Another chapter is up! This chapter is kind of a filler, It is full of sweet sappiness. You may notice Sesshoumaru becoming slightly ooc. But that will just have to happen in order for Rin/Sess to be. This is the last chapter that is purely happy sweet fluffy goodness. One of my reviewers was right. Stuff is about to happen. Next chapter will be far more sinister. So yes, I am attempting to make some sort of plot. This chapter isn't quite as good, at least I think, as the last. But I think it is necessary.

Inuyasha was busy scowling at his desk. That wench of a woman had left yelling at him. It wasn't like he deserved it. Just because Kikyo said she felt more comfortable talking alone with him didn't make him wrong. That woman would boss him around like she owned him…he wondered if she was still mad…

Suddenly Kagome marched back in the office with a smile on her face. Inuyasha didn't understand… twenty minutes ago she was furious… but there she was bouncing about, looking at files, and…humming!

"What has got you happy all the sudden?" Inuyasha asked sarcastically.

"Oh…I thought we weren't sharing things with one another? Wouldn't that make it NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS?" she said frigidly. Okay so he was wrong…she definitely hadn't gotten over it.

"Hmm…you really need to know what Kikyo had to saw don't you?" he said in his mocking tone.

"Well, yes Inuyasha, I would like very much to know that." She said honestly.

"Feh…fine… she just wanted to know if I would increase the budget…she didn't think you would approve." He said softly.

"What! No way! We are already spending more than enough!" she paused and looked at Inuyasha. "Inuyasha, it means a lot to me that you decided to tell me. Thank you." She said very thoughtfully.

"It's not like I care…" he said as he put his head down so she couldn't see the blush forming on his cheeks.

Rin------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------

Rin was fiddling with her computer. She was casually watching Sesshoumaru as well… but she didn't like to admit that part. She was playing solitaire while she peeked at him. He was looking intensely at some paper. He had it in one hand and a pencil in the other, which he had the eraser resting on his chin. Rin couldn't help but think that it made him look cute.

"Hey you brat." Rin looked around in shock for a moment and suddenly realized it was merely Yura on the intercom. "There is someone to see Sesshoumaru." without bothering Sesshoumaru Rin got up and went to the anteroom. She exited the door and saw that the one that was standing in front of Yura's desk just so happened to be an irritated looking Inuyasha.

"Oh…Inuyasha. Hey." She said.

"Hey Rin. Apparently I must be escorted by none other than yourself to see my brother…like I cant find my own way or something…" he muttered.

"Well come this way then." She said "He probably won't be to happy with you… with all that ruckus and all."

"What ruckus?" he asked somewhat franticly.

"Nothing. We are here." She yanked open the door and scurried to her seat before hell broke loose.

"Inuyasha…" Sesshoumaru muttered.

"Yeah, nice to see you too Ice prince." Inuyasha said. Rin pretended to be engrossed in her computer screen.

"What do you want?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"Well…" he looked over at Rin trying to hint at Sesshoumaru that he didn't want to say in front of her.

"Well dear brother? Rin is my assistant and she is allowed to hear whatever I do. So I suggest you let go of your inhibitions or get out of my office." Sesshoumaru said in the mocking voice he used for Inuyasha. Rin blushed and tried to look like she wasn't there…too bad that's impossible.

"Fine…well you see Kikyo…she don't like Kagome…so she wanted to meet with me alone… she did and Kagome got all upset… she yelled at me and stuff… I want you to tell her that I can meet with Kikyo alone if I want to." Inuyasha said.

"No." Sesshoumaru said.

"Why!" Inuyasha shouted.

"Because you may not meet with Kikyo alone. If Kagome tells me you do it again I shall remove project Shikon from your hands." Sesshoumaru said in his `god' voice. The one that made Rin want to leap under her desk.

"Wha- you can't do that!" Inuyasha shouted louder.

"I can and I will." Sesshoumaru said.

"Humph…hey…Kagome told you I did that?" Inuyasha came to realization.

"Yes." Sesshoumaru said.

"I can't believe she did that…" he said as he turned around and stalked out of the office.

"Seems complicated…," Rin said wisely. "Though I guess love is always complicated."

"Hmph. Everything is complicated." Sesshoumaru said.

"Hey, Sesshoumaru-sama…what time do we leave?" she asked.

