Messing with Heat Ch16: Girlfriend of a Prince

A/N: Wow, Halloween is over. I love scaring people, so I'll miss it! XD And where I live, the tv doesn't show any good scary movies anymore. All it showed last night was Night of the Living Dead, over and over again. Seriously, why can't they show any of the originals? All this new stuff is so gorey and grosses me out. (Shudders)

Anyway, hope you guys had an awesome time! My friends and I all had a little get together, and ended up going on the back of one of my guy friends truck, and he drove us to the cemetary late at night. I swore I saw a red light by some grave or something, but nobody believes me. Oh well, I'd love to hear what ya'll did! Let me know in a review or something, for I love to see what other normal people do on holdiays. :)

And then, also, last night I had to go to a haunted house. You know those things when people dress up some house, and people pay maybe a dollar to go around inside? And some people will dress up scary and scare the people? Guess what I did. I had to stand in front of the line, practically frowning the whole time, just to collect everyone's money. My mom helped so much with decorating it, and I wanted to go through it soooo bad. However, the guy in charge told me to collect the money so I did it. In the end, I did get to go through it and it was freaky!!! I almost peed my pants!!! LOL jk

Yeah, well let me know what ya'll did for I have no life yadda yadda, blablabla. Uh, here's the chapter! ;D

YOUR POV

When you woke up, you had a feeling that you were going to be looking up at the dreaded Princess, and would be seeing her awful smirk, as she lowered a flame to your head. However, when you opened your eyes, you were looking at someone back.

Someone wearing green.

"Ugh," You made a weird noise as you sat up straigher, realizing, you were on an ostrich-horse. Your hands were loosely wrapped around the persons thin waist, and your head picked off their upper back. Feeling with your hands, you found the person had some abs, which made you blush.

"Good, you're awake." Zuko said, obviously relieved. Your eyes widened at this, not seeing anymore of his long, black hair. All he had was an army looking cut, which you were grossed out by. You liked him better with the shaggy look, even the topknot was better than this! "I thought she hurt you."

"Who?" You couldn't even think right now, and when Zuko said she, you had no idea who he was talking about. Everything suddenly dawned on you. "Oh, you mean Azula."

"Yeah."

"You are very lucky Zuko got to you before his sister reached the ships door," Iroh said, behind you. Looking over your shoulder, to your shock, you saw he was on some kind of wagon thing. He didn't mind though, with a girn on his face, and his eyes looking so gentle. "I thought you were in serious trouble."

You looked up at Zuko, feeling a wave of gratitude wash through your mind. He was sitting up straight, as if he didn't even know you were staring at him. "Thanks, Zuko."

Startled by the gesture, he fumbled for words. You grinned when you knew the Prince was blushing, and that boosted your ego. "Uh, anytime. Do you seriously think anyone would've let someone else be taken away by my sister?" He shivered from the thought, and you knew he was trying to be all macho.

Laying your head on his back, you inhaled deeply. Your hands tightened around his waist, loving the feeling of how his back felt with you pressed up against it. Your heart was beating so fast, from the nerves inside of you. But you ignored them, enjoying the sweet moment.

"So you have met my niece, Azula." Iroh said, cheerfully. "Isn't she a charming lady?"

"Uncle, don't kid yourself. I know you are going to say since she is my sister that we should work together, but I need to stop her so I can get the Avatar." Zuko said.

You were shocked to hear Iroh scoff, "No, that girl is crazy and needs to go down. I can help you learn more techniques if you want."

You couldn't help but laugh aloud, agreeing with Iroh more than ever. Zuko said nothing when you stopped, quietly breathing in the silence around you two.

"Uncle, we need to get back to the ship. Zhao might beat us to the Northern Water Tribe if we don't." Zuko said flatly, and you stiffened.

"Wait, so you guys have never met pirates yet?"

Zuko was so confused, he gave you a crazed look over his shoulder. "We did, earlier. Uncle wanted to-"

"I wanted to stop by the markets since I thought I lost my locus tile, and my nephew here had a huge tanterum over the cause. We ran into pirates in the market, and they are very greedy. We almost had the boy-"

"Avatar in our hands." Zuko cut in, annoyed. "Uncle, let me tell my own story, alright? They would rather turn in the Avatar than that water tribe peasants stupid scroll. Those idiots are so filled with greed it's not even funny."

"So, what's going to happen now?"

"The Avatar is most likely going to learn water bending right now," Zuko said, "so we're going to search for him near the Northen Water Tribe."

Oh, great, the siege part.

"How do you know?"

"He and that girl need to learn waterbending," You wondered why he spoke Katara's name with such disgust, and hatred. She actually did nothing to him! "That's where a Master will be, and they want to master their element. Especially that peasant."

"Am I still a prisoner?" You asked, curiously.

Zuko stiffened, thinking it over. He said nothing for a few moments, and you leaned back to sigh. Great, you hated being a prisoner with Zuko. He was rude when he was telling you to do something, and you wanted to just be an ally or whatever.

