Beyblade Fan Fiction ❯ Bey-saga ❯ Geting reckless ( Chapter 3 )

[ A - All Readers ]

I don't own Beyblade. All credit goes to Takao Aoki.
The story and the oc's belong to me. NO FLAMERS!! And Mariah bashing included.
(She's so annoying. She makes every fiber of my being scream out in rejection. I just want to bash her face in. grip her pink hair and cut it all off and feed her to my dog demons, and I'll bring her back to life and repeat the process.)

Summary: it's the year 2018 and everything is almost basically done by technology.
Of course everything is almost hand free. Two lucky girls have discovered a regular game called. `Bey-saga' and they were transported into a virtual game world.

The best way to keep a secret is to have a bigger secret on top of another secret and a bigger, bigger secret on top of the other secret. That way you'll forget about telling your first secret.

(This is three weeks later!)
~*Welcome to Bey-Saga. *~

Mai's body frame appeared in tiny pixels. Then the rest of her form appeared. She opened her eyes and smiled. She stood at the entrance of the Bey-city bazaar.
“I better make this quick. School is starting in an hour and I feel like bashings some monsters before I have to face kai at school.”
She moved her hand in a swift movement and a pull up screen appeared in front of her.
With her index finger she pointed to random small panels that appeared on the screen. She tapped on one final panel and the pull up disappeared letting another pixel form appeared in front of her. Taking the form of a muscular, yet not too muscular, young man with long black hair that was kept in a low pony tail. Mai nodded in approval. His name is John Chaser. He was sort of like a combination of kai and ray. He had kai's attitude and attractive looks that makes girls want to fall all over him and ray's looks and fighting style.
Mai waved her hand. “Yo, John. Hope you don't mind me calling you.”
John smiled. “You've said the same thing every morning these past three weeks, mistress. I don't mind you calling me out here.”
Mai rubs the back of her neck in embarrassment. “Right. So, is there any place to go to kill a few monsters really quick? I have to go to school in an hour.”
John pulls up a panel that appears to be a map. “We're not too far off from the gargoyle cave. Would you like to go there?” he said letting the map disappear.
Mai pumps her fist in the air. “What are we waiting for?! Let's go!” She shouted and ran full speed into the mountains with John chasing after her. (That's why I call him john chaser. Bad joke. Mai or sai always runs away so john chases after them.)
In the mountains everything was silent. You could see a few gamers passing by on their own game quest. The wind was blowing mildly and everyone could hear the wolverines howling carried by the wind.
John looks up silently alarmed. “Wolverines. Think they're the same kind as last night?”
Mai looked at the cave. “I doubt it. This cave is supposed to be hard, I don't know about you, but I came to get into a fight. You don't get experience standing and walking around the bazaar.” She stated as she cautiously walked inside the cave with john following close by. “Aw! That's so cute! Aren't they so precious when they rush to their dooms?”
Mai and john turned around to see a man and a women standing there. Both of them seem to be sword wielders.
“Careful, little girl, you're still a noob in this game. This is gargoyle cave. The big time…maybe you should party with us? We'll keep those bad monsters at bay for ya and you can play with the cave chickens. Plus you can tell your friends that you went on an adventure with the swords master Enrique-the-mighty! You've heard of me I'm sure.”
The female next to him placed her finger against her cheek. “I'm Michelle. I'm a swordswomen. Enrique-the-mighty is a swordsman, too.”
Mai looks at john for answers. He only shook his head indicating he had no clue who the two were. Mai told john to ignore them and reminded him she doesn't have much time before she has to log out to go to school.
Enrique-the-mighty rambles on. “I understand how overwhelmed you must be by my generosity. I will allow you to join his party.”
John stopped and gave him a deadly glare. “Look, you two obviously just got killed down here. When your character bit it, you dropped all your money and equipment. You want to try and recover it, nut you know you two would never make it without any medicine, but you can't do that both because your equipment is down here and you can't buy anything because your money is down here as well.” He stated as if he were actually there and knew the situation.
Both players gaped at him. John turned around and followed mai further into the cave.
“You can tag along if you want, but don't get in our way. And stop referring to yourself in the third person.”
Enrique-the-mighty rubs his head. “Enrique-the-mighty graciously accepts your request.”
Mai comments when john walks next to her. “You're such a softy. One day it's going to get you in trouble.”
John smiles. “Whatever.”
While walking further into the cave they came to a sudden halt when they heard a high pitched screech. A huge flying gargoyle Flew over their heads in attempt to slice there heads off. Everyone managed to duck for cover in time when it came around again. John tilted his head and yelled.
“Heads up!! Gargoyle dead ahead!”
Mai stood up and whipped out her daggers that were tied on her back.
“I'm on it! Isn't he a cute little thing?” She charged ahead only to see Enrique-the-mighty charge faster than her and sliced the gargoyle himself while looking heroic to empress them. When he didn't hear anyone say anything he turned to see mai radiating with rage and john slowly backs away form her. Mai ran in blind fury and wrings Enrique's neck.
“That gargoyle was mine!! You touch one of my kills and prey again; you'll be back to wherever stuck-up jerks like you come from!!” she shouted then walked away still fuming. “John! Your pets are getting on my nerves. Get rid of them!” she growled.
John smiled at Enrique who was bowing on the floor. “I told you not to get in our way.”
“I didn't mean it…” Enrique pleaded.
When john and mai were almost out of hearing range he muttered. “Those two are going to regret the day they laughed at Enrique-the-mighty!”
Michelle squatted down next to him. “I have a feeling this is going to be our last adventure together.”

