Chapter 2
(still in Miyaki's dream)
Miyaki, after looking at Pegasus' soul card, then walkd to Pegasus, who was
unconscious. His eyes were glazed and lifeless. Miyaki said, "Why? Why did this
have to happen?" "Miyaki....." said a voice in Miyaki's mind. She instantly
recognized the voice as her love's. "Is...that you?" Miyaki said, embracing the
soulless Maximilian. "Just keep running, and don't look back. Someday, I'll be there
with you, and we'll leave this place....together."
Then the dream ended.
Miyaki woke up in her apartment in San Francisco. It was 5:36 AM, the time
Pegasus' soul was stolen. "Was that a dream?.....It felt real...." Just then
she remembered. "Oh no! I must hurry!" She changed her clothes and ran to the
Industrial Illusions building.
Later.....9:30 AM. The airport.
Yugi and his friends had finally arrived at Los Angeles Airport. "Well, we're here,"
Yugi said. "I hope we're not too late." They rented a car, in which Joey drove.
On their way to the Industrial Illusions building, while stopping at the Gas Station,
they saw Raphael and Valon, along with someone who appeared to
be Mai. When they finally arived at the Industrial Illusion building, they saw something
moving in the bushes. "Stay on your guard," Yugi, who tarnsformed into Yami Yugi, said.
Turns out there was supposedly nothing. It was actually Miyaki who was hiding. She did
not want to be caught by Mai, Valon, and Raphael. As they walked in, they saw Mai. Joey said,
"Hey Mai! What brings you here?" Yami Yugi said, "Have you, by any chance, seen Pegasus?"
Mai then took out the soul card sealing Pegasus' soul. Everyone was surprised, including
Miyaki, who was the most shocked. She could not stand to see her love part from her.
"So that wasn't a dream," Miyaki thought. "It was a vision of what had already happened.
If only I had been there earlier...." She looked away, closed her eyes, and wept silently.
"Mai, what is the meaning of this!?" Yami Yugi asked. "Simple," Mai said. "I was tired of
being seen as a loser. Joey, I challenge you to a duel!" She activated
the Seal of Orichalcos, and her eyes glowed with evil. "Joey....you're mine!"
Joey said, "Not if I can help it!"
While the duel progressed, Mai told Joey everything about how she met Valon, how they
got along, and how she joined Doom. While hearing all this, Miyaki thought, "So she was
a good person once. Why did she join the dark side?" Joey concluded the duel using the
Legendary Dragon Helmos card, and by using the attack Time Mallet to wipe out all of
Mai's monsters. No souls were stolen, though, as just as Mai was about to lose, Varon jumped
in and used his Orichalcos crystal to break the Seal of Orichalcos.
Valon and Raphael escaped, taking Mai with them. Joey said, "Dang it......Mai's one of those
creeps now? Pegasus is gone!? Shoulda seen this comin'....." Just then, Miyaki stepped out of her
hiding place. "Who are you?" Tristan asked. Miyaki said, "I am Miyaki Yumishisa." Téa said,
"I think I saw you.....you were crying when you saw.....well....you know....Anyway, nice to
meet you, Miyaki! I'm Téa. This is Tristan, Yugi, Joey--"
Just then, Kaiba, Mokuba, Duke, Weevil, and Rex appeared.
Téa continued, "That's Seto Kaiba and his brother, Mokuba. That's Duke Devlin, Weevil, and Rex"
Miyaki said, "Nice meeting you all. I am Miyaki."
Joey said, "Yeah yeah, warm fuzzies all around. But wait a minute! The key card!"
Everyone looked at a card on the floor with a picture of a key on it. "Hmm...."
So they all went to a room in the Industrial Illusions building. They entered using the key
card, and inside, it showed a hologram of Pegasus. The hologram
of Pegasus said, " If you are seening this, I
probably never got a chance to talk to you. Anyway...." He discussed everything about Dartz and
his plans,and the Legendary Dragons. Lastly he said, "And Miyaki, I'm sorry I have to leave you
like this. I hope you'll be alright." Just then, Miyaki had an idea. "Duke....is it?" Duke
said, "Yes?" Miyaki said, "Follow me." They went into Pegasus' office where he was attacked.
There they found Pegasus lying on the floor, eyes glazed, breathing shallow, just like Miyaki
saw it in her dream. Duke said, "Okay! Help me carry him out." They dragged him out of the room.
Yugi said, "Guys? What are you doing?" Miyaki said, "Doom may have his soul....but we have his
body!" They laid him genly against the wall. He was looking down. Miyaki said, "Maximilian?
My love? It's me.....Miyaki." Pegasus looked up. "Mi.....ya....ki....?" He looked down again.
"No use," Duke said. "He's in a vegetative state. He could fall into a coma. Let's take him
to a clinic."
They took him to a clinic. Tristan and Kaiba slowly, but gently, laid Pegasus on one of the
hospital beds. Miyaki walked up to him. "My love...Yugi will save you...if not, I will..."
She leaned over to delicately plant a kiss on his forehead. Kaiba said, "Well, I'm going with
Mokuba. I'm going to stop whomever's behind this, even if it means by myself." Yugi said, "Okay.
Tristan, Duke, Téa, Joey, Weevil and Rex are coming with me." Joey said, "Hey Miyaki. Wanna come
with?" Miyaki said, "Sure...."
