Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Digidreams Do Come True! ❯ The Evil Digimon's Defeat... ( Chapter 31 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Hello all. Welcome back to this story. As you can see, it's nearly over. I didn't really describe it last chapter, since I only wrote that Demon only removed his hood, but let's just say he's in his “true form”. Without the hood, he looks like a monstrous beast with sharp teeth. What was in mind when originally writing this was how he looked for the V-Tamers manga.

Also, I'd like to thank The Air Victory Dragon, XAgumon, and Fractyl from Megchan's Digimon Message Board for giving me suggestions as to what to use for Hawkmon's catchphrase after he armor evolves. I thank you all, and maybe one day, those guys will come across this fic.

Now, as always, I do not own anything dealing with Digimon in any way or form; Toei and Bandai and other companies have that pleasure.

Chapter 31: “????????????????!”
Eiji-san no taguimare na chikara no monshou desu!”
Eiji's unique crest power!” The Evil Digimon's Defeat!

“What's going on with them?” asked Betamon.

“Armadimon, chou shinka…” The ground Digimon was wrapped into a cocoon - like what happened when evolving to Digmon - his body growing long and slender. A big wave of water hit the cocoon, which absorbed it, like when he evolved to Submarimon. After the process was completed, the newly evolved Digimon freed himself from the cocoon. “…MegaSeadramon!”

“Wow, he managed to skip evolve.” Iori managed to get out, completely awe-stricken, like pretty much everyone else. They'd never witnessed a skip evolution before, `cept for with Agumon and Gabumon, whenever warp evolving to their ultimate (mega) forms.

“XV-mon, chou shinka…” The blue Digimon's already strong body, began to grow out more so, and became even more muscular. His claws were more lethal, the wings now protruding from his back were more bat-like, and two horns emerged from his head. “…Aero V-dramon!!”

“Stingmon, chou shinka…” A bright, faint white light surrounded the insect, as he felt his entire body changing. His arms grew muscular and blue; he now had a blue tail, and wings that seemed to resemble a wasp's. “…DinoBeemon!”

“Aero V-dramon?”

“DinoBeemon?”
****
(Digi-Analyzer On)

Agumon: That's *Aero V-dramon; a perfect (ultimate) leveled Digimon that dominates the skies! With Daisuke's newly discovered Crest of Miracles, it gave XV-mon the energy to evolve to a perfect (ultimate) level without having to jorgress evolve with Stingmon. Between you and me, I think that Eiji girl has something to do with this too…

Gomamon: The other Digimon is *DinoBeemon, a bug like Digimon that's sometimes mistaken for a dragon. With Ken's Crest of Kindness, which he's shown very well since his days as the Digimon Kaiser, Stingmon was able to reach the perfect (ultimate) stage without having to jogress evolve with XV-mon. His main attack is “Hell Masquerade”, and if he doesn't succeed with that, his “Irritant Buzz” attack, will finish you off for sure!

The crest shapes of knowledge and purity glowed even brighter on Eiji, as those two currently showed the most, the next one being kindness. Not only were Iori and Miyako aiding in the evolutions of Togemon and Kabuterimon, but Eiji was as well by unknowingly lending out a bit of knowledge and purity. Just as the two had done before, the two took out their Digivices and faced one another. A purple beam shot out from Koushirou's Digivice and a bright, green beam shout out from Mimi's. The two crest lights seemed to intertwine and went towards its respective Digimon…

“Kabuterimon, warp shinka...” An electrical sphere surrounded his entire body as he grew paler in color and even more gruesome than what he already was. He looked as if he could've passed for an alien in a sci-fi movie. “Heracles Kabuterimon!”

“Togemon, warp shinka...” A flower bulb engulfed the cactus as she grew more humanoid like. She resembled an older version of Lilymon, only her body was more mature and womanly. Long, silky blonde, rose-decorated hair hanged loosely down her back, and draped around her shoulders, was a prickly, vined-whip, which she cracked threateningly. “…Rosemon!”

“Th-they evolved!!” Jou exclaimed.

