Chapter 8
A.N. I'm so sorry I haven't posted anything in so long! My only excuse is that there was
exam week, winter break (with little snow), I had my wisdom teeth out, and it's just been
one thing after another. But I haven't forgotten about this! Thank you, anyone who's been
waiting for another chapter!

on putting in something to slow it down later on in the story. You're advice has convinced
me to do that!
- - Sesshomarus POV - -
"Sesshomaru, do you really want to be his father?" Kagome asked me, having excused
herself from her friends with some prompting from me. Okay, more than some prompting. A lot
of prompting.
"Kagome, you think of him as your son. He thinks of you as his mother. So, since he is
your son now, and since I am your mate, he is my son, and I am his father." I paused to find a
way to say this without offending her. "It is the youkai way. I expect it does not just apply to
youkai, it applies to humans also."
She smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Sesshomaru."
"There is no need to thank me, mate. I have only done what is right.... But, by youkai
custom, there will have to be an adoption ceremony to make him our son officially. And before
that ceremony, I will have to train him."
"Mmhmmm.... Hey, Sesshomaru, do you know that youre adorable when youre
thinking?"
My eyes narrowed. This Sesshomaru? Adorable?
"In a good way of course, Sesshy!"
Sesshy?
She laughed at my expression. Laughed! At me! I growled. The nerve of this woman
surprises me every time. I'll have to teach her manners. Moving quickly, I got behind her and
lightly bit down on her neck. She froze and went limp in my grip. "Sesshy?" I questioned.
"Hey, everyone calls you Sesshy behind your back. Sometimes they call you Fluffy too."
She caught sight of my expression and stopped. "Okay! Okay! So I made that up, or at least the
whole Fluffy part. But it fits, Sesshomaru! Inuyasha called you Sesshy. Well, actually, he called
you his ,,stiff, superior brother most of the time."
I started growling low in my throat at the mention of my brother.
"Hey, Sesshomaru! Im yours now. He has no hold on me. Im yours, Im your mate."
I didnt stop growling although I did calm down a great deal. Mine, she's mine. Calm
down.
"Stop growling." When I didnt listen to her command, she quickly bit the lobe of my
ear. I stopped growling.
"Kagome."
"Sorry, I dont know why I did that."
"Youkai instincts. Apparently yours are starting to kick in."
"Oh."
"Yeah. Youre still tired, correct?"
She nodded slowly. "Alright! Alright! Ill go to sleep. But youre going to stay with me,
right?" She laid down on the bed in my room but still looked at me trying to discover my answer.
"Yes."
"Mmmm.....you should get some sleep too."
I nodded and laid down next to her. Good night, mate. I love you."
A.N. Okay, I changed some sentences and added one or two in the chapter before this.
Hopefully I'll finish the next chapter soon. I have the plot all laid out, so it shouldn't take
as long. Once again, I'm sorry for not updating for such a long time! Thank you for