"Six." He said. Rin sighed and fiddled with her hair.

<Beeeep Beeeep> the phone again.

"Hello? Rin asked.

"Rin dear!" Izayoi's friendly voice filled her ear.

"Izayoi!"

"So how has your day gone?" Izayoi asked.

"Well it's been absolutely wonderful! First we…" Rin excitedly went through the whole day over the phone. Sesshoumaru listened in wonder at how happy she was all the time.

"That's just wonderful dear, I'm sure Sesshoumaru loves you there even if he doesn't show it." Izayoi said thoughtfully.

"I hope so…" Rin wondered if he did.

"I'm sure he does. Rin will you patch me over to him, I have something to tell him."

"Sure."

"Bye dear." Rin patched her over.

"Sesshoumaru line one, it's Izayoi." Rin aid happily. Sesshoumaru punched the button and nodded at Rin.

"Hello." He said.

"Hi Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha isn't coming home for dinner tonight so your father and I have decided to go out. That means I won't be cooking so I wondered if you could just take Rin and yourself to a restaurant tonight?" she spit it all out at once since he was most decidedly not a talker.

"Sure." He said simply.

"Thank you Hon, bye." She said and he hung up. Rin was looking at him as if she expected him to say something. He looked around for a minute and when she didn't quit looking at him he gave in.

"We will be going out to eat tonight." He said.

"Oh, with your family?" she asked.

"No, Inuyasha isn't eating at home and my father and Izayoi are eating alone." He said.

"Oh…" she said. She would be eating at a restaurant? With Sesshoumaru? alone? Her head began to spin with these thoughts.

"Do you have something nice to wear?" he asked.

"Uh…" she said not exactly knowing what he meant. Then she remembered Izayoi getting her a `nice' dress `incase she went out to eat'. "Yeah!" she said happily.

"Good. After work we will drop by the house and you can change," he said simply and went back to whatever it was that he was doing. Rin was ecstatic; she had never been to a restaurant, nonetheless a really fancy one. She was now way too excited to do anything.

"Rin." He said.

`Yes?"

"Come here." He said. She immediately got nervous. She found that butterflies were churning in her belly. She walked over to the front of his desk and she looked into his intense eyes. It was as if he were reading her like an open book.

"Rin, these two thing are yours," he said pointing to two small plastic things. "This," he held up one. "Is a cellphone, you can use it to call me. It has all the numbers programmed in it. You will figure it out. This," he picked the other up "is a beeper. It is so you can wander around or something and if I need you I will beep you." He handed her it as well.

"Wow, thank you so much." She said as she put the cell phone in her pocket and the beeper in the other.

"Rin, will you please go give these things to Miroku and Sango, you need to meet them, they are my brother's assistants. You will be dealing with them most often." He said as he handed her an envelope.

"Oh, ok. That's just the other door in the anteroom right?" she asked.

"Yes." Was all he said and off she went. She was excited it was like she was important. She entered the anteroom and of course there was Yura.

"Hey brat." She said, Rin didn't answer. "You know Kagura is gonna be reeeal angry that she was fired. I would watch out for her if I was you."

"Um…Ok…I'm just gonna go now…Rin said as she darted into the door to Inuyasha's lobby. She didn't need to know who Kagura was.

"May I help you?" asked a very pretty lady with pink eyeshadow.

"Hello my name is Rin. I am Sesshoumaru's personal assistant." Rin said cheerfully.

"A sweet little thing like you is the assistant to a monster like that?" the woman said quite astonished.

"Sango don't say that." Said a familiar voice. Rin saw Kagome. "Hey Rin."

"What do you mean don't say that. That poor girl is probably tortured!" Sango said.

"Well, Sango, Sesshoumaru is very different with Rin. Isn't he Rin?" Kagome explained thoughtfully.

"Yes, he has never ever been mean to me." Rin said. She really didn't see why they thought he was a monster, sure he was a little cold…but surely he was no monster…

"How did such a young girl like you get hired by that monster?" Sango asked shocked.

"Sango don't call him a monster, but I was wondering the same thing, you don't have to answer though Rin." Kagome said.

"Well, I was in deep trouble and Sesshoumaru saved me. He took me to his house and then he asked me to work for him." Rin explained.

"Oh…" Sango and Kagome said, though it did not answer their question.

