[ A - All Readers ]

I don't own Beyblade. All credit goes to Takao Aoki.
The story and the oc's belong to me. NO FLAMERS!! And Mariah bashing included.
(She's so annoying. She makes every fiber of my being scream out in rejection. I just want to bash her face in. grip her pink hair and cut it all off and feed her to my dog demons, and I'll bring her back to life and repeat the process.)

If you fight fire with fire, doesn't that create more fire?
(School the next day)

“Sai! Why are you telling me this now?” mai whined as she poked her sister.
Sai flicked her hand away and puts her manga book away. “I told you this morning, didn't I or maybe I thought I did.”
Mai sat down on her desk. “I'm pretty sure you didn't. I wouldn't forget something like ray asking you out for the first time ever. When are you going?”
“Today after school if I don't have clean up duty. This reminds me.”
Sai stood up and pulled out a stack of played cards. “It's that time again, guys. Time to play Rich man, poor man to see who gets clean up duty today.”
Tyson, max, ray, and mai chattered happily as they pushed the desks together.
“This time I won't lose.” Tyson promised.
Kai remained at his desk. “Play by yourselves. I already had clean up duty.”
Mai smirked. She knows how to get him to play. `Sometimes he's just too easy.'
“Running away from a challenge, I thought you were braver than that. He's afraid to get his butt kicked in a game of cards.”
Anger vain popped on kai's head. “Fine. I'll play. Just don't cry when you have to clean the room again.” He said in a cold tone.
Little sparks danced around them as they glared at each other.
Max “Boy, they're tense.”
Tyson “Let's make another bet.”
“We're not going to do your chores.” Sai commented why shuffling.
Ray smiled “I wouldn't do it anyway.”
Mai perked up “Great idea. Kai if you lose, you'll have to dye your hair black to look Japanese and keep it like that for two days.”
Kai smirked. “Fine. Then you'll have to dye your hair red.”
“What?! Okay! Deal.”
Everyone in the classroom gathered around to watch the game. It's sort like a free time activity to watch them all play cards and make bets. It's not that amazing that the bladebreakers are at their school. Mariah was watching in the corner of the room with Hilary. (I do support Hillary and kai. Just not right now. Please don't hate me!)
“Look at the two losers playing their little card game. Makes me sick.”
“What makes them think they can do stuff like that? I'm class president I should get the attention that those two losers are getting.” Hilary spats.
“Sai's ego is getting too big. I want to take her down a peg or two. How dare she steal a date with ray.” She growled.
Mai throws down four 8's. “Ha! Revolution.”
Tyson shouted “Cheater! What kind of trick are you trying to pull?”
Mai points her finger at the pile of cards. “What are you talking about? It's in the rules!”
Sai pulls out the rule book. “Let's see. Revolution makes all high cards low…”
Ray slips out four 4's. “I got a reverse revolution…”
Everyone went silent before bursting out laughing. Mai slammed her head on the desk.
Sai smiled “Great move. I think you won. You're out.”
Ray sat back and smiled. “Glad I'm out. I don't want any part of this bet.”
They played a while longer until it came down to Tyson, mai, and kai.
“WHY YOU ROTTEN LIL'!! YOU AND YOUR CHEAP TRICKS!”
“CHEAP NOTHING! THAT'S FAIR GAME!” Kai and mai glared daggers into each others eyes. Kai “Next time you pull that crap, I'm gonna…”
Mai “Go ahead. It'll be the dumbest thing next to Tyson that you've ever done.”
They continued shouted threats at each other. The others looked at them as if it's nothing. Sai commented. “Do they know that it was Tyson who won?”
Max and Ray. “No.” they were pretty much bored with the argument. Yeah it kinda brings out a side of kai they almost never see, but hey, in this time anything can happen.
Ray turned to sai. “Do you want me to pick you up after school and head out there or do you want to change clothes and meet me there?”
Sai turned red and answered. “Uh…I need to go home and get changed. I'll meet you there and I won't keep you waiting! Promise!”
Ray smiled sweetly. “Don't worry about it. I think it's cute you want to change clothes when we're only going to the zoo.”
Sai turned apple red and fainted out of her chair hitting her head on the floor. Everyone gathered around her worriedly. “Is she okay?” “She passed out!”
Sai still had a goofy smile on her face. Her eyes are all swirling and chibi ray's were dancing around her head chanting `cute.'
Mai sighs in relief. “Oh. She's fine. Just in a little shock. Hey! Sai get up!”
Sai blinked a few times and sat up rubbing her head in embarrassment.
Mariah stepped up. “I thought she was the smart one. She can't even sit in a chair the right way. Let alone find a decent place to sleep.”
Everyone in the classroom laughed. Mai gritted her teeth as she helped her sister stand up. Mai always hated mariah and hilary. They're always looking for trouble.
“Oh shut up mariah. Your annoying high pitched voice is giving me a headache.”
Hilary stood in front of mariah. “Why don't you back off?”
Mai stood up. “Why don't you keep your pointy nose out of it?” she flicked her nose.
Before it got too out of hand the teacher came in. “What is going on here?”
The whole classroom answered. “Nothing” and went back to their seats.
Sai sat next to mai. “Thanks for covering for me.”
“No problem. That's what sisters are for. I love making the double pink ditz mad.”
“Still…” sai turned behind her to look at ray that was a few rows behind her. “I made I fool out of myself again. All he did was smile and say cute and I zoned out. I'm some love sick puppy, huh?” she said sadly. Mai puts her hand on her shoulder.
“Hey. Come on. Don't feel that way. I get the same way around kai. Only I'm hiding it better than you by fighting with him. Just don't let mariah get you down.”
Sai smiled at her sister. “Thanks, sis. Even though you're a pain in the butt and can't do squat most of the time, you're great.”
Mai puts her hands behind her head. “I'll take that as a compliment and it's thanks to you I can count to 50.” They shared a good laugh before refocusing on class work.
(I bet you're thinking who focuses on class work? Well…yeah… I don't have a story for that one…never mind.)
The final bell rang and ever one was dismissed. Mariah blew ray a kiss before leaving.
“Catch you later, ray. See you tomorrow!”
The BladeBreakers and mai pretended to gag when she blew ray a kiss. The rest of the BladeBreakers went on ahead leaving.
“Dude, you got to ditch mariah. I don't know how much more of her I can take.”
“Yeah. All she does is start trouble. I over heard a bunch of girls talking some crazy stuff about you and about other girls trying to get near you.”
Kai sighed. “That's the price of having fan girls and a fan club.”
Tyson practically jumped on kai's back. “Are you nuts?! Do you know what I would give to have fan girls, a fan club?! I want girls to have a picture of me on their wall! I want to have my picture on somebody's cell phone! I want it all!”
Kai pushed him off. “Stop yelling in my ear. Let's go. We have training to do.”
Ray looked back at kai and then to kai. “Uh. Kai. I'm going t be late for practice. I promised I'd take sai somewhere after school.”
Kai waved his hand. “Fine, go ahead.”
Tyson and max yelled. “What?! Why does ray get to skip?”
Kai smirked. “Cause ray actually trains when I don't have to ask him to and he doesn't goof around like two certain idiots that I know.”
Tyson and max yelled how unfair kai is.
(Being very lazy and I can't think of another part now. So I'm skipping to the date!)
Mai waved from the front door. “Have fun and be back by Six o'clock or I'm going to call the cops. Don't get separated by fan girls or I'll have to hunt you down!”
Sai looked down in embarrassment. “Sis…do you have to play mom now?”
Ray grabbed sai's hand and tugged her towards the zoo.
“Don't worry mai. I'll have her back by Six o'clock safe and sound.”

