chapter 3
On the road, Yugi, Téa, Tristan, Duke, Joey, Weevil, Rex, and Miyaki were headed for
Rebecca's house, as Rebecca needed to speak with them.
Meanwhile, Raphael, Valon, and Mai were arguing. Mai said, "Why did you save me Varon!?
I was going to steal Joey's soul, but then you jumped in!" Valon said, "To be honest,
Mai.......I had to do it. I couldn't stand the thought of you losing your soul. I'd
rather have my own soul stolen instead." Raphael said, "By the way, Mai, did you see the girl
Master Dartz was looking for?" Mai said, "Yes, but I couldn't do anything at the moment;
I was dueling. I believe her name was.....Miyaki." She climbed onto her motorbike and rode
off into the distance.
When Yugi and his friends arrived at Rebecca's place, they gasped. It was burnt to rubble!
"Rebecca? Are you there?" Yugi asked. Rebecca came out of hiding and ran to Yugi crying.
"Oh Yugi! It was terrible! The house was burnt, Grandpa's missing, and...." Yugi said, "Calm
down." Miyaki said to Yugi, "Yugi, do you know her?" Rebecca introduced herself. "I'm Rebecca
Hawkins." Miyaki said, "I'm Miyaki Yumishisa." Duke said, "Name's Duke Devlin." Rebecca said,
"Nice to meet you all, but how about we spend the night in my grandpa's trailer?"
After eating dinner, Yugi, Tristan, Téa, Duke, Joey, Miyaki, and Rebecca talked about what
had happened. After a long conversation, Miyaki said to Duke and Yugi, "Um....guys.....
can we please talk in private? It's about....you know...." Duke said, "Okay..."
They headed to an empty bedroom. The lights were not on. Only silver moonlight illumimated
the area. Yugi said, "So.....what is it you want to tell us? About you and Pegasus...."
Miyaki said, "Well, I don't know what happened to my birth parents.....so I lived with my
adoptive family. They were a Japanese family living in San Francisco. They saw me as a unique
and unusual child......but they still loved me. I don't want to get too into detail, but they
eventually died, leaving me with no real home. I lived alone....I needed someone to live with.
I found that someone eventually, when I met Pegasus. He was the only love of my life, and
he was very gentle. He always cared for me. There's even a portrait of us together...."
She took out a portrait of her and Pegasus. "But now....he's gone....and I'm alone...."
Duke said, "You're never alone. You're with us now." Miyaki said, "Thanks." Yugi said,
"It is rather late. You should get some rest and take your mind off this for a while."
That night, Miyaki had a dream.
She saw herself in the Industrial Illusions building. She saw Pegasus say to her, "It might
not be me Dartz is after. It may be you. Run! I'll hold them off." Miayki ran, but then stopped
to look back. Pegasus said, "Don't worry about me. Go! Save yourself!"
Then she saw the Orichalcos duel between Pegasus and Mai. Mai said, "Where is the girl?
We must know where she is!" Pegasus said, "There's no way I'm telling you!" Mai said, "Then
you will give up your soul." Pegasus lost, and his soul was stolen. As he fell to the ground,
his last words were, "Forgive me....Miyaki...."
Miyaki woke up. It was 11:59 am. She saw Rebecca standing next to her. "Where are Yugi and
the others?" Miyaki said. Rebecca said, "Yugi was chasing after this person named Raphael
....Duke, Tristan, Weevil, Rex, and Joey are looking for him now.... I hope Yugi's
all right...." Miyaki said, "I must go!" She grabbed her Duel Disk, equipped her deck,
and ran off. Rebecca said, "Wait! Miyaki...."