"Well, hello there pretty thing." Another suave voice assaulted her ears. But before she knew it Sango smacked the source of it upside the head.

"You pervert! Look at her she cant be more than 18!" Sango snapped.

"Rin, this is Miroku, he is like that." Kagome explained.

"Owww…" was all Miroku said.

"Here I brought you this, I do not really know what it is." she said handing Sango the thick envelope.

"No problem, we will give it to Inuyasha." Sango said.

"Who is this pretty young woman?" Miroku said rubbing the back of his head where Sango had hit him.

"She is Sesshoumaru's personal assistant, Rin." Kagome told him.

"Oh…Sesshoumaru's?" he asked bewildered.

"Yes, they get along quite better than anyone else." Kagome explained.

"I see. I just don't understand why Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru get all the pretty girls. Does it run in the family? Izayoi is quite a looker too." Miroku thought out loud.

*Smack* "Get a life you filthy old man." Sango said to Miroku who had now taken up residence on the floor.

"Well, it was really nice meeting you Sango…and you too Miroku." Rin said. Sango waved and smiled and Miroku picked his face off the floor to smile at her and suddenly dropped it back down with a thud. "Bye Kagome, hope to see you soon."

And she walked back out. Thankfully Yura was on a break. Rin had thoroughly enjoyed the craziness of Kagome and Sango, but she found that she missed Sesshoumaru's presence. So she quickly darted across the room and into his office. He was still there typing away at this or that.

"They treated you with respect?" he asked.

"Yes, they were very friendly." She said.

"It is 5:30, so you should get your things together." He said informatively.

"Oh, ok." She said happily obedient as ever.

Ten minutes later he had got all his stuff in order and was ready to leave, she looked about ready too.

"Ready?" he asked gruffly.

"Yup." She said standing up and grabbing her purse. "Let's blow this joint!" he looked at her strangely. She smiled and shrugged her shoulders. Sesshoumaru led the way to the elevator. As ever the fox boy was there.

"Hello." Rin said to him.

"Um…hello Miss." He said shyly.

"My name is Rin." She said to him.

"Um…my name is Shippo." He said.

"Nice to meet you Shippo!" she said. Sesshoumaru was thoroughly amused at her antics.

"Um…Nice to meet you Miss Rin…" he said shyly looking up to gauge Sesshoumaru's feelings. Suddenly the elevator stopped and the doors opened. Sesshoumaru and Rin stepped out and Shippo breathed a sigh of relief. Rin immediately saw the little man she had squashed earlier, she ran up to the desk.

"I'm so sorry sir!" she said to him.

"Oh…It's all right… it happens all the time." Myoga said indifferently.

Sesshoumaru went out the rotating door and Rin only went around twice this time. They walked to the parking lot and got into the Porsche. On the way home the radio was off and Rin hummed the whole way. They arrived at the mansion and Rin left quickly for her room.

Rin was very excited. She ran towards the closet that held her things. She found the light pink dress. It was a shimmery dress. It had spaghetti straps and a poufy skirt. She loved it, it was like a princess dress. She put it on and ran into the bathroom. She put on some more gloss and blush and brushed her hair. She walked to her closet and searched the bottom for the shoes she wanted, they were white and strappy with a not so horrible heel. She inspected herself in the mirror and decided she looked okay. She hoped so anyway.

Sesshoumaru---------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------

Sesshoumaru was waiting in the livingroom. He had only been waiting fifteen minutes when Rin reappeared. She was wearing a pale pink dress that made her…glow. She was easily the most beautiful girl he had ever seen not that that mattered, but he was surprised at how she shone. He did not like to admit to himself that he noticed this.

"Do I look ok?" she asked timidly.

"Uh…Yeah" he stuttered for the first time in his adult life.

"Good, I was afraid I would be unacceptable." She said. He felt an odd feeling in he pit of his stomach but he surpressed it.

"Come, let's go." He said as he turned around and walked back to the Porsche. He heard her heels clip on the stone behind him. He got in and turned the ignition. Rin hummed the way there again. He found it oddly soothing. They were at his favorite Italian restaurant before they knew it. He pulled up to the valet and Rin and him got out. He handed the keys to the valet, who was quite enamored over the Porsche, but Sesshoumaru shot him a look that could kill and he immediately settled down.