Further into the cave mai and john were slicing gargoyles left in right. Not leaving any enemies for the two useless sword warriors in the back.
“Both are warrior types and her sub-class is sorcerer. That's not a bad combination.”
Enrique snorts. “They do okay for just the two of them.”
Michelle, “They do more than okay. Even though it's just the two of them they make up for each others weaknesses. Alone they don't stand a chance but together…” she trailed.
They all came to a fork in the road. Mai looked at both tunnels and then turned to john who held the map. “Which way?”
John pulls up the map and views it. “Hmm…this fork isn't on the map.”
When hearing this Michelle screams, “Wait!!”
The cave began to rumble and rocks began to fall. In the shadows of the cave everyone heard a roaring sound. Emerging from the shadows was a giant Minotaur! The giant horns on its head were causing the rocks to rumble and almost cave in around them.
Enrique-the-mighty face began to go pale at the size. “T-that's the Minotaur that got us.”
John looked up from the map. He saw the Minotaur raise the ax he was carrying and slashed his arm. John fell back while covering his bleeding shoulder. Mai took out her daggers and charged at the Minotaur. When she attempted to jump in the Minotaur's head, she only managed to break both her daggers and get knocked away by the Minotaur's muscled arm. Enrique-the-mighty unsheathes his sword and beings to charge, but mai managed to get up and holds him back. “Don't even think about it.”
Enrique shouts “You and him are out of this fight…how are you standing? You should be out of it.”
Mai smirks evilly. “My sub-class is sorceress. I may not be a priestess but I can still heal myself.” Mai turns her attention to john whom was slowly getting up and still clutching his shoulder. “John! You got it?”
John smirks evilly. “Yeah, it's show it. Do your thing and let's get to work.”
Mai make a small circle with her hands and watched as a green aura and small white balls of light mix with it. She smiles and extended her arms and plunged the spell in johns back. Cure!”
John removed his hand to let the spell heal his wound. Mai recited more spells to give him an edge against the Minotaur. “Strength, up! Speed, up! Armor, up!”
Not wasting any time, john went straight to the Minotaur and bashed his face. “Die!!”
Michelle and Enrique-the-mighty began backing away.
“They look like a bunch of wimps, but now look at them! They really are strong.”
Mai began to chuckle herself. This was always part of their plan. Buff john up and go crazy with your spells and weapons. That's how they fight.
She held both of her palms upwards and focused her mana to create little thunder sparks in her hands. “My friend john told you to die you stupid minotaur! So die!!”
Both useless sword wielders backed away in fear. “I don't believe it!”

A pop-up screen appeared with sai's face on it. Seeing two unfamiliar people she turned the screen slightly to see john and her sister in battle. She groaned when she saw her sister unleash a double lighten-bolt. It's almost a high-level technique that high-level sorcerers use. Sai sort of cheated and got the ability for her sister.
“Mai's going all out again. John, when you've got a minute…”
John wasn't paying attention to reason. “Quiet over there! Or there's a couple of these with your on `em!” He picked up his crazy fighting habits from the both of them.
Seeing the she had no other chose sai pulled the plug on mai's virtual glasses, forcing her to log out. But mai's virtual body remained there frozen in thin air.
Michelle and Enrique-the-mighty breathe a sigh of relief when mai stopped her rampage.
“Good thing she's a High-ping player…”
John turns his head slightly as he tears a piece of Minotaur flesh. He still had that killing look in his eyes. “Who? What? What's going on?”
Sai's pop-up screen appears next to him. “Nothing. Finish up and log out. Thank for today, though.”

