SSJ: Last time on GINGA GIRI GIRI!

Amiko: Daedalus and Kino face off!

Kensou: Daedalus, though, has totally joined with Virus, becoming a monster.

TM: He is taken care of by the Trinity, but then...

Davis: Cindy had already been integrated into Virus.

Van: And now, here is the final battle! On with the show!

---- Chapter 93: Countdown to the End - 2 : Darkness Unto Death ----

The Crew stood before Virus and Cindy, gripping their weapons tightly and shaking in
anxiety. There she stood, skin a shining tone, contrasting with the giant arm of ooze aimed
high. Mauzel was tall above her, grinning and laughing shrilly.

"Come on!" called Mauzel. "I'll show you your words are meaningless!" Mauzel pointed at the
seven facing her. "Get her, girl!" Cindy's face didn't change as she flung her oozing arm
at them.

The seven quickly rolled out of the way as the arm slammed into the ground. The walls shook
under the impact, and Cindy quickly swung the arm right, towards SSJ, Amiko and Davis.
Quickly, SSJ raised his sheathed blade to block the blow as Amiko raised a wall of wind and
Davis a wall of earth. The arm came to a sudden stop then, just as TM, Van, Kino, and
Kensou dashed forward and sliced the arm clear off.

They saw the ooze fall to the ground, losing its form and crawling back to Cindy. The
earthen wall fell, the winds calmed, and SSJ returned his blade to his side as they all
watched the ooze crawl up Cindy's leg again and the arm reformed. They gritted their teeth
and scattered.

Cindy turned and saw them all with a blanket stare. She raised the arm, and everyone saw it
twist and stretch. Everyone then saw giant pieces of the ooze shoot out at each of them.
They all swore and quickly did what they could to stop it. SSJ and TM stopped the bullets
of ooze with their blades as Davis and Amiko formed walls of earth and wind. Kensou and
Kino simply ducked and dodged the missiles aimed at them.

TM suddenly recalled something. Immediately, TM dashed at Cindy, Izanagi raised high. The
others were taken by surprise at TM's rashness at attacking his friend. Even Mauzel was
surprised by TM's idiocy. "You fool!" she shouted. "You'll kill your friend!" She then saw
TM's aura's shift. She realized TM knew Virus' weakness.

"Retreat!" she screamed. Everyone then saw the wall of ooze move with great speed into
Mauzel's pores.

The ooze on Cindy's arm quickly twisted all over Cindy and entered through her mouth and
ears, but not fast enough for TM to scream, "RAIN!" Water formed everywhere, falling upon
Cindy and Mauzel. The little amount of the ooze quickly broke free and fell to the stage,
dissolved in the water. In the middle of the harsh rain, Cindy stood there, eyes still as
the water ran down her hair and face.

Mauzel stood behind her, swearing at TM, "Damn you! How could you know?!"

TM yelled back, "I learned a few things from Suzaku!" He immediately dashed at Mauzel and
Cindy.

Another blast echoed through the cathedral. TM flew back in pain, blood flying from his
head. Cindy had shot a bullet straight at TM's head. The others screamed as TM fell back
upon the ground, completely still. Mauzel's lips curled into a smile.

They all then saw TM rise to his feet, rubbing his forehead in pain. Mauzel saw with
surprise that TM had formed a wall of ice to take the bullet, yet his forehead still stung
from when the ice hit his it. "God damn it!" swore TM. "That was close!"

The others sighed at TM's reaction, but they suddenly became serious again. Mauzel swore
under her breath. With the boy knowing the weakness, the ooze couldn't move freely.
Mauzel's face twisted into a glare.

But still, even with Virus thus trapped, the Crew could only wonder how they could beat
Virus without hurting Cindy. Cindy stood before them, eyes still frozen as they stood
before her. She aimed the gun at Amiko. Before anyone could react, she pulled the trigger.

The bullet cut through the air, and Amiko barely saw the blur of the bullet. She didn't
have the time to form the wall of wind. She moved as far as she could to dodge, but it hit
her in the side. Everyone saw the blood come from Amiko's side.

Cindy again moved with immense speed, launching volleys of bullets at each of the Crew.
Kensou was hit in his leg, Kino in his hand, and Davis in his foot. TM and SSJ were struck
in the shoulder, and they all skidded away from Cindy.

'Too slow,' Mauzel thought. 'It's taking too long to defeat them. Damn it.' Mauzel turned
to the body of Daedalus. Her lips again curled into a smile. From her pores, the ooze
poured out. In his pain, TM failed to form the rain before the ooze rushed into Daedalus'
body. The line of ooze split, some returning into Mauzel's body, the rest swarming into
Daedalus'.

Everyone saw with astonishment the body rising to its feet, as if it was alive. "All I need
is a body," Daedalus spoke. "It doesn't matter, living or dead!" Daedalus threw himself at
Kino.

Kino saw the giant mass heading towards him, and he could only aim his gun at Daedalus'
body. He saw with surprise, though SSJ appearing before him and blocking Daedalus' punch
with the side of his Atma. Daedalus was taken aback as SSJ slid his fingers down the side
of his blade, putting his energy into it. "Flare!" yelled SSJ.

