InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ High School Diary ❯ Kikyo and Kagome ( Chapter 4 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
It was the end of their second day of school and everything was already beginning to get to them, Inuyasha was on his way to meet Sango at her locker when Kagome entered his mind again. For some reason he just couldn’t get her out of his head, she was a snob, and just oozed of artificial friendliness, but she looked so much like Kikyo. Kikyo was special to him, as a matter of fact he loved her very much. She wasn’t the nicest person but she wasn’t the meanest either, she had this hot and cold personality, caring one minute and angry the next. She always seemed to be pissed at everything and everyone except for Inuyasha. She looked almost identical to Kagome except her hair was longer and her skin was far more pale. Kikyo liked to cause trouble, she was a drug addict, marijuana and pain pills being her addiction, she was violent, always on edge, and didn’t have any respect for herself or anyone around her. But Inuyasha loved her anyway, he was the only one who saw past her threats and her anger to see her fear, a fear she kept buried deep inside her and she did the same for him. When they first were together everything seemed great, it was like Kikyo couldn’t get enough of him, and Inuyasha couldn’t get enough of her. Before either of them knew it they were in love, but just as things get good they go bad and fast. Kikyo’s mother re-married to a horrible man, he was sadistic, abusive, and to Inuyasha’s discovery he was a pedophile. During that time Kikyo spent less and less time with Inuyasha and more time at home. Inuyasha could remember that day her mother opened the door and she had bruises on her face, he should have known then. It was a turning point where Kikyo began to play head games with Inuyasha, one minute they were making love in the backseat of a car the next she didn’t want anything to do with him. She broke up with him countless times, crushing his heart every time, but every time she came back to him, he just couldn’t say no. Sometimes she loved him, sometimes she wished his death, and every word cut like daggers in his heart. Being with her at times became unbearable but he always came when she needed him, not when he needed her. Until that one day where Inuyasha barged into her house, and found her and her stepfather Naraku, having sex on her sofa and that’s when it all fell a part. He remembered the day after when she came to him explaining that she loved Naraku, not even apologizing for all the pain she caused him. He could still hear that conversation echoing through his head.

“ Inuyasha, I love him.”

“ He’s married to your mother!”

“ I know, but I can’t help the way I feel.”

“ He hits her! I see the bruises! Does he hit you too!?! Tell me Kikyo!”

“ No, he only hits her when she keeps him from getting what he wants.”

" Which is?”

“ Me.”

“ He married your mother to get to you?”

“ I don’t know.”

" That's disgusting! He's disgusting!"

" Maybe to you."

“ You love him more than me? B
e honest.”

“ Yes.”

“ Did you ever love me?”

“ Yes.”

“ Why?”

“ I don’t know Inuyasha, I just did.”

“ That’s not a real answer.”

“ I know.”

“ Are you even sorry for doing this? For hurting me!?!”

“ No.”

“ I never want to see you again.”

“ Fine.”

“ You can live with that?”

“ Yes.”

“ Fine, have fun fucking your father.”

“ He’s not my father.”

“ Whatever helps you sleep at night bitch.”

“ Inuyasha, don’t.”

Don’t what? Get upset! You fucking broke my heart Kikyo! You know that!! And you don’t even care! I can’t believe I ever touched a slut like you! Get out of my sight, I don’t want to fucking look at you anymore.”

“ Alright then, Good-bye Inuyasha.”

That night was horrible, he didn’t go home, he just sat there all night wanting so badly to cry, and didn’t move until Sango found him the next day. A few days later Kikyo was killed in a car accident, and his heart broke all over again. That was over a year ago and he thought he’d finally put it all behind him until he saw Kagome, the girl with Kikyo’s face and all those horrible memories came back to haunt him once more. He’d tried to play it off so Sango wouldn’t know, he hated worrying her, Sango had her own problems and he didn’t want to add his onto her list.

“ Inu?”

He looked up into Sango’s concerned face, without him even realizing it he was standing at her locker waiting for her like he always did. He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts, all Kikyo did was cause him pain and made him think he didn’t deserve happiness. He knew he shouldn’t think about her, and besides Kagome wasn’t Kikyo and he knew that. But her face was always haunting him even when she was alive, and now that she was dead she still haunted him in his dreams and now through Kagome in his wake.

“ Yes?”

“ You Okay?” Sango asked shutting her locker.

“ I’m fine.”

“ No, you’re not.” She stated giving him an annoyed look as she placed her duffel bag over her shoulder.

“ Whatever.”

“ Inu -”

“ We should go, it’s almost 4:00 and you said you wanted to warm up first.”

“ Alright then.” She sighed finally giving up.

