Chapter 10
Where oh where is kitty hiding? Dren wondered as he hopped from roof to roof. He couldn’t stop think of how he’d touchier her when he caught her. A slow very painful death awaits kitty cat. Dren smiled at his own thoughts. He only had to find her. Dren stopped on top of a tall building. He looked down at the humans below. They passed by each other going on with their day to day lives. Dren couldn’t help but feel like he was going to be sick by the fumes of those awful inventions humans rode in. Disgusting creatures, he thought with pure hatred. I can’t wait to kill them all. At least that way the cyniclons will have their peaceful green planet. Dren suddenly thought of something. I think I’m gonna have a little fun, he thought. He sized up the building he stood on. With so many windows, someone was bound to get a good slice.
An infuser formed in Dren’s hand. “Go!” he yelled as he threw it at the base of the building. The building came crashing down. Humans screamed and ran in hopes of saving their lives. Dren laughed, “Serves you humans’ right!” The great building was suddenly caught on the smaller building opposite of it. “Oh drat,” complained Dren. Another infuser formed in his hand. “Oh well, I can fix that!” he boasted happily.

Zoey ran in the direction she had followed Feather paw. A chance to make peace was all Zoey needed. She knew Mew Mews and humans would come to an understanding. It just took one’s courage to speak to the other. Fang was obviously willing to talk. Zoey just had to get the humans to agree. The sun shone warmly on her back. Her ears and tail picked up the warmth and sent it through Zoey. All was bright again. Zoey took a moment to look up at the morning clouds. She found them to be grey as though rain were coming. Odd, I don’t sense rain, Zoey thought. Her ears picked up screams. Oh no, the cyniclons, Zoey thought. If only Earth could make peace with them too. The world would be a better place. Oh well, at least this way Zoey could clear the Mew name among humans. She raced to the part of town on fire.

“Hurry up,” called Renee in the lead. She, the other Mews, and Mark were racing to downtown Tokyo. There, the cyniclons were causing trouble again. “People aren’t going to thank us this time,” called Corina.
“This isn’t for fame or thanks,” answered Renee. “It’s our job to help.” They continued running in silence.