Both Taichi and Yamato seemed to do a double-take as they both had to rub their eyes. Taichi's jaw hung low as he pointed. “They evolved to a higher level!!”

Yamato pinched himself. “Are they ultimates (megas) now?”

“I thought only our Digimon could go ultimate (mega) by warp evolving!”

“Wow!!” Takeru clapped. “They warp evolved!!”

“Wait…this can't be…” Zanbamon rebuked. He refused to believe what he and his colleagues were currently being forced to witness.

“Hawkmon, armor shinka…” The bird-like Digimon was entrapped in a cocoon, similar to that of Armadimon when evolving to Digmon. He felt his once feathered body transforming. His beak shrank, his wings were now turning to that of arms, but, another pair of wings formed on his back. His tail was no longer a feather, as it turned to that of a long, sharp stinger. His body's color was now a bright, candy red, while he wore a dark, head protector, which had the crest shape of knowledge engraved onto it. “*…chishiki no kouki, Flybeemon!”

“Flybeemon?”
****
(Digi-Analyzer On)

Flybeemon: I am Flybeemon. I armor evolved to this form using the Digimental of Knowledge, which Iori-kun no longer needs since he has activated his hidden Crest of Honor. My poison stinger is quite fatal, so don't get on my bad side, or you'll surely regret it!! Any Digimon that messes with my Miyako-san or her friends, have to answer to me!

“They all have newly evolved Digimon.” Jou didn't know what to make of it, as he wondered why Gomamon and some of the others didn't seem to be able to evolve. “This is just…amazing.”

“I wish I could evolve to a newer level,” Betamon muttered enviously under his breath.

“Zanbamon, Sorcerymon! We will not stand for this!! We will all fight them!! Attack, but remember, do not harm the ex-Kaiser!!”

Demon decided to go after the kids in hopes of grabbing Ken, while leaving Zanbamon and Sorcerymon to do whatever they pleased. Demon gave off some type of a roar, as his body grew larger, yet, his bright red robe still remained regardless. It was like it was designed to stretch whenever he morphed his size. The massive beast had grown to a size that could rival Shakkoumon. “You don't have that teapot to block this off!” he growled. “Flame In--” he started, but something threw his concentration. He turned to see a Digimon, the size of a wasp to him in size, buzzing behind him.

“Leave them alone! Go after me instead!” Flybeemon taunted. “I'm certain that you couldn't manage to land any hits on me.”

“I'm sure that I could,” Sorcerymon piped up, his wand aimed at the bug. “Don't worry about him, Demon-sama; I'll take care of him!” The short-patient wizard formed a majestic blue sphere in his hand, and tossed it towards Flybeemon, but the attack missed him. He showed to be quite agile while in the sky, as he managed to avoid the unusual attack currently being launched at him. “Hold still, you miserable bug!!”

“I'll be happy to oblige,” he sarcastically mocked. Flybeemon positioned himself above Sorcerymon, and aimed his stinger-like tail at the sorcerer. Like a bullet being fired from a gun, he shot at him. “Poison Stinger!!” Seeing the multitude of huge stingers coming towards him, Sorcerymon mumbled something quickly, which caused all the stingers to ricochet off of him.

`He managed to put up some type of an invisible shield? I didn't know that Sorcerymon were capable of such a thing. This particular one is highly curious in general. I now know that physical attacks won't work very well, since he'll more than likely block them off, keeping himself well protected.'
****
While Flybeemon had his hands full with Sorcerymon - Tailmon encouraging and cheering him the entire time, since she couldn't fight in his place - MegaSeadramon, DinoBeemon, and V-dramon had decided on taking on the powerful, Zanbamon. Three perfect (ultimate) leveled Digimon against one ultimate (mega) seemed a bit fair where power was concerned, so it was showing to be quite even.

“Why don't you just give up, so that we won't have to fight and leave both worlds the way they are, d'gaya!!”

