Amiko: Last time on GINGA GIRI GIRI!

Kensou: Fights, and more fights! Davis and Cindy versus Rantmon, then Kino versus Rantmon!

TM: Well, all of them lose, but not without denting Rantmon.

Davis: And then... There's Jallopsimon.

Cindy: And on with the show! Let's get going now!

---- Chapter 70: The Battle with Rantmon - Part 3 : The Surge in the Storm ----

Davis and Cindy were frozen in place, staring into the cold eyes of Jallopsimon. There he
stood, upon the broken ring before the doors of Rantmon's palace. Davis and Cindy were
there, hovering over Kino with Mokona floating overhead. Cindy could hardly move. She felt
too heavy and weak. Davis felt the same.

Jallopsimon stepped forward. He began to speak, "We finally meet again, Tamer... Here I
thought that I'd catch up to you if I just ran around the world." He stood right over them,
hands on the hilts of his sheathed kodachi. "I guess it would have been convenient if I
stayed here and waited for you. But then, I wouldn't have gotten these!"

He drew his twin kodachi at once, and Davis barely moved his gloves to block. He flew back
from the impact. Jallopsimon just stood proud and tall as he saw Davis sitting there, Cindy
and Kino just behind. Davis then replied, "Damn it... Why now?! Can't you see there's
something we need to do?!"

"I don't care," replied Jallopsimon, glaring down on Davis. "Ever since my defeat, I have
done nothing but hated you. My one and only defeat... Not even battleships could stand up
against me! But this one short kid no older than me is able to do it?! Get up, Tamer. We
have a fight to settle."

Davis clenched his teeth and felt his muscles refusing to move. He felt heavier than he
ever was, fatigued from the Rantmon fight. "I guess, first thing, my name is not 'Dark
Digimon Tamer'. It's Davis!" he yelled as he got into his stance.

That struck Jallopsimon. "Davis... Davis... Where have I heard that name?" He struggled to
think. Suddenly, he felt like a lightning bolt struck his head. He felt immense pain as he
tried to remember back. He knew the name. Where? Where had he heard it?! He couldn't think
back far enough. He couldn't do anything but look ahead at Davis before him. "Davis, huh...
Doesn't matter if I know you or not. You're dead."

Jallopsimon slashed with one kodachi, Davis blocked with one glove. Jallopsimon jabbed with
the other kodachi. Davis barely moved the palm of his other hand to block. The Dark Trinity
Gloves were amazingly strong. Still, Jallopsimon shoved Davis back. Davis flew back and
crashed into the stone wall of Rantmon's castle. He coughed in pain and fell to his knees.

Jallopsimon stepped forward, acting calm in contrast to his hateful mood. He had finally
reached Davis. He could finally kill him! He held out his kodachi and said, "I don't care
about Rantmon, the Six Gods, or any of that shit. You're my enemy, Tamer!"

Davis coughed and muttered, "As I said... It's Davis!" He shoved off and got to his feet.
He struggled to form a flame. No avail. He struggled to use the darkness. He failed. Not
even the Earth would obey his command. He didn't have enough energy to do any of that.
Jallopsimon was already at Davis.

Cindy screamed, "DAVIS!" She wanted to help. She wanted to do anything! But she simply
could hardly stand up. Mokona quickly healed Cindy to the best of his ability, and then she
drew her revolvers. She didn't have energy, still, but two bullets should hurt Jallopsimon!
She fired from both revolvers.

Two bullets raced after the boy. Jallopsimon turned and raised his arm. He took two bullets
to his right arm. Cindy reloaded, wanting to stall him. But then, Jallopsimon quickly
moved. He slashed Davis' torso with both kodachi at once. Blood flew all over the wall and
stained Jallopsimon's cloths. Cindy screamed Davis' name again. Jallopsimon shook.

He began to laugh. In anger, Cindy drew her guns and fired two shots at Jallopsimon. He
took them both in the back. A crowd of fighters came from the doorway then and saw what had
happened. Davis leaned upon the wall, bloody and cut. Jallopsimon stood over him, wounded
from bullets and just laughing. Cindy was on the ground, guns raised, tears coming from her
eyes.

Jallopsimon turned and faced Cindy. "Too late, girl," said he. "My work is done."
Jallopsimon laughed and limped towards the edge of the island. His insane cackle filled the
air one last time before he toppled over the edge.

