Saga II: Aria's Heart

Setup: Aria, Piccolo and Kim's daughter, has been sent to another dimension, by the Lord of Darkeness' evil henchman, Nexxus. Nexxus was the only one who could bring her back. Now it is up to Aria to return and defeat the Lord of Darkness. Can Aria survive in this strange dimension of magic and mayhem?

Act III: So Are You Evil Or What?




Scene I: Forest, daybreak


Zelgadis watches as Aria wakes to the beautiful sunrise. She stretches and uncovers her face by removing her hood and cowl. She notices Zelgadis watching her and she grins revealing her fang like canines. Lina and Gourry are still asleep, various limbs entangled from a night of tossing and turning. Aria giggles putting her hand up to cover her giggle.
Xellos appears and Aria gets defensive.

Zelgadis: Do not worry about Xellos. We have an agreement. He is usually harmless.

Xellos: That's right. {Xellos' smile #501} I brought some breakfast. {sets the platter down before Aria} Call it a peace-offering.

Aria: {skeptical} I'm not hungry.

Xellos: {frowns} After I went to the trouble of cooking this food for you.

Zelgadis: {eye-twitches} You cooked it? ~~AN: In one episode Xellos cooks… it is the most disgusting thing… Monsters don't eat like normal humans… ya see?~~

Xellos: Of course. {cheery smile #12}

Aria: Give it to Lina. I don't eat… often.

Zelgadis: At least take this. {tosses her a canteen}

Aria: {catches the canteen} What is it? {pops off the top}

Zelgadis: Water.

Aria: {eyes get sparkly} Water… for me? {guzzles the canteen down} That was so sweet!

Xellos: {sweat drop} (Mental note: girl likes water not food… I wonder what other strange quirks we have yet to discover… better wake up Lina.) {takes the platter of food and holds a finger up to test the wind, once he gets the platter down-wind of Lina and Gourry, he opens it revealing a feast fit for a queen.}

Lina and Gourry both bolt up and scramble for the food.

Lina: Oh Xellos, this is wonderful! {stuffs mouth full of food}

Gourry: Yeah!

Xellos: {disappears and reappears beside Aria} Um… {Aria is too busy snuggling the canteen to notice Xellos}

Zelgadis: {shrugs} Who would have thought?

Aria: {finally puts down the canteen} Thanks, both of you. Um, Xellos, are you still trying to make me a monster?

Xellos: Not unless you want to be one.

Zelgadis: Let's get moving. {starts to walk down the path}

Xellos: Yes, captain. {salutes}

Aria: {giggles} Zelgadis, you are too serious. {Xellos helps Aria to her feet}

Xellos: {bows} After you, princess.

Aria: Thank ya, kindly.

Lina and Gourry: Food gone. {runs up to catch Zel}

Aria: What changed your mind? {looks at Xellos}

Xellos: That's a secret!

Aria: Fine, but try anything and I'll kick your ass to the moon.

Xellos: {sweat drops} Not planning on it, I like my cute little ass where it is. {shakes his behind}

Aria: {giggles} So do I. But don't cross me, k?

Xellos: {thumbs-up} You can count on me!

Zelgadis: {sighs} (So I'm serious… Xellos is never serious.)

Aria: So Xellos, why don't you tell me about yourself?

Xellos: I would but then I'd have to kill you. {opens his amethyst eyes a slit and looks serious} Just kidding! {goes back to cheery Xellos}

Aria: So you work for someone called the Beastmaster?

Xellos: Yes, I did.

Aria: You did? But-

Xellos: I'm tired of following orders.

Aria: Does this have something to do with me?

Xellos: That's a secret!

Aria: Is anything not a secret?

Xellos: {rubs his chin} Umm… nope.

Aria: {sighs} Someone give me a map.

Zelgadis: Lina?

Lina: {hands Aria a map}

Aria: Where are we? { holds the map up}

Xellos: Here. {points to a spot on the map}

Aria: Where are we going?

