Beyblade Fan Fiction ❯ Bey-saga ❯ Worst possible day ever! ( Chapter 6 )

[ A - All Readers ]

I don't own Beyblade. All credit goes to Takao Aoki.
I was trying a new shadow clone jutsu to help with my story. All of my clones went out of control with the story and they screwed everything up.
Rayxoc and Kaixoc! Mariah bashing included.
Summary: it's the year 2018 and everything is almost basically done by technology.
Of course everything is almost hand free. Two lucky girls have discovered a regular game called. `Bey-saga' and they were transported into a virtual game world.

“Ladies and gentle men, welcome to our high first ever beyblade battle tournament! But hey, if you're turning in now…why haven't you turned in before? You missed all the action! But don't worry; the real intense action should be starting now since we're moving up to the semi-finals! Okay, let's get this battle under way! I'm your humble announcer Mai! I'm very excited to be here today although I can't say the same for my co-host here…” Mai shouted into the mike while pointing her thumb towards her sister, who was eating some chips.
Sai grumbles. “…will you just announce the battle terms…”
Mai throws her fist in the air with enthusiasm. “Alright! Representing punk boys out there…are the rowdy ruff boys! Give it up for them!!”
Certain section of the crowd cheers.
“Now the rowdy ruff boys specialize in head on brute force attacks! The BladeBreakers are a tough team to beat, but with Mariah and Hilary brining them down, I'm sure they'll manage a win.” Mai said half heartedly.
The BladeBreakers sweatdrops at Mariah's and Hilary's fuming faces.
“What was that?! You're just jealous that we're on the team and not you!!”
“This has nothing to do with that, I'm just commentating on the teams.”
“Well commentate on something nicer!!”
Sai puts down her chips and speaks into the mike. “It seems that everyone is into the fighting spirit, so let's get the semi-final underway! Teams please choose your first beyblader and report to the beydish.”
One boy from the rowdy ruff boys steps up to the beydish. The BladeBreakers chose Max to go first.
“It's Max V.S Butch! Let's get this battle started in 3…2…1! LET IT RIP!!” the crowd shouted in the end.
“Go Draciel! Fortes defense!” Max commanded.
“Go beyblade!” (He doesn't have a bitbeast.)
Butch's beyblade went full force into max's beyblade only to be bounce back by draciel's ultimate defense. “Come on! Why don't you attack me instead of blocking me?!” butch taunted. Butch kept commanding his beyblade to attack max at full force.
Mariah was getting impatient with the stalling. “Max! Will you just finish him off?! What are you waiting for?” Max looked at her unsurely. Should he end the match right away? What challenge would that be? He looked at his teammates for a sign. They told him to finish the match. “Go Draciel!”
“Oh no!!”
Butch's beyblade landed outside of the beydish an automatic a sign of defeat.
Inside the booth, mai smiles at the results. “It seems that butch can talk a big game but it takes more than hot air to win against max!”
Sai takes a sip of iced tea. “I have a feeling that the next battle will be more exciting and longer lasting.” Takes another sip.
“Okay! In the second round we have Tyson V.S Rex! Okay! In 3…2…1! LET IT RIP!!”
“Go Dragoon!!”
“Wow! Tyson released his beyblade and now it's just a blur! That's an amazing launch!”
“Go T-rex!” (No comment.)
“Dragoon Storm attack!!” Tyson roared as dragoon released his storm attack. Rex's beyblade was sucked into the cyclone and was shot out of the ring, making tyson the winner. “Way to go tyson!” Hilary cheered while waving her arms.
“Amazing! Tyson from the BladeBreakers steals a victory from the rowdy ruff boys!” Mai announced. Sai was taking a small nap and woke up because it was really quite all of a sudden. Even mai was shocked by the sudden silence. They looked out the window display to watch the crowd and they all saw that everyone's heads were turned to one of the main exits. An old man who looked like an aristocrat was standing there with a scowl on his face. Hush whispers were going about as the old man walked over to the BladeBreakers. He seems to only have interest in kai. Mai and sai were confused as to what was going on. No soon later, Mr. Dickenson came running over to the team to stop them from doing something reckless to VOLTAIRE. Voltaire beckoned kai to follow him out of the gym for them to talk in private. The team was telling kai not to follow, but kai chose to ignore them and followed Voltaire. Mai saw this and had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. She had a determined look on her face and ran out of the booth to follow them, ignoring her sister's call. Mai ran down hallways and past classrooms in a desperate attempt to find kai. She remembers a bit of information she received about kai. The only personally information she has about him. Kai hates Voltaire's guts for many reasons. Mai just wanted to be there for him, just in case kai needs someone there…to take some frustration out on. She stopped momentarily. If he needs to take his frustration out on someone she should get tyson. She shook her head and kept running. She turned the corner and saw the two of them talking. She quickly backed up and hid, but keeping her head slightly past the wall so she could see and hear better. She was shocked to hear what she was hearing.
