HoroHoro was first to rush into the hotel that played as the Tao's headquarters in Tokyo, looking around frantically for any sign of Ren or Kirara. A bellhop asked the ice shaman exactly what he was doing there.
"I'll tell you why I'm here!" he said "I'm looking for Tao Ren, that sneak!"
"Master Ren is down in the training room with a guest, should I tell him your here?"
"I'll tell him myself, come on, Kororo!" He rolled up his sleeve and began to march away from the bellhop. "Um..."
"Basement level."
"Yeah! I could've figured that out on my own!" HoroHoro, followed by the others, hopped on the elevator and rode it down the basement level. It's doors revealed quite an elaborate training room. Yoh could've sworn that it had to be twice the size of the hotel (and that's pretty fscking big.). On the wall opposite the elevator was a large window, apparently so that patrons could watch their favorite Shamans fight. Two shapes appeared in the window, Ren and Kirara. Kirara's face seemed darkened as she huddled against Ren. HoroHoro was disgusted.
"How dare you force such a beautiful lady to be a pawn in your game!" (in the background, Areia asks Amidamaru if HoroHoro always acted like that. Amidamaru nods)

"Wave to your friends, Kira-koi." She did "What do you think we should do to them?"
"..."
"If you truly love me" he whispered into her ear "You'll kill them..."
Kirara's eyelids lowered. He brought her very close and kissed her once on the lips and again on the neck. HoroHoro yelled vainly at him to let her go.
"Now go."
Kirara took Ren's spear and headed out to fight her friends.
"Kirara!" Yoh cried, racing over to hug her. Ren's words rang through her head like one of Anna's commands. ::Kill...:: He came within the spear's reach, she slashed at him, tearing his shirt and cutting him lightly across the chest.
"I will kill you all." She breathed "In the name of my love, Tao Ren!" HoroHoro could not believe his ears or eyes. He backed away and tried to sort out everything he had just witnessed and heard. His heart ached, its strained beating drowned out Pirika and Kororo's cries.
Kirara brought the spear around her shoulder in a baseball fashion and struck down everyone and their spirits/tabs, except for Pirika and HoroHoro.
"Brother! Snap out of it!" She screamed "Kirara's going to kill Yoh!" This brought him to. He looked in Yoh's direction and saw Kirara getting ready to drop the spear's head on Yoh's neck.
"No!" HoroHoro leapt up and knocked Kirara down, holding her down with all his strength, "Kirara, wake up! You can't kill your friends for him! He doesn't love you!" His voice mixed with Ren's and a battle of commands raged in her head.
::Kill them all.... You can't kill your friends....If you truly love me...Doesn't love you!:: The voices drove her mad until HoroHoro whispered.
"It's your friends who love you..." She felt tears on her face, but not her own. HoroHoro was crying.. crying for her. Friends. Kirara had never had friends...
"And your spirit..." Areia towered over the two bodies. She kneeled down, put her hand to Kirara's forehead, "Spirits of the heart and soul... free this child of the effects of the Gokai Kunkou, free her of the lies within her heart!"
"Gokai... Kunkou?"

"Rrrrr! That stupid spirit!", Ren bared his teeth, unsheathed a second spear, and raced down to stop Areia from removing his spell.
"Rise, Kirara-dono." She sat up, slightly dazed. Her mind was mixed and her heart in shreds, but she had no time to worry out all her pain. An enraged Tao burst from the doorway and made a beeline straight for Areia. Kirara sprung up and deflected Ren's attack.
"...." He smirked.
"Is something wrong, Kira-koi?" His voice caused her body to convulse, "Are you going to fight me?"
"Shut up! Areia!" She raised her hand as Areia smiled and became a small fireball, "Spirit Ball Mode!"
"Damn!"
"Hyoi Gattai!" A bright light engulfed the room, leaving a white space where only Ren, Kirara, and their spirits could be seen.
"Your family" Areia said through Kirara mouth "Will no longer bother the Nandaba bloodline!"
"Heh. I'd like to see you try, Bason! Hyoi 100 Percent!" The two spears clashed. A resonating ring drown out all thoughts. It was no longer Ren and Kirara fighting, but two warriors that had a long running family grudge. Areia and Bason heard no cries of despair from their surroundings and saw no one, not even their Shamen. This fight belonged to centuries of feuding.
HoroHoro had to be restrained by Yoh and Pirika. He shouted and begged for Kirara to stop. The two Shamen could not see the damage being inflicted upon their physical bodies, as their sight was clouded by their primary spirits' rage. Nothing would wake them until one was defeated... dead or alive.
"Chuuku Zanmai!" Ren's spears shot out at Kirara several times. Kirara deflected many of them, but still received gashes along her cheeks and arms.
"Kagami Deyou!" Kirara mirrored Ren's movements, shot for shot. This continued until both Shamen found themselves crumpled on the floor, their limbs burning from the speedy strikes of their opponent.
Yoh and HoroHoro help Kirara to her feet. Everyone raced out the hotel before Ren awoke.

"How long is he going to stay like that, Yoh-dono?" Amidamaru and the others were peeking into their room where HoroHoro hovered over a sleeping Kirara. The weakened Shamaness looked feverish, she was sweating and panting at an alarming rate, but her condition was clearer as HoroHoro tended to her. He checked her ice pack, wiped the sweat off her face, and made sure that her temperature was returning to normal.
"I'm not sure."
"It will last as long as Kirara-dono fights the spells."
"Spells?"
"The Gokai Kunkou and its release spell are only effective if the victim chooses which side to fall into." Areia stood and walked a small ways from the door, followed by a curious Yoh, Manta, and Amidamaru, "To return to the one who lit the Gokai Kunkou would me that she would have no other thoughts but to please him. On the other hand, if she were to succumb to the release spell, everything would be hunky-dory."
"So why is it taking so long for her to choose?" Asked Manta.
"Well... it's kinda hard to explain. It all has to do with Kirara-dono's family curse."
"Curse?"
"But" Yoh interjected "Why was she able to fight yesterday?"
"It, uh, wasn't her fighting at all yesterday." Areia looked off in the distance, "It was just me and Bason."
"You know Bason!?!"
"Indirectly."
"But you're a Japanese samurai!" Amidamaru was confounded.
"Some men killed me and my family in his name. I suppose the same happened to him. Hm."