Cindy heard the crash in the water far below as she moved onto her feet. She dashed to
Davis and saw the river of blood flowing from him. Davis' eyes were tightly shut. The blood
flowing from him could not be stopped. Cindy couldn't help but burst into tears, shaking
him in a vain effort to wake him. Mokona healed the wounds, but Davis still didn't open his
eyes. He was already dead. Cindy screamed his name one more time as she clung onto him.

***

Amiko couldn't help but feel worried as she heard Cindy's screams echo through the walls.
"Cindy..." said she. She wanted to run over there and see what happened to Davis, but it
was her turn to fight Rantmon.

She saw TM dash to the door and turn to her. "I'll see what happened!" yelled TM. Amiko
nodded.

So she and Kensou stood in the Rood with Rantmon. They faced him, ready to fight. Amiko had
her bow and quiver of arrows ready as Kensou unsheathed the main blade of his weapon.
Kensou spoke, "Rantmon, I don't know what your true motives are, but I can't allow you to
destroy life."

"I am the same!" said Amiko as she docked an arrow. "People have dreams, lives, and hopes.
No matter what, you can not simply just take away everything the world created over its
history!"

Rantmon just sighed. He replied, "Just watch me." Rantmon sped forward, taking the
initiative in the fight. Amiko was quick, holding her hand out and yelling, "Razorwind
Barrier!" Rantmon struck a wall of fierce wind, and he broke through with ease.

He sped towards Amiko, blade ready. Kensou leapt into the way and blocked with the hilt of
his weapon. Rantmon stopped and leapt back. Kensou flipped his nidachi and planted the
blade into the ground, and then he jumped up and balanced on the tip of his weapon. "Shoki
Yumigata!" he screamed as he shoved off, bring the blade up and slashing straight down on
Rantmon.

It was too fast. He was definitely skilled. The blade struck Rantmon's shoulder, protected
by chain mail armor. Rantmon felt it had dented from the impact. He swore, "Shit, this guy
is good..." Then he noticed the blade. 'Damn it, not celesium again!' he complained in his
thoughts.

Then he saw Kensou grip the other end of his weapon and pull it off. He saw the other blade
being unsheathed. 'Damn it, a hidden blade!' he thought as he knocked Kensou back with his
elbow.

An arrow flew past, grazing the skin of his arm. Blood flowed from a small cut that formed.
He saw Amiko, standing tall, with another arrow already docked. She yelled her attack,
"Wind Slash!" She let the arrow fly.

"That guy's attack?!" he muttered as he saw the arrow race forward. He saw it. The wave of
wind that sped forward with the arrow. He rolled out of the way and skidded to a stop
elsewhere. Then he saw Kensou. Kensou gave him a good kick to the cheek, sending him
scraping back.

The arrows flew at him, hitting him in the chest and arms. Blood flew from the ones that
struck his arms. Rantmon swore and ripped the arrows out, ignoring all the pain and
throwing them away. He painfully moved his arms and swung his sword about, knocking away
more arrows that came his way.

Then he saw Kensou, blades split into two weapons. The new blades didn't surprise him. The
fact that they were black with Phage's blood did. He knew what would happen if he touched
them. He dodged the blades, barely avoiding certain death each time. But Kensou was in
perfect unison with Amiko.

Every dodge brought upon him more arrows. More and more hit his back and legs. Each impact
shoved him forward and forced him to barely duck under the black blades. And finally, the
harmony had reached its climax. Kensou pulled back and crouched low, ready for his
succession technique.

At the same time, Amiko gathered all the powers of the sky that she could muster in the
palm of her hand. "TYPHOON!" she screamed as she swung her arm at Rantmon. The winds raced
towards Rantmon, tearing up the tiles of stone as they went.

From Rantmon's front, Kensou screamed, "Keiji Kenbu!" And he swung his blades wildly in the
air. Rantmon felt it. The winds were changing from the movement of Kensou's blades. He then
heard various noises. All around his body, bones creaked. Rantmon knew which bones were
sounding. They were the ones near his most wounded points. The points he protected least.

The winds from his attack showed his target's weak points! Kensou sped forward at Rantmon,
blades swinging wildly. They were fast. Too fast for Rantmon to block.

