Hmmmm, I don't know you but I'm gonna guess it's Sephiroth. That just sounds so like him once he dies in the lifestream or something. I always thought of Sephy as a good guy being manipulated. At least that's what I always HOPED. But anyway, I hope you continue, I want to know who you were talking about.
