to get back at the perpetrator would be irresistible. However, as you describe, perhaps it would leave one empty of satisfaction. You give the reader a lot to think about.

OMG Inuyasha asking for advice from Kagome, including sexual, was so precious. I am glad Sesshoumaru has agreed to allow Shippo to accompany Kagome and that he has agreed to train Shin.

Kagome certainly took Sesshoumaru to the upper limit of his patience during their intimacy. She was a little sadistic there IMHO. Perhaps even she got carried away with control. Sango didn't have much choice on accepting the 7 orphans with the entire town and her friends looking on, did she? However, Miroku has a good point about wondering if they have been blessed or cursed by the red dust they inhaled. He is the wise one. I think Iku was getting only a small part (tee hee) of what he deserves. Although I understand that he was mistreated in the past. At some point the pattern of abuse must end. He felt what was done to him was so wrong, yet he did the same to others and took great pleasure in doing so.

Great chapters! I've had to do that as well - dividing my chapters into two - but it was more because some of the places I upload can't handle so much data. Anyhow, I really liked how Kagome and Sesshoumaru handled their arrival at the citadel. Is there a possible romance brewing for Shin and Nana? I can't wait to hear about some of Shin's training with Sesshoumaru. And brave little Shippou... At the end of chapter 38, I actually thought for a second that Sesshoumaru was going to let Iku live. But then, of course, he would always wonder if Iku was planning on revenge. It was better this way. How sad - almost over! But at least pretty much everyone is getting their happy ending. I do wish that the well would work again. How sad. I'd be devastated if I couldn't see my mom again. Anyhow, great job on this. Happy writing!

talk about shutting somebody up. kagome did when she showed that she was just another weak human. as for iku, i think he got what he deserved and then some. although i cringed when i read about his balls being burned by poison. i am girl and i still cringed. update soon. i am curious about inuyasha asking saya to be his mate. i want to know if he takes kagome's advice about how to touch a woman, and if he takes her to the stream that kagome mentioned.