Zanbamon jumped up high, and slashed his sword towards MegaSeadramon. A cross-shaped figure escaped the sword, hitting MegaSeadramon directly. The attack looked to hurt him. After landing back to the ground, he scoffed. “How's that for an answer, human lover!”

“MegaSeadramon!!”

“You two, go help MegaSeadramon against Zanbamon!” Ken instructed.

DinoBeemon and Aero V-dramon nodded, as they charged him. DinoBeemon had his claws extended, and slashed at him, but unfortunately for him, Zanbamon was able to dodge and block most of his continuous slashes. While doing this, Aero V-dramon flew up high into the dark sky, his body glowing. “V-Wing Blade!!” He launched the attack which was shaped like a “V”. To Sora, it looked a bit similar to that of Garudamon's, Wing Blade, with the way Aero V-dramon had launched it. When the attack hit him, DinoBeemon moved to avoid its hitting him. The powered up “V” hit Zanbamon.

“Great job you guys!!” Daisuke cheered, while doing the victory pose. “A direct hit!!”

After the smoke cleared from the powerful attack, Zanbamon stood with his sword out front, laughing. He'd obviously absorbed the attack. “We're too strong for you worthless human lovers! There's no way you can defeat us, and the gate will be opening up almost completely so that Demon-sama can invade your world in the way he sees fit!”

MegaSeadramon rejoined the battle, and attacked using “Thunder Javelin”. The knight-like Digi just stood there, unfazed. He held up his sword, which acted like a rod, and absorbed it. He then threw it back at MegaSeadramon, who just barely dodged it.

“We can't beat him like this!” DinoBeemon whispered to his companions. “He's too skilled a fighter. No matter what we throw out, he either takes the hit, absorbs it in his sword, or dodges!”

“I'm waiting!” Zanbamon goaded while posing with his sword. “Don't tell me you all give up.”

“I think I have an idea. You two keep him busy, and when I see an opening, I'll attack, d'gya.”

“Right,” the two nodded.

“Just make sure you guys move in time.”

Aero V-dramon and DinoBeemon did as they were instructed, and fought against Zanbamon, barely avoiding the knight's swings from his sword.

DinoBeemon and Aero V-dramon attacked once again. Aero V-dramon decided to give his physical strength a whirl through punches and kicks. While Aero V-dramon did that, DinoBeemon stepped back, his claws extended, fire forming on the tips of each. He then launched them. “Hell Masquerade!” After launching, he charged him, trying to slash him, but, just like with Aero V-dramon, Zanbamon was avoiding his attacks. He was very agile compared to the newly evolved Digimon.

The two stepped back again, at a loss. “DinoBeemon, what should we do?”

“I'm not sure, but I have an idea. Just leave it to me. Attack when I distract him, but use a far range attack.”

“Okay.”

DinoeBeemon rushed towards Zanbamon, who was acting more arrogant than he had earlier. He didn't seem to show any fear at all. “Irritant Buzz!!” He flapped his wings, which gave off a high-pitched sound, and aimed it towards Zanbamon. The sound was so annoying and painful, that he dropped his sword and held his ears. “Aero V-dramon!!”

“V-Wing Blade!!!”

“Go ahead, MegaSeadramon!! You have an opening.”

“Thanks, d'gya!!” The sea serpent flew up high, as he spun around fast. “Maelstrom!!”

DinoBeemon stopped buzzing, as both he and Aero V-dramon moved out of the way of the big, violent whirlpool forming, which landed right on the somewhat confused Zanbamon. “What's this?” he grunted and groaned, as he tried to make his way out of the whirlpool. “I-I'm stuck! Too much…water pressure,” he gagged, as some of the water went down his throat.

The skilled “swordsmon” was now trapped, feeling his energy being drained from the powerful attack. No matter how much he tried, he just couldn't get out of the whirlpool.

“Attack while he's trapped!” Aero V-dramon instructed.

“Hell Masquerade!”

“V-Wing Blade!”

“Thunder Javelin!”

