"What the hell man!" He pulled the hooker off and threw her clothes. "Get out! And take your damn drugs with you."

"Hey man, there's no need for that. It's all good brother," he laughed. "I've got plenty of money here." He pulled out a pillow case and dumped money onto the ground.

Patrick paled and shook his head. "Where did you get that from."

"The bank," he smirked.

"I think I'm going to go over to his place...maybe tell him so he doesn't freak out later..." Leia said.

"That would be the smart thing to do," Gabe said. They drove to Patrick's house and pulled up just as the hooker was leaving. "That...can not be good."

"He sleeps with hookers?"

Leia walked up to the door and knocked.

"Damnit Shamus! I put my neck out for you. How could you do this to me!?" He growled in frustration. "I swear to god! If that's the cops at the door-"

He stopped when he opened it to see Leia. "L-Leia?"

She waved with her cast. "I'm sure this is a bad time with the hooker leaving and all but I need to tell you something." She looked pass him at his house. "Wow...you need a house maid..."

"Trust me, what I need is a new family," he said as he looked back at Shamus.

"Who's the lass?"

"None of your business!" He looked back at her and sighed. "Whatever you think...it's not correct. She wasn't mine she was his.

Leia looked back at Rio and Gabe who were standing at the car. "Yeah, I really don't care," she said to him. "Look...I paid for your bills for like six months and I paid off your loan. I know you want me to stay away from you but...Is that money in a pillow case?" She groaned. "Did you rob a bank? I can take care of that if you want."

"Can you?" Shamus looked happy at that prospect.

"No!" He quickly slipped outside and shut the door before looking back at Leia. "Why...I mean...." Taking a deep breath, he smiled. "Thank you, Leia, but I'd rather you not get mixed up in my brother's stupid schemes."

"Yes well...if you are mixed up in it I'd rather you not end up in jail. I'll make you a deal, I'll make sure you get out scott free but I'll let him take the fall, ok?" she smiled. Rio and Gabe groaned.

"Leia, if he's involved in something illegal...you shouldn't help. It's better to stay away," Gabe called.

"Stay out of my conversation, Gabe!"

He smirked at that. "I would love your help, but even though my brother is an idiot I can't let him rot in jail."

She sighed. "Then I'll have to take care of you both, but the money will need to be returned." She flipped open her phone. "Hey, I need to talk to John." She was put on hold and she held out her hand. "The money."

"No problem. Hold on just a second." He went inside. Almost as soon as he shut the door there was a lot of yelling, followed by a scuffle and the sound of things breaking. Then just as quickly as it began it went deathly silent. A second later Patrick opened up the door, his shirt torn, a broken nose, and a fat lip, but at least he had the money all scooped up. "Shamus wasn't so quick to oblige."

"So I see," she said. She looked at Gabe who brought over a different bag and put the money in it. "John, be a doll. I need your help. No questions asked. K?" She smiled. "Perfect. Meet me at the corner on Fifth, k?" She hung up. "Please, kick your brother out. It puts a damper in things." She patted his shoulder with her cast and walked to the car.

"Leia," he said as she started to leave. He wanted to thank her for getting his brother out of this mess, but instead he just nodded. "It's good to see that you made it back safely."

She looked at Gabe. "Do you have to tell him everything?"

"I didn't say a word!" he said innocently. "Rio!?!"

"I said nothing!"

"It wasn't that hard to surmise," he told her. "What happened to your arm?"

She shrugged. "Nothing important," she said and got into the car. She glanced at him once more before Rio drove off.

They met John on the corner and Leia paid him some money to cover the whole thing. It was nearly three hours later when they were finally able to go home.

It was night fall before Patrick managed to get his house cleaned up. Shamus had left after their fight, but there was no telling if or when he would be back. Patrick didn't bother leaving the door unlocked, he didn't want to invite the bastard back. He was his brother, and he loved him, but love only went so far.

On Sunday, Leia went to the drug store. She hopped on the counter and smiled at Nathan. "I thought you were avoiding me."

"No, I went to Italy," she said. She pulled something from her pocket and set it on the counter. It was a charm. "Brought you back something."

He smiled. "I'm lucky."

"Of course you are."

"I have to close up soon."

"Got a car?" He nodded. "Want to catch up?" He nodded again.

"Pardon me but do you have-" Patrick stopped when he saw the scene before him. "Oh! Sorry, I was just looking for some disinfectant."

"Aisle three on the left towards the beginning," Nathan said.
Leia hopped off the counter and went to the drinks. She looked at Patrick as she pulled out a coke. It was August so she was wearing short shorts and a tank top.

"How are you doing?" he asked, noticing the way she glanced at him while he got the disinfectant he'd been needing for the past few days.

She shrugged. "Fine," she said. Nathan went in the back to do inventory and she looked back at Patrick. "I took care of that thing for you. There won't be any problems."