"No, you can go if you wish." He said, in a tight, strained whisper. Hurt was apparent in his voice, and he seemed to slow the animal down to a slow walk. You looked down on the ground, but didn't budge.

"Who says I want to go?"

He looked behind, bewildered again. "What? Are you saying you want to stay?"

Smiling, you nodded. "Yeah, I have nowhere else to go. Might as well help you guys out, since I'm so talented and such."

He smiled smally from your sarcastic comment, however, looked truly happy now. "We will need that talent."

"Hey kids, the talent I need is somewhere to stop," Iroh cut in, groaning. "These bumps are making me sick, and my stomach is growling. Zuko, we need to stop somewhere to eat or find the ship faster."

"I'm not a kid, Uncle." Zuko growled, but made the animal trot now. You instantly had your arms around Zukos waist again, and held on for dear life. He never complained though, which you liked deep down. "Just shut up and hold on. We need to get back to the ship as soon as possible."

Holding on tight, you closed your eyes as Zuko kicked the animal into a fast sprint.

It was the ride of your life.

BACK ON THE SHIP

Zuko was gone as you walked down the ship, watching the moon overhead. Your eyes watched the palness of the surface, and you wondered if the moon here was any different than the one back home.

Your thoughts were so confused right now, your head was burning. What was happening? Almost nothing here was happening in the order of the show. You really shouldn't be worrying about that, and should just focus on helping Zuko whenever he needed it. But you couldn't help but wonder why everything was so different. Trying to get that thought out of your head, you turned around to go back inside.

Walking through the ship was so different now, since you didn't need Zuko to lead you anywhere anymore. Your mind wandered again as you found your room, shutting your door behind you silently.

You were too busy to notice the figure in front of the window, looking at you.

"Hey," You jumped when you saw Zuko laying on your cot, looking like he was thinking. His eyes were on you, and they held so much emotion, you shrank from the sight. It was like he was staring at you with everything he felt.

"Hey," You said, not certain what else to say.

"I needed somewhere to think, and my mind led me here for some reason." He murmured, and you awkwardly stood by the doorway. His face was looking in your direction, and since the candles were not lit, he looked quite eere in the dark. All you could see was his dark form leaning on you bed, hands propped above his head in a rather lazy manner.

"You can, uh, come here whenever you want." You said, shrugging. You acted like you were interested outside, and looked out the window, seeing the moon once again.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Zuko said aloud, in a soft tone of voice.

"Yes, it is." You said, smiling a little.

"I used to be so fascinated by the moon when I was little," He said, "and used to stay up late when my mom told me to go to bed, just to find it. Sometimes I would fine it, and sometimes, it would be hidden behind some thick clouds. But when I did find it, I would watch it for hours, thinking what it was made of."

"Maybe cheese." You said, shrugging.

Surprisingly, Zuko burst out laughing, a real laugh. Turning around to look at him, you saw his dark form shaking from the bubbling laughter. He sounded happy right now, which made you feel even closer to the Prince.

"I never thought of that," He said, his laughted dying to your dismay, "people might have to consider that."

Your eyes softened for a bit as a silence took over both of you, and the air went in from the open window, causing you to shiver a little. Zuko sat up, opening his arms for some reason.

"Here, come lay down," He cooed, "you must be cold."

"No, I'm fine."

"Just come to the bed."

"I'm fine."

"Please?"

When he said the p word, you smiled to yourself, and crawled on the bed. He reached for you with his arms, as if seeking for your body. Nuzzling his hand like a cat, you gathered yourself in his lap and he quickly hugged you to him from behind. He lowered his body down on the bed, and he buried his head in your neck from behind.

"I like this better than standing," You muttered lazily, laying your hand on his, for his was wrapped tightly around your waist.

"Mmmhhhhh, me, too." He whispered in your ear, and you shivered from the feeling. His warm breath tickled your ear from behind, and you let out a girly giggle.

"What's so funny?" He asked.

"That just felt weird."

"What felt weird?"

"Your breath?"

"How bout this?" You laughed out loud when Zuko started tickling you on the side, making you sit up. His other hand held you down as he tickled you without any mercy.

"Please- mercy!" You choked out from the laughter, with a smile on your face.

"People who ask for mercy usually don't get it," He teased, and you fell back on your back. He quickly straddled you and held your hands over your head, now tickling you under your arms. You squirmed under his assults, and he started laughing evilly along with you. His golden eyes seemed to glow from the dark, and you got lost in them, your laughter stopping.

His face washed away the playfulness, and his hands stopped tickling you. His eyes softened to a tender look as he leaned towards you, capturing you in a gentle kiss. He kissed you silently, so gentle, it was like a ghost kissing you. His lips were soft on yours as he moved his heavenly hands to run through your hair, and you smiled from the feeling.

"Your hair is," He said, "nice." He moved his lips so he was kissing you down the neck, and you couldn't help but roll your head to the ceiling to give him more access, which he took eagerly. His shaved head brushed against your chin as he showered your neck with kisses, which you liked deeply.