(Real world. In their bedroom.)
Mai lay sprawled out on her bed breathing almost heavily and her eyes were wide. She sits up and saw sai swinging the plug to her virtual glasses around.
“Just when I thought you couldn't get any worse.”
Mai pulls the virtual glasses off. “Hey, I was doing something important, ya know.”
Sai tosses the cord to the side and grabs her bag. “Yeah, yeah. Come on. We got to go to school. You do remember that you have to go there too right?”
Mai grabs her bag and joins her sister out the door. “I don't know how long I can keep this game a secret. We live in the year 2018! Things like this shouldn't faze them.”
“That doesn't matter. The bladebreakers have been the world champions for a long time. If they put all of that down to play a virtual video game, their beyblading career could go down the drains all because a certain someone wanted to blab out the truth.” Sai stated.
Mai shows a sly grin and nudges her sister in the rib. “You just don't want to ruin ray's title as a famous beyblader. Come on! I don't even think the boys are even the video game type. Tyson and Max however I hold no such promise.”
All sai could do was rub and shake her head at her sisters ignorance. They heard the school bell ring and make a run for it to class.

(Skipping to free time.)

In the computer lab, mai and sai were typing away at the computer. Well sai was typing since she was somewhat of a computer genius, mai would just overload the computer.
“What about this?” sai asked as she pulled up a newly designed Beyblade battle tournament for school. Mai nods but then frowned slightly. “It's missing something.”
She reaches over and hits two keys and a picture of the Bladebreakers at different angles launching their blades and their bladeblades with a close up of their bit beasts were shown around them. Mai made sure that kai was slightly larger and he was in the center.
Sai squints her eyes as she looks at the new poster then simply said.
“I don't like it. Kai shouldn't be in the middle like that, even if he is the captain.”
Mai sits down on a nearby chair and rocks back and forth on the back legs.
“Well we certainly can't put tyson's picture in the middle. The dude's ego is already big enough and he already has a lot of posters with his big head on them.”
Sai erases the picture and pastes a different one. “Nobody is going to be in the center. They're each going to take a corner of the poster.”
Mai just continued to rock on the chair and changed the topic. “So…how's the search on Bey-saga? Find anything yet?”
Sai looks at her sister and then at the closed door.
“I've tried almost everything that I can think of to get more information on who created the game and how are grandpa and uncle related to the game somehow.”
They stayed silent for a moment. Then mai remembered something. “Oh, John showed me something week ago. I think they're doing something to Bey-saga. They're adding new stuff to it now. The game is going to be twice as big; there are five nations, new monsters, and new master levels!”
Sai twitched a little and then she had sparkles in her eyes. “That sounds so awesome! You're messing with me aren't you?”
Mai pulls the poster down and connected to the internet and logged onto the Bey-saga website. “Look it up yourself if you don't believe me.”
Sai still had sparkles in her eyes. “That's So Hot!!”
Out of no where Mariah appears in front of them.
“What's hot? Are you two skipping out on your honor student duties?”
Mai stood in Mariah's view of the screen so that sai could pull the poster back up.
“No! We're just making up posters for the Beyblade battle tournament that's being held here at school for all the amateur BeyBladers that go here.”
Mariah tossed her hair. “Whatever. Anyway I get some water to the boys in gym class.”
Sai puts on her stupor face. “So? You came in her just to tell us that?”
Mariah spins around and let's her hair twirl around her as she spins. “It's ray's gym class and I'm pretty sure that kai is out there too. That's why hilary is helping me.”
Mai and sai said in a bored tone. “Whatever. We don't care.”
Mariah humps and leaves the room and made sure to slam the door behind her. Mai stood up and went to the window. Sure enough the boy gym class was out there running on the track. She saw that kai and ray were way ahead of all the other boys. She smirked at that.
Sai interrupted her thoughts. “All right! Now what was that address again?” she began smiling wickedly as she typed the address again.
“Sis, you're starting to scare me. Maybe you're the one who spends too much time in the game and needs some sleep.” She turns around and smiles at her sister. “When to comes to Bey-saga, it's like you're someone else.”
Sai stopped typing for a minute and then returned the smile. “Well, isn't that the point…? In the game I get to be who I really want to be.”

The bell rings signaling that free time and classes are cover and to move on to next period. Sai quickly prints the poster out and hands a copy over to her sister to hand out.
They went their separate ways in the hallway.

