Summary: Part two of the Heal My Heart, Replace My Soul series. It is the beginning of the summer. School is out. Kagome is going to her cousin's house. She was going because apparently she is having depression issues and her mom thought it would be best if she left the house. Her mother also had thought that maybe her cousin's could cheer her up. But who catches Kagome's eyes? And poor Yusuke, Keiko dumped him. . . (o0o0o, I spoiled it!) Every one that belongs on Yu Yu Hakusho is 17 as Kagome is 16.

Chapter one: The Night Before Leaving

 

SLAP!

“Yusuke, I am sorry, but I met someone new! Someone who doesn't have missions to go on, and doesn't stand me up! Someone who is more responsible than you will EVER be!” Keiko shouted at Yusuke. Once again, he got called on a mission, and that left Keiko alone. “FINE! WHATEVER! I DON'T NEED YOU! BYE!” With that, Yusuke ran away from Keiko. `Damn her to hell! Sayin' I'm not responsible! I have to save everyone from goddamn things that no one knows exists!' Yusuke screamed in his head.

` Yusuke walked over to Kuwabara's house. Yusuke knocked on the door, and Shizuru appeared. “Hey Yusk. What you doing here?” Kuwabara said from behind his sister. “Can I come in? Keiko and I are no longer.” Yusuke said in an agitated tone. “Sure.” Replied Shizuru, who happened to be smoking. (No surprise there!)

The guys sat on a large brown comfy sofa in the living room. “My cousin is coming over for the summer. I thought I would give you a heads up,” Kuwabara said after they had sat down. “Really, what's her name?” Yusuke said. He was bored, angry, upset and a tad bit interested. “Her name is Higurashi Kagome. She has depression issues and my aunt thinks her coming over here will cheer her up,” Kuwabara shrugged but continued, “If anything, she would become more depressed at the sight of this dump.” After Kuwabara said this, Yusuke asked a slightly perverted question, “Is she hot?”

 

“Kagome dear, we have a change in plans… We aren't having guests coming over, but you are going to go to your Cousin Shizuru and Kuwabara's for the summer, so pack up!” Ruth, Kagome's mother, called from downstairs.

Kagome was in her room drawing some pictures. She loves to draw. The things she drew were things from her past. She wouldn't dare draw Inuyasha or someone, but more like some-things; for instance a village, old swords, and other feudal era things. She stopped drawing when she heard her mother's voice yelling. She heard her mother and decided to just start packing.

She packed pants with chains, several oversized tees, some well fitting tees, socks, underwear, several different colored laced bras, some black skirts, and more. By the time she was done, she had packed three suitcases full of clothing, and still had to pack. The next bag wasn't too big, but more like the size of your average brief case, but a bit larger. In this bag she put in a hair drier, hair brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, some feminine products for her monthly, her hair straightener, and some hair ties. Then she got a small blanket and put it in there. She then put in some black heels and regular black high top converses before closing that small suitcase. At first she didn't think it would fit, but it did. She knew she was leaving tomorrow so she kept out an outfit to change into.

That is when she went downstairs for dinner, and to her amazement, Souta was at the table and so was Suzume, his girlfriend. They were silently talking and holding hands and laughing at god knows what. Her mother set the last of the food down on the table and smiled to Kagome before motioning for her to sit down.

Kagome looked at the food. It was baked barbeque chicken with the obvious barbeque sauce, side of mashed potatoes, and buttered rice mixed in with some chopped garlic. Although Kagome didn't show it, she was ecstatic. It was one of her favorite meals to eat. So, she did what everyone else would normally do with food in front of them, she ate it. She even went after seconds.

 

Yusuke had to leave early. Kuwabara and Shizuru had to clean up the place a bit for Kagome's arrival and stay. While Yusuke was walking home, he spotted Hiei and Kurama walking down the street. “Yo Hiei, Kurama!” Yusuke shouted. “Yusuke, hello,” came Kurama's natural calm reply once he and Hiei crossed the street. “Kuwabara's cousin is coming over for the summer. I think we should warn Botan about popping out of nowhere,” Yusuke said. Kurama and Hiei had agreed.

“So how's Keiko?” Kurama asked. The guys had just started walking around, but at the sound of Keiko's name Yusuke stopped and growled. “Yusuke?” Kurama asked uncertain. “Oh, that ungrateful bitch? I don't know, we broke up,” Yusuke bit out before storming off. Kurama looked at Hiei and shrugged.