The typhoon struck from behind, and Rantmon felt the energy ignoring the armor and dealing
damage to his body. And from the front, Kensou's blades came near... Rantmon then pulled
his blade back, then in a swift motion thrusted it forward, straight towards Kensou's
heart. Kensou deflected the blade with a swing from his nidachi, and it passed harmlessly
over his shoulder. Rantmon was running out of options!

Finally, Rantmon was hit. He was slashed multiple times by Kensou's attack. Not one was
dodged. Kensou struck Rantmon's shoulder, his side, his left elbow, and any other part of
Rantmon's body where he observed weakness. That was the purpose of the attack: to
concentrate all the energy of the Kamikaze Kenbu into specific points of weakness. Rantmon
flew back in pain, for Amiko's attack had stopped.

Kensou fell to his knees, exhausted. He panted for air, looking up and seeing Rantmon get
to his feet. How... How did he survive Phage's blood?! He saw Rantmon, his skin decaying
and turning to ash. He saw what happened. Blood was all over the ground.

Rantmon had quickly skinned the parts of his body where the black blades struck. Skin lay
on the ground and quickly broke into ash. Rantmon stood, bloody and angry. Rantmon then put
his fingers to his wound, letting blood spill onto them. Then he wrote on his arms and head
with the blood.

He clapped his hands together, and to Kensou and Amiko's amazement, the wounds he had
closed together. He had performed a healing spell?! Rantmon still panted, the energy
draining from him. He swore, 'Damn it, all I could do was heal my body. I should have
prepared more and learned regeneration techniques...' Even if he healed the wound, that
didn't change the fact that there was now celesium in his bloodstream. He felt weaker than
ever.

"I'll take over from here, Kensou!" he heard Amiko speak. He turned and saw Amiko holding
her hands out, open and aimed at him. She yelled, "Fall of the Sky!" Her hands moved almost
unconsciously. Rantmon felt it. Something was pressing down on him. He felt the pressure
surrounding him. Everything grew heavier.

Not only that, but he could hardly move. Everything pushing down on him also kept him in
place. The only place to go was down... Into the stone to be crushed. He saw Amiko, her
hands moving closer to each other. He gritted his teeth. The pain slowly grew. And finally,
her hands met.

The pressure around Rantmon was at its maximum, and he hardly was hurt! None of his joints
had dislocated, and he was in fact moving! Amiko couldn't hold him down long. She hoped he
would give up before she ran out of energy. She felt her hands burning and her muscles
aching. She could barely keep control of the air around Rantmon, which stung like flames.

Kensou took advantage of this. He put his weapon together and aimed the main blade at
Rantmon. Rantmon saw it. "FUTAYA!" he screamed as he launched one weapon at Rantmon. Then
he threw the other. Both weapons flew straight to Rantmon, cutting through the air and
aimed at his face.

Suddenly, Rantmon's black, tainted aura filled the area, overcoming Amiko's green aura that
surrounded him. The mixed aura stopped the weapons in their tracks. Hell, the weapons
crumbled and bent under its power. Kensou was taken aback. His aura crushed his weapons?!

That was not all. With his energy, Rantmon broke free from the Fall of the Sky. Amiko felt
her hands forcefully pulled apart. Rantmon had forced free from the attack! Rantmon stepped
towards the weapons and picked up the bent and crumpled celesium weapons by the hilt. He
tossed one at Kensou, the other at Amiko.

Both barely dodged, only to have Rantmon's speed overcome them. He kicked them both
straight on their cheeks, sending them towards the open air one after another.

They were flying out... Towards the edge... They were going to fall off!

Every one froze. No one could move. The heroes were going to die!

Suddenly, in a flash of red light, out came Amiko's bishounen, who barely caught the two
before the two had fallen over the edge. They sighed, glad for their master to have
survived.

They set her on the wall near the door, just as TM burst in, carrying Davis' body. "Amiko!"
he screamed. He looked ahead and saw Rantmon standing alone in the Rood. He then noticed
Amiko leaning on the wall by him. He saw her, bruised and fatigued. He lay Davis right
beside her, trying to hold back tears.

Amiko lost her breath. "T...TM?!" she tried to say. "D-Davis... He..."

