Sailormoon Dark: Episode Seven
"Flower Petals from an Artificial Sky. The Strange, Sad Life of Sailorcharon."

written by Laurel Wilson ( Sailorhathor@aol.com )
Inspired by the Japanese animated show Pretty Soldier Sailormoon.
The ideas for this fanfic were conceived in 1995, but this actual episode was written in September 2000.

"Luna, when this day ends, is it okay if I count Elemental senshi to help myself fall asleep?"
"I'm not sure if it will work, Usagi-chan. We've only seen a few so far. No one can fall asleep that fast. Not even... Usagi-chan? Usagi-chan!"
Snoooooooore...
"Wake up Usagi!"
"Huh-wha-WHAT?! ........ Cheeky cat."

"Aren't the rest of us going to be in this episode, Luna?"
"Of course. Now finish the promo."
"Right! The moonlight carries the message of love."

Back in his regular clothes, Glen couldn't help but notice the four eyes staring at him. He slowly craned his neck to look at Tara and Ursula.
"Eh heh heh..." Glen grinned. "Hello."
"Hi..." Ursula smiled back, with a goofy, infatuated expression. "You were pretty impressive during the battle just now. So you're a senshi too?"
"Oh, are you a senshi?" Glen asked innocently.
        Both girls sweatdropped.
"She's coming to," said Sabrina, indicating the stranger on the couch.
The girl moaned, her eyes fluttering open. She sat up a little to look around. "Who are you all? I had a dream that my head came off..."
"That wasn't a dream." Sitting next to her, Samantha questioned the girl. "Do you remember what happened? What's your name?"
"You mean that really happened?!" She sat up all the way and glared at everyone suspiciously. "You attacked me."
Samantha matter-of-factly replied, "You attacked us first."
"I did it for my friend. She told me you were putting spells on her to hurt her, and then... I'm not sure what happened before I wound up here."
        "Who is this friend?"
"Some girl I met at my college registration. I'm not sure why I felt I should help her... I hardly know her, really... it's all kinda weird." The girl rubbed her temple.
"Obviously, someone with power over the mind is behind all of this," Setsuna deduced. "They are manipulating these girls who hold certain Elemental powers to get them to attack us. Somehow, they know who we are and what powers we hold. Probably because they are working with our Dark doubles."
"They want us dead," Usagi added with a shudder.
"But how do they know who to recruit?" Michiru wondered aloud. "How do they find the people with Elemental powers?"
"Apparently, they have some method of detection," Haruka said. She glanced around the room, and realized that Kitaeru was not there for this conversation--was she still in the greenhouse? As Sailorvulcan, Kitaeru had such powers of detecting other senshi. Perhaps Dumpling was too trusting of the girl after all... still, there was no proof... yet.
Suddenly, the girl who had been Sailorlithiumowl gasped and flopped back on the couch, her eyes looking through everyone as if they were not there. Glen and Samantha instantly went to her aid; they and the others were a little surprised to see the girl's Soul Shield float out of her heart. Something like this had happened to Sailorhelium.
"Hey, that's a Soul Shield, isn't it? Just like the one you brought for Mars, but with a different symbol inside it," Glen commented. "Is she alright?"
The glowing round shield split into two, the Lithium Shield and the Owl Shield.
"I think she will be alright; this happened before to another senshi," Setsuna replied, getting up and placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. When she did, the Owl Shield flew away, passing through the window like a ghost. The Lithium Shield returned to the girl's heart by dissolving into her body. She jerked violently as if someone had dropped her on the couch.
"Ohhhh... what happened? I feel so weak," the girl moaned.
"The other senshi this happened to earlier today was weak too. She needs to go home and rest. As far as we know, she will be alright then," Setsuna explained.
With a nod, Glen spoke to the girl. "I need to take you home, so you can rest. What is your name? Where do you live?"
She weakly replied, "My name is Darla Richiumu...uh, Richiumu Darla. Sorry, I spent half my life in America. It's hard to get used to the name thing. My dad is Japanese."
"I know how you feel; many of us do," Glen replied. "My family is the same way. Can I take you home now?"
"I'll go with you." Sabrina helped Darla up.
Tara made a face at Ursula. "We should have volunteered to go."
At first Ursula nodded in agreement, but then scolded herself, "Gee, aren't we nice--thinking of going along to get closer to Glen when that poor girl just needs to be taken home."
