By the time that I had finished searching every inch of the cave for any signs of the hooded person I realized that it was hopeless. He had literally disappeared into

thin air. I exited the cave with a small frown on my face. I looked up into the sky it’s getting late. I proceeded down the beach to look for Laguna. I found him

along with the soon to be completed raft by the shore. Seeing that he was distracted I ran up behind him to surprise him. It was then that I noticed what the object in

his hand was. I stopped and it was then he noticed my presence. He whirled around blushing tucking the object into his pocket. He gave me a lopsided grin “hey,

Sora did you get everything?” He asked. “uh….yeah” I stated quickly. He gave a deep sigh. “You saw it didn’t you” he said fishing the ring back out of his pocket.

“Sorry” I said feeling a little guilty. I looked down at the silver band. She’s going to love it I replied smiling at him. Laguna gave a nervous laugh. “You think so?” I

nodded. “I just thought I’d giver her something ya know? so she’ll think of me while I’m gone.” We both fell into a thoughtful silence. Finally Laguna threw his hands

into the air and began to stretch. “Remember tomorrows the big day we should rest up” I nodded. He began to head down the beach. “Hey Sora find Riku for me

will ya? I haven’t seen him for a while.” “Sure thing” I replied. I took my time finding Riku and by the time I found him the sun was beginning to set. He was sitting

on the edge of the dock staring intently at the setting sun. I walked up behind him and sat down next to him with a smile. His eyes remained on the sky. “You ok?” I

asked noticing his strange expression. Without turning his head he said without warning “Sora, let’s take the raft and go-just the two of us.” My eyes widened in

surprise “Huh?” I stammered. “Just kidding” he said quickly noticing my startled expression. He smiled and I tried not to look hurt. What was with him? “You

know, I was a little afraid at first, but now I'm ready. No matter where I go or what I see, I know I can always come back here. Right?” He turned waiting for me to

reply. He seemed to want, no need, some kind of reassurance. His eyes had a worried look to them. “Yhea, Of course” I said smiling brightly. The worried look in

his eyes faded and he returned the smile. “That’s good he said nodding to himself.” “Sora?” he said softly after a moment of silence “Don’t ever change.” I looked at

him one eyebrow raised. “I just can't wait. Once we set sail” His smile grew brighter “it'll be great.”

***Laguna’s POV***

I sat nervously on the beach staring into the star filled sky. I had asked Raine to meet me here. I was just now trying to rehearse what I was going to say to her. As I

continued to plan. I heard the sound of approaching footsteps and stood quickly. Raine approached with her heartwarming smile meant only for Me. I smiled back at

her and began to walk toward her when I suddenly felt a familiar cramp start up in my leg. My smile wavered a bit and I gave a nervous laugh at Raines suddenly

worried expression. I rubbed my head embarrassed by my predicament. Shoot, this always happens when I’m nervous. Laguna? She asked behind me as I

turned around to try to compose myself. “Ok, It’s now or never” I thought. I Quickly removed the ring from my pocket. “What are you hiding?” she asked tilting

her head and smiling slightly. She placed a hand on my shoulder. I turned quickly and grabbing her wrist, gently slipped the glittering band onto her finger. Her eyes

widened in surprise. I blushed and said quickly “I hope it’s ok.” I then raised my own hand to show her the identical band that was placed on my own finger. she

looked into my eyes and I was surprised to find tears beginning to form. She smiled and threw herself against me. “Thank you” she whispered. I heaved a sigh of

relief and wrapped my arms around her. “No…thank you" I whispered quietly.
