Title: 1st Year At Hogwarts
By: Yume Li

Disclaimer: I do not own Cardcaptor Sakura, Harry Potter, or Sailor Moon.

Note: All incantations would be in Japanese, except for the Chinese incantations and Hogwarts's spells. When the CCS gang communicated with each other, it will be in Japanese unless otherwise stated. By the way, the famous Li Clan had pictures of Clow Reed hanging on the walls. Surnames are put first in Asia, while in Western countries, they are put last. This story will follow as closely as Harry Potter book five as possible. All CCS gang had turned thirteen during their stay at Eriol’s house. Serena and Travis remained fifteen. Sakura and Syaoran always talked using their mind-link when they are alone, so did Serena and Travis.

Summary: The CCS gang and SM gang will meet the HP gang on the train to Hogwarts.

Story: Li Syaoran and his cousin Li Meiling had gone back to Hong Kong for 3 days already. Before they went back, they taught Kinomoto Sakura how to fight in armed and unarmed combat. Sakura decided to train hard in magic, swordsmanship, and martial arts. Harry Potter and company would be in the 5th year, along with some of the new transfer students. Touya's sixth sense had returned to him since Sakura had become stronger. The Kinomoto men also knew everything about the cards and about Eriol Hiiragizawa and the fact that Fujitaka Kinomoto was half of the reincarnation of Clow Reed. The story will follow as closely to the Harry Potter Book 5 as possible. For those who did not read Sailor Moon Universal, Travis Watson was Serena’s younger twin. He was also Sailor Sol and Sailor New Moon. Serena was Sailor Sun and Darien was Sailor Earth.

At The Entrance Hall…

The transfer students joined Crystal behind the first-years students just as Professor McGonagall came into the Entrance Hall. She led all the students through a pair of double doors and into the Great Hall. All the new students looked around the Great Hall in wonder. Thousands of candles were floating in mid-air over four long tables that represented the four different houses. At the top of the Great Hall was another long table where the teachers were sitting.

Syaoran growled under his breathe when he saw the teacher that was glaring at him. Sakura sighed, ‘I hope Niisan wouldn’t give you too much trouble.’ Syaoran sighed, ‘If he annoys me too much, I’ll just ignore him.’ Sakura smiled at Syaoran and squeezed his hand that she was holding, ‘Arigato Syaoran-kun. Demo, why can’t you ignore Eriol-kun when he annoys you?’ ‘It’s a different case. I just hate Hiiragizawa for giving me that stupid nickname,’ Syaoran grumbled. Sakura giggled at his response.

Professor McGonagall placed a stool in front of the school. An ancient wizard’s hat sat on the stool. As the whole school stared at the hat, all the new students focused their attention on the hat. Suddenly, the hat twitched. A rip near the brim opened wide and the hat began to sing:

In times of old when I was new

And Hogwarts barely started

The founders of our noble school

Thought never to be parted:

United by a common goal,

They had the selfsame yearning,

To make the world’s best magic school

And pass along their learning.

‘Together we will build and teach!’

The four good friends decided

And never did they dream that they

Might some day be divided,

For were there such friends anywhere

As Slytherin and Gryffindor?

Unless it was the second pair

Of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw?

So how could it have gone so wrong?

How could such friendships fail?

Why, I was there and so can tell

The whole sad, sorry tale.

Said Slytherin, ‘We’ll teach just those

Whose ancestry is purest.’

Said Ravenclaw, ‘We’ll teach just those whose

Intelligent is surest.’

Said Gryffindor, ‘We’ll teach all those

With brave deeds to their name,’

Said Hufflepuff, ‘I’ll teach the lot,

And treat them just the same.’

These differences caused little strife

When first they came to light,

For each of the four founders had

A house in which they might

Take only those they wanted, so,

For instance, Slytherin

Took only pure-blood wizards

Of great cunning, just like him,

And only those of sharpest mind

Were taught by Ravenclaw

While the bravest and the boldest

Went to daring Gryffindor.

Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest,

And taught them all she knew,

Thus the houses and their founders

Retained friendships firm and true.

So Hogwarts worked in harmony

For several happy years,

But then discord crept among us

Feeding on our faults and fears.

The houses that, like pillars four,

Had once held up our school,

Now turned upon each other and,

Divided, sought to rule.

And for a while it seemed the school

Must meet an early end,

What with dueling and with fighting

And the clash of friend on friend

And at last there came a morning

When old Slytherin departed

And though the fighting then died out

He left us quite downhearted.

And never since the founders four

Were whittled down to three

Have the houses been united

As they once were meant to be.

And now the Sorting Hat is here

And you all know the score:

I sort you into houses

Because that is what I’m for,

But this year I’ll go further,

Listen closely to my song:

Though condemned I am to split you

Still I worry that it’s wrong,

Though I must fulfill my duty

And must quarter every year

Still I wonder whether Sorting

May not bring the end I fear.

Oh, know the perils, read the signs,

The warning history shows,

For our Hogwarts is in danger

From external, deadly foes

And we must unite inside her

Or we’ll crumble from within

I have told you, I have warned you…

Let the Sorting now begin.

The hat became still once more. Applause broke out, though a little hesitant. People were whispering and muttering to their neighbors about the song that the Sorting Hat had sung. Professor McGonagall gave the whispering students a scorching look and the whispers died down. Then she began to read the list of first-years names. Professor Dumbledore stood up after she had finished the list. “School,” began the headmaster, “Let us welcome the seven transfer students from Asia. Now, Professor McGonagall will sort them. So, please be patient.”

