I can't believe you hate this pic. I'm a huge Hiei fan and I've tried to draw Hiei myself but he also comes out bad, for some reason I can't do his eyes right. I've seen a lot of pics of Hiei on here, and I think your pic is one of the best I've seen so far. Keep up the good work.

don't think that. i am a straight up hiei fan and that was one of the best hiei pics i've ever seen that wasn't traced. on word "BEAUTIFUL"(^_~)

I think it's very good, but the position I've seen over-used a lot. You have very good skill and the shading is extremely well done. I don't get why you don't like the background, though. Keep up the good work.

I'm actually rather surprised you dislike this picture so much. It is actually a good use of midtones. You did a very sucessfull job of conveying the image without the over use of lines. I suspect if you went over it with a black marker or even a charchol pencil you could darken it out to be a propper black, but really the lighter midtone does convey the brighter tones very well without losing the integrity of the composition.