The three attacks combined, caused the entire whirlpool to explode, causing a brief rainfall. It also caused the evil Digimon to scream in agony. After everything was cleared, there was no sign of Zanbamon; only his sword remained, which disappeared just a few seconds later.
****
“They did it!” Gomamon cheered.

“Yay!! They got rid of Zanbamon!” Piyomon praised.

“That'll teach that mean old Digimon!”

“You tell `im, Patamon!” Takeru said while hugging his partner playfully.

“We can't start celebrating yet,” Jou informed them. “Let's just hope that Flybeemon can defeat Sorcerymon, and that Heracles Kabuterimon and Rosemon can get rid of Demon.”

“Yeah, Jou's right,” Taichi concurred, a serious look on his face. He motioned towards the remaining Digimon. “They're still fighting.”

Tailmon mentally crossed her fingers optimistically. “I hope they can manage to hold out.”
****
Ken, Daisuke, and Iori rushed over to their partners, who all devolved back to Chibimon, Minomon, and Upamon. They proudly congratulated them, and hugged them as the rejoined the others.

Mimi, Miyako, and Koushirou, however, were still watching the battle intensely, as their respective partners were, indeed, still fighting. All three were hoping for a miracle, as Demon seemed to be quite the challenging adversary.

“Flybeemon, look out!!”

Sorcerymon had launched out a small, energy sphere once again towards the red bug Digimon without his detecting it. Tailmon and Miyako's warning was good for him, as he was able to evade the oncoming attack. “Thank you, Miyako-san, Tailmon,” he buzzed. `Now to teach this magician a lesson…'

Flybeemon flew overhead Sorcerymon, who could only stare in curiosity. He flapped his wings hard and fast, until he felt it produced enough energy to get underway. Once done, he sent the electric-based attack soaring towards the sorcerer. “Fly Spark!!”

“Aquarius Fill!!” Without thinking, Sorcerymon created a beautiful, water-like barrier which surrounded him completely. Usually, nothing could penetrate the magical barrier, but not this time, as he finally realized his mistake, after being electrocuted by Flybeemon's “Fly Spark”.

“I can't believe you did that!” Flybeemon scolded, while continuing to buzz overhead. “That was nothing but a suicide move. Your barrier may have some magical properties, but it seems to mostly consist of water; water conducts electricity!”

Sorcerymon screeched in extreme pain, while being electrocuted. After the water evaporated, the singed Digimon fell to the dark ground on his back with a deafening thud. “Stupid…bug…” he weakly snarled.

“I don't really appreciate being insulted for another's mistake,” he reprimanded while positioning himself, above the sorcerer, his stinger aimed right at the center of his body. “I'm going to give you a choice here.”

“What kind of a choice?”

“Join us, and give us information on Demon to prevent the upcoming crisis, or else I delete you right here, right now.”

He stared up blankly at the dark sky, realizing that his luck had finally run out. His protection was no more. He looked up towards Flybeemon as he moved some of his stringy, sweat-matted hair from in front of his eyes. “I'm no good to you even if I did agree to join you. Frankly, it would be the wrong choice for me. I believe in Demon-sama, and always will. I will forever remain loyal to him, just as Zanbamon has. Humans are scum, and Digimon like you are nothing but traitors who aren't even worthy enough to walk the same ground as Demon-sama.”

“So you refuse?”

Using the last bit of energy he could muster, Sorcerymon formed another one of his small energy spheres in his hand, and tried his best to hit Flybeemon. He hit him dead on, but due to his lack of energy, it didn't take much effect, as the attack wasn't very powerful. “Of course I refuse!. I'd never take mercy from the likes…of…you!”

“Poison Stinger!” Like he'd done earlier, he shot out a round of his poisonous stingers, which resulted in his being deleted. Miyako shrieked in relief, as she started towards Flybeemon. He halted the girl, instructing her to remain with the others. He was going to help out Rosemon and Heracles Kabuterimon, since they did have their hands somewhat full with the giant-sized Demon.

“Chaos Flare!”
****
“That attack Demon is using, looks a bit like the one Gururumon used,” Yamato declared.

