Chapter 13: Breaking and Entering
--

A few more days and Touya can enter the Ookami Realm, Eriol thought, I just hope you're still in perfect condition and not married to the Lord of the Wolf Realm, Princess Sakura…

--

Their swords clashed together as sparks of flame ignited. Jin Tai glared scathingly at Syaoran as he twisted his fingers behind his back, forming a power blast. Anticipating magic, Syaoran lunged out of the way, pulling his sword with him as Jin Tai brought his hand out in front of him to blast Syaoran.

“Cheating now, are we?” Syaoran said in a sickly dangerous voice which sent shivers up the spines of even his own army. Blood tainted the grounds of his Northern Castle as corpses lay dead and forgotten around them. Not a large number of casualties happened and thankfully there weren't any civilian casualties either.

“I'm not cheating, as you like to call it Xiao Lang.” Jin Tai smirked as he formed another blast between his fingers. “I'm just using my… attacks to my advantage.”

“Is that another skill your lost Clan has taught you?” Syaoran raised a brow as he brought himself up off the ground. “Because I too know how to use Wolfen magic, but I don't use it in a cheating position. Magic is effective only where it is useful. That is a skill taught to me and my fellow magicians of the Royal Family.”

“Have you forgotten?!” Jin Tai screamed. “I am the original heir to Clow Reed and Wolfe Ookami! My family is the direct descendant!”

“And have you forgotten?!?” Syaoran roared his anger raising. If Jin Tai wanted to play dirty then Syaoran just had to play along.

If he couldn't beat them, might as well join them.

“Forgotten what?” Jin Tai raised a brow.

“My ancient grandfather was the legal husband to Wolfe Ookami. Your Clow Reed was just sleeping around with her.” Anger spurted out of Syaoran. “My ancient grandfather gave his life for her and after he died your ancient grandmother remarried Clow Reed and created this damn realm.”

“If you damn this realm, why are you the heir to it then?!” Jin Tai shrieked as he lunged at Syaoran. Their swords clashed again and all of the army continued to watch.

“Because I am the direct descendant of Wolfe's TRUE husband! Not her bedmate!”

“Clow and Wolfe married!!” Jin Tai defended. Syaoran merely snorted.

“Oh when? When they were on their deathbed? It's written in the first Chronicle that Clow and Wolfe married when Clow's first son married. When Clow's first son marries, doesn't that mean Clow is a crusty old magician with no hope in life?”

“Stop insulting my grandfather! Pick on Xi Li why don't you!!”

Wolfe Ookami's first husband went by the name of Xi Li.

“My grandfather had nothing wrong,” Syaoran hissed, “at least he was true. Clow Reed was a fake! It's because of him the heirs of this realm are only able to mate with Clow magicians. You think that's fair? My father married a woman he hadn't loved. He loved my mother's best friend but because she possessed no Clow magic she was released and my mother was forcefully bedded by my father. Think, are my parents happy? No and it's all due to your damn grandfather.”

They were hitting each others families now. Quite painful to the ego, especially since Jin Tai knew what Syaoran was saying was right.

Forming a fireball between his fingers Syaoran shot it directly at Jin Tai who dodged it just barely. Lurching forward Jin Tai attempted to stab Syaoran's face but scarred his arm instead. Luckily it was Syaoran's left arm and not his sword arm. Snarling, Syaoran raced towards Jin Tai and swung his sword in a circular motion. Jin Tai, thinking Syaoran was going to continue circle his sword, got ready to defend in that manner but in the last second Syaoran called for a vertical slash and lightly grazed Jin Tai's chest as he jumped out of the way in time.

The armies were following their master's instructions and did not jump into the battle, no matter how much their mind was telling them to.

“My grandfather only loved our grandmother and he truly made her happy!” Jin Tai began to speak but Syaoran cut him off.

“Was your grandfather's name, Morimoto?” Syaoran asked darkly causing Jin Tai to stop. “At least my family adopted our name from our true father. Li was his surname and Li shall be our name. Tell me,” Syaoran sneered, “why is your surname Morimoto instead of Reed?”

Jin Tai plainly screamed as he moved to attack Syaoran again. Knowing his rival for the throne wasn't about to answer him Syaoran readily attacked back.

Ryu was standing atop of the castle lookout towers and watched his cousin provoke Jin Tai before attacking him ferociously.

Stop taunting him and finish him off!! Ryu thought urgently.