"Hey-she shocked us with those jumper cables of hers. I figure this makes us even."
"You are so bad." Ursula giggled, shaking her head.
Once Glen and Sabrina had left to take Darla home, Ban sat forward, a mischievous, inquisitive look on his face. It was as if he knew he was about to ask touchy questions. "So why can't Sailorrhea make herself invisible? Is that her only attack?"
The Witches who were left looked at each other in discomfort. "That's a bit private," Samantha replied.
"My girlfriend said something interesting in the greenhouse--she said she had trouble feeling that you guys were senshi before you revealed yourselves. Why is that?" Ban asked.
"Why is it that your girlfriend can feel if people are senshi?" Samantha countered.
Smiling, Ban laughed a little. "I suppose you will find out eventually anyway. My girlfriend is Sailorvulcan. She made the transformation wands and the Talismans that you use. Because she made them, she can feel your connection to them. That's how she can tell."
Samantha nodded curtly. "The reason that your girlfriend had some trouble telling that we are senshi is because we did a spell to block such detection. For our own safety."
"Oh, I see. That's a good plan," Ban said, and nodded enthusiastically.
Saman tha nodded too. "Well, yes, it was a good plan, but it didn't seem to work. It's not foolproof. Your girlfriend still felt something."
"It worked pretty good..." Ban assured.
        "Well, nothing is perfect."
Ban wasn't sure why he wanted to make Samantha and the others feel better about their spell--he thought it was probably because he liked them. Even Glen, the showoff.
"We should be going," Haruka said. "There's much to do."
"And Usagi and I need to meet up with Minako and Ami soon," Makoto added.
Ban started to get up. "I'll go get Kitaeru."
"Oh no, let me get her!" Usagi said, springing to her feet. Truth be told, she wanted to get another look at those beautiful flowers in the greenhouse... and to check on Rei one more time before she left.
Usagi was on her way there when she passed by a back hallway with many doors. There were at least ten rooms in this part of the house. As she curiously started down the hall, Usagi peeked into one of the rooms. It didn't look very lived in, just a guest room. She turned from the door and gasped at who she saw at the end of the hallway.
        It was Rei.
The outline of Rei's body glowed so that she was hazy and indistinct, dressed in the college uniform she had died in. She put a hand on her hip and tossed her hair over her shoulder, all without making a sound.
"Rei?" Usagi said with much emotion.
Rei, smiling, motioned for Usagi to follow her before walking into the last room at the left end of the hallway.
"Rei?!" Usagi immediately ran to the room and entered it without a second thought.
Rei was nowhere to be seen. Instead, an unfamiliar senshi stood near the window; she was holding an ornate wooden music box. The window had been boarded up, but she still gazed out of it as if she could see the sky. Gray and white wings spread from her back as she turned to look at Usagi. Her lavendar hair was pulled up into two long ponytails on each side.
"Hello," she said in a sad tone. "It's nice of you to come see me, Princess Serenity."
"Who are you? How do you know about that? And where is Rei?"
"I know your name. I am Sailoralbatross . It would be nice to chat with you for awhile. Will you stay?"

& nbsp; Upon crawling through a small, narrow hole, Sailorhelium was confronted with her first sight of the Underworld. The tallest gate she had ever seen was before her, one of iron, held closed by a large ebony padlock dotted with painted stars. A matching fence stretched so far around the underground land that Sailorhelium could not see where it stopped.
Beyond the gate she could clearly see several wide rivers that prevented passage without a boat, like a mote protecting a castle. And still beyond that were two separate lands, like cities in the distance, each as different from the other as night and day. From what Sailorhelium could see, the land on the left was made mostly of caverns and mountains, and the sky above it was an ominously dark red. Wait... the sky?! But they were underground! Weren't they? Had they come out the other side of the hill? "Nah, I think something like this in the middle of Tokyo would have been noticed before," she mumbled to herself.
The other city was absolutely cheery compared to the first. It had many temples and open fields of flowers, from what Sailorhelium could see of it. The sky above that city was blue and sunny, like a lovely spring day.
"Wow... this is intense. This is your home?" She turned to Sailorcharon, but was surprised to find the girl sitting on her knees next to her dog. Buster was still playing with the shreds of demon like a good chew toy.
Charon slowly shook her head. "I can't believe it. Five of them. How did we ever get out of that alive?" She panted with fright, clutching her chest.
"Are you alright? What are you freaking out for? We pulverized them without breaking a nail."
