"So, what you're saying is that you think I'm having intimate affairs with one of my students?"

"I don't know. Are you?"

Patrick shook his head and laughed. "Really? If I was do you think I'd just outright say it?" Sitting down on his bed, he undid his tie and sighed. "No. I would not touch any of my students that way."

"I certainly hope not. There will be a formal review. We take these matters very seriously." There was a pause as he added. "They will also be going over your financial records."

Patrick's eyes widened. "What do my finances have to do with this?"

"The student believed to be with you is very wealthy, and you have displayed many new purchases. We just want to make certain they are legitimate."

"Let me drive you home? As your pretend boyfriend?" Nathan smiled.

"If anyone asks..."

"I'll even tell the cops I'm dating you, Leia. I've had my share of older women before," he said as he locked up.

She nodded. "Thanks for this."

"I hope you would do the same for me if I were to get questioned about my affairs," he said as he opened the car door for her.

"Of course."

"Have a good night," Patrick said. He wanted to shut the door before cursing in his native tongue. Landing on the bed, he stared up at the ceiling and groaned. This was bad. They'd probably run his phone records as well, so he couldn't call her. He'd just have to wait and talk to her at school somehow.

"Goodnight kiss?"

"You are smooth, Nathan," Leia smirked as they stood outside her door.

"You never know who could be watching." Leaning in, he pressed his lips to hers. She closed her eyes as he messaged his lips with hers. Pulling back, he kissed her neck. "Goodnight, girlfriend," he whispered into her ear.

The next morning was hell. Patrick had been called in an hour early to discuss these allegations against him. On top of that they already had his financial records, showing the payments made by Leia. "There is nothing I can say about those," he said softly. Anything he said would just make it worse.

"Very well then. Its obvious that you are indeed hiding something. Until we figure out what you are under academic suspension."

The buzz about the cops questioning Patrick was all over school and it only got worse with the chief of police's daughter heard it was Leia who was supposedly sleeping with him. Nathan pulled Leia aside in the middle of the hall and started making out with her in front of everyone. She fisted his shirt with a flushed face as Rio and Gabe paled. They had no idea what was going on or why Leia was making out with Nathan.

"The teacher? Really, Leia?" Nathan whispered in her ear as his kissed her neck. Her eyes were closed tightly. "Time to do some clean up. You were with me all those nights you were with him, got it? We have a lot to discuss."

He pulled her along with him until they were soon in the parking lot and in his car. "Tell me everything, every moment you were with him, everything that happened." She glanced at him, flushed and shocked. "I can't help if you don't spill."

Slowly, she nodded. "Right." Then she began telling him everything she remembered.

Patrick sat at home with a bottle of scotch. His phone was unplugged. Rachel, Michael, and Jacob had all been trying to get in touch with him. News spread fast apparently. He wasn't drunk. Not yet at least, but he was really trying. He couldn't teach. He couldn't go to school. Someone had carved 'pedophile' into the side of his car and thrown eggs at his door. Today was a wonderful day to be alive.

Leia sat in the office of her lawyer before the cops had gotten to her. Nathan was next to her. "I want Mr. McClain cleared," she said.

"This is worst than-"

"Shut it! What I did in the past is over. Just do your job and do anything you can to make it go away, got it?" she ordered.

"Sure sure, it's not like I haven't done it for your father a few times," the lawyer said as he started making phone calls. "I'll have it cleared in no time. In the mean time, stick with this young man. It will look good for you to be with someone of your age. I'll be pulling some money from you account to pay some people off."

"Sure, that's fine. Oh, and send Mr. McClain to a hotel or something under someone's name. Use one of those sexy lawyers you have working under you so it looks good, k?"

"I'm on it."

She took Nathan's hand and they walked out. "You have been very busy these pass few months. Pregnant and all."

"Yeah, well, I'm no angel."

He rubbed her belly. "And to think I'll pretend to be a sad daddy!" he pouted.

She smacked his hand. "Stop that you freak."

He looked up as he heard someone knock on the door. Sighing, he set down his drink and opened the door.

"What the hell have ye gotten yourself into?"

"Michael, I didn't mean for this mess to happen," he said softly.

Michael's face softened as shook his head. "Aye. I know. But ye still should have been more responsible." He hugged his brother, finally releasing him to cough. "Ye smell like bad booze."

He held up the empty liquor bottle to which Michael just groaned. "If you're going to wallow in self pity at least drink the good stuff."

"Yes, well, it is rather hard to go out at the current moment."

"Aye. You had three guys stabbing your tires when I drove up. Needless to say they won't be coming back."

