"I don't know the first thing about any of this stuff," he said, nodding to all the doctors and nurses around him. "I just wanted to make certaineverything was okay."
They started walking out. "Well, I paid the staff off so no one will find out about the kid until I show. I don't want you telling anyone either. That means not telling your nosy sister. Last thing I need is her on my front step demanding me doing something." She smirked.
Gabe took her hand and Rio took the other. "We can look after her."
"Gabe, I'm not liking this snippy side of you. It's much better when your sugar," Leia said honestly. "He's the dad. He's going to be a part of the ok?" He groaned.
"Gabe, I know ye don't like me very much. That is fine. I realize that I shouldn't have done what I did, but I don't regret my decision. That is my child growing inside of her, and I wish to be there every step of the way for it."
Gabe rolled his eyes but Rio smiled. "That's very responsible of you," Rio said.
"My first really baby doctor day is about a month from now. You are welcome to come. We can say you're there for 'moral support.'"
"Well, I am the oldest one here. I would hope that I'm responsible." One month. One month out of nine. Taking a deep breath, he nodded. "Alright. I will definitely be there for you."
"I don't need you there for me," she stated. "Let me make that clear to you. There is no love between us and no obligation either." She stopped in the parking lot. "We should talk some things over. I'll come over to your place tonight," she said.
"Of course. You still have the key. Just let yourself in."
She nodded. "I'll see you tonight then." She got in the car with the boys and waved to Patrick as they drove off.
He went home. What else could he do? His entire day was in a daze. He just sat there, staring at the clock, waiting for her to come over so they could talk this over.
A few hours later, Leia came in and shut the door behind her. Already she was having syptoms. She had thrown up three times today and her lower back was killing her. All she wanted to do was sleep. She laid back on his bed. "Hello."
"Hey. You don't look so good. How are you feeling?" He walked over to her. Lifting her legs up, he sat down and propped her legs on him.
"Like I'm pregnant," she groaned. She sat up. "So...I came here to talk. First things first. Are we over?"
"No," he told her. "No, we're not over."
"And you don't love me?"
"I care about you, but no, I do not love you," he said, hating how it sounded. "What are your feelings toward me?"
She smirked. "That's a little personal to ask."
"You're having my child; and you just asked me the same thing," he said with a small smile. "I think we've been more than 'personal.’"
"I don't share my emotions, Mr. McClain. They are mine," she said and laid back on the bed. "We have fun and now I'm having your kid which kinda sucks because I have to carry it, but other than that...all is good so I don't see why you need to know more."
So there was more. If she didn't feel something toward him then she would have told him so. His hand reached out and slowly began to stroke her stomach. "It's hard to believe that something is going to be growing inside of there."
She stiffened. "Until it's big enough for me to show," she grabbed his hand and moved it from her stomach, "let's pretend there is nothing in there, ok?"
He nodded, moving his hand down lower instead. "I can do that," he promised.
"How in the world can you think of sex when sex is what got you into this?" she smirked.
"It's easy. All I have to do is picture younaked, or better yet picture your lips wrapped around a certain part of me," he joked.
She sat up on his elbows. "Honestly, I can't understand why you still want to be with me after all this. You don't love me, and you got a sixteen year old pregnant. Most guys would stop fucking the problem."
"What can I say. Try as I might I'm addicted to you, Leia."
"That doesn't answer it though. Seems a little stupid to keep screwing me when screwing me got you in this mess."
"Well, why do you still want to come over here? I knocked you up and can't even own up to it. I would think that you'd hate me considering you now have to go through nine months of hell."
She shrugged. "Even if it were some other guy that knocked me up, I won't really be all that mad. I was there too. I said yes and I saw the condom break. If I didn't have the money to care for the kid, then maybe I'd be pissed, but really...it's not all that bad."
He smirked and kissed her cheek. "I'll remind you of that eight months down the road when you're fat and can't walk."
"The best thing about being rich...I can get my figure back with surgery," she smirked. "I can deal with the pain and fatness because I know it will eventually end."
He kissed her jaw line, slowly working his way to her lips. "I see."
"I'm not the hating type, Mr. McClain. You have to really fuck me over to make me hate you...or kill my mother," she joked. "Plus...you’re a good ride."
He stopped, gently biting her jaw. "You haven't ridden me yet," he smirked.
"Funny thing about that...I like being ridden more than actually riding."