"I wouldn't say it was that easy," the shredded demon commented. Buster rapidly shook him to shut him up.
Helium's words did not seem to calm Charon down. "But... there were five of them. We were just lucky to gain the upperhand. If you hadn't been there-"
"Me being there is what made you let your guard down in the first place. But we came out of it okay. Don't sweat it." Sailorhelium knelt beside her. "After the way you took down those jerks, I'm surprised to see you like this. You seemed to have it under control until I distracted you."
"Appearances can be deceiving." Getting to her feet, Sailorcharon took a deep breath to compose herself. "I'll show you to my home, where you can rest, before getting back to my duties."
"Oh, I don't need to rest anymore. I'm okay."
"It will catch up to you once the adrenaline wears off. Please, I'll worry about you less if you rest for a bit." Charon approached a small cottage near the gate.
Sailorhelium sighed and followed her. "Alright. I'll rest, if you do a favor for me."
        "What?"
"Answer some questions for me. This place doesn't exactly explain itself."
"Sure. What do you want to know?"
"First of all, why is there sky over those two cities across the rivers, and rock above us, on this side of the fence? Aren't we still underground?" Helium asked.
"Yes, we're underground. The sky is an illusion created by Sailorisis. She rules the Underworld with her husband, Soldierosiris."
Sailorh elium quickly tried to remember her Egyptian mythology. "I get the Osiris part; he was the god of the Underworld. But what is Isis doing down here? Wasn't she a sky goddess or something?"
"She spends much of her time down here to be with her husband. The false sky adds to the feel of this land, so Isis casts her powers to create it." Reaching the entrance to her cottage, Sailorcharon took out a small replica of the Key of Styx to unlock the door. "She and Osiris live across the rivers. Both originally came from the Re galaxy, but most of the life there is gone, so they were sent here to look after our dead."
"What happened to the life of their galaxy?"
Sailorcharon just shrugged. She opened the door to her cottage.
"Hitoria. Hitoria!" a voice moaned. "Help us."
"Help us Hitoria," another voice added.
Grimacing, Charon did not look; she simply continued on into her home. Sailorhelium did turn to look out of curiousity. On the other side of the iron fence was a couple, a man and a woman, with grey skin and sunken eyes. Their drab clothes were in rags. There were no shoes on their feet, which Helium was shocked to see were floating almost a foot off the ground. The way they looked, they had to be ghosts.
She gasped. "Sailorcharon, are they calling you?"
        "Just come inside."
As Helium rushed into the house, the spectres called out again. "Hitoria, don't leave us out here alone." The door was shut on their words.
The little cottage was fairly normal on the inside, with afghans tossed over the couch and flowered curtains on the windows. There were a few things that struck Sailorhelium as odd, though--the number of windows in the house was very low, and there were no photographs on the walls or anywhere to be seen. Maybe those things were normal for someone who lived in a place like this. Helium could see the definite benefits of having hardly any windows in the Underworld. Who would want to look out the window with such scenery? Not to mention the potential for wayward demon break-ins. But why no photos? The girl didn't have relatives or friends?
"You have a cute house," Sailorhelium finally said. "It's a stark contrast to the land outside it. Who were those people at the fence? Were they ghosts?"
Charon rested her Key staff against the fireplace, keeping her eyes on the floor. "Yes, just ghosts. If people are not given the proper rites after death, they cannot cross the rivers. They must wander the banks of the Styx forever, unless... well, I don't really know what would free them from such torture. It is beyond my knowledge."
"Do all dead people look like that?" Leaning over the couch, Sailorhelium peered out the window to watch the ghosts float along the bank. They moaned mournfully as they did--she had never seen such sad faces. Except for maybe Sailorcharon's face as she spoke about the ghosts.
"No, only the dead who have not crossed the rivers look like that. Their appearances change once they enter their appointed resting land." Charon's eyes were far away while she talked, as if she was looking right into the heart of the Underworld.
"What are the resting lands called?"
"Each religion and faith has its own name for those places. They have been called Heaven and Hell... Paradise... Duat... the Mag Mell... around here, they are commonly called Tartarus and Elysion."
"Like in Greek mythology," Helium added.
"Yes. Why don't you lie down and rest for awhile? I've got some duties to attend to." Sailorcharon pointed out the window. "The ghosts are piling up at the gates. They must be ferried across the rivers."