Mai made a quick dash to her next period class, thanks to her experience in Bey-saga her skills in the real world have improved too. She's faster and sharper now, though her waking up skills are still lacking.
She opened the door to the class room and took her seat near max who looked troubled.
She gave her two finger salute to max and smiled. “Yo, max, why the long face? Is there a test or surprise quiz coming up?” Max stayed silent and frankly it was beginning to worry her. For a while since she had known max and the BladeBreakers max was never the sulking type. “Okay I give up. What's the problem?”
Tyson came out from the third seating row. “It's the beyblade tournament,” he said not looking too happy either. “There's this team called the demolition boys. They're a bunch of ruthless beybladers who play dirty. They're wicked strong and they're in on the beyblading action.” He said gritting through his teeth.
Mai really didn't have a clue. Yeah she and sai have been friends with the BladeBreakers, but the two of them held no knowledge of the sport. To them it was just another pointless game that the boys go crazy over for no reason.
“So, I'm ignorant. What's the big deal? Form what I gather you guys are pretty tough.”
“Not tough enough since the last time we fought them. We nearly lost all of our bitbeasts to them.” Max butted in.
Silence.
“Okay, right. So what are their names?” mai asked, forgetting the intensity
“Tala, Ian, Brian, and Spencer.” Max replied continuing to frown with tyson.
Mai looked serious for a moment. “Hm… they sound cute!” she somewhat yelled while blushing a tiny bit. Max and tyson practically fell out of their seats by her declaration.
“They won't be so cute when you actually see them Bey-battle.” Kai said coldly.
Tyson picks himself up off the floor. “We won't lose to them. We'll beat them.”
Max joins in agreement. Then they began to talk about strategy.
Mai appeared to be in thought and then remembered something. “Oh, yeah.” She pulls out the posters that they made. “Here's those Beyblade battle tournament posters you guys wanted us to make. Hope they're to your liking.” She said hand them the whole pile.
“What do you want us to do with them?” Max exclaimed at the pile.
“What do you think? Hand them out. Me and sai printed them out so you guys should do some work.” She replied as she took out and manga book and began reading.
The boys looked at her, then the pile of posters and sighed. “No fair.”

(Lunch time! It just started.)
“Ah! Lunch time! The one and only free meal and a free meal isn't any meal it's a challenge!” Tyson exclaimed happily as he stuffed hotdogs and fries in his mouth.
Everyone edged away from him in disgust. “I don't think that food stays in his mouth long enough for him to taste it.” Max commented as he took a bite out of a cookie. Mai takes a sip of her soda. While looking up she saw mariah clutching ray's arm. She spits her soda in kai's face and taps her sister on her shoulder. Sai looks up and glares at mariah. Kai was still silently fuming over the soda issue.
“Hello~!” a very annoying high pitched voice screeched their ears. They turned around to see Mariah holding a Chinese lunch box in one hand and her other hand was wrapped securely around ray's arm.
“Mind if we sit with you guys?” Ray asked with mariah cutting off circulation to his arm.
Mai “You can sit, she can't.” pointing to Mariah who tossed her head and humped.
Sai slammed the book she was reading shut. “Mai shouldn't you and I finish that report?” Sai hinted as she stood up with her laptop and bag in hand.
Mai looked at her in question. “What report?”
“It's the one about the gargoyle and the cave that's near a bazaar.” She insisted.
Then it clicked. She was talking about Bey-saga! She stood up as well and gave a nervous smile. “R-right! That report! I completely forgot all about it. We better go finish it.” She quickly finishes her soda and gives her lunch to tyson. “Let's go!”
“Didn't you guys wanted to know about the Demolition boys?!” max yelled out to them.
Mai pushes Hilary who was walking by in her seat. “Tell her and then tell me! This report is important and I can't wait any longer! Ciao~!” Mai said as she ran to catch up with sai.
Tyson swallows his food. “Boy, those two sure are lively.”
Hilary “And weird! How dare she push me!”
Kai shifts his eyes at the cafeteria door. `That is weird…mai is never that excited about doing homework and she certainly doesn't trust hilary with anything either… she's hiding something.'
`Sai sure seems angry about something…and she's been distracted for sometime now. She hasn't talked to me or anyone but her sister and she's always typing at her laptop, way more than Kenny if that's possible. I'm beginning to think she's hiding something.' Ray thought as he ate his lunch while looking at the door too.

(On the secluded roof top, where no one but the BladeBreakers go on.)
Sai sets her laptop down and logs onto the Bey-saga site. “I'm almost afraid to ask, but could you possible be any denser?”
Mai huffs as she takes out the virtual goggles. “How the heck was I suppose to know what the heck you were talking about?!” She puts them on and plugs them into the laptop. “I never had any report about gargoyles and caves.”
Sai puts on her virtual goggles and plugs them in as well. “I was trying to tell you that I wanted to go to Bey-saga and get away from that table. You were fighting gargoyles in a cave at the time.”
“Yes, you did rudely interrupt me and john. Who knows how much experience he got after killing that minotaur.” Mai mumbled as she placed her I.D disk in the slot.
Sai followed after her. “I'll make it up to you somehow! Let's go! Log in: Sai Maski.”
“Okay! Log in: Mai Maski.”