Takeru looked up to his big brother, his right blonde eyebrow cocked in confusion. “Gururumon?”

Yamato smiled in spite of himself. He actually missed the days when Takeru was literally young and innocent in demeanor. He noticed, just as Tailmon had, how his change was the most evident. “I guess you could call him a `phoney baloney' Garurumon.”

Eiji, who had remained quiet the majority of the time, stared out at the battle fiercely, as she saw Rosemon use her whip to knock away Demon's “Chaos Flare”. “I hope they beat him soon,” she muttered weakly. “I don't feel very…well…” The girl lost her balance slightly as she held her head.

“Eiji-kun!” Jou called in alarm, catching the girl. “Are you all right?”

“Jou-san, what's wrong!” Iori asked in concerned.

“I-I'm fine, Iori-kun. I just feel a bit tired for some reason.”

“I wonder if this is some type of a side effect for her being a…c-container, like Angellina-san mentioned,” Sora wondered out aloud.

“Maybe she is lending out too much power to Mimi-san and Koushirou-san,” Hikari pointed out. “Look at the glow on her chest.” Sure enough, the only two crest shapes that were glowing brightly still, were the Crest of Purity and the Crest of Knowledge.

“No, I'm fine!” She stood as she stared at the three remaining Digimon fighting, hope and confidence in her feeble voice. “They'll defeat him; I'm sure of it!”

Right at that moment, Heracles Kabuterimon and Rosemon, had failed to avoid one of Demon's attacks, which caused the two to fall back, hitting the ground hard. The others were beginning to feel that all was lost, and that there was no way for them to win.

“What makes you so sure that they'll win?” Betamon asked Eiji.

“Because we have hope,” she told them vaguely. “Hope leads to miracles. Deep down, I'm hoping with all my heart that everything will go the way it's supposed to, and even though things look like it might now, I know we'll get a miracle, since I am hoping so much.”

“Without hope, there's no miracle?” Takeru asked.

She nodded dimly, as she held her head once again. She felt a bit light-headed and pretty much drained. “Yes, and without light, there's no hope. You, Hikari-san, and Daisuke-san, possess the most important traits; without light, there is no hope and without hope, miracles can't be filled since you have to really believe in whatever it is that you're hoping for; for a miracle to happen.”

“Eiji-san,” Iori began while looking at his friend intriguingly, “what does that have to do with anything?”

“I don't know,” she answered honestly, “but that's just what I believe for some reason. I think it's going to apply to this battle against Demon, which will allow you all to defeat him!”

“HERACLES KABUTERIMON!!”

“ROSEMON!!”

The others looked to see why Koushirou and Mimi had called out to their Digimon. They grimaced, as they saw both ultimate (mega) leveled Digimon down. Demon couldn't help but laugh cruelly at them. Flybeemon tried to attack, but Demon swatted him aside with the back of his clawed hand like he was a common housefly…

“Flybeemon!!!”
****
Back at Angellina's place, in the secret orb room…

“Oh no, they're losing!!” Meihui panicked, her heart beating hard from the intensity of the battle.

As of the moment, Angellina, Swanmon, and Meihui were witnessing the battle through a full sized crystal mirror. How Angellina managed to bring up something like that on a mirror of all things, was a mystery to the young, Meihui, but right now, that didn't matter.

“They will get through this,” Angellina told the girl gently, although, even she too looked a tad bit nervy, as she wiped some sweat from her brow. “I know they will. They must!” she said in determination.

“But look outside!” Meihui protested. “It's already getting dark and gray out!”

“Light leads to hope; hope helps to produce miracles,” Angellina murmured dazedly. “They must realize this. They can't let darkness overtake this world, as well as their world.

“Sorcerymon and Zanbamon have been defeated, but, the gate that Sorcerymon started to unlock is still opening. Darkness is seeping over into their world as we speak.”

“You seem strong; isn't there something we can do to help them?”