Tentatively, Sailorhelium did look out the window again. Only her eyes peeked above the windowsill at the floating spectres gathering at the gates. They frightened her... this entire place frightened her. How did Charon deal with this, day after day?
"Uh, sure, I'll stay here and rest. You sure you'll be okay out there by yourself?
        Sailorcharon nodded.
She was about to lie back on the couch when Helium did a doubletake out the window. Something was falling from the sky... it was snow! Her mouth gaping, Sailorhelium looked at Charon. "Is... is that what I think it is?!"
Charon briefly glanced out the window. "Oh, yeah... it's snow."
Pointing at the glass, which was starting to fog from the cold outside, Helium laughed nervously. "It's snowing... is it also snowing across the rivers? As in, it's snowing in Hell?"
        "Yes."
;       "Oh wow. Damn, now I have to go out on a date with this guy I knew in high school, Biibasu."
        "Why?"
&n bsp;       "Because he asked me out, and I told him I would date him when it snowed in Hell." Sailorhelium flashed a big grin.
This actually brought a smile to Charon's face too. "Looks like you owe him a date alright."
"Why is it that it's snowing in the Underworld anyway?"
"How it happens is a mystery," Sailorcharon replied. "Isis claims she is not responsible. The thing I do know is that it snows in the Underworld every time someone's love for another person fades. This is truly the place love comes to die."
Sailorhelium watched the snow fall solumnly. "Wow... do you get any other types of weather here?"
"Sort of. It rains whenever someone's dream is extinguished. And flower petals fall from the sky at the time that someone loses hope. I suppose it happens to signify the death of these precious things... love, dreams, hope... but sometimes I would rather not know the frequency at which spirits are broken." Her eyes were far off again, looking at a corner of the ceiling.
With sympathy, Helium asked, "Are you sure you want to go out there right now? You could stay here and keep me company."
Charon smiled, but shook her head. "No, I really should attend to my duties before the ghosts pile up too much out there. Right after I feed Buster."
Sailorhelium gave in and laid back on the couch, intending just to rest. After a minute, it became obvious that she was falling asleep--the exhaustion caught up with her, like Charon said it would. The last thing Helium saw before she drifted off was Sailorcharon draping an afghan over her with a gentle smile.
It was some time later, Helium didn't know how long, that she was awakened by the sound of Buster barking outside. She leaned up and rubbed her eyes, then peered out the window to see what was going on.
Sailorcharon was at the gate to the Underworld. As she put the Key of Styx into the large padlock's keyhole, Buster barked and ran back and forth around the ghosts waiting at the gate to round them up. They moaned and wailed but did as they were supposed to.
"Be prepared. All who pass through this gate must pay the toll to cross the rivers. If you cannot pay the toll, you will not pass," Charon announced to the dead assembled there. "A simple obolus will guarantee you safe passage."
Once the lock was released, and the chain loosened, Charon and Buster wrangled the ghosts through the gates like cattle. She quickly locked the gate behind them before any of the other ghosts could try to run out.
Sailorhelium thought it was very sad that those people who could not "pay the toll" could not cross the river. She would have to ask Charon about this system.
As Helium watched, Sailorcharon began taking coins from the ghosts and putting them in a pouch. The ghosts who were able to pay stepped into the boat. Two out of the group stood before Charon with open hands, empty hands, and wailed. She waved a finger before their eyes to bring forth that which was unseen; a phantom noose appeared around the neck of one soul, and long cuts appeared along the wrists of the other. Sailorcharon held her staff before them.
        "Safe Passage for two."
The two suicides hugged each other happily, because they thought they were being granted safe passage. But they were scared to see two souls freed from the large coin in the top of the staff. These souls gladly took their passage by jumping into the boat. The two new suicides were sucked into the coin, wailing and grabbing at the ghosts around them. Growling, Buster menaced the others into backing up so the paniced suicides would have no one to cling to.
Sailorhelium understood Charon's Tornado of Suicides attack much better now. She could hardly stand to listen to how those two ghosts carried on as they were being taken into the coin.
That being done, Charon got into the boat herself with Buster not far behind. She was about to push off when the two ghosts who had called her Hitoria earlier suddenly rushed the boat and tried to get in. Back in the cottage, Sailorhelium gasped; she considered running out to see if she could help. But the gate was closed and locked. Buster instantly reacted by barking at the intruder ghosts. He snapped at them, baring his teeth. They both recoiled, but still tried to stay in the boat with the others. The other ghosts attempted to get away from these two, because they knew the couple did not belong and would be ejected, by force if necessary. Helium almost had to cover her ears against the awful frightened wailing of the ghosts.