"It's beautiful," Rin's big, brown eyes went wide. They walked in and as soon as the Maitre de saw them he clapped and a waiter appeared.

"Follow me Sir, Madame." He walked into the gold room, which was the best of the best and seated them in the table with a view over the mountains.

"Wow…" Rin aid as the waiter pulled her chair out for her. "This is amazing…I have never done…anything even near to this…" she whispered. "Thank you Sesshoumaru, thank you so much…" and for a moment he knew why all the old, rich men delighted in buying their mistresses bags of jewels and diamonds.

"They have good spaghetti." Was all he said.

"Mr. Takashi, so nice to see you again. And you brought with you a bella donna. What can I get for you and this bella?" a large Italian man asked.

"Two Spaghettis." Sesshoumaru said.

"You sure you do not want on one plate? It be like that Disney movie no?" the pleasant man said and laughed heartily as he walked away.

"Sesshoumaru, what does bella donna mean?" Rin asked.

"It means beautiful woman in Italian." He said. Rin blushed.

"Oh." She said simply. Rin fiddled with her napkin for a while and then a waiter came out with a large tray.

"Here you go, two spaghettis." The man said as he placed one in front of each of them. "I shall bring you some vino!" he said as he walked off.

"Sesshoumaru…what is vino?" she asked.

"It is wine." He said.

"Wine! I'm not old enough." She said.

"It is different here, you will only have one glass, but if you do not want any I will tell him." Sesshoumaru said.

`No, no that's ok…I have never been to anything like this is all." She said. She looked down at her plate… it looked simply delicious. She stuck her fork in and put it in her mouth…for some reason it didn't work, the noodles weren't in all the way. She slurped noisily to get them in. to her surprise Sesshoumaru was actually smiling at her. Though it was more of a smirk she smiled back.

"Let me show you." He took a spoon and a fork and he twirled the spaghetti perfectly. Rin picked up he spoon and tried…no luck at all. He showed her again…and again…if anything she was getting worse. "Here…" he got up from his chair and walked over to where he was behind her. He took her hand and helped her twirl with his hand over hers. He twirled perfectly but all that Rin could focus on was the fact that Sesshoumaru was so close to her she could feel his breath on her neck. And the electricity that seemed to pass between their hands.

"Now you try again." He said. He was back in his seat and Rin was suddenly alone. Her attempt was no better. He sighed.

"I'm so sorry…" she said sadly.

"It is all right, its not as if I'm going to fire you because you can't twirl spaghetti." He said. "Hold on…" he said. He couldn't believe he was going to do this…but it's not as if he could let her go hungry. He reached over the short distance between his plate and hers and twirled her spaghetti. He lifted the fork to her mouth and she took it. He was quite surprised at his actions.

"This is so delicious. She said as she chewed. "I am so sorry you have to do it for me…I feel so stupid."

"Don't, it is an acquired talent. Some can some can't." he said as he twirled the fork for her again.

"Isn't it so sweet. Sesshoumaru feeding the bella donna." Said the man as he brought the wine. He put a glass in front of them both and filled it to the brim, leaving the wine at the table. Rin experimentally sipped at it. She found it bitter at first, but it warmed her throat and belly in such a pleasing way.

"This is simply the best night of my life!" she said, telling the truth. Sesshoumaru couldn't help but think that it was one of the better days of his own. The only better one's being the day he became vice-president and not Inuyasha, and the day his mother an his father threw a birthday party back before their divorce, when they were still the doomed happy family they once were.

Sesshoumaru and Rin enjoyed their meal and even had complementary chocolate cake for desert. Rin had had several glasses of wine and was feeling quite warm and happy.

"Rin, are you ready to leave?" he asked her.

"Um, sure." She said.

"Okay," he said. He flagged the pleasant man down and asked for the check.

"Right away Sir." He said.

"Sesshoumaru…how long will I work for you?" she asked hazily.

"Well, as long as you wish." He said.

"Really? So my happily ever after has finally come?" she asked.

"Surely there is more you want to be satisfied?" he asked.

"Well, think about it. I was *homeless* my goal was to get off the streets for good. I would have been joyous if I had found a reliable source of food. And look what I got. A life of luxury. I think I could die happy." Rin said wistfully.

"But don't women desire children and companionship?" he asked curiously. He had thought that all women wanted that.