"He's dead!" yelled Cindy from the doorway wiping tears from her eyes. Amiko was stunned.
Their friend... Their important friend... He was now dead?! He quickly turned to see Davis,
eyes closed and not moving. She whistled for Tenpi, who came out of their bags in the
corner, carrying a single feather. It was the feather of a phoenix.

Amiko shakily got to her feet and leaned over Davis. She held the phoenix feather over him.
"Come on, phoenix down!" she muttered. A light came from the feather. Davis seemed to have
his color return to him. Amiko got hope. He was coming to life!

Then, the feather tore to pieces, splitting into flame. Amiko was taken aback. She felt for
Davis' breath with her hand. She pressed her ear on Davis' chest, listening for his
heartbeat. Nothing. Not even a phoenix down had helped...

Tears welled in her eyes. She couldn't help it. Their friend had died so suddenly! She
shook all over, not knowing what to do.

But Rantmon, over there, just yawned. "Come on, people," he projected over their sobs.
"We're nearing the center of the Rift, so there's no time for you to waste!"

"SHUT UP!" screamed TM as he glared at Rantmon. Rantmon saw it. TM had Sharingan eyes
again. TM stepped forward, shaking in anger. "You... YOU SENT JALLOPSIMON, DIDN'T YOU?!" He
tightly gripped the hilt of his sword, angry beyond everything. Orion stepped out from the
crowd and placed his hand on TM's shoulder.

TM looked up and glared at Orion, unable to calm himself. TM glared at Rantmon, just as the
guy said, "Nope, wrong answer. He left on his own to pursue his own interests." Rantmon's
mouth then curled into a grin. "Heh, it would have been perfect if he had stayed loyal, but
what can you do?" He smiled at TM. "At least one pest has been eliminated!"

TM screamed and sped towards Rantmon, ready to tear him to bits. He drew his blade and held
the tip at him. "KUZU RYUU SEN!" he screamed as he came closer to Rantmon. Rantmon blocked
with his own blade. Rantmon was fast... He blocked all nine attacks with his single blade!

TM was hit straight to the face and flew back just as Orion came forward with a flame blade
coming from his right forearm. Rantmon saw it and slashed at Orion. Orion blocked with his
left hand, letting his fingers take the blade. Rantmon was surprised to see the blade stop
upon meeting the bones of his fingers. He was even more surprised when he saw Orion had
felt no pain from that.

Orion slashed at Rantmon with his flame blade, which Rantmon, too, caught with his left
hand. It didn't cut through Rantmon's skin as a flame blade should. Orion was taken aback.
"Neither aspect of the flame blade scares me!" said Rantmon as he smiled at Orion. "I can
always block before I am cut, and the flame doesn't burn me! After all, I have the Flame
God's powers!"

With that, they were deadlocked. Orion couldn't move, and neither could Rantmon. If one of
them moved, the other would press in and attack! TM was behind Orion, still glaring at
Rantmon with hateful eyes. Rantmon saw something. The Sharingan in TM's eyes had changed!

"MANGEKYOU SHARINGAN!" screamed TM. TM knew what he would do. He would make Rantmon suffer!
He imagined Rantmon crucified, and many bodies of himself all around. TM said with hatred,
"For the next two weeks, why not get ripped apar-"

Suddenly, he lost his breath. He felt a hand on his throat. His illusion disappeared. He
saw Rantmon gripping his throat. "What?!" TM could barely speak. TM couldn't free himself.
Rantmon's grip was tight.

"Wouldn't it make sense," began Rantmon, "that eyes would have to make contact for an eye
technique to work?!" TM realized his folly. It was the circlet that protected him from
that! TM had to free himself, as Rantmon had knocked Orion a distance back.

TM brought up all the energy he had. He needed to make a flame. He needed to make a flame
strong enough to harm Rantmon! He willed himself, and his tremendous red aura spilled out
of him. Even Rantmon was stunned at how massive it had grown. "FIREBALL!" screamed TM.

Suddenly, all around Rantmon, there were fireballs hanging in the air. "Hmph! Those can't
hurt me!" Rantmon boasted. That didn't stop TM from launching them straight at Rantmon.
Rantmon just swore and proceeded to kick away the individual fireballs.