“MEN! ATTACK!” Syaoran roared instantly and without hesitation the Li army went to attack the Morimoto army. Not needed to be told to defend, an instant bloody battle began once again as cannons started exploding. The archers atop of the lookout towers of the castle began firing their arrows and cannons on the base floor were being exploded.

“DEFENSIVE!” Ryu shrieked as he saw the largest cannon in the history of time being wheeled up. The shield around the castle was beginning to falter since Syaoran was housing many injuries thanks to Jin Tai but it was strong enough to keep away blasting bombs. The army in the castle instantly ducked low as the giant cannon blasted. The glimmering shield shimmered for a second before settling down.

Another bomb exploded and the shield shimmered again. Syaoran didn't notice any of that as he went all out with Jin Tai.

Forming a blast made purely of fire between his fingers, Syaoran created a huge power blast of fire that exploded in Jin Tai's face. Jin Tai's hair began to burn.

“NOOOOO!” Jin Tai shrieked as he chanted a spell that made it rain over his hair.

“ELEMENT LIGHTENING!” Syaoran roared. “COME TO MY AID!” From his fingertips, streaks of lightening started to rush out, ten fingers, ten streaks of lightening, all of them aimed directly at Jin Tai.

“SHEILD!” Jin Tai roared and a black barrier stood between a smirking Jin Tai and a cursing Syaoran and his lightening bolts.

Another blast from the giant cannon sounded and Syaoran's shield shattered entirely. The Li army paled.

Ryu was the one to comment first.

“Oh shit…”

--

“There are bits and pieces that even we do not understand.” Wei stated as Zhia climbed on top of the bed once again and sat on Sakura's lap. “Like for instance, the two ruling families, the Li's and Morimoto's, how are they connected? We aren't told of that.”

Sakura nodded as the information given to her rocked her body. So if she left Syaoran would die and if she didn't leave her family back in Thyrza would miss her terribly and her father, King Fujitaka, would miss his second heir to the throne should anything happen to Touya.

Quite a predicament.

“The King will not harm you in any way should you leave.” Zhia said softly. “He cares for you deeply, everybody noticed it. My forefathers witnessed the King's father and his fathers and I must say, based on what they have told me, Lord Xiao Lang cares for you and respects you a thousand folds more than his forefathers have done with their potential brides.”

“Perhaps the young King has fallen in love?” Wei smiled elderly and Sakura tried to hide the blush, shaking her head in disagreement.

“We've only known each other for a short time. He's only nice to me because he wants me to stay and he holds my magic in his hands.” Sakura tried to reason as her grip on Zhia tightened. Nodding at her possible explanation, Wei sighed.

“That could be it too.” Wei murmured, not wanting to think of his young King like that but it was a possible explanation. Young Xiao Lang's father taught him to respect women after what his father had gone through with two women. But that was a different story all together…

“Is Syaoran going to come back okay?” Sakura asked rather quietly and Wei had to hide the small smile.

“I would hope so,” Wei said in a mysterious voice, “it's not everyday he comes home to a rather lovely princess waiting for him.”

Sakura blushed as she ducked her face and Zhia grinned wolfishly. Climbing off of Sakura's lap, she shoved Sakura's leg with her snout. “Go to sleep Princess.” Zhia suggested. “You've had a long day and it's best if you get some sleep. The sun is setting…”

Sakura nodding and got up to close the door behind Wei and Zhia.

“Remember, Princess,” Wei started, “he cares about you. More than he's cared about anything ever… and that's saying something.”

Merely nodding Sakura closed the door behind Wei and Zhia and rested her head against the door.

What… is happening?!

--

“YEAHHHHHHHHH!” One of the soldiers shrieked as he took off the heads of three Morimoto fighters. Wiping the blood off of his face, he spun around to block an oncoming attack and managed to slice the man from naval to neck. The odds were with them, the Li army taking dominance of the Morimoto army.

Syaoran and Jin Tai, however, were still at it against each other.

Snarling and bearing his wolfish fangs, Syaoran waved his left arm in front of him and flicked his fingers up. Gasping, Jin Tai looked up and his eyes widened seeing a careen of boulders falling his way. Summoning up a quick black shield, the boulders incinerated on touch and Jin Tai smirked wickedly at Syaoran. Both of them were unaware of the raging battle that clashed around them.

“I will kill you,” Jin Tai started, “strip you of your title and take that pretty little woman of yours. Arashi said she was quite a looker. What do you say?”

