Ch.6

Elizabeth sat in a corner playing with Rin and Shippo as the others spoke
of what had happened. "What did Naraku mean? What could make Elizabeth so important?"
Inuyasha asked as Sesshomaru explained how he'd come across Naraku and Elizabeth. It'd
taken Kagome some time trying to get the great demon lord inside of Kaede's hut, and with a sit
she'd gotten a promise from Inuyasha that he'd refrain from fighting with Sesshomaru. Though it
didn't stop him from running off at the mouth.
Hearing her name Elizabeth looked up catching Sesshomaru's gaze. She
quickly looked down at Shippo and Rin where they laid drawling. Elizabeth was drawing a
picture too. It was of a man she'd seen in a dream she'd had before she'd woken up to find herself
with Lord Sesshomaru. The man was unsettling familiar but Elizabeth was sure she hadn't met him
for he was auviously not human. Elizabeth also knew that he wasn't a demon, but as to how she
knew was anyone's guess.
"Elizabeth?", Kagome's voice came from beside her, "Who's that?" She'd
noticed Elizabeth's drawling and was curious. Everyone turned to see the picture of the man with
semi-short black hair and deep purple eyes. Elizabeth had gotten every detail she could remember
down perfect. She was an extremely good drawler, she'd even won a scholarship to the best art
school, but she probably wouldn't be going now since she was five hundred years in the past and
halfway around the world.
Elizabeth glanced down at the piece of paper and replied,"I don't know."
Kagome looked at her strangely , the others not knowing what they were saying only looked
curiously at the picture.
"How do you not know who you're drawing?" Inuyasha's intelligent retort
came after Kagome told the others what Elizabeth had said. Kagome ignored the irge to say that
you could draw people without knowing them.
Elizabeth looked at Kagome for translation but she only shook her head.
"I saw him in a dream I had. He seems familiar but I couldn't possibly have seen him before. I'd
remember someone like him if I had...Wouldn't I?" Elizabeth asked, doubting her own ability in
her thoughts.
"I don't know, maybe you made him up in your dream." Kagome said,
everyone was looking to her for translations but she wasn't giving any for the moment.
Sesshomaru was becoming annoyed and bored very fast. He was tired of
his brother glaring at him from across the room. Deciding to leave, he stood up and adressed
Kagome, "Miko, tell Elizabeth that we are leaving." He wasn't about to leave something Naraku
wanted in the hands of Inuyasha(He'd just get her kidnapped again).
Everyone was staring at Sesshomaru in disbelief, was he really going to
take care of another human, this one being a grown woman. Kagome turned to Elizabeth,"He says
that it's time to go." Rin, hearing Sesshomaru speak earlier, was already tugging Elizabeth's hand
to get her up.
"Umm, is it safe to go with him?" Elizabeth asked smiling at the eager
child.
"I believe so...just try to stay on his good side." Kagome said, thinking
If he hurts her I'll sick Inuyasha on him in a heart beat. Sesshomaru smelling doubt in
Elizabeth's sent wondered what the two women were talking about, but he thought not to ask in case
it was something he didn't want to know.
Letting Rin tug her toward the Elizabeth said goodbye to Kagome and the
rest of the group with the little Japanese she knew,"Saiannara!" Kagome snickered at her friends'
curious looks.
After Elizabeth exited the small hut Inuyasha asked none too gently,
"When in Hell did she learn to say goodbye?!"
Kagome rolled her eyes at Inuyasha's rudeness as she replied,"She
probably knows some Japanese because our two countries have...um...I guess you would call it
trade system." Inuyasha looked at her stupidly."Nevermind." Kagome gave up trying to talk to
the dense-headed dog-boy.

Sesshomaru watched Elizabeth as she walked in front of him with
Rin. The girl didn't look at all like a threat. What did Naraku know about her that he did not?
Elizabeth felt Sesshomaru staring at her and wondered why she
seemed to be the most interesting thing to him and that other demon, what was his name again...
Naraku. She could still see the look on his face when he'd attacked her. She hoped she never
had to meet up with him again. Rin pulled her from her thoughts though when she suddenly
stopped, which caused Elizabeth to knock her down in the process of tripping over the small
girl. Rin was giggling where she laid on her back beside Elizabeth. Elizabeth also let herself
laugh at how silly they must have looked. Sesshomaru walked up beside them and stopped.
Saying something to Rin that made her stop laughing he then
continued on his way. Elizabeth had also stopped and watched him walk away. Rin got up and
tugged Elizabeth up with her. "Rin?" Rin pointed to the path Sesshomaru was walking. A few
feet in front of him stood Ah-Un. Oh great, not that thing again, Elizabeth thought as she
followed the eager child.
Rin flopped down beside the giant 'lizard' and began to scratch the top
of one of its heads. Elizabeth, sat gently beside her and was surpised when the creature's other
head was pushed into her back. She turned around and slowly lifted her hand to scratch it. Ok,
it's kinda cute
, she thought as it made a grumbily sound.
Elizabeth stood up and stretched. If she didn't start moving she was
going to fall asleep. Making sure to stay insight of her new 'guardian', she slowly walked into
the forest. She liked it here she realized. Her fantasies of demons had turned into realities. Not
all of them were good she realized but the ones she had met ,like the one currently watching her,
she deemed fairly nice. Except of course for the one who'd givin me this nasty bump, she thought
has she came to a small stream and caught her reflection.
Making sure her sword was out of her way she kneeled down and
examined the nasty cut. With a flare of annoyence she noticed the dried blood around it. Cupping
her hands she lifted water and splashed it on her face. Running her fingers delicately over the
blood she soon had it worshed off. At least it doesn't look gory anymore, she thought when she
look disapprovingly at the black and blue flesh.
A yawn escaped Elizabeth as she sat back. "Why am I so tired?", she
asked herself quietly. It was beginning to scare her the way if she sat still too long she fell asleep.
Maybe it's like when I came here I used some sort of magic and I'm paying for it now, she thought.
Yet that couldn't be it because she didn't have any magical powers that she was aware of.
Elizabeth jumped when Sesshomaru sat down beside her. She hadn't
heard him approach at all. She ignored the urge to move away from him, she'd never liked sitting
too close to the male species, it always made her nervous.

Sesshomaru didn't know what to do with the female sitting to his
left. The continual shifting in her scent was making his spin and this Sesshomaru did not like and
would not tolerate it any further. He had to find some way to communicate with her or he was
going to snap someone in half (most likely Jaken).
Sesshomaru sat there for a moment thinking of how he could get
the woman to understand him until he suddenly remembered a demon he'd heard of that could use
tattoos to cast spells. Thinking it was worth a try he stood and gestured for Elizabeth to follow
him. She quickly stood and walked with him, past Rin, past Jaken, until he stood in front of
Ah-Un.
"Rin stay here with Jaken. I will return shortly." Sesshomaru told
Rin as he helped Elizabeth on Ah-Un's back. She looked slightly panicked for a moment before
she grabbed the saddle with a death grip. Sesshomaru would have smiled in amusement (if he was
any other demon). He quickly grabbed Ah-Un's reins and incuraged the dragon to take flight.
The only noise that escaped Elizabeth was her quickly indrawn
breathe at seeing the ground drop away at an uncomprehencable speed. He glanced at her for a
moment to see her watching him stand beside Ah-Un on a cloud. Her scent told him she was
intrigued and he allowed the corner of his lip to raise slightly. Though he didn't realize it,
Elizabeth had noticed the small movement in his features and was encouraged that indeed, she
was safe with this demon.