(Zoo!!!)
Sai said excitedly. “Lookie, Lookie! So cute! Aren't they cute?”
Sai exclaimed as she pointed to panda bears and leopards.
Ray nods next to her. “Yeah. I've seen a lot of them back at my home village.”
“You used to live in a village?” sai asked in an unbelievable tone.
“Yeah, but I can't tell you too much about it. It's a secret.” He said and place one finger over his mouth and winked, causing her to blush a dark red.
She quickly turned away and pointed to another building. “Let's go to the nocturnal exhibit and see what they have.”
Ray nods and followed her into the dark building. It was completely dark inside. You can hear animals and people chatting and they had very little light in there to illuminate the animals. Sai nudged a little closer to ray, apparently scared of the animals.
Ray stated, “Wow. It's like the middle of the night in here. Better stay close to me.”
Sai nodded. `Believe me when I want to stay close.' Sai continued to walk behind ray until someone brushed past her. She stopped to look at the person she bumped into but it was too dark to see so she shrugged it off and followed ray only to find that he was gone!
“Ray?! Where'd you go?” sai started to back away slowly. `Oh! Did I lose him?'
She backed up even more. She gasped sharply when someone wrapped one arm around her stomach and pulled her close to them.
“Sai? That's good I found you. I thought I lost you for a second.” Ray grabs her hand and pulls her towards the exit. “I'm going to hold your hand, okay? I don't want you to get lost and then have mai biting my head off.” He said with a shy smile.
Sai blushes and stayed silent as she followed him. Moments later they were getting closer to the exit. Sai thought sadly `There's the exit.' When they made it outside ray's grip on sai's hand tighten. Sai snatched her hand out of his. “Ow! Too tight!”
Ra snapped out his thoughts and gasped. “I'm sorry. I hurt you didn't I?”
Sai waved her hands “N-no. I'm okay. My hands are sensitive that's all.” She lied.
Ray rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. “Sorry. I didn't mean to squeeze so hard. I was nervous…” he explained with a light blush.
Sai held her hand to her chest. `Could that mean…maybe he likes me too?'