Syaoran's blood boiled.

“Don't you dare speak of Sakura that way.” Syaoran hissed dangerously as he lunged towards Jin Tai once again. Knowing Jin Tai had hit a soft spot, he dug in further, much to his misfortune.

“Oh don't tell me!” Jin Tai faked shock as he dodged one of Syaoran's attack. “You haven't bedded her yet? What kind of Lord are you… you have your queen by your side yet you don't take her? Tsk tsk tsk, is that what they taught you in Wolfen Li school?”

“You bitch!” Syaoran snarled as he went to attack Jin Tai. Syaoran knew self control yet he allowed himself to lose it for that moment. The way Jin Tai spoke of Sakura was unnerving. Never had Syaoran had thoughts of Sakura that way and nor did he want those thoughts. He would take Sakura when she came willingly. Never before.

“Hit a soft spot have I, Syaoran?” Jin Tai sneered dangerously and Syaoran merely cocked his head to the side.

“You keep thinking that,” Syaoran snarled, “because the day you find out my weakness is the day I give you my throne!”

“Is that a promise?” Jin Tai stopped attacking and raised a brow in amusement. Ignoring him, Syaoran sprang at Jin Tai with a power ball fisted in his hand. Catching Jin Tai by the collar, Syaoran stared at him with cold and unfeeling amber eyes. Smirking slightly, Jin Tai began to whisper.

“I do know your weakness, Young King.”

“Is that so?” Syaoran raised a brow and Jin Tai nodded.

“It's your pretty little woman…”

Syaoran's eyes darkened as he put his hand on Jin Tai's face and blasted. Jin Tai shrieked as he stumbled back. One of his men heard and raced to attack Syaoran but Syaoran kicked the man in the stomach before turning back to Jin Tai.

“How many times do I need to tell you?” Syaoran began speaking. “Just because my woman is willingly staying with me whilst you cannot even find a proper woman to court do not feel jealous. My skill and awesomeness comes naturally with being Lord of the Ookami Realm.”

Hissing like a cat Jin Tai sprang to his feet and glared dangerously at Syaoran who merely smiled in amusement.

“How funny. Where you sound like a wet cat, I sound like a wolf ready to brawl.”

“Is that so?” Jin Tai pulled his sword out in front of him and Syaoran followed suit.

“That's exactly so…”

And they began again.

Chanting a spell, Eriol stood on the podium with Touya standing beside him. Both of them were encompassed in a faint blue aura as Eriol continued commanding the Gods and Goddesses of the worlds to allow them to create a rip in dimensions. Touya felt his energy drain and he realized that he felt like how normal humans did. His magic was depleting and it wouldn't come back until he rested up but that wasn't possible until he got back his baby sister.

“I command the Gods of the Winds and Goddesses of Time to create a fissure to allow us through to the Ookami Realm!!” Eriol chanted loudly. Touya held his hands out to the center of the stand and instantly a hazy gray smoke started to circle about. Eriol felt his energy start to deplete considerably but he kept on going.

“By the restriction of our powers, let us enter the forbidden lands of the Ookami realm! By the powers of the unwritten Chronicles and of our bodily magic, let us through!!”

A white light poured out of Eriol's hands as Fujitaka shielded his eyes. It was late in the night and Eriol found opening a portal at night when the servants were sleeping was the best idea. Touya went along with his idea. The white light poured into the gray haze and instantly a glowing blue colour appeared in the center of the portal. Reflecting off the colour were scenery of the Ookami Realm.

Panting, Eriol brought his hands down. “There,” he whispered, “the portal to the Ookami Realm.”

Gulping, Touya gently and hesitantly put his hand forward and gasped at the ice cold feeling he got when his hand penetrated the barrier. Instantly bringing his hand back he examined it, trying to see if his hand was deformed in anyway. Apparently, Touya was satisfied. Grabbing the hilt of his sword Touya turned to his father and nodded before turning to Eriol.

“Tell me for certain now, how long do I have?”

“Ten days,” Eriol murmured, “no more, no less. The second you enter is when the countdown begins.”

“Day sunshine days or nights included?” Touya asked and Eriol tapped his chin in a form of thought.

“Ten sunshine days.” Eriol finally said. “Days are counted when the sun is shining so ten sunrises.”

Touya nodded and glanced at the portal. “Is it going to remain open for the entire ten days?”

“Yes, mi'lord.” Eriol replied.