It wasn't long before a limo drove up and a woman stepped out of the car. She walked up to the door as Michael stood in it. "Hello?" she said to get their attention. "I'm Gina Rings, your lawyer," she said smiling. "And I've come with a message from you secret admirer," she added sweetly. "She said that 'all wheels are in motion' and that you just need to lay low because she's taking care of it." She motioned to the limo. "Please, get in the limo, and I'll take you to a nice hotel." She pulled something out of her purse, it was a picture. She looked at the picture then at Michael. "You must be his brother. His secret admirer told me to tell you that she's sorry about all this and after it's over she won't bring shame to your family. You can come to the hotel with us if you like."

Michael sighed and looked over at Patrick. "Call me to let me know you're safe," he told him. "I think it will be best if I don't go with you just yet." He nodded to them, excusing himself so that he could go talk to the rest of his family.

"How is she doing?" He asked as soon as Michael was gone. His own condition didn't bother him nearly as badly as not knowing what kind of repercussions she was facing because of all of t his.

"She's ok. Worried about you and spending a lot of money to keep you safe. She said she owes you because she made you a promise," Gina said as they got into the limo.

"I never thought I'd be glad to be...acquainted with someone so wealthy." He didn't like the fact that she was using her money to help him, but if it could keep him from going to jail then he didn't care quite so much.

Three days later, Patrick was arrested. Despite anything Leia did, she couldn't prevent him from going to jail. Bye that time, she didn't care who knew they were together. She wanted his name cleared, but even she didn't have enough money to pay off those who only wanted justice. He spent three days in jail before she was finally able to get him out. By then, his family had packed his things from his house since he could no longer live there. He had been marked a pedophile on his record and though he didn't have to go to court with all the things Leia had done, it didn't keep the court from making sure he was branded for life.

Leia did not take the news lightly. After raging her wrath on every person around her and digging up dirt on the person who reported Patrick, she finally was calm enough to speak with Patrick. It was a month later and she had no idea where he was. After she got him out of jail, it was like he disappeared and she couldn't just ask his family where he was. She quit school and though her father threatened to cut her off for it and for having an affair with a teacher, she threw all the dirt she had in his face and he couldn't do anything.

Patrick's hand dipped through the crystal water. He was home, and yet he wasn't. In such a short time his entire life had all but been destroyed. He was rebuilding it...albeit slowly. The first step had been getting as far away from that town as possible. To that end, he found himself in Ireland once more. Here, no one would know what he had been branded. Here, he would be safe. Here, he was all alone.

His family was in America. His life was in America. His past was in America. Everything and everyone he held dear was in America.

Splashing the water on his face, he nodded to the man he was helping. "The metal will be cooled down enough," he assured him. Right now he was simply taking odd jobs to pay for his place. Today he was an amateur blacksmith apprentice.

Leia sat on the drug store counter while Nathan rubbed her arm. "So...you've given up?" he asked softly.

She shrugged. "Doesn't matter. It's for the best. His family has suffered enough and so has he. Maybe he just doesn't want to speak to me or see me again," she said as she threw her third broken phone in the trash. She had a habit of taking her anger out on her phone.

"Leia...you went through all this trouble to get him out and safe...you snuck around with him for nearly three months and you almost had a child with him. I think you have a right to some closure."

She sighed. "I'm over it," she said and hopped off the counter. "I owe you for your help. Let's go to your car."

"I'm good," he said and leaned against the counter. She looked at him in shock. "I don't mess with girls in love."

Her eyes grew hard. Reaching over she smacked him hard across the face. "Don't say shit you don't know is true!" she snapped and stomped out of the store.

"Y'know lad. My daughter has taken quite a fancy to ye."

Stripped to nothing but his pants, Patrick let the cold water wash over him. His flesh was marked with smoke and the occasional burn mark where he was careless. Already his muscles were growing more defined from his lifestyle. "Is that so?"

"Aye. I know there is a dance tonight. If you were going, I know she would like to tag along with ye."

Patrick sighed and grabbed his glasses. "I'm not really looking for anyone right now," he explained. "Your daughter is lovely, but she's just not my type."

"Ah, so ye are gay?"

Once more he sighed as he grabbed his shirt. "Sure. We'll go with that."

Leia walked home. The drug store was only a few miles from home, but she took an extra route. She eventually found herself at Patrick's old house, abandoned and lonely. She sat on the grass in the front yard, the cold December air freezing her but she didn't care. She stared at the front door trying to remember the last time she was in there. Slowly, she pulled out the house key from under her shirt. She kept it on a chain around her neck to remind her why she was doing what she was doing when she was trying to clear him and trying to find him. She yanked it from her neck, the chain braking.

"Goodbye...Mr. McClain..." she whispered.