The relief washed over him as he smiled at her. "Thank you," he smiled. "My brother isn't a good person, but he's family. I couldn't have bared to see him go to jail again."

She nodded as she opened the coke and started drinking it. "He move out yet?"

"Uh...yes...and no," he admitted. "He's only come by twice since then."

"Since yesterday?" Wow, how annoying.

"Yeah," he laughed. "The first time was to try and get his...coke back," he said in a whisper in case anyone could hear them. "The second time was to borrow money."

"That's not family," she said. Nathan came back from the back and looked up at her. "I'll see you later I suppose...I have a date. He's closing soon so I would hurry," she said then walked back to the front. She put her card down for the coke.

"You don't have to pay. I got you," Nathan said. She smiled. That was a first.

She had a date? With who? Taking the disinfectant up, he paid for it, making small talk with Nathan about school. It was then that he realized that Leia was staying. Her date was with Nathan. "Oh," he whispered to himself upon realizing this fact. He nodded to them, wishing them a goodnight before hurrying out to his car.

After he was gone, Nathan locked up. Leia walked with him to the car and crawled in the backseat. Nathan crawled in over her, closing the door behind him.

"She has a date," he muttered to himself. He couldn't believe it. This was good, right? "I bet they'll have fun... A little dinner. A movie. Walk in the park." Yes, it would be a good date indeed.... Hopefully not too good though.

Nathan pulled Leia's tank top off and she pulled his shirt off. He ran kisses over her neck and jaw line while slowly taking off her bra. Leia closed her eyes and started to slowly undo his jeans. Even with her cast on, it didn't matter. Sex was sex.

Patrick sat at home, eating a TV dinner while watching the news and grading papers. He looked over Nathan's paper that he wrote, inspired by Romeo and Juliet. "I thought I told them not to do this one," he sighed as he began reading through the usual drivel.

Thirty minutes later, Leia slipped out of the car. She watched at Nathan got out behind her. His hands washed over her body as he kissed her neck. "When can I see you again?"

She pulled back. "I don't know. I promised not to do anything in school again so not for a while. Maybe next weekend." She knew he meant when could he fuck her again.

"Go straight home. It's late. You shouldn't be out," he said as he walked her to her car.

"You do know that this is just sex right?"

He smiled and nodded. "I don't date either, Leia. No strings."

She smirked and got in her car. "Good."

Patrick picked up the phone and dialed Rio's number. "Hey, Rio this is Patrick. I was hoping to discuss your report with you. Do you have a minute?"

"Sure, though I don't know why it would matter, I'm not in your class anymore." He looked up from the phone as Leia walked in. "You missed dinner. What took you at the drug store?"

"I fucked him in his car," she said and walked to her room.

Gabe shot up from his seat. "Did you use protection!?!"

"He works at a drugs store, duh," she rolled her eyes.

Patrick's eyes widened as he heard the conversation over the phone. That was their date? Screwing in the car? He groaned into the phone, wishing he hadn't heard that. "The reason I was calling, Rio, was because I have to turn in your papers to for an assessment. I find myself in need of a teaching assistant, and I was curious if you'd like the position. It wouldn't be that much, just setting up lesson plans and helping grading papers."

"Yes!" Rio said quickly. "That would look great on my college applications!"

Leia stopped at her door way to look at Rio. "What's that all about?"

Rio told Gabe and Leia and Leia nodded. "Wow...does that mean you'll be staying after school?"

"I don't know, does it matter?"

"It's cutting into 'me' time. And since Leia is sleeping with Nathan, she'll never be home!"

"I'm not a whore, Gabe! I'm not going to screw him every night!" she snapped. "It's not like we're dating. It's just a pass time."

Patrick yelled through the phone so they could hear him. "I'm still on the line and I'd rather not hear about who she's screwing," he said, quickly regaining his composure a second later. "Anyway, Rio, I'm glad that you're willing to take the position. I couldn't think of anyone better. Tomorrow during break if you'll stop in we'll talk about everything I expect of you."

"I'll be there," he said and hug up the phone. "Let's celebrate!"

"We can try that new thing in bed..."

Leia groaned. "And you wonder why I need to screw the drug store guy..."

The next morning Patrick got up and taught his class with his usual vigor. Of course some of his students were less than pleased with their reports considering a good majority of them had failed. That's what they get about writing about Romeo and Juliet. The only thing they changed was that they lived at the end....

He was rather pleased to write a failing grade on Nathan's paper, but he couldn't fathom why. "If you follow my instructions and rewrite your papers I will throw out this bad grade," he promised as the sulking class left for break.

"Got an F," Nathan said as he put the paper in front of Leia.

"That's because you wrote about Shakespeare's dumbest play. It deserves an F," she said shrugging.

He smirked. "I liked the play."

"You're going to die for saying that," she said sternly.