Their body frames appeared, then pixels filled the frame, and finally they appeared in full form. Raven looked at her body again and frowned. “I still look like Raven. I thought my costume changed.”
“Why change it? It looks good and it matches your mood today.” Reka commented as she began walking through the bazaar looking for nothing in particular with Raven following after. Upon looking around they began to take note that there are a lot of new players in the game. Some of them looked like cosplayers and others looked like peasants just to add to the games features. Reka wasn't paying at attention to what was going on in front of her and accidentally bump shoulders with a knight.
“Hey! Watch where you're going, nooby!” he shouted.
Reka almost brushed it off. “You watch it! You hit me and as a knight you should show some kindness to a girl!” she retorted. Raven looked nervous at the sight.
“I don't have to show you anything especially to a newbie like you. I can tell you two are new at the came. Why don't you log out or something.”
“Who are you calling a newbie?!” Reka shouted and took out one of her daggers. “I'm going to be a master warrior so you better watch it, bud.”
Two other male character players seemed to have been over hearing their conversation.
“Did you hear that girls say that she was going to be a master warrior?”
“Heh. I don't think she's qualified to be a master warrior. Neither is her friend.”
The knight placed one hand on his chin, “A master warrior…”
“What a crock. Roto, you're on level 82. It'd even take you half a year to become a master warrior.” One of them coaxed.
His partner explained. “You'd think you'd run into a master-level player one in a while, since they have to have at least 6,000 hours into the game. But you almost never do…”
The knight called Roto asked. “So you've never seen a master-level player before?”
“Nope, but I hear about them all the time. The ones I've recently heard of that are kinda on the road to a master-level are Gallux and Julie, they're a pair of female cat thieves who call themselves “The Catty duo.” And then there's Il-ban, the dark priest of the dark lands…no one has saw him before only heard rumors about him…and Tala the wolf tamer! They saw he could be the only player in Bey-saga to ever wield a bitbeast egg and hatch it! They say he's a sorcerer, but he spends most of his time as a bounty hunter. Either way, he's got the ultimate power. And everyone knows about the recently new player team, they don't have a name but they began playing three weeks ago and let me tell ya, they're a fierce team according to rumors. They have this guardian that helps them be well balanced in their attacks.”
Raven and Reka scratched their cheek and blushed at the last bit. Too bad the players didn't know they were talking about them.
“Oh! And I almost forgot sword master Argon, the toughest brick in Bey-saga! Absolutely nobody has seen him and if they did they sure are lucky to make it put of his presence alive!” He finished.
Reka yawned. “Man, he sure can talk.”
Roto crosses his arms. “Well, somebody has been reading the character profiles.”
“We're fans!” They said at the same time.
“Il-Ban…I remember him. He helped me out when I first started out. Then he was about level 50, so now he must be a master-level…” Roto trailed off.
“That's so cool!” one exclaimed.
“You know Il-ban? The Il-ban?!”
“Teach us! Tell us a few pointers…” they begged at the same time.
“Well, I suppose I should return the favor…” Roto smirked.
Reka scoffed. “Yech! He reminds me of the Enrique-the-mighty. I think I'm going to be sick. C'mon, there has to be something around here that needs killing.” She turns to walk in the opposite direction. Raven pulls her hood over her head and shrugs.
“Besides them?” she asked.
Not getting too far away, another player collapses in front of Raven. “Ah! Uh…hi.”
“Mobs…” He managed to pant out.
Reka kneels beside him and holds his shoulder. “Hey, take a breath and tell us what you're talking about.”
“Mobs…everywhere…” He grips his bloody shoulder and lifts his bruised head. “You gotta help me! My friend is trapped in the dungeon He's surrounded by Lightening dogs! And they're spawning faster than we can kill them!” He cried in distresses.
“Ah!” Raven and Reka gasped in shock.

…Sounds like your regular D.I.D. Dude. In. Distress. Raven and Reka are on their way to kick some butt as well as get into some trouble. Ray and kai are getting suspicious about their behavior. How will these events turn out? Keep reading and find out.

Done! HAPPY 2008!! Yeah what's so happy about it? I just wanted to get this chapter up for a 2008 celebration. Also to celebrate the 96 hits! Thanks everyone!