They flew all over the place, tearing through walls, letting stone bricks fall upon the
spectators, exploding in the sky, and one lucky one flew straight up. Rantmon saw it. The
fireball struck the crystal of the God of Ice. "NO!" Rantmon screamed.

Then he saw it. A crack had formed in the crystal. In his lapse, TM slipped out of his
grasp. Then TM realized where he should attack! TM dashed to Orion's side. "Throw me up
there!" commanded TM.

Rantmon grew pale. He already felt even weaker. A blue aura seemed to be spilling from the
pores of his skin. TM and Orion saw it. The Ice Aura was leaving him!

Orion nodded and grabbed onto TM's shirt. Rantmon dashed at them. Still, he could not stop
Orion from tossing TM straight up with all his might. Rantmon stabbed Orion's gut. His
blade dug through Orion's belly and came to a sudden stop when it hit Orion's spine.
Orion's spine could take the blade?!

Rantmon looked up, seeing TM up and hanging upon the crystal of the God of Fire. Rantmon
grew even paler. Then he flew back, feeling Orion's flaming punch. He flew back, aghast at
Orion's survival. He saw Orion's stomach, where the wound was still open. Yet, no blood
flowed! "What the Hell?!" yelled Rantmon.

Orion stepped up to Rantmon, making flame blades from both of his forearms. Then he said,
"I am a freak of nature. My body lacks most of my blood vessels, nerves, and muscles. Where
they exist, they are protected." He pointed to the armor randomly protecting his body.
Orion pointed to his head. "Most of my vital organs are protected here, protected by bones
compressed harder than Anya's. In here lies my brain, stomach, and lungs."

"That's impossible! With only a little nerves, blood vessels, or muscles, how the Hell can
you move?!" Rantmon got to his feet, still disturbed at TM, who was stabbing at the crystal.

"This is the power of my will. My body is not in control, but my mind is. With that, I'll
show you something." He then paused. He heard something. The bellow of a dragon. Orion
looked up and saw Dromar returning and racing straight at TM. It was going to stop TM from
breaking the crystal?! He yelled at his partner, "TM! DO IT! YOU HAVE NO TIME!"

"I'M TRYING!" TM yelled back from atop the red crystal. He saw Dromar approaching, teeth
bared and claws ready to tear him apart. Still, he needed to break it! Dromar was fast
approaching, and TM knew that if he jumped, he still wouldn't escape the claws.

Then, he saw Dromar frozen in the sky. Dromar flew past, crashing one of the towers of the
palace. He saw Risika, standing up from Anya's unconscious body. "I've thrown the Seal of
Evil!" announced Risika. "Hurry up and deal with the crystal!" TM smiled and gave her
thumbs up. He turned back to the crystal, ignoring Dromar's bellows of trying to get free.
He pulled back his blade and aimed it straight at the center of a crack in the crystal.
Even if Orion didn't want him to waste his energy, he had no idea how to make his attack
stronger.

A storm appeared around his blade. Orion and Rantmon looked up and saw it. TM screamed,
"ZERO-POWERED GATOTSU!" He thrusted the blade forward, allowing the storm to spill into the
cracks of the crystal.

Rantmon screamed, "NO!" just as the storm tore apart the crystal. Suddenly, TM was knocked
off the crystal and tumbled towards the stone far below. Orion caught him in midair and
everyone looked above. They saw a storm of flames spill out of the God of Fire's tomb. Then
they looked down and saw Rantmon screaming. A red aura came from him, but he wasn't
projecting it. It was leaving him. "THIS CAN'T BE!" screamed Rantmon as the last of his red
aura disappeared and faded into the environment.

Rantmon saw the God of Fire descend upon the battlefield, standing between him and his two
enemies. The God of Fire turned to TM. "Thank you, boy!" said the God. "Now, you must free
the others. Seeing as you're a Flame element, free the God of Ice!" With that, the God of
Fire faced Rantmon. "I can only delay him for a couple of minutes before I must return to
my own place. Be quick!"

TM nodded with a grin. Their counterattack was working! TM turned to Orion and nodded.
Orion grabbed him by the shirt and tossed him up towards the blue crystal. As TM flew up,
he then saw two dragons race down towards him. Rith, the Awakener and Dromar, the Banisher!
He saw Dromar was slower than Rith. He did not know why, but if freeing a God weakened
them, might as well!