The wavy-haired woman shook her head discouragingly. “I'm afraid not. They will have to defeat Demon on their own. I know you're anxious to join them, but we must wait here. The most I can do is keep that gateway I managed to open, open, so that some of the dark energy seeping from Demon seeps into this world as well. It will bide the children's time by slowing up the opening of the gate to their world.”

The ex-ninja heaved out a long, depressing sigh. “I would hate for anything bad to happen to any of them….” the girl trailed off.

Swanmon craned her neck, studying her face. To the bird, Meihui was coming across as feeling guilty. “Why do you act as if this is your fault?”

Staring down at the floor, she began to twiddle her thumbs anxiously. “Well, I've never really been on good terms with Inoue, and in the past, I would wish for her to not be around, just so I could have a better chance with…well…”

“You're not a bad person if that's what you're thinking.” Angellina stepped from in front of the mirror, and put a hand on her shoulder. “Your worrying is showing that you really don't hate her.”

“I don't hate her,” Meihui admitted, giving Angellina a small smile back, which soon faltered, as her thoughts went to that of a certain redheaded computer whiz. “I just wish I had her luck.”

“You should tell her this, but we must now hope that they get through this battle.” Angellina stared up at the tall ceiling, a look of dread on her usually cheerful, optimistic face. `If only Gennai-san were here. Please, come back to me soon…I don't know how much longer I can hold on with out you…'

In the dark dimension between worlds, a stranger was running through it, hoping that he wasn't too late…

“I have to find them,” the stranger muttered, as he kept his pace up. “I just have to!” The farther and farther he ran in the world, the more darkness that would surround him, which would make him even more lost than what he already was. “How will I find them in all of this damn darkness!”

He stopped running, as he studied his current, indistinguishable surroundings. He sent out his companion to scout around earlier, but he hadn't returned as of yet. It was like he was trapped in an empty room, with no exit. There was nothing but darkness as far as his keen, trained eye could see. `Maybe it wasn't meant for me to come here. Knowing my rotten luck, even if I tried to leave, I wouldn't be able find my way back.' Frustrated, he stared back up at the sky, and shouted at the top of his lungs, “Why the hell am I here? Why not give me a sign!! Is this my destiny? Is this my fate? Am I supposed to help those children? Am I actually supposed to be here?! Am I just wasting my damn time!”

All of a sudden, he saw three lights shining brightly in the sky. Each light formed three separate shapes. The stranger could hardly believe his eyes. This was too much of a coincidence for his liking. `Is this some kind of a sign? Those three strangely shaped lights…maybe those will help decide my fate…my destiny…'

Instinctively, he walked towards where the lights were coming from. As he continued his brisk pace, he determined that he was on the right path. “This must be it; I'm sure of it. It was meant for me to do this, even though I don't know why.

“I just hope I'm not too late to help. I hope they can…f-forgive me, especially that Angellina girl, since I didn't talk to her first for sneaking here, but I doubt that even someone as level-headed as her would've listened to me. My history goes against me.”

He began to sprint once again, following the shining lights in the sky. While on the way, he ran into his companion, who had also noticed the lights. Together, they were determined to help the Chosen Children…

Author's Notes

Note 1: I know, I know, no need to tell me. Just like with Paildramon, Stingmon can't evolve to DinoBeemon, unless jogress evolved with XV-mon - another alternate perfect (ultimate) for those two - but we're going to overlook that, just like with MegaSeadramon. lol

At one point, though, I did used to think that Stingmon could naturally evolve to DinoBeemon. Boy was I wrong!

Oh, the same applies to Aero V-dramon; XV-mon can't naturally evolve to him. As a matter of fact, he can't evolve to him at all. It's not a part of XV-mon's evolutionary line. Now, XV-mon can evolve to Aero V-dramon Zero, but, Aero V-dramon Zero, is Taichi's Digimon partner in the V-Tamer manga.
***
Note 2: Chishiki no kouki, is probably my wrong translation of, “The brightness of knowledge”. I wasn't sure how to say it Japanese, so I just attempted it as best I could. Chishiki is also the original name of Koushirou's crest, which does translate to “knowledge”.
