How to change password without email access

Hey root you there? This isn't a problem I personally have, but I'm aware of more than one person who no longer has access to the email address associated with their MM account, and cannot remember their MM password, and of course cannot reset their password because that link goes to their old email which they no longer have. Is there a way around this problem?

    I have the same question. Turns out my god-awful old fanfiction got reviews after I abandoned it; I figure the least I can do is say thanks and mark the WIP abandoned or something. With no access to the original email (it’s been at least twenty years