"I've told you before, I can't grant you safe passage! Get out of the boat," Sailorcharon ordered, confronting the couple with the Key of Styx before her.
The two ghosts tried to hide behind some of the others. This produced more wailing and scrambling around the tiny gondola. "But Hitoria, you must take us. Please! We can't stand to wander the banks of this river anymore! We want Paradise."
        "Please Hitoria!"
"Don't you understand after all this time? I can't! I have to do things the way they are supposed to be done. Now get out of the boat!" Sailorcharon shoved the end of her staff at the male ghost's chest.
"You can't mean that Hitoria," the female ghost wailed. "Just take us across; no one is watching."
"I. Can't. Now get out of the boat. For the last time."
As Sailorhelium watched, the male ghost suddenly grabbed Charon's staff and tried to wrestle it away from her. "I'll take us across, then! Give me the oar!"
        "Let go!"
Buster lunged at him. "Let go!" the dog growled. The male ghost reared back, startled, and accidentally knocked his cowering partner into the river.
Sailorcharon, horrified, gasped and screamed, "Look what you've done! Get her out of the water!"
Unable to stay uninvolved anymore, Helium jumped up off the couch and ran out the front door to the gates of the Underworld. By the time she got there, the male ghost had stepped back on the shore and was trying to help the woman out of the water. Many hands suddenly reached up from the river to grab at the female spectre's clothes, attempting to pull her down. She wailed and struggled. Sailorhelium realized that almost the entire river was made up of ghosts and other forms of phantoms, maybe even some monsters, moving and flowing with the water in the river bed. In horror Charon beat at the river ghosts that had a hold on the woman. With the combined effort of herself and the man, the female ghost was pulled safely to the bank of the Styx. Sailorcharon pushed the boat away from the bank before anything else could happen.
The couple stood on the bank, the man comforting the frightened, shaken woman. "How could you treat us like this, Hitoria? We just want our rest. It's your fault that we were murdered--you wouldn't take that wand that was offered to you to protect us! And those monsters killed us! Now that you've got these powers, you can't even take your own parents to Paradise. You even have the key!"
        "Why, Hitoria?" the woman sobbed.
Sailorhelium gasped with such surprise that she gripped the gates before her tightly. They were her parents?! And she wasn't allowed to take them across the river? How sad! So this is what Charon meant when she said that senshi could not run from their destiny, or it would catch up to them. The guilt the poor girl must feel... the loneliness...
As the boat began to drift across the water, Sailorcharon looked back towards the gates and saw Helium standing there; this brought an embarassed expression to her face. Helium smiled at her to try to make her feel better, giving a little wave. The expression on Sailorcharon's face grew sorrowful, and she looked away, toward nothing in particular, as if she was thinking deeply. Helium was saddened, but not surprised to see flower petals begin falling from the sky.

&nb sp; " Sailormiraijupiter , I thought you were my toughest competition in all those races in gym class," Miraiuranus teased at the straggling girl. "Why is it, then, that you are all the way back there?"
Miraijupiter trotted up next to the others. "Sorry. It's been a long time since I've been in the Time Warp. Sure is fascinating to watch."
"You could get lost in here if you're not careful," Miraisaturn commented. "It's a good idea to keep up."
"Thank you Mother, sheesh," Miraijupiter said with sarcasm. "Aren't those the Time Gates ahead?"
"They're open," Miraineptune pointed out. "That's not normal."
As they approached the open gate, Miraiuranus leaned over to Sailorelysion. She and Sailordeadearth had come not only so they could identify the persons who had attacked the temple, but for Deadearth's safety. If someone wanted to hurt the child too, they would certainly not be looking for her in a past where she did not exist yet. Miraiuranus said, "Keep the kid occupied until we find out what happened to Sailormiraipluto. She shouldn't see her if something has happened to her. The kid has seen enough tragedy today."
Sailorelysion nodded. "Zomi, stay here with me for a minute. Someone might've snuck in here while Miraipluto was away. It could be dangerous."
The Mirai senshi stepped through the open door.
Once they were alone, Sailordeadearth asked, "Why are you avoiding calling me by my senshi name? I am in uniform."