"Can I feel your muscles?" You asked, almost shyly.

He beamed from the question, nodding. "Of course."

He moved back, still straddling you, and you hesitantly raised your hands to his mascular chest. You laid it on his abs, and smiled when you felt the rippling muscles under his shirt. You felt along his loose robe, closing your eyes as you felt around. You memorized everything about him in your head, loving how his chest was built. Zuko seemed to like this, since he was looking down at you without question. Each time your hand touched him, you felt a whole step closer with the Prince. Your heart burned from how much you cared for him now, and whenever you thought of leaving him, your eyes filled with tears.

Zuko noticed your eyes tearing up, and he quickly leaned down to kiss your eyelids. "What's wrong?"

"Zuko, can you promise me something?"

"Anything."

"Don't get yourself killed."

"What?"

"With this Avatar business, and the commander, please don't get yourself seriously hurt." You let out a sniffle, wrapping your arms tightly around his neck, pulling him closer. Zuko instantly buried his head in your neck, and you held onto him, afraid to let him go right now. "Promise me."

"I promise I won't ever leave you,"

You said nothing as you enjoyed the moment with Zuko, simply enjoying his company. He seemed to like it as well, inhaling softly in your neck. One moment, you swore he smelled you, which you grinned at.

"Zuko?"

"Yes?"

"Do you mind if you sleep in here with me?" You asked cautiously, praying for a yes.

He pulled away, looking at you in concern. "Is something wrong? If there is, please tell me."

"Nothing is wrong. I just.... Want to be with you, Zuko."

He sure didn't deny that, and nodded solemnly. "Of course. I'm just worried about you."

"Don't worry about me, Zuko," You said, seriously, "worry about yourself."

With that, you closed your eyes, holding onto the boy you think you have fallen in love with right now. Trying to go to sleep, you wondered why you were here. Were you destined to die for him, or the Avatar? Why was this stuff so confusing?

"I will always put you first," Zuko said harshly, leaning back to look at you. "Never think I won't."

"Zuko, you are more important than me."

"Not in my eyes," He argued, shaking his head. "I am nothing right now, for I will be someone with honor when I get the avatar. Right now, you are worth more than me."

"You're a Prince, Zuko."

"And you're my girlfriend."

Smiling, you looked back up at him. "Oh, so I'm your girlfriend now?"

You swore you saw him blush, and look away. "Well, I thought you would like to be."

"Zuko, I would love to be your girlfriend." You assured him gently, leaning up to brush your lips against his. He leaned down, pressing your head against the bed as he fiercly kissed you back. "I thought you'd never ask."

"Nephew?" You looked up in horror as Iroh walked in the room, and he looked worried. Zuko reluctantly sat up, even though he was still straddling you.

"What, Uncle?"

"Commander Jhao is here," Iroh said in a grave voice, "and he wants to take the crew, and ship. He also just took the chef."

"What?" Zuko sat up, glaring as none other than Jhao walked in. He had a smirk on his face, and at least he was as ugly as he was in the show. His golden eyes looked curiously in yor direction, and you hid under the blankets.

"We are going to siege the Northern Water Tribe," Jhao said happily, "and we wanted to see if your uncle here would like to join. Zuko, you are not needed in this misson."

Zuko scoffed, laying back on the bed. He looked so mad right now, and a little sad. "Whatever. Just leave,"

"Zuko," Iroh looked sad right now, shaking his head. "Just please come along. Don't you have any idea what he could do?"

Zhao smirked, "Oh, he can clean the bunks. And she," He looked in your direction, and Zuko moved in front of you protectively. "can be some maid."

"She won't be working for you," Zuko said violently.

"Okay, but we'll be back. Iroh and I will go on a walk discussing what the plans will be."

"Will you like to come?" Iroh cut in.

"No." Zuko said, laying his head on you. You sat up, letting him lay his head on your chest, even though people were watching him. He sighed, and looked so stressed. You laid your hand on his hair, massaging it gently.

"Okay, just stay in the dark I guess." Iroh turned to leave the room.

"Can you believe that jerk?" You hissed, right when the door closed.

"Can we not talk about it?" Zuko muttered, "I have a terrible headache."

"Zuko, you should've went on a walk with them." Suddenly, when you head something bump into something outside, you remembered what was supposed to happen. Those stupid pirates are supposed to come back and blow the whole ship up!

Jumping up, you look back at Zuko in total horror. "Zuko- I think I heard someone in the ship!"

He sat up, although he didn't look too worried. "What do you mean?"

Standing up, you rushed out in the hall, after making sure Zuko was right behind you. The two of you wandered down the dim halls, listening to anything that moved. You felt your face pale, and you linked arms with Zuko for someone to lean on. Any time this whole ship was going to explode! You had to get out of here!

You two were now in the control room, and Zuko looked horrified. Seeing the parrot out the window, Zuko took your hand and sent you both sprawling out the window, into the water. Just then, you heard a loud explosion, and you felt yourself collide in the darkness of the watery depths.