“Can anybody come through?”

“No mi'lord, just those whose magic was used to create the portal. Or one whose magic surpasses ours.”

“Sakura.” Touya said instantly knowing that her magic was by far the strongest Thyrza had to see. Feeling himself tense slightly, Touya turned around and saw his fellow subjects and father standing before him.

“Are you going to join me, Eriol?” Touya asked and Eriol, to his surprise, shook his head.

“No, mi'lord.” Eriol murmured softly. “Incase anything should happen to the portal while you're gone you need a magician here to keep an eye on it.”

Understanding Eriol's logic, Touya took one last look at his world before stepping into the cool blue portal.

Sakura, here I come.

--

Syaoran's eyes widened as he felt a cool rush of wind. Jin Tai stopped fighting immediately with a dangerous sneer on his face. “So the Ookami Realm has been penetrated. How interesting.”

Scowling Syaoran moved to punch Jin Tai who was too slow to dodge and took the full blow to his face. The Li army was winning but they had an outrageous number of causalities. Though they were leading, it didn't matter much since triumph would only occur when Jin Tai dies.

“Don't you have to tend to the rip in this dimension, Syaoran?” Jin Tai asked in a rather snide voice. Only the true members with Royal blood could feel if the realm was breached so that meant only Syaoran, Jin Tai and Ryu would feel if there was a rip in their dimension. Sakura would've too only if she had consummated with Syaoran.

That hadn't happened.

“As soon as I take care of you.” Syaoran scowled dangerously as he called forth the Winds of the Wolf to create and uproar. Indeed uproar was created and many of the corpses shifted with the winds but Jin Tai remained grounded. It was then the two rulers realized the seriousness of the battle. Syaoran stepped backwards and felt something squishy beneath him. Gasping, he jumped out of the way and saw a man cut directly in half, Syaoran stepping on his arm. His legs were a few feet away from him.

Disgusting.

Jin Tai looked around; his eyes wide as he saw that the Li army had double of how many of his men remained. Blood washed the entire ground and when Jin Tai made a move towards Syaoran, his eyes widened as he felt the innards of a long dead warrior beneath him.

Horrible.

Syaoran whirled back on Jin Tai, a bloody expression on his face. “It's your fault!” Syaoran hissed. “Had you not come than so many men would not have been dead!”

“They knew what they were getting into when they enlisted.” Jin Tai said in the strongest voice he could muster up but even to himself his voice sounded strange and foreign. It was only a threat bombing that he had called up but it had turned into an all out war with an extreme number of dead warriors.

“You'll pay bastard!” Syaoran rushed towards Jin Tai but Jin Tai back flipped, his cape tangling with him. Standing just a few feet away from Syaoran, Jin Tai shook his head.

“Not now. Recuperation. Next time, I'll get you and that pretty little princess. Farewell.” Jin Tai snapped his fingers and a smoke appeared around him. Jin Tai compressed into a tiny ball of light and flew high into the sky. Upon seeing their master flee, the soldiers of the Morimoto clan immediately fled, creating frenzy. Everybody cried out in victory and Syaoran limped towards the castle.

Ryu immediately rushed towards Syaoran and caught him under the arms.

“You okay, cousin?” Ryu asked and Syaoran nodded.

“Yeah. Just take me back to my castle. Now.”

“We need to get you bandaged up.” Ryu said in a worried tone. “Jin Tai didn't exactly tickle you, you know.”

“I fucking know.” Syaoran growled. “Bandage me in that damn castle. I just wanna-…” Syaoran coughed out some blood before wiping it with his hand. “I just wanna see Sakura.”

Not finding it in his favour to argue, Ryu nodded and commanded a carriage be readied for the Prince. Helping his cousin towards the front doors of the castle, Ryu hid a small smile.

So he does care about the Earthly Princess.

--

Touya gasped as he walked out of the portal. It was just a split second journey but that split second was what differentiated Thyrza and the Ookami Realm.

This place is… amazing… Touya thought. It was just past sunset and an eerie splash of the moons rays painted the treetops a pale green. Animals were burrowing in their dens and birds were nestling in there nests, getting ready to sleep.

Such a peaceful looking realm. Such a vile king ruling it… Touya thought dangerously to himself. Glancing back at the portal he saw the colour of the gate changed to Pink and figured it was because of the different worlds. Wielding his sword, Touya took his first step in the Ookami realm.

Time to find Sakura.