Elysion had to sigh, but in sympathy. "Because you insist that I call you Sailordeadearth. I can't call you that. That's not who you are."
"It is who I am. Until my mother is okay again. I will not answer to my old senshi name," Deadearth declared.
The furry kitten in her arms nuzzled her hand. "You are too young to speak like an adult. You must not worry so; your mother will recover."
A white ball with cat ears floated up next to Deadearth. It looked like a toy version of Artemis' head, much like Luna-P of the past. Mare gazed at the robot that resembled her grandfather. "Look, Zomi--Artemis-P is here. Wouldn't you like to play with him?"
The eyes of the robot lit up as if it was happy to see Deadearth, and it bowed to her.
"Mare, I've been told my mother will recover," she replied, ignoring Artemis-P. "But that does not change what has already happened."
Both Mare and Artemis-P lowered their eyes dejectedly.
Miraijupite r suddenly poked her head back inside the gate. "You guys come on. Miraipluto is here; she's unconscious."
Sailorely sion, Deadearth, Mare, and Artemis-P went through the Time Gate, closing it behind them. Creeeeeeak... SLAM! The sound of the door shutting echoed throughout the area. They saw Miraipluto lying among the mists that surrounded the Gates. The other Mirai senshi were around her.
        "She's waking up."
Moaning, Miraipluto lifted her head to glance around. "Hey, what are you guys doing here?" She started to get up, after grabbing the Time Key off the ground next to her. Sailorpluto's Time Key and Garnet Orb, when passed on to Pluto's daughter, gained the addition of the Garnet Star. It hung from the heart-shaped topper of the Key, shining and twinkling like the Orb below it. Miraipluto saw that the Gates of Time were closed properly. "They're unlocked! The people, the two that hit me over the head, did they get through?"
"Someone hit you over the head?" Miraineptune asked.
"Yes!" Miraipluto frantically locked the Time Gate. "Someone came up from behind and conked me on the head. I've been unconscious for at least an hour. What happened? You guys wouldn't be here if everything was okay."
Sailormiraijupit er firmly took Miraipluto by the shoulders. "Two people did come through the Time Warp. They went to Elysion and attacked Elios and his sister."
Miraipluto looked at Sailorelysion, then back at Miraijupiter. "She looks okay. Was she hurt? Was anyone hurt?"
"I'm alright," Sailorelysion answered, wondering why Miraipluto always avoided talking to her.
Miraijupiter continued, "Elios and Sailorelysion are alright now, but this person who attacked them was strong, frighteningly strong. Eternalsailormoon came to the temple to protect them, and this person hurt her... so badly that Miraisaturn had to use the Winter Crystal on her."
"Then she's... that badly injured..." Miraipluto gasped.
        "Yes."
&nbs p;       "Did you see the people who did this? Because I did not..."
"I did. As did Zomi," Sailorelysion replied.
"She looked like Grammy," Deadearth added.
"There's a great deal to explain. The important thing is that the people who hurt Eternalsailormoon looked like a teenage version of Sailortriton and the Queen, wearing the fuku of the Cosmos senshi," Miraiuranus told her.
Miraipluto nodded. "So we're going to that time period to see if we can find out what's going on."
"As quickly as possible, please. We need to figure out which year they came from. Do you feel up to traveling?" Miraijupiter asked.
She lightly rubbed her head. "I'm okay. Let's go."
As the group followed Sailormiraipluto, the two sisters talked quietly to each other. "Sis, you paid attention in First Aid class, didn't you?"
"Of course. I didn't get my certificate by cheating," Miraineptune replied.
"Would you say that a person who had been unconscious for an hour would be able to jump right up and run about checking things, talking to people, and such?" Miraiuranus asked, as if she already knew the answer.
"Medically impossible. A person who had been unconscious that long would have to rest for quite some time before they could get up. They'd be too groggy to get right up like she did. Moreover, with a period of unconsciousness that long, they wouldn't even remember being hit. There'd be a partial loss of memory."
To add to that, Sailormiraiuranus wondered, "And how does a person who was hit from behind know that more than one person was involved? She said she never saw them. Yet she knew that two persons had hit her over the head."
        "It's all very suspicious."
        "To say the least."
"We should investigate this further as we are figuring everything else out."
"Yes, we should, Sis." Sailormiraiuranus took her sister's hand protectively. "And we should be careful."
"What are you two gabbing about back there?" Miraipluto called.
"Nothing," the girls sing-songed in unison.