(Mai)
Mai sits on the couch channel flipping. “We have almost unlimited channels, yet there's almost nothing to watch! I wonder how sai's doing?” she wondered aloud.
Her thoughts were disturbed when she saw a crack forming in the wall. Being curious she got up to get a closer look to see if she was imagining thing. The cracks spread until something finally came through and nearly hit her. Whatever it was only grazed her cheek and made contact with the wall behind her. She rubbed her cheek of the trickle of blood and looked at both cracks. Sai was going to have a cow when she sees this.
“Hey! Be careful! I could get in trouble for this!” she shouted to the first hole in the wall. She peeked through it to see if anyone was on the other side but she didn't see anybody.
`Isn't that kai's apartment room?'
She continued to inspect the hole in the wall. Kai walked in casually and searched the room for his blade. Mai turned around and yelled at him.
“Idiot! Is this your doing?!” she pointed to the wall.
Kai ignored her and continued to look for his beyblade. He looked behind the couch and found it. When he picked it up he inspected it for any damage.
“Good. It's just fine.” He stated.
Mai waved her arms frantically. “Hello! The walls! How the heck did you do that?”
Kai looked at both walls and his expressions remained unmoved.
“My Dranzer was getting restless so I let it burn off some energy.”
“Then why didn't you the beydish in the training room on the third floor?” she asked.
Kai pockets his beyblade. “I broke it on my first launch.” He said monotone. He turned to leave but mai stopped him. “You better fix the holes in the walls. Sai will kill me when she finds out. I can't exactly tell her that kai launched his flaming chicken because he was practicing his bidblade.” She said in a panicked rush.
Kai removed her hand. “First off, Dranzer isn't a flaming chicken, he's a phoenix. Second, it's pronounced `beyblade.'” He stated as he flicked her nose.
Mai groaned and rubbed her nose. “Details. Anyway, are you going to do something?”
Kai smirks and walks out the door with his hands in his pockets. “No. I don't think I will. I've got better things to do.”
Mai stands in the doorway and calls out to him. “You drive me crazy! You could at least pay for one wall!”
Her request fell on deaf ears as kai shuts the door and laughs at her. Mai shuts her door too and looks at the damage again. `At times I wonder why I fall for that boy. He doesn't even see me the way I want him to see me. To him…I'm just another girl who's after his money and only admire his good-looks. Oh well…better call a repair man to get the wall fixed.'
Mai sighed and rubbed her neck. She walked to her and sai's room to lay down for awhile. She looked down and saw something sticking out from sai's bad. Being curious she pulls it out to examine it.
`It's that new video game from that pop-up ad. I knew sai couldn't help but get the thing.' She smiled to herself. `I wonder how it works…' She pulls out all the gadgets and inspected all of them. “Looks high-tech, I wonder what this is …WARNING side effects may include memory gaps, glitches in the system while playing, exhaustion, dizziness, and the urge to play nonstop…creepy.”
Mai looks over the directions again and hooks everything up to the computer. She nods at her handy work. `That should be about right. Maybe I should sai for sai to get home?'
“Mai! I'm home!” sai's voice echoed through the house. Mai walked out of the room to greet her and also wondered why she was home early.
“Hey. What happened? You're here early.” Mai said.
Sai takes off her backpack and everything else she took on her date with ray.
“Mariah happened. She showed up out of nowhere and took ray. I guess he forgot about me being there, I didn't want to make a big deal out of it so I left.”
Mai crossed her arms. “That pink ditz always gets on my nerves. But you know you're too nice of a person. This must be why ray only sees you as a friend. When another girl comes you don't fight over him, he thinks you don't care.”
Sai walked to her room. “I do care. I just don't want to get all bloody and dirty and possibly get arrested or hurt.”
Mai smiled and joked. “Nothing says `I love you' more than an all out fight over a boy.”
Both snickered and sat on their beds. Sai looked at the equipment that was all over the place. “You found the game, didn't you?”
Mai rocked on her bed. “You hid it under your bed. That's almost the number one place to looking when you're looking for something.”
Sai walked over to the computer. “You mean snooping.”
Mai picked up the virtual glasses and examined them. “I wasn't snooping. I was looking under your bed to see what lies within.” She stated.
Sai rolled her eyes and logged on the computer. “You hooked everything up right?”
Mai puts on the glasses and nodded. “Hey. These are cool. Wonder what they do?”
Sai continued to type some nonsense on the computer to start it up. When she pressed enter the screen went black for a moment. She looked at it in question and began pressing other buttons. Nothing happened. She waited for something else to happen. The screen started to flash and flicker. Weird music can be heard coming from the speakers.
“What the heck is this?” sai wondered aloud.
“WELCOME TO BEY-SAGA. DEMO-VERSION. PLEASE PUT ON YOUR VIRTUAL GLASSES AND WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.”
Sai turned to her sister who was wearing the glasses and making funny noises like an idiot or she's acting like those kids in space. “Do you want to test this thing first or should I?” She asked.
Mai gave her thumbs up. “Don't worry about a thing. I'll give this puppy a whirl.”
Sai nods and press enter on the keyboard. Series of numbers ran across the screen in a fast motion, sounds of whooshing noises could be heard and then all black came on the screen. Sai looked at her sister to see if anything happened on her end. She finds that her sister passed out on the bed. Only half her body was even on the bed. Sai hurries over to her fallen sister and tries to shake her awake, but she didn't respond. She tries slapping her face and still nothing! Sai was on the verge of crying over her sister until she got a closer look at the virtual glasses. She could see little faded green lines going across the screen. Sai was usually a genius when it comes to technology but she has to admit that she's confused and worried that this was no ordinary game.

