Patrick opened up the door as the food got there. The young boy seemed surprised to see him. "Ah! Mr. McClain!"

"Yes?"

"You probably don't know me. I'm a senior there at the high school. I...didn't realize you lived here."

"Yes," he gave the boy a tired smile. "May I have my food now?"

The boy looked at him funny, but nodded, taking his money he quickly hurried out, looking back at the house and shaking his head as he got into his car.

Gabe paced in the waiting room while Rio called Patrick. Leia was in the examining room. She had stitches in her lip and the doctor was now trying to find out if the baby was still there. She had been in there for hours and Rio had been trying for just as long to get Patrick on the phone. Patrick was either not near his phone or the phone was off.

Patrick sat there watching television, waiting for Leia to call him about her dinner party. He was certain that he would get an earful. Of course he had no idea that his phone had been knocked off the hook when he changed and tossed his clothes on top of him. Sitting in nothing but his boxers, he was enjoying the movie on, completely oblivious to the world around him.

Rio hung up his phone again. "I still can't reach him..."

Gabe paced some more. "Leia would want him to know..."

"I'll go get him," Rio said and rushed out. About that time. The doctor came out. Gabe rushed over to him with a hopeful look.

Patrick looked over at the door as someone started knocking on the door. Grabbing his pants, he pulled his pants on and opened up the door. "Rio...what are you doing here?" His eyes narrowed as he saw the look on his face. "What's wrong?"

"Leia's in the hospital...her father and her got into a fight..." he said softly. "You should get some clothes on."

"What?" Patrick hurried grabbing a shirt he threw it on and slipped his feet into his dress shoes. "Tell me everything that happened on the way there."

As they drove, Rio filled them in. When they finally got to the hospital, they rushed in. Gabe was crying and standing outside Leia's door. She had locked the door and the doctor was trying to find the right key for it.

Inside, Leia laid on the exam bed curled into a ball crying silently. She had lost the baby. She had lost the last thing her mother left her. And now, all her pride was go with that single smack to her face. She had an ice pack on her face as she laid in her blood stained dress. The stitches on her lip pulled at her as she shifted, her anger over flowing.

"It's...really gone?" He shook his head, unable to believe it. Going to Leia's door, he knocked against it. "Leia," he whispered. "It's me."

She stiffened. The last person she really wanted to see was him...ok...maybe not the last, but close to it. She slowly sat up, pulling the ice pact off her face. It wasn't swelling, so the ice was doing it's job. She was just black and blue from it and the stitches didn't add to the effect. Wiping her eyes, she composed herself and went to the door. Slowly she opened it.

"I just needed a second," she said. She looked over at Gabe who was crying on Rio's shoulder. She rolled her eyes. "Suck it up."

"How are you feeling?" He looked at her, seeing a broken girl in front of him. He wrapped his arms around her, wanting to take away her pain. "I'm so sorry I wasn't here earlier."

She pulled from him. "Not in public. And I'm fine," she said almost coldly. "I want to go home."

Rio nodded slowly. Gabe pulled from him and started drying his eyes. His lip quivered as he looked at her face. "I should have-"

"Shut up," she said. "I really don't want to hear it. If you had done anything, he would have done worse to you so just let it go. It's over."

Gabe bit his lip and Rio rubbed his back. Gabe knew she wasn't mad at him, she was just...mad and upset. She needed to be mad and upset and he was just standing in the line of fire.

Patrick watched and helped them take her down to Rio's car. "Do you want me to follow you home or-?"

"Do what you want," she said. Rio watched as Gabe got into the back of the car with Leia. When she sat down, she looked down at her lap and suddenly saw tears fall onto her hand. Gabe wrapped and arm around her and she sat there, quietly crying though she fought against herself not to.

Of course he was going to follow them. He wasn't going to let her deal with this by herself. The reality of what this meant hadn't hit him yet. Their child was dead. He hated it, but a part of him was almost relieved. That thought made him disgusted with himself. Getting in his car, he followed after them, getting out to help her stand.

Leia said nothing as they all walked inside. Gabe and Rio made sure she was comfortable on the couch before Gabe went to her room and grabbed her some fresh clothes. Rio took down her hair as she sat quietly almost in a daze. After he finished, Gabe helped her to the bathroom to wash up a bit and change. When she came out, they set her back on the couch. Rio went to the kitchen to make her hot chocolate and Gabe turned on the TV to her favorite show.

"Will you be staying over, Mr. McClain?"

"If that is alright with you. I think it might be best," he said, looking at her with a worried expression on his face. He went over and sat beside her. His hand reached out and gently stroked hers. For once, he was at a loss for words around her.

She moved her face from his touch. Everything hurt. She wasn't sure what hurt most, that she had somehow killed a baby inside her that the only thing left of her mother was being destroyed. Gabe sat down on the table in front of her and Rio brought over the hot chocolate.

"You're favorite...extra chocolate," he offered.

She wiped her eyes again. "I need you to send someone to get pictures of my mother's studio before her destroys it," she said softly. "And get rid of those baby clothes in my closet."

Gabe looked at Rio then at Patrick. "I'll send someone right away," he said and grabbed her phone.

"I didn't know you bought baby clothes..."

"Neither did I," Patrick stated, looking at her in shock. She hadn't mentioned it, even to him. She must have been more excited about this baby than he had originally thought if she was already purchasing clothes for it.

"Can I sleep out here...I really don't want to be in there," she said and laid on the couch.

It was like she could hear them talking, but she wasn't really listening. Rio got up as Gabe was on the phone. He got the air bed and set it up then slowly went to her room. It looked normal but when he opened her large walk in closet, there were baby clothes in expensive wrapping and some baby toys still in their boxes. There was even a bassinet. He didn't have any clue how she manage to get so much in the apartment without him or Gabe knowing.