They walked out the door and over to the back of the school to the football field. It was a clear day, perfect for try-outs, warm but not hot and Sango seemed really pumped.When they arrived Inuyasha could feel his stomach drop while Sango wanted to wretch, it turned out the cheerleaders were holding try-outs the same day and sitting over at the captain’s table was Kagome.

“ Damn.” Sango muttered “ Well, at least their not using the whole field. Come on.”

As Sango strutted down the field she could hear the cheerleaders giving her snotty remarks and shooting her looks that could freeze fire.

“ Excuse me?” said one of the girls “ This is cheerleading try-outs.”

“ I’m like so aware of that,” Sango said mockingly “ But you’re like so not using the entire field as I was gonna like get some exercise is that totally okay with you?”

Just as the girl was about to retort Kagome stood up from her captain’s chair looking extremely annoyed.

“ Eri if she’s not getting in our way then let her use the field.”

“ But Kagome -”

“ Just Shut up!”

Eri shut up almost immediately as Sango walked out onto the field ready to do some stretches.

“ Damn Princess got some bite to her.” She said chuckling.

“ I guess.” Inuyasha said scratching the back of his head.

~~~**~~**~**~~~
It was a long day, and Kagome was fed up with the try-outs, so far everyone she looked at was horrible, she had spent her time before try-outs planning a homecoming dance, then after try-outs she had to go do her volunteer at the animal hospital. In a word, she was not in the mood for anyone’s crap. She just wanted to do try-outs and leave before football try-outs started at five. Kagome glanced down at her watch then out to the field to where Inuyasha was. He was such a strange person, he was quiet but extremely rude, but yet there was something about him that fascinated her, something she couldn’t explain and no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t stop thinking about him. She knew it was ridiculous to even have such thoughts about a boy like that especially when she already had the perfect boyfriend. But she didn’t think of Inuyasha like that, he was handsome, but other than that there seemed to be not much more to him. Although, his schedule was way more impressive than she would have ever thought, so maybe she was wrong and there was more to him than meets the eye. But she wasn't sure if she'd be finding out anytime soon.
“ Kagome?”
“ Huh?”
“ Hello, next person is up.” said Yuka
“ Oh, Okay..ummm...Miss Nakamura?”
“ Just call me Ayame.”
“ Alright then, good luck.”
Ayame Nakamura was a pretty girl with red hair and sharp green eyes, she was average height and looked to be rather athletic. Kagome remembered she transfered into the school last year and was a little odd at first but then fit right in. Kagome thought it funny she’d try out for cheerleading because she just didn’t seem the type. But as soon as Yuka clicked on the music Kagome was immediately impressed. Her dancing styles were incredible she managed to mix a bunch of different styles into one routine as well as nailing all of her back flips, splits, as well as everything else. She even added her own cheer and once she was finished Kagome could tell everyone was in a state of shock.
“ Okay...ummm..next.” Eri said suddenly
“ What? No! You’re on team.”
“ What!?!” Ayame shrieked “ Really?”
“ Absolutely.”
“ You sure about this Kagome, she's a little unconventional.” Ayumi said whispering in her ear.
“ Of course, she had the best routine we’ve seen all day.”
Her three co-captains nodded in agreement even they couldn’t deny that she was amazing and Kagome loved her dancing styles. Being a dancer herself she really admired the way she moved and was hit with sudden jealously wishing she had the guts to move like that. Kagome always did what was expected of her without complaint. She knew she always had to be the best and anything less was unacceptable. He mother wanted her to be a doctor but secretly Kagome wanted to be a dancer, something she swore never to admit to anyone. She loved dance, Jazz, Ballet, Salsa, Ballroom, Hip Hop, you name it she knew it. As a girl she took every dance class available and loved every minute of it, it was like a release from her life. One full of stress, responsibilities, rules, structure, and discipline. No matter how busy she was she always made room for dance lessons, even now she took advance dance classes on weekends even though her mother did not approve. It was her break and after all she did she felt she deserved at least that. She liked cheerleading only for the moderate amount of dance used, other than that she found it rather ridiculous. At one point she considering starting a dance team so she could drop cheerleading and do that but immediately dismissed it as soon as she thought of it. Her mother was already annoyed at her lessons if she started a dance team it would erupt World War III in her house.
“ Well, Congratulations Ayame!” Yuka said with a forced smile.
“ Thanks!” She said jumping up and down.
Kagome was suddenly knocked from her thoughts when she noticed the boys as well as the coach of the football team walk out onto the field.
“ Let’s wrap it up girls, it’s the boys turn.”
“ You staying to watch football try-outs Kagome?” Ayumi asked.
Kagome glanced down at her watch and saw she had a while before her volunteer work.
“ Sure.”
After the girls packed up everything, some of them left but most went straight to the bleachers ready to watch try-outs.
“ Well, I’m sure Hojo will be surprised...” She thought as the football try-outs began.
