Ch.2

Grabbing her hairbrush, Elizabeth tried to fix her knee length
hair into place. Tonight was the Halloween party and she'd decided to go as a
samurai/witch. She wore a baggy Goth dress that had to of had at least six
yards of fabric. She wore a pair of black slippers that were actually a pair of
dancing shoes she'd saw at the mall a couple of months ago.
After tying her brand new sword around her waist with a
black length of soft material she'd bought at the store for just this occasion,
Elizabeth went down stairs to wait on her friend Micah to come and get her.
Deciding she didn't really need to put makeup on she passed right by her
bathroom.
Elizabeth's mom had already left with her new boyfriend. She
always had a new boyfriend coming in and out of the house. She wandered
why they had let her mom adopt her in the first place.
Hearing Micah's car pull into the driveway, Elizabeth got up,
grabbing a few things before going out and locking the door behind her.
"Hey girl, you better hurry it up before we miss the whole thing!",
Micah called from her open window, she was wearing nothing but black.
"Going for the Goth look again this year huh.", Elizabeth stated,
getting in the passenger side door.
"Nope this year I'm a gothic vampire.", she said with a wide grin.
Elizabeth just rolled her eyes when she spotted the fake fangs.
"Tell me again why you only dress this way once a year instead
of just doing it the whole school year.", Elizabeth said turning her head to look
as Micah pulled out of the driveway.
"Because Mom won't let me express my dark mood any other
time than on Halloween.", Micah grumped passing a car that she thought was
going too slow.
"Oh, right." , Elizabeth said giving Micah a wicked grin. If looks
could kill, Elizabeth would have already been six feet under.

Elizabeth walked outside for some fresh air. The gym had been
full of people in stuffy outfits and it was starting to smell like sweat. Taking a
deep breath, she began to walk out onto the street. There was a park about a
block away that had the most beautiful trees. Elizabeth loved it there,
especially under this one tree that had the prettiest cherry blossoms. It felt so
familiar to her that she was almost drawn to it.
As she walked her sword thumped against her side. She
realized that she felt the same way about the sword as the tree. She ran her
finger over the design on the sheath. It was well made and she couldn't
believe the man at the shop had sold it for such a poor price. It should at least
had cost three hundred dollars, but she was happy that it hadn't or she would
have never been able to get it(or at least for a long time).
Elizabeth finally came to a stop right beneath her the cherry
tree. She sat down and leaned against the rough bark. Closing her eyes she
suddenly felt extreme exaustion wash over her , slowly she fell into a deep
undisturbed sleep.

Elizabeth was awoken by a stream of light, raising her hand to
block the the sun she had the strangest feeling she'd been moved, but when
she opened her eyes she saw nothing out of the normal. That is until she
became fully awake, now that she wasn't half asleep she could see more trees
and bushes than there had been the night before.
Jumping up, she headed for the direction she thought
the school had been, but what she saw made her heart stop. All around
her there was nothing but hills and wilderness.
Ok, don't panick. There has to be a logical explanation for
this.
Maybe I was kidnapped or maybe it's just a dream. Wait a minute I've
never had a dream where I knew I was dreaming. Oh shit, this is real
. She
thought as she continued to look around. Suddenly a bug that was as big as
a desk walked by her, completely ignoring her, but Elizabeth didn't ignore it.
She jumped back running into a nearby tree with a little yelp. As the bug
disappeared, Elizabeth took a deep breath," Totto, we're not in Kansas
anymore.", she said whimpering. Boy, was she right.