Gabe came in there after him when he got off the phone. He looked at the stuff. He picked up one of the outfits. "Designer...she wanted the baby to have the best..."

"Why didn't you tell me you'd started buying stuff?" He looked at her, trying to get any sort of reaction out of her that showed that she was still alive. Sure she talked and breathed, but she was dead.

She shrugged. "I was stocking up. No big deal," she said. Gabe and Rio came back out and started putting sheets and blankets on the air bed. They helped her into it and she snuggled to a pillow. Gabe lightly stroked her hair as Rio motioned Patrick to her room.

Patrick took one last look at her before going to her room. He was shocked at how much she had bought. "This is a lot more than just stocking up," he muttered.

"I don't know how she got it all here," Rio said. "Gabe thinks she should go to your place tomorrow while we get it all out. We're going to send all of it to her favorite charity."

Gabe handed Leia some pills and let her down them. "For the pain and it will help you sleep," he said softly. She said nothing as she closed her eyes.

He nodded slowly. "Yes, of course." His eyes were still on the bassinet and the clothes. "Is her father still in town?"

"Most likely not. He has a private jet. He flies it in for a visit then flies back to France. Every time he comes he brings bad news. His last visit three years ago was to tell her he was selling all of her mother's things. The studio was all that was left of her mother." He sighed. "She made him a deal, she wouldn't come to France if he wouldn't come to America. Apparently he didn't care anymore, the bastard. You should have heard the things he said...he threatened to kill her."

"I see." There was something of a calm about him as he said this. "I need to get my work from my house so I can stay up with her tonight. I'll be back shortly."

Rio nodded and closed the closet. He walked out to Gabe where Leia was slowly passing out.

Before leaving, he knelt down and kissed her forehead, smiling as he looked up at them. "Take care of her until I get back." Grabbing his keys out of his pocket, his smile fell as he hurried to his car.

"He is so not going to get some work," Rio said.

"Not a chance."

He broke several speed limits just to get to his house. Throwing open the door, he grabbed his long winter coat as well as his toboggan and gloves. The last thing he grabbed before leaving his house was a knife. Getting back into his car, he drove like hell to the airport.

Gabe and Rio ended up laying on the air bed with Leia while she slept. They didn't want to leave her alone and for some reason, Patrick was taking forever.

The knife felt heavy in his pocket, but all he could think about was Leia laying there, their child dead and her basically a zombie. Looking up at the security fence around the private airfield, he quickly wished that he'd brought thicker gloves. The barbed wire that wound around it would be a problem. Running up to the fence, he grabbed hold and began to scale over it. Stopping only to ease himself over it. His gloves and jacket got torn, but he escaped with only a gash to his hand. Landing on his feet, he had no trouble finding her father.

At least he hoped it was. The man looked mean enough. Pulling his toboggan down, he looked through the eyeholes he'd cut out with his knife. "Leonard Johnson?"

The man turned to him, some young blond busty woman attached to his arm. "What?" Leonard's face changed from annoyance to fear as he saw the masked assailant. With one quick motion his fist slammed into Leonard's face, knocking him to the ground. He quickly straddled him, the woman was screaming as he pulled out the knife. He wanted this guy to pay. However, as he looked at the knife and then at the wide eyed man, he realized that he couldn't do it. This man may be a killer...but he wasn't.

"Fuck you!" Patrick yelled, slamming his fist into Leonard's face repeatedly.

In the morning, Rio had went all out. He cooked a large breakfast, all of Leia's favorite breakfast foods. Gabe had gone to her room and packed a few things for her to spent the night at Patrick's. Leia was still sleeping.

"Hey! I brought doughnuts!" Patrick said, knocking on the door. His right hand was bandaged, and he was wearing glasses today due to losing one of his contacts during the events of last night.

Both Rio and Gabe glared at Patrick. "Shhh!" Gabe said quickly. "She's still sleeping!"

"Where have you been?" Rio asked. "She started crying and screaming in her sleep."

Patrick sighed and handed them the doughnuts. "My car...it wouldn't start when I got home. Ended up cutting my hand and losing a contact in the process of trying to fix it," he told them. "Is she okay?"

"You could have called," Rio said. "I could have come taken a look at it." He added cheese eggs to the long line of dishes.

"She's ok," Gabe said. Leia then sat up. Everyone froze.

"Coffee..." she groaned.

Rio passed a cup to Gabe who then gave it to Leia. Moaning, she sniffed it and sipped on it lightly, cursing lightly when she remembered how sore her lips were.

"Careful, Leia. Remember the stitches," Gabe said.

"Yeah," she groaned. She looked at the food. "Feeding a farm?" she smirked.

Patrick smiled and held out his box of goodies. "Chocolate doughnut?"

She took one and Rio frowned. "But I worked all morning."

She stood and looked at the food. "Then make me a plate," she said and dunked her doughnut in the coffee. Rio's eyes sparkled and Leia rolled hers.

Patrick hesitated, but finally leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. "How did you sleep?"

"Don't know, don't remember," she shrugged as she ate.

"How do you feel?" Gabe asked slowly.

Leia was quiet for a while. "I'm not ok. But I'll be ok."

Patrick moved some of her hair behind her ears. "You'll be staying the night with me. Is that okay?"

She nodded and chewed. "Dad call?"

Gabe and Rio exchanged glances. "No..."

"Bastard," she mumbled.

Patrick shifted slightly. "Was he suppose to call?"

"He usually calls after we fight to let me know he's putting a few mill in my private account," she said as she ate.

"I've been by the phone waiting for him to call, but he hasn't."