“We've been through this a thousand times, grandson. You're destined for great things, yet you choose to go to this school with these incompetents. I allowed you to continue beyblading at your own free will…but as my grandson I want you to do as you're told.”
“Whatever…”
Voltaire scowled at him. “I'm warning you grandson. Don't tempt me. That old fool Dickenson won't keep you safe for long. You will control Black Dranzer again.”
“I'm not your puppet anymore. Nothing you can say or do will make me come crawling to you! Dranzer is mine!” kai snapped.
Mai gasped silently, but quickly covered her mouth to keep silent.
“We'll see how well Dranzer will protect you, grandson. When the tournament comes, you will see that you'll need Black Dranzer's help, because you know you'll be too weak to do anything.” Voltaire turned away and walked down the hall. He stopped for a moment. “Oh. And tell the Maski twins that their grandfather is very much alive and tell them to do be careful…when it comes to Bey-saga.” And with that Voltaire took his leave. Kai could hear his evil chuckle in his head. When Voltaire was completely gone he turned to where mai was hiding.
“You can come out now, mai.”
Mai jumped when she was caught. She gulped and came from behind the wall.
“Wow. Don't I make a horrible ninja? So…”
“Drop it. What you heard was none of your business. You should've stayed out of it.”
Mai waved her hands. “Yeah, yeah. I know it's never any of my business and I should stay out of trouble for my own health, but…” she held up one finger. “When my friends are in trouble…when the going gets tough…I get tougher and deal with them. I don't leave anybody behind and I won't let anyone suffer alone because they know that I'll be there for them.” She walks up to kai and pats his shoulder with a warm hearted grin. “So for whatever reason you need a shoulder to cry on, need someone to talk to you about anything at all, you can come to me. I'm always happy to help, okay?”
Kai was stunned for a moment. Letting her words sink in, he realizes another reason why he still has feeling for mai. He had feeling for her ever since they were little. Kai nods anyway, showing her that he at least considers it.
“You do know that you're too noisy for your own good.” He comments.
Mai shrugs and walks back to the gym. “Yeah. But what are you going to do? It's just part of my character and not everyone has the gift.” She said with a bright smile.
They met up with the team; they were standing in a broken circle trying to figure out what they should do now. They turned to Mr. Dickenson, since it was him and Voltaire who interrupted the little tournament. One team versus a crowd of middle scholars with a passion for Beyblade and if the tournament was interrupted there would be a problem.
“I am sorry everybody but the Beyblade battle tournament is over and we kindly ask that you exit out of the building and go home.” Mr. Dickenson said meekly and he ran out of the gym to avoid that angry mob that was quickly forming. The bladebreakers took one look at the angry mob and ran for it too and they didn't stop until they made it back to Tyson's house.
“Okay…that went well.” Tyson stated trying to crack a joke.
Mai wipes the sweat off her forehead. “You guys and your fans are dangerous.”
Sai kept a hand over her heart, trying to steady her breathing. “That's the price of being famous. Hey, mai wanna go home now?”
“Nothing's going on here anymore, so let's get going.”
“Are you sure you wanna leave?” tyson called out before they left the gate. “Grandpa got me this new video game called `Bey-saga' and I thought we could all play together.”
Ray, Sai, Kai, and Mai tensed up for a second. It was suppose to be a secret that they were all playing Bey-saga
“Uh…Bey-saga? How interesting.” Sai said nervously, casting shifty glances.
“Y-yeah. I've heard about the game…it's um…got cool graphics.” Mai stuttered out then she got an idea. “But I've heard that the game is a total rip-off!”
“Huh?” the bladebreakers asked in unison.
“Yeah, me and sai saw it at the game store…tell them.” She nudged her sister.
“Well…uh…this kid came into the store asking for a refund of the game, when they told him no, the little boy called the store worker a rip-off artist, kicked him in the shins and ran off. So you should return the game and forget all about it.” Sai finished off.
“Huh, really? But I heard it was pretty cool game. Well if sai says so I guess I can't argue. She's smart about stuff like this.”
“What do you mean?” sai asked with curiosity.
“Well, you know. You're intelligent and you know a lot about stuff,” tyson explained. “You're the smartest person in school next to kai, but you should live a little bit more and have fun like you did today. Mai has the right idea.” Tyson smiled.
Sai's face saddens little bit. Mai and ray noticed and frowned. Ray turns to tyson.
“That's not a nice thing to say tyson! Apologize to her.” He demanded.
Tyson jumps and apologizes frantically. Sai just shook her head and told him it was fine and that he was right about her living a little bit more like her sister.
Kai started walking towards the dojo gates. “Come on you two let's go.” Mai and sai nodded and followed him. (Remember they live in the same apartment building.)
