Chapter2- Arriving
Kagome's brother, Souta, and his girlfriend, Suzume, grabbed Kagome's bags and put them into the trunk of the car. Kagome grabbed her drawing pad, her CD player, her CD case, her box of pencils that carried a pencil sharpener and obviously pencils, and she put in her pocket a sharp mini knife that even had a slip on case so you don't prick yourself with the knife.
After Kagome was all packed up and hugged goodbye to her brother and Suzume (remember, she doesn't speak), she sat in the passenger seat and her mother drove her off.
(At Kuwabara's house)
Kuwabara invited the guys over to meet his cousin, Kagome, and to possibly stay for the day so they could hangout.
“So when is she going to be here Shizuru?” Kuwabara questioned to his older sister, Shizuru.
“Well, Aunt Ruth just called and said that they would be here in the next ten minutes. Have patience, baby bro,” Shizuru said while lighting up another Marlboro cigarette. Kuwabara shrugged and took a seat on the couch with his friends.
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK!
Shizuru opened up the brown wooden door and smiled.
(With Kagome and her mom-ten minutes ago)
“Okay Kagome, I just got off the phone with Shizuru and she said Kazuma has some friends over he would like you to meet. Be nice. Oh, and I thought you could do a little prank on your cousin Kazuma. Remember when you were five and you used to chase little Kazuma around with a knife?” Kagome's mom paused until Kagome nodded, then she continued, “Yes, well, I got you this knife that when you go to stab someone, the blade goes into the handle on contact so you aren't really stabbing that person. I just thought maybe you could give your cousin a harmless scare for old time's sake.”
At this, Kagome let a small smile play on her lips. “That-that would be funny. Ja-just like I used to, except there wouldn't be an ambulance,” Kagome's soft, yet raspy voice came, startling the crap out of her mother, but then her mother gave a small smile.
“It's in the glove compartment. Oh, and look, we are here,” Ruth, Kagome's mother, said. She parked her car on the side of the street, popped the trunk, and helped Kagome with her bags. Then they walked up to the door of the house, and Ruth knocked on the door.
Kagome instantly recognized Shizuru and gave a small, polite smile. Shizuru looked at Kagome and gave a small smile too and let them in. Shizuru took all of Kagome's items that Kagome had in her hands and showed Ruth the room that Kagome was going to stay in. That left Kagome in the living room with Kuwabara and three other guys she didn't recognize.
After Ruth and Shizuru came back from putting away Kagome's things, Kuwabara had stood up. Just as he did this, he started to run away. Kagome had pulled out the fake knife and had started to chase him yelling out, “Come on Kazuma-kun! You need to donate your organs!” When they reached the living room, Kagome jumped on him and stabbed him. He screamed. Shizuru and Ruth were laughing, and so were the three guys Kagome didn't recognize.
When Kuwabara got over his shock, he noticed a smirking Kagome pushing in the tip of the knife. He watched as the supposed blade was pushed in and out of the handle. Then did it finally click in that the knife was just a prank. “Okay, okay, you had me there, no need to tease me…” Kuwabara grumbled. This made everyone laugh harder, except Kagome who just kept smirking. `Maybe I will like this place after all…' Kagome thought.
