Manic and Surge arrived at their room at the palace through a ring portal.

 Manic kissed Surge. “Okay, you get settled in while I check in with everyone.” He said, setting the bags on the bed. 

 “Alright.” Surge replied. “Tell them I said hello.”

 Manic left the room.

 Surge unpacked their bags. She hummed softly as she put Manic’s things away. 

 Her other belongings (only clothes) were put away already.

 Surge huffed and pulled them out. “Send ‘em to charity.” She muttered as she texted the maid to pick them up. 

 She started hanging up her new clothes that Manic had bought her as she waited for the maid.

 Surge sat on the bed, listening to music on her phone.

 Manic marched in and flopped down on the bed beside Surge.

 Surge shut off her music, then looked at Manic. “What’s wrong?” 

 “Nothing’s wrong, just shocked.” Manic replied. “I’m gonna be an uncle. Sis and Sally are pregnant.”

 Surge dropped her phone on the bedside table. “Both of them?” She nearly shrieked. “Both of them just got married a few months ago. Is that a law here?”

 “Nah, just encouraged.” Manic replied. “So Ma was bugging me about having heirs, I mean kids.”

 Surge pulled her knees to her chest.

 “Relax, I’m not ready for that either.” Manic said. “I told her to back off since we just got married. She agreed, thank God.”

 “Good.” Surge replied.

 “Do you ever want to have any?” Manic asked. “I’m willing to adopt instead. I just want kids someday.”

 “Hadn’t ever thought about it.” Surge replied. “I don’t think I’d be a great mom.”

 “You don’t have to be perfect and you can learn.” Manic said. “I can teach you. I know what to do since my family adopted Tails when he was a baby and Ma made us help her with him.”

 “Thanks, but I’m not sure which way to go on that.” Surge replied.

 “That’s okay, we have plenty of time to decide.” Manic said. “It’s too early to have kids anyway.”

 “Your Ma won’t freak out if we don’t?” Surge asked. “Will this affect the treaty?”

 “Nah, I love ya.” Manic replied. “I’m not gonna dump you. If anything, I’m gonna figure out how to bring Kit here.”  

 “I don’t know how Starline will react to it.” Surge said, tensing up.

 Manic sat up and hugged her. “Hey, don’t worry.” He replied. “I’m not scared of Starline. Shads and Sonic can handle him.”

 Surge thought about it. “Here’s my opportunity to tell him about Robotnik.” She thought. “But Kit’s still there. I’ll make sure he’s safe first before I tell Manic what’s going on.”

 “Babe?” Manic asked. “Are you okay?”

 “Yeah, I’m fine.” Surge replied.

 Manic kissed Surge. “You’re gonna be okay.” He said. “Love ya, babe.”

 “Love ya too, Cute stuff.” Surge replied.