"Well of course…I suppose I want children now. I couldn't think of either on the street. No good men are homeless. And it would be cruel to bring a child into that kind of world. I hadn't fully thought of my new life I guess. Perhaps there is more to my happily ever after…" she said.

"It is on the house sir." The man said. It is worth it just to see this bella donna you brought to us." He kissed Rin's hand and left.

"Wow." She said. Sesshoumaru got up and waited for Rin. She got up and they left. The valet got the Porsche and they got in. Rin hummed again and they found themselves home. He walked in the door only to see that the family had conjugated at the front room that had the door in it.

"Hello sweetheart." Izayoi hugged Rin.

"Did you two have a good time?" Inutaisho asked. "Where did you go?"

"Tony's" Sesshoumaru said.

"Mmmm" Inutaisho said.

"I had the best time of my life!" Rin said.

"Poor girl, to think that the best time of her life was spend with mister freezer burn." Inuyasha said from his slumped position on the couch.

"You look stunning." Izayoi told Rin.

"Oh, no way, this old thing?" Rin teased and Izayoi laughed.

"How did you like work? Sounds like you had a busy day from what I heard from Myoga." Inutaisho laughed heartily as Rin blushed profusely.

"I loved it so much. I meet wonderful people, like Kagome." Rin said and saw the blush on Inuyasha's face.

"I heard Kouga came in. he gave me a call after. He said he was taken care of by an extremely beautiful woman named Rin." Inutaisho winked at her. "I think you might just have a suitor already Miss Rin!" Inutaisho laughed.

"He gave me his card." Rin said embarrassed.

"Did he really? Is he handsome?" Izayoi asked.

"I supposed so." Rin said. But she stopped in her tracks as she saw the nasty sheen in Sesshoumaru's eyes. "But not nearly much so as others." Rin tried to cover.

"Who?" Izayoi asked.

"Um…no one?" Rin replied. Dumb dumb dumb! She told herself. She had only wanted Sesshoumaru to know she didn't like Kouga and now look at where she was.

"Ooh sounds to me like little Rinny has a crush!" Izayoi teased knowingly.

"Heheh…" Rin said. Sesshoumaru audibly `hmphed'.

"Sounds like someone is jealous." Inuyasha teased.

"No, I am merely bored of this foolish conversation." Sesshoumaru said and stalked off to his room. Who did Rin have feelings for? It's not as if he cared…

Rin------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------

"Oh no, is he angry?" Rin asked.

"Heheh…I don't think so Rin." Inutaisho said.

"Don't worry bout him. He was just jealous." Inuyasha said while flipping through the channels.

"I don't have a crush…I just meant that…" Rin tried to recover the situation.

"Don't worry, we understand." Izayoi patted her shoulder. "You should head off to bed, you will have another big day ahead of you."

"Oh, ok. Goodnight Inutaisho, Izayoi…and Inuyasha." She said in parting.

"Night." They all said.

Rin climbed the stairs and found her way to her room. She walked in and immediately flopped down on her bed. Buy, her life had certainly made a big change. She thought about going to see Toutousai again and seeing Kohaku. She breathed deeply and decided she had all the time in the world now. Right? She thought on what Sesshoumaru had said about kids. Yeah, she realized all the things that were now open to her. She sure would sleep well tonight.

Inuyasha------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------

"He took Rin out alone?" Inuyasha asked. "I didn't think he would be the type to do that."

"Well, your mother helped him out." Inutaisho said.

"Huh?" Inu asked.

"Well…I kind of told him you wouldn't be coming home for dinner…and that your father and I were going out…so he had to take Rin to dinner." She said softly.

"You did!" Inuyasha's mouth dropped open.

"Well it worked didn't it? They both seemed to have a good time. Rin positively glowed. And I can't remember a time that Sesshoumaru seemed happier other than when he became the vice president." She said haughtily at her own success.

"Yeah, that girl has some sort of power over him huh?" Inutaisho said happily.

Okay I hope you liked it. I am 99.99% sure Bella does mean beautiful and am about 93% sure donna is woman. I could be wrong but my Italian heritage says not. I know it is also a poisonous plant. I like to think of that as irony. You know to Sesshoumaru's pov. Him thinking she is pretty but her also being poison to the pride he holds dear. Get it?

Anyway, plot twists ahead what not and what not.