Professor McGonagall called out the first student’s name when the headmaster sat down, “Daidouji, Tomoyo.” Tomoyo walked forward and put on the hat. ‘Nice to see you again, Amethyst. I’ll put you in your old house. RAVENCLAW!’ stated the hat. As Tomoyo went towards the Ravenclaw table, she thought, ‘What did the hat mean by calling me ‘Amethyst’? Who is Amethyst?’ She cleared the thoughts away, took out her camcorder, and trained it on Sakura.

As ‘Kinomoto, Sakura’ was called, Sakura went forward. ‘Ah, the Card Mistress and one of the five Lights. Clow’s student, I see. Better be GRYFFINDOR!’ announced the hat. Sakura walked to the Gryffindor table in disappointment. She was hoping to be with Tomoyo. ‘I hope at least Syaoran-kun can get in,’ thought Sakura desperately. “Don’t worry too much, Sakura,” said Harry, “I’m sure nobody will get into Slytherin.” Sakura blinked in surprise, “I don’t think Slytherin is that bad. Min-chan was in it and she’s not evil. How can anyone that loves animals be evil?” Hermione nodded her head in agreement, “I don’t think that Li girl is that bad. All the teachers like her and she’d never bully anyone before.” Ron protested, “But Malfoy is plain evil and that Li girl is his friend.”

“I can assure you that she is not evil and can never be evil. Not even in a million years’ time,” said Syaoran quietly. Sakura turned around, “Syaoran-kun, you’re in Gryffindor too! I thought Meiling-chan go first!” “She’s in Slytherin. Probably to accompany Xiao Min,” said Syaoran as he sat beside Sakura, “Don’t judge people just by their houses or their friends. It’s unfair to them.” “I agreed. I've known Xiao Min for most of my life. She’d never done anything evil before. She cares for animals and people alike. She loves any thing that moves or breathes. She’d never hurt anyone for fun,” said Travis angrily. “Calm down, Watson. She might have change over the years. You haven’t seen her for a number of years, right?” asked Harry.

Travis sat down angrily and refused to speak. ‘So this is the silent treatment that Luna was talking about,’ thought Serena as she sat down beside her brother. Turning to Sakura, Serena said, “Crystal’s in Ravenclaw. Tomoyo wouldn’t be lonely.” Sakura gave her a thankful smile and said to Travis, “I don’t think Min-chan would be too happy if she knew that you were quarreling because of her, Watson-kun. Am I right?” Travis sighed, “I didn’t mean to lose my temper. It’s just that I haven’t seen her for a number of years and then we aren’t even in the same class…”

“I don’t understand why you’re complaining when we’ll be staying in the same dormitory as her,” said Syaoran as everyone started eating. “I forget about that,” stated Travis. “Eat slowly. You wouldn’t want everyone to stare at you, do you?” asked Syaoran as the twins piled up their food. From time to time, Sakura and Syaoran gave their invisible puppies food to eat until everyone had finished eating and all the plates are cleared.

Professor Dumbledore stood up and smiled, “Well, now that we are digesting another magnificent feast, I beg a few moments of your attention for the usual start-of-term notices. First-years ought to know that the forest in the grounds is out-of-bounds to students – and a few of our older students ought to know by now, too. Mr. Filch, the caretaker, has asked me, for what he tells me is the four-hundred-and-sixty-second time, to remind you all that magic is not permitted in corridors between classes, nor are a number of other things, all of which can be checked on the extensive list now fastened to Mr. Filch’s office door. We have had a few new teachers this year with a few new subjects. We are very pleased to welcome back Professor Grubbly-Plank, who will be taking Care of Magical Creatures lessons. One of our teachers, Professor Yelan Li, who will be taking a new subject called Eastern Magic, will only arrived tomorrow. Her four daughters would be assisting the new teachers with their subjects. Let us welcome Professor Eriol Hiiragizawa, who will be taking Defense Against the Dark Arts, Professor Touya Kinomoto, who will be replacing Professor Binns for History of Magic, Professor Nakuru Akizuki and Professor Yukito Tukisiro, who will be teaching History of Eastern Magic.”

Each of the new professors stood up when their names were called. As Professor Dumbledore continued, Hermione asked Sakura, “Are you and the new professor related? I noticed you two have the same surname.” Sakura sighed, “That’s my older brother, Touya Kinomoto. I think the only reason he came is to keep an eye on me. He’s a bit overprotective of me.”

Suddenly, Hermione jumped up. “Ron,” said Hermione, as everyone was leaving the Great Hall, “We’re supposed to show the first-years where to go!” Ron followed Hermione to where Professor McGonagall was. A few minutes later, Draco joined them. They talked for a few minutes before the perfects left.

Harry, Blaise, Xiao Min, and the transfer students, excluding Crystal, approached Professor McGonagall. She spoke up as the students stopped in front of her, “The headmaster had instructed me to bring all of you to your new dormitory. I've already given directions and password to Miss Granger, Mr. Weasley, and Mr. Malfoy. All of you, follow me.”

After many twists and turns, they finally stopped in front of a portrait of Clow Reed. “The password is ‘Kawaii Chibi Shison’. Don’t forget it,” said Professor McGonagall before she left. “You looked like Professor Eriol,” said Harry. Smiling at Harry, Clow replied, “And you looked like me when I was younger. Probably because you are one of my descendants. Chibi Okami, Chibi Hime, and Cherry Blossom, how are you? Do you like the password? Don’t look at me like that, my cute little descendant! Nobody would have guessed that it was the password!”

Syaoran was about to retort when Xiao Min interrupted, “Just let us in, Clow-sama. I’m very sleepy. I don’t want to stay here all night listening to your arguments.” Clow sighed, “Very well, we’ll continue arguing tomorrow, Chibi Okami. Goodnight everyone.” The portrait swung opened towards them like a door, revealing a circular hole in the wall behind. All the students climbed through and headed up the only staircase.