The three of them went into the apartment building and got into the elevator. The walk there was silent and the ride on the elevator was silent too. Sai was still deep in thought. Mai was thinking about what she overheard from kai's grandfather and kai was just being silent. The elevator doors opened and the three of them stepped out and found their apartment rooms. Kai's apartment room was beside theirs. When they first figured that out it was surprising and they would usually annoying each other by banging on the walls or just take a trip to their room. Mai said goodbye and goodnight to kai as he was about to close his door. Kai just nodded and mumbled goodnight too. Sai opened the door to their apartment room and as she walked in the pone rang. Mai went into the kitchen while sai answered the phone.
“Hello? Maski residence, Sai Maski speaking,” Sai stopped talking for a moment. “Dad? Yes mai's here…okay…” Sai covered the phone and called mai for the phone. Mai was gonna ask who it was but the look on her sisters face told the story. Mai took the phone and spoke into it. “Hi, dad. Yes I'm doing okay. Nothing special happened today…are you and mom worried? …Thought so…sorry I forgot…sai's…dad!” Mai yelled into the phone. Sai looked away knowingly. Sai and her dad never really saw eye to eye so they never spoke to each other.
“…Got it…right okay…talk to you when you call…bye.” Mai hung up the phone and sighed. She looked at her sister who was slumped against the wall.
“What did dad have to say?” sai asked.
Mai chuckled, “He was just checking on us and wondering how we were doing on our own. If dad called that means mom will be calling soon.” She looked at the phone and it rang. Mai picked it up and gave it to sai. Mai was on okay terms with her mom but on some occasions they push the wrong buttons and start arguing.
“Hello?” Sai said in a low voice.
“Sai? Where were you? I called earlier but you didn't answer. Were you out playing?”
“No…I was staying after school with my friends and mai…”
“What? You actually made friends? That's new.”
Sai closed her eyes. “You've met them before…but you left suddenly…”
“Well you know how busy I am in the computer company. Has anything changed? How's your sister? Are you two getting along?”
“Nothing's changed. Mai is doing great…” at that point sai stopped talking.
“You're not giving me the silent treatment again are you? What's going on in that head of yours? You never change do you? This is why everyone finds you dull and boring. I better let you go today I have to go back to work. Talk to you when I call you.”
And with that sai placed the phone back on the receiver and looked at her sister who was sitting on the floor where she was sitting previously. It seemed sad …Mom wants Sai to be perfect and be head above the rest since Sai was the oldest, and she wants mai to be as she is. Dad doesn't care about sai…he did at first but for some reason he just stopped paying attention to her. When they were four years old their dad even said that mai was his favorite little girl. Their parents were so selfish that when mai and sai started middle school they decided to them live with each other while their mom and dad lived separately. As in separate countries.
`Mom and dad can have their divorce. Sai and I are doing just fine on our own. We don't need their stupid competitive selfishness to get in our way.'
Mai slid up the wall into a standing position. “They sure know how to spoil the mood. I guess they're still not going to get back together for our sake.”
Sai was still in thought about what her mom said about her. “Am I really that dull and boring? Maybe tyson and mom are right…”
Mai puts a hand on her shoulder. “Don't listen to what they say. I personally think that you should stay the way you are…ray seems to like the way you are just fine.”
The mention of ray made her blush. “R-right. But I should still have fun once in awhile. Bey-saga seems to bring out the best of me…so I'll try my best.” Sai went into the kitchen to get a drink. “But it's still pretty weird for mom to tell me to be something else from what she wanted me to be.”
“Yeah. Wasn't it her to tell you to be `perfect' just so you can surpass me? I tell ya mom and dad are so childish to have made me and you compete against each other.”
Sai hands a drink to her sister. “I'm glad you cracked first. When you went insane that made them stop. I was so desperate to live up to their expectations.”
Mai accepted the drink. “Well we were young and at that time our parents seem were the boss of everything. It was natural as a kid to follow whatever your parents told you to do or else you would get in trouble.”
Sai smiled knowingly. “Yeah….what a day today was…”
Mai smiled and waved her index finger. “I for one enjoyed it! Sure we haven't played Bey-saga in a while but I concur that we had a good day!”
Sai laughed at her sister's enthusiasm, mai joined in with her and laughed.

Shadow clone number two: I agree this chapter was weak. Nothing good happened.
Lady Amazon: Well what do you want me to add?
Shadow clone number three: You let Kai and Mai have a moment when they saw Voltaire. To be fair you should let Ray and Sai have a moment too.
Lady Amazon: It's too late now… I don't what to put for them yet.
(The shadow clone pushed me out the way and began typing. I'm not responsible for the rest. At end chapter is where I go off.)
Shadow clone number four: Don't worry you anime little head! We've got this covered! It's going to be a whole new chapter! Think of it as a bonus to learn more about how Sai and Mai are different!
Shadow clone number five: Shouldn't we save it and use it as an update instead of one long chapter?