He had to pause to think about that. "Yes, well, I like it a lot of different ways."
She laughed. "I'm sure you do." She pulled back. "There is something that I've been meaning to ask you these past few weeks. Are we excusive?"
He quirked an eyebrow at that. "What do you mean?"
"I mean...are we dating just each other or do we have an open relationship?"
"If you're asking if I've screwed anyone else...then no. Nor do I plan to."
"That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking if the opportunity were to arrive, would you ask me to only screw you. Another words, are we official or are we just fooling around?" How much clearer could she get?
She wanted to know if they were really together. "You're carrying my child," he told her. "I think that qualifies as us being more than official. This is certainly not just screwing around."
"Just because I'm having a kid doesn't mean that it should change anything."
"It some ways it does." He looked at her, trying to see what was going on in that head of hers. "We've been going on dates and being intimate for two weeks now. I sort of figured we were already going out. I just never really defined it by words."
"So before you found out I'm having a baby, you thought we were official?"
He nodded.
"Good to know." Grabbing her phone she dialed Nathan. "Plans for this weekend are cancelled. I'm dating now." He said something and she growled. "Yes I'm serious. I know I said I don't date but now I do." He said something else. "No, no more fooling around. I'm serious." She hung up the phone and laid back again.
"So...you were going to screw Nathan this weekend?"
She shrugged. "I had plans to. But I changed them."
"So to you...we were nothing more than fooling around." He wasn't upset by that, he was simply confirming what he had already thought.
"Yeah. We were just friends with beniefits."
"And now that we're dating?"
"I called it off. He's not the dating type so it's not like I can date him too. We had fun for a bit, now it's over," she said shrugging.
His fingers held her chin so that she could look at him. He moved over her crawling on top of her until their faces were just inches apart. "I want you to promise me something else then."
"How many promises do I have to make to you in one day?"
"The first one is null void because I won't be going to jail," he told her with a smirk.
"Oh if you are going to badger me about it," she smirked.
"I want you to promise me that until our baby is out of you, that I will be the only man to touch you."
Not that she planned on screw random people... "Why exactly should I promise that?"
"Because, until that point...I want you to be mine and only mine."
"Again...why?"
"Because I don't want to share you with other guys." How much clearer could he get on that little fact. She was his. That was all there was to it.
She smiled. "Why?"
His lips curled into a frown, his long red hair falling onto her face. "Because you're mine."
Her smile slowly faded. "That's...a little creepy..." she said honestly. "I can't be yours...it's like a contradiction. If you don't love me, how can I be yours?"
"You're having my child. I just...don't want to think about other guys touching you while my child grows inside of you."
"You completely avoided the question and might I add that it's my body and my child too so if I want to fuck the whole police team, I'll do it."
He rolled his eyes and sat up on her. "You're right. I can't stop you from screwing the whole police team if you so desire."
Wow, he was just giving up. "Well, you are very boring."
"I'm only boring when I'm sober," he said. Crawling off at her, he pulled at her skirt. "Come on. Let's take a shower."
She sat up. "You still haven't answered the question and don't pretend you forgot."
"I care about you, Leia. Hence the reason that you're my girlfriend. I wouldn't want to date you or be a part of your life or our child's life if I didn't at least care for you in some way."
Girlfriend? That was a first. She turned her face from him. "I'll meet you in the shower," she said softly. Her heart picked up and her face flushed. How could something so simple...be so very powerful...
He nodded. Standing in front of her, he started taking off his shirt and pants. His boxer briefs came next. Tossing them onto her lap, he walked to the bathroom. Leia listened to him go to the bathroom. Taking a few deep breaths, she tried to slow her heart. Slowly, she stood and started taking off her clothes. She got in the shower with him and hugged him from behind, something she had never done before. Hugging...was just something she didn't do...but she never was herself around him.
It was a month. The dreaded day had finally come when they had their first 'baby appointment'. She wasn't really showing yet. Just the faintest of bumps on her stomach, but it was one which Patrick had noticed when he watched her laying there before him. As they ventured to the hospital he drove in behind Rio's car, pulling up beside them in the hospital parking lot.
Leia looked at her phone. Her father had been trying to call her all month. She had avoided him. Stopping in the hall way, she finally answered it. "What is so damn important?" she groaned.
"It's about time you answered you phone, Leia. Damn it, when I call, pick the hell up!"