Xellos: Here. {points to another spot} It is ten days journey.

Aria: Not for me… come on. Lina, Gourry, Zelgadis, hold hands.

The three look at Aria confused. But comply.

Aria: Meet you there, Xellos. This is going to zap some energy so if I faint after this, don't worry. Go on, Xellos. It would help if you teleported there first. It would give me an energy to search for.

Xellos: (What is she planning?) {disappears}

Aria: {touches Zel's shoulder} Lets go. {uses instant transmission to take them to Pleites.}

Zelgadis: {looks around} You just shortened a ten day journey to two seconds.

Aria: {stumbles but Xellos catches her} Yeah, my father taught me that trick.

Xellos: You alright?

Aria: Just a little drained, that's all.

Xellos: Maybe you should rest.

Aria: No, no. I have to find the way home.

Xellos: The library is right over there. {points to a Roman-looking building with pillars and stuff}

Aria: Good! Zelgadis lets go! {runs up the stairs}

Xellos: Isn't she suddenly vivacious? {runs after her}

Zelgadis: She didn't even pull up her hood. {walks solemnly after the others}

Aria: Oh my Kami! There are so many books in here! How will we find what we are looking for?

Various people in the library hush Aria.

Xellos: Follow me. {takes Aria's hand}






Scene II: Kami's Lookout


Everyone has gathered at Kami's Lookout to pray for Aria's safe return and to discuss the Lord of Darkness.

Vegeta: I know that girl is tough but do you really think she'll be alright, alone in a strange world.

Kim: I'm her mother and I know she is alive and trying desperately to get back here.

Goten walks up to Piccolo. Goten has grown into an exact replica of Goku.

Goten: Piccolo-sensei, what do you sense?

Piccolo: {looks up from meditation} I wish I could sense something other than ths foreboding darkness.

Goten: Aria's tough… she'll be alright… right?

Piccolo: I'm sure she's fine. The real question is can she find a way back.

Kim: I told you to stop your pessimism! I am sick and tired of your stupid pessimism!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Piccolo: It's better to get your hopes down.

Kim: SHUT UP! I hate you! {runs into the lookout}

Piccolo: Kim! {stands}

Gohan: Piccolo… someone else should talk to her.

Vegeta: I will do it. {walks into the lookout}

Piccolo: {clenches fist} If only… I could have-

Goten: Piccolo-sensei, it wasn't your fault. And Aria will come back.

Vegeta: Kim, you know Piccolo… he is blaming himself so he broods.

Kim: So even you are defending Piccolo, now.

Vegeta: Look… I'm not saying it's right. I'm just saying it isn't his fault.

Kim: I know it isn't his fault! I'm just… I'm just…

Vegeta: You're just a mother… who is worried and scared and wants a glimmer of hope.

Kim: Yeah… I do. {rubs teary eyes}

Vegeta: Go to Piccolo… he can comfort you… he is feeling the same way you are. He is just being a jackass and blaming himself.

Kim: It's no one but that Lord of Darkness' fault and Nexxus, too!

Vegeta: #Get your green ass in here, Namek.#

Piccolo: #What?#

Vegeta: #Your wife is getting all emotional…#

Piccolo: {enters room} I can take it from here.

Vegeta: {leaves}

Kim: You are so stupid!

Piccolo: Yeah?

Kim: Yes!

Piccolo: I'm sorry, Kimberly.

Kim: Then come here and make me feel better. {pats the bed}

Piccolo: {sits on the bed} How can I do that? { rubs her back}

Kim: Stop being a pessimist.

Piccolo: Done.

Nail: #Yeah right… You are always an ass.#

Piccolo: {hugs Kim to his chest} She will come back to us!

Kim: You ignored Nail! I'm so proud of you!

Piccolo: Your pain is of more importance.

Kim: Picci-chan… I know she'll come back. I have a feeling it will be soon.


NEXT: A glimmer of hope... Aria seems to be having fun with her new friends... what happens when she gets closer to leaving them behind?