“Ha ha ha, run pathetic humans,” laughed Dren. He was enjoying their pain. “Dren!” yelled Zoey.
“Why if it isn’t little kitty cat,” cheered Dren happily. “I thought you were missing. Oh well, just the Mew I was looking for.” Dren’s siths appeared in his hands. He charged at Zoey. Zoey was quick to dodge. “I don’t have time for you!” she hissed at him. She raced to the fallen building. Fire burned brightly off of it. “Not so fast kitty!” yelled Dren. He had gathered himself as fast as he had missed Zoey. He shot after her. Zoey turned in the air. Dren attacked; but he was the one sent to the ground. Zoey touched down gently. A group of Mews landed next to her.
“Thanks Swift wind,” nodded Zoey. The young she cat flicked her tail. Suddenly reality hit Zoey once more. She looked at the building not even five feet away. “Guys, we have to help them,” she begged the other Mews.
“Us? Help humans?” spat Two tail. No tail hit Two tail in the ribs. She glared at No tail, but said nothing. Zoey couldn’t wait any longer. She didn’t care if these other mews help or not; she had to do something. Zoey crashed herself through the nearest window of the fire filled building. (Note: yes I’m a piro, so what) “Help!” cried an older man. He and some co-workers had been trapped in the office. One was still; unknown to be dead or alive.
“Please help us,” cried the secretary. Next moment the door was flung out of the way; as was the burning desk. “Come on!” yelled Zoey over the fire.
“It’s a Mew Mew,” cried another worker.
“We’re dead for sure,” hissed the older man. Zoey felt frustrated at how they would rather chance the fire than allow her to help. She restrained herself from the want to leave them. There was an even greater want to help these people. “Come on, I’m not gonna hurt you,” she yelled to them. “I’m here to help.” The humans were still unsure. Suddenly, Zoey felt a tingle down her spine. She turned to see the largest Cock roach ever! Zoey couldn’t help but scream from being startled. The roach didn’t seem to like that very much. As fast as it could, the roach screed away.
Zoey sighed with relief. That had to have been the easiest battle she had ever been in. She returned to her earlier priority. “Come on,” she called to the people. They still didn’t seem to trust her. A young woman sighed, “I’d rather die quick at her hands than in this hell hole.” She walked over to Zoey. Zoey was becoming very frustrated. It wasn’t us! It was the wild Mews! Zoey desperately wanted to yell at the other girl. However, Zoey held her tongue. Following the other girls example, the other five or six people followed.
Zoey fought through the fire. Using her Strawberry bell; Zoey made quick work of the embers on the floor. Soon she found the window she had originally entered in from. She looked down to the ground. For her the jump wasn’t a problem; humans however… Zoey hadn’t realized how high she had jumped to help these ungrateful people. How quick one’s day goes from good to bad. “Dream paw,” a voice called behind Zoey. Zoey was surprised to turn and find a Mew with magnificent blue wings. With him were about a dozen people. “Do I know you?” Zoey asked. “Never mind, we have to get these people to safety.”
The winged boy looked at the people around him. He seemed very uneasy. “I can carry someone on my back,” he answered. He knelt down in front of the nearest person. Shakily, the young man got on to the winged Mew’s back. “Don’t you dare pull on my feathers,” added the winged Mew. Then he picked up the next closest person, and took off out the window. Two at once… Why didn’t I think about that? Zoey knew this was no time to ponder such a thing. “Get on my back,” ordered Zoey. The young woman from earlier did as Zoey ordered. Zoey realized she was unable to carry more people as the winged Mew had done. Damn Wild Mew showing off, Zoey cursed. “I can’t take more than one at a time,” she told the other people. “Don’t worry; I’ll be back with more help.” With that she left out the window.
With little grace, Zoey touched down on the ground. She let the young woman off her back. “Run for safety,” Zoey ordered. “See if you can also get help.” The young woman nodded at Zoey confused. Zoey was about to jump up again when she was startle by a sound. Zoey looked about for where it was coming from. “Zoey!” yelled the voice. Zoey finally noticed her friends rushing to her side.
Zoey was nearly tackled with hugs. “Zoey! You’re safe, you’re safe!” cheered Kiki.
“Everyone…” Zoey was cut off by a slap on the face. “DON’T ever scare us like that again!” cried Corina. Zoey put her hand on the place Corina had slapped her. “You guys missed me so much it hurts,” Zoey commented. The others smiled. “Enough of this reunion, there’ll be time for this later,” said Renee.
“Renee’s right!” responded Zoey. “We’ve got people to save! Come on; this way.” Zoey jumped up to the window she had left the other people at. Her friends were close behind her. Once in the building, Zoey noticed there were less people waiting at the window.
“Where did all the others go?” Zoey asked. It wasn’t a human who answered. “I thought you wanted us to help,” commented Two tail as she emerged from the crowd. “Here we’re working hard while stop to chat with these four. Come on Dream paw, get a move on!” With those words, Two tail left. She was carrying two people as the winged Mew had down. “Dream paw?” asked Bridget.
“Don’t ask,” Zoey answered. Her tail and ears were drooped from annoyance. Kiki looked about. “I don’t know if I can lift anybody,” she said. “They’re all bigger than me.”
“See if you can be of assistance to one of the wild Mews,” suggest Zoey. Kiki nodded, and left. Zoey had a lot of explaining to do when this was over. The other four Mews began lifting people on their backs, and descending to the ground. It took each mew, with the help of No tail, and Two tail, about one or two trips until the people had been evacuated.
“Deep sea castanets!” yelled Bridget as she sent water over the burning building.
“Tidal wave crash!” called a males voice not far from the mews. More water was sent over the building in a gigantic wave. A deep wolf’s howl echoed the scene. Renee stopped to listen.
“What the…?” Renee spoke. The other Mews turned to face Renee. “What’s the matter?” asked Corina.
“The Wolf,” answered Renee. “It’s telling all Mews to retreat.”
“But there’s still so many to save,” responded Bridget.
“I don’t think they ever planned on saving people,” answered Zoey.
In a flash, a group of Mew Mews had raced through past the five girls. Some of the other Mews stopped. Zoey recognized Feather paw, Swift paw, little claw, and the winged mew from earlier, but the male wolf she didn’t recognize. The five wild Mews grabbed the five girls, and carried them away from the seen. No matter how much the five mews fought for freedom, the wild mews refused to let go.

Mark was in the form of the blue knight. He had wanted to go see Zoey first, but Dren had suddenly attacked before Mark had the chance. Dren had been carrying on about Zoey being his toy, and that Mark should back off. Mark was arguing about Zoey not being Dren’s. “She’s mine!” answered Dren. He sliced at Mark with his sith. “Never!” responded Mark. He retaliated with his sword. Next moment a wolf call broke out. The two stopped their fighting long enough to see the retreating Wild Mews; Kidnapping while doing so. “Zoey!” yelled Mark. He tried to race after the wild Mews, but Dren cut him off. “First I’ll kill you,” Dren hissed. He was standing between Mark and the fleeting Mews. “Then I’ll go play with the Mew Mews,” Dren finished. He attacked Mark once again. Mark couldn’t help but fight. There was no place for him to break free and safe the mews; including Zoey.
“Dren!” scolded Tarb as he and Zardon appeared on the seen. The two flew down; grabbed Dren, and disappeared. At that time, no Mews remained. There were only people desperately trying to help the remaining people in the building become free. Mark could believe it. The Mews were gone. Not just Zoey, but all of them. Tokyo was, for certain, no longer safe.

I feel disappointed in myself. I really wanted to add more, but then I’d not only give away too much; the chap. would have been 10 pages long (estimated). Sorry this chap was so disappointing. Next chap things should pick up. And I’m REALLY sorry this was late. Updating 7&8 at once threw me off. Anyway, all is well now. Till next time.