"Go to hell."
He growled. "Don't test me!" They were both silent for a moment. "I'm coming to visit."
"What!?! You can't come here! We had a deal!"
"Deal's off. Tori wants to meet you."
"Is that the new wife or the new mistress?" she spat.
"You will meet us for dinner in the same place as always. Tonight. Gabe and Rio are welcome to come."
"They don't need your permission," she snapped. "I hope your plane wrecks."
"Love you to, Leia," he said before hanging up.
"I take it that was your father." Patrick stood there feeling rather out of place with Gabe staring daggers into his soul. However, Gabe's attention was quickly diverted to Leia after the phone call.
"He's coming here?" Gabe asked. "We...haven't prepared..."
"I can't deal with this right now," Leia said. "Rio, reschedule the appointment," she said. She started out with Gabe right behind her.
"What's going on?" Patrick asked as they hurried back to Rio's car.
"I have to have dinner with my father tonight. I have to have the perfect outfit otherwise he will notice the bump on my belly because he's got an eagle eye," she said.
"It's true, the man is amazing...though he is the devil," Gabe said as he helped Leia in the car. "We have a lot to do."
"I'll call you tomorrow when he leaves. Don't expect a call tonight," she said to Patrick. A few seconds later Rio came rushing out.
"You're new appointment is tomorrow afternoon, same time," he said as he got in the car. She nodded.
"And I thought my family reunions were bad," Patrick muttered as he leaned against his car and watched they drive away. He was in the mood for Greek tonight. Looks like he'd be staying home and calling in.
Leia ended up wearing an empire dress that was tight against her boobs and loos on her stomach, showing no figure like a baby doll dress. Her hair was curled and pinned up. With her cast now off, she looked beautiful. Just exactly how an heiress should look. Rio and Gabe looked just as fashionable in their tuxes. They went to the restaurant her father always picked out and was showed to his table. His hard face and dark hair were always the first thing she noticed. Even after three years, her hate for him was so strong. Seeing him after all this time changed nothing.
"Leia, you looked lovely," he said as he stood. He went to kiss her but she pulled back.
"Let's make this quick," she said as she sat. The boys followed. "I'm Leia," she said to the blond next to her father. "That's LEE-A...do you understand?"
The blond looked at her father. "Leia, you will show respect."
"Whatever," she groaned.
They sat there talking, mostly Rio and Gabe talked to her father while she sat bored to death. At dessert her father finally said what he came to say.
"I'm tearing down your mother's studio in Italy," he said and sipped his coffee.
Leia sat up instantly. "You can't! That was the studio her father built for her! It was the only thing she loved more than life itself!"
"It's run down and it's in the way of a new hotel I'm building," he said calmly. "Keep your voice down."
"The hell I will! It's run down because you won't remodel it! That dance studio was the only thing she had that you couldn't take you bastard!" she screamed.
Gabe grabbed her hand. "Leia...you have to stay calm..."
She snatched her hand from him and stood while glaring at her father. "You can't take that studio! It's doesn't belong to you! It was giving to me in her will!"
"And until you are eighteen, you don't get a damn thing," he smirked.
"You are going to burn for this!" she screamed. The whole restaurant was looking now.
He slammed his fist on the table, shaking everything. "You will treat me with the respect I deserve as you father in public, Leia!"
She burned her eyes into him. "You are a monster! And I will make it my mission to do what my mother couldn't and ruin you!" she screamed, her face turning red.
He stood and slapped her across the face. She went flying into Rio's arms, landing hard against him. Rio was shaking and Gabe was making fists. Her father's face was hard. "So help me, Leia, you will share her same fate."
Leia looked over at him, blood pouring from her lips and tears staining her face. "You're threats will never faze me. You will pay for your sins."
"Rio..." Gabe said. Rio nodded and started pulling Leia out of the restaurant. Leia was whimpering and holding her cheek. Gabe was on her other side trying to stop the blood. "We need to get you to the hospital...all that anger...Leia...you could have really-"
"Gabe," Rio said with wide eyes as they stopped in the parking lot. Gabe followed his eyes. Running down Leia's bare legs was a trail of blood.
They started walking out. "Well, I paid the staff off so no one will find out about the kid until I show. I don't want you telling anyone either. That means not telling your nosy sister. Last thing I need is her on my front step demanding me doing something." She smirked.