“This place rocks! Yo, Sai! You've got to come in here! There's a bunch of hot cosplaying people in here!” A familiar voice came from the computer screen.
Sai turned around and saw a chibi mai standing on a role-playing board forest.
Sai hurries back over to the computer screen. She wasn't sure if talking to a computer screen would help mai hear her so she looked for her ear-mic to communicate. She plugs it in and tries it out. “Mai, can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear, sis. This place is amazing! You've got to get the full version.” Mai said in a high voice as she squealed.
Sai winced and pulled the ear piece out of her ear. “Ow! Lower the decibel. You sound like a fangirl when she meets a celebrity.”
“Sorry, but this place is just so amazing! You just have to see.” she said in awe.
Sai thought about it for a moment and couldn't resist being tempted. She grabbed the extra pair of glasses and puts them on.

(Bey-saga)

“Hello, sis. Wakey-wakey.” Mai said as she shook her sister awake.
Sai opens her eyes, sits up and grabs her head in pain. When she was focused again she looked down at herself and to find that her cloths completely changed and so did her hair.
Mai points to her outfit. “You look like that girl from that TV show. Teen Titans, I think. What's that girl's name? Raven?” she pondered.
Sai twirls around. “But, why am I dressed like this? It's too revealing! You can see my legs and I feel like I'm in a one-pieced bathing suit!”
Mai rubs her chin. “Maybe, it's an already set costume program to match your personality? I mean look at mine. I'm a freakin' gladiator- type girl fighter.” She commented.
Sai examines the area. Behind her she could see an old world bazaar. Like the ones you see in Egypt or something. She could definitely see people there and they were dressed no differently from her and mai. Some really do look like cosplayers and some look like warriors and swordsmen with capes and cloaks. She turned in another direction opposite of the bazaar. The forest continues on for a while and far off she could see a tall tower.
“Where do we start? What are we suppose to be doing here?” sai questioned.
Mai waves her finger. “My dear sister it is quite simple; we're inside a game and as so we beat up a lot of monsters and gain points and experience.”
“You read that in the manual.” Sai accused.
Mai crossed her arms. “I did not. No one reads the manual.”
Sai points out. “Then it's in the manual. You just don't know it. Anyway…”
Hello!” Mai and sai scream in fright. “AHHHH!!!!”
“Welcome to the demo version of Bey-saga. I am your guardian who will help you through your travels.” A cute tiny robot head greeted.
Mai held sai in fear. “What is that cute little thing?”
Sai held mai in fear. “I don't know, but make it go away!”
How, rude! I was programmed by Masuki to come greet you two.” The robot argued. “You could show me some gratitude, you ingrates!”
Mai whispers to sai. “What's an ingrate?” Sai whispers back. “I think that's us.”
“Thank you so very much you robot-freak.” They said in unison.

Crash!