Suddenly the sky blackened. TM saw two giant bolts of lightning come crashing down upon the
two dragons. They were momentarily stunned as TM flew past. He saw Cindy below, barely
standing up and wiping the tears from her eyes. "Don't let that be a waste, TM!" screamed
Cindy.

TM smiled and turned back to the crystal of Ice. He couldn't delay. He needed to take it
out quickly. Then, he remembered what had happened with the fireball. It had cracked from
one weak fireball! He then smiled. "All it needs is the opposite element, then it breaks
easily!" TM gripped his blade as he became level with the crystal. He let his red aura fill
the sword, letting it burst into flames.

"RYUU KAN SEN!" he screamed as he swung his blade at the crystal. That crystal, too,
shattered to pieces. But so did TM's blade. It was not able to survive destroying another
crystal! But he still saw the torrent of ice come from the crystal, shoving him away and
towards the ground. He landed painfully, and mustered up strength to get to his feet.

The Flame God smiled as Rantmon was on his knees. Then the Flame God disappeared from the
scene, leaving Orion and TM there with Rantmon. Orion and TM panted. So did Rantmon. There
was screaming in the sky. Up above, Dromar was thrashing in the air, struggling to keep
afloat. Slowly, slowly, It was falling back to the ground. It bellowed as a red and blue
aura was drained from it into the environment. And it finally stopped thrashing and
bellowing. All color drained from it. Its scales broke apart and blew away in the wind.
Even the bones became powder and were lost in the wind.

The God of Ice wasn't like the God of Fire. He caught sight of TM and smiled. The God of
Ice said, "The Dragons... Rantmon... Know that both of their strength lies in us being
sealed." TM nodded. Then he faded into the environment almost immediately. TM knew he
couldn't get too much help.

Orion explained, "With his power of flame gone, not only is he now unable to summon his
tainted aura, but he lost his resistance to fire."

TM grinned. "Oh, really..." TM no longer had his sword. But good fortune had smiled upon
him! He pulled out every bit of his red aura, feeling stronger than ever. And why shouldn't
he?! The seal of mana had been broken the second the God of Fire had been freed! His red
aura filled the area around the floating island for a good distance, drawing on all the
power he had, plus the power of the unsealed Blood Sin.

He sent a giant wave of fire straight at Rantmon. It was big. Bigger than the walls! It
totally consumed Rantmon, crashing around him like water. Rantmon screamed from the center
of the flames, feeling the terrible pain of being burnt. Orion added, putting in all of his
energy to aide TM's flames. Rantmon screamed. They pushed themselves. And finally, just
about every drop of mana in them was used up.

The fell on their knees, panting with energy, seeing the smoke come from the molten stone
just behind where Rantmon had been. Then they saw it. Rantmon was still on his feet, very
much alive. They could hardly believe it!

Rantmon stepped towards them, very weak, but still just above them in strength. TM felt
dry. He felt like all of the energy in him was gone forever. That didn't stop him from
forcing himself to his feet and dashing at Rantmon with his broken sword. He thrusted it
forward, straight at Rantmon's head.

It hit the circlet. There was a crack. And the circlet broke apart. the part covering his
right eye and the side of his head shattered to pieces and crashed into the stone floor.
Rantmon forced a smile. TM was stunned. "HOW DARE YOU!" screamed Rantmon as he gave TM a
kick to the side. TM flew back. Rantmon had used all of his power to kick him!

TM skidded along the ground, struggling to get up. He couldn't. He lay on the ground,
unable to move, with Orion standing above him. Rantmon stepped towards them. "You little
shits... How could you..." He reached for the armor around his body. They were red hot,
just cooler than what it needed to melt. Still, Rantmon couldn't bear the heat. He grabbed
the armor with his fingers and tore it apart, letting the broken rings fall to the ground
with the rest of the interlocked armor.

Rantmon's chest was blackened, and the gray, throbbing substance was covering his body more
than ever. Orion stood over TM, ready to take Rantmon. Rantmon just gave him a hard punch
to the right side of his chest, shattering the armor and hitting the ribs. Orion was taken
aback. That was one of the few places where nerves existed!

He flew back, feeling pain race through his body, and fell atop TM. They were down and out.
Rantmon was still standing. Rantmon turned to look around, seeing if any one else would
come. No one did. He had won.