“What was that?!” Mai yelled in fear.
Looks like the goblins got out again. Go south into the forest and kill them. When you kill then you will gain enough experience to get your log in password and get access into the real game of Bey-saga.” The tiny robot explained.
Mai smiled a little and asked. “Goblins. How bad can they be?”

(Moments later…)

“AHHH!!!!” Sai screamed as she dodged a spiked club aimed at her head. She scrambled to her feet to get a good distance away from the 10 goblins chasing her.
You girls aren't very good fighters. Don't you all know how to fight?”
Mai skids between a goblins open legs to dodge one goblin that was trying to get her. The two goblins took a swing at each other and killed each other by accident. Mai stood up and panted. “Well, do we have any weapons or something to give us an edge?!”
Mai you have daggers strapped to your back, use them as you want. Sai you really are Raven from Teen Titans your powers are like hers only your spells are different.
That goblin is charging at you. Say `zinthos-blocker.' And you will have a shield.”
Mai took out her daggers and began slashing through goblins like a maniac. She was laughing crazily and her eyes were wide. “I feel the power!! Die! Die! Die!”
Sai jumped back from a goblin. She clapped her hands together and said. “Zinthos- Blocker!” Her hands turned black and white and formed a shield to block the goblins attack. It stumbled back and charged again.
Now try `azerath-attack!” The tiny robot shouted.
Sai extended her arms and hands out then shouted. “Azerath-attack!”
Streams of dark blast came out of her hands and killed all the goblins. Mai managed to kill all the goblins that came after her too. She wiped the sweat off her forehead and sighed. “That was a work out. See I told you it wasn't so bad. You should have more faith in me.”
Sai looked at her shaking hands and then smiled wickedly. “That was rally awesome. I've never felt so alive before. The anticipation of battle…pulse racing, my heart beat pounding in my ears, every hair on my body standing on end…why can't life feel like this all the time?” sai wondered.
“Well, congratulations. You passed with success. For novices you ranked a perfect score on your first try. Most players who played the advance leveled mobs like this had to try at least five times before getting access to the real Bey-saga. This is where I must leave you and let you jack out. I must tell you this though. Never tell anyone about this game. Unless they received word of this game themselves they must never learn about this. Only chosen people can play this game. Those who are not chosen to play this game… let's just say it's not good.”
“What do you mean? What's really going on with this game?” mai asked.
Sai placed her finger to her lip. “I knew I've felt something wrong with this game. We're being dragged into something we don't want to be dragged in.”
I'm sorry I can't tell you everything. I'm only doing what I'm programmed to do, but there are two people who can tell you what you need to know. The owner where you got the demo version from, he can tell you something, his name is rotor and when you get the real version of Bey-saga you will get a temporary guardian. Ask him and he will tell you something.” The robot said sadly.
Mai and sai looked at each other uncertainly. They weren't too sure what to think at the moment. If there really was something wrong what can they do and can they really do something to help? Both of them looked at the ground and sort out their thoughts.
Mai looks up. “Well, I want to do it. I could use a little more excitement since I'm not doing anything worthwhile.”
Sai looks at her sister. “Well, sis. I certainly can't leave you dangling in the wind and I certainly can't let you have all the fun. After what we did just now, I want to do it more often and it's not like me to just give up on a cool game like this. So count me in.”
Then it's settled. I will log you out now. Bye-bye!”
Mai and sai looked at each other and then they started to glow a bright white before fading into computer pixels and then completely disappeared.

(Back home)

Sai was the first to wake up. She took off the glasses and looks around her room. Everything was back to normal as she expected. She heard someone yawn next to her.
Mai sits up while taking off the glasses. “You might think I'm crazy saying this; but I can't wait to go back! It's a pain that we have to keep it a secret from our friends though. I mean we discovered something totally cool and we can't tell them.”
Sai puts all the equipment away. “I know. But if we do tell them about the game, it'll only increase their popularity status.” Sai sits on the edge of her sister's bed. “We better made a sister to sister swear to never reveal what we discovered. I know you enough that just saying you won't tell that you really will tell.” Sai holds out her pinky. Mai links her pinky to her. “Right, right. Pinky sister swear it's stronger than a blood oath.”
Both sisters smiled at each other and went to bed. Once both turned off there lamps and were under their covers sai spoke up. “Can I ask you something?”
Mai turns over slightly. “Yeah?”
“Why are there two small holes in the living room walls?” she asked.
Mai closed her eyes and said angrily. “Sir Kai Hiwatari did it with his flaming chicken. The jerk wouldn't even pay for the damage. Point the finger at him.”
Sai flops back on her pillow. “I'm too tired to do anything. G'night.”
“G'night.” Mai said sleepily.