From his blade, a beam of energy shot out and tore straight through Daedalus' gut. Though,
even with that, SSJ was surprised to see Daedalus swing his arms at him. SSJ blocked the
impact with his blade, but was knocked back into the pews as Daedalus landed upon his feet,
blood spilling from the giant hole in his gut.

Amiko docked an arrow. "Kamaitachi!" she yelled as she let it fly at Daedalus, tearing his
arm off with the impact. Daedalus didn't scream in pain. He felt no pain. He was already
dead, after all.

There was another blast. A bullet flew straight through Daedalus' head and hit Kino in the
stomach. Everyone saw it and was taken aback as Kino coughed blood and fell on his back.
Cindy stood there upon the stage, gun smoking again. Amiko rushed towards Kino. Daedalus
turned and raised his hands to crush her.

Quickly, Davis yelled, "Mokona!"

"Puu!" Mokona yelled as he suddenly grew large enough to knock Daedalus off balance. There
suddenly was a flicker in Cindy's eyes. Mauzel felt the reaction through the ooze. She
realized that Cindy was going to regain her memory. She swore to herself as she saw the
battle continue.

Amiko sprinted towards Kino. Between her and Cindy, Mokona and Daedalus were shoving each
other with their strength. Cindy aimed the gun again at her friend. Amiko didn't see her
pull the trigger.

The bullet raced towards her, aimed straight at her head. She barely turned and saw it out
of the corner of her eye. Blood flew into the air.

Amiko looked up and saw Kensou standing above her, hand bloody from taking the bullet.
Kensou gritted his teeth in pain, but he was able to pull the bullet out with his hands.
"Kensou!" Amiko cried.

"Just heal him!" Kensou shouted back. Amiko turned back to Kino. She then nodded at Kensou
and dashed towards the president. As she worked to heal him, Kensou gripped his nidachi
with his left hand, glaring at Daedalus. 'Father...' he thought to himself. 'You were a
link in the chain of those used by Virus. Simply that... I'm sorry, but I must disobey your
wishes for my own sake.'

Kensou held his nidachi before him. Daedalus heard SSJ get to his feet, glaring at him with
narrow, triangular eyes. TM stood some distance beside him. Davis was in the corner of the
room. And he didn't see Van, straight above him. Mauzel finally noticed him. "Above!"
Daedalus looked up.

He couldn't dodge Van as the boy fell to him, kodachi gleaming. In an instant, as Van's
screams echoed along the walls, a gunshot rang in the room. It raced towards Van's skull,
and unlike TM, struck it unhindered. Every one of the others was taken aback as Van reeled
in pain.

Mauzel, though, was more taken aback by the fact that Van was still moving. The bullet fell
from Van's skull, blood rushing from when it had pierced the skin. Van ignored the pain and
slashed Daedalus down the middle, though not completely in two. Blood no longer flowed from
the giant wound, for it had all drained out.

"Talk about having a thick head!" TM screamed with surprise. Daedalus roared in anger, and
Mauzel knew he was falling apart.

Meteors suddenly formed from the stone floor, Davis' aura a shade of red and black now.
"Meteor Strike!" Davis shouted as they all tore through Daedalus. Pieces of his body tore
away with each meteor, and finally Kensou was right above Daedalus.

Kensou shoved off of the ground with the tip of his nidachi, and with one arm, flipped
before Daedalus and shouted, "SHOKI YUMIGATA!" Swinging his blade in an arc, he made a cut
straight through Daedalus, splitting him in half from shoulder to hip. Daedalus could move
no more, every part of his body cut up and broken.

Mauzel gritted her teeth as Daedalus finally fell back, throwing smoke and dust into the
air. There was the sound of a gunshot. This time, it flew past Mauzel's shoulder and hit
the wall behind her.

The smoke cleared, and Amiko and Kino stood behind the Crew, armed and ready. The seven
were gathered again- well, eight if you counted Mokona behind them. Mauzel gritted her
teeth at the inability for the worthless body of Daedalus to kill one of them. No matter.
They still couldn't free Cindy!

Cindy aimed her gun at SSJ. SSJ prepared to dodge, and everyone else tensed up. Cindy
almost pulled the trigger, but Mokona suddenly pleaded in English, "Stop this, Cindy!"

Cindy's eyes flickered again. Mauzel became pale with the realization of her bond with
Mokona. Everyone else, minus Davis, turned back in surprise at the realization that Mokona
could speak English.

Mokona swore under her breath, grabbing Cindy by the arm. "Kill them!" she yelled. Cindy
raised her gun to aim at Mokona. Mokona looked at the barrel of the weapon in surprise.
Cindy pulled the trigger.

Mokona barely shrunk in time to dodge the bullet, but he looked at Cindy in despair. She
opened her revolver, letting the shells drop out before inserting new bullets. She seemed
totally lost.

But they didn't know that she wasn't completely lost. She still has a glimmer of light
within her. Mauzel knew such and screamed, "KILL THEM!"

The Crew noticed Mauzel's sudden anxiety. She was being nervous over something. Why? None
of them had the heart to hurt either of them, but, still...

Cindy blinked.

Everyone was taken aback at that. They all knew, then, that Cindy was recovering.

"CINDY!" they screamed in unison.

"KILL THEM!" Mauzel screamed.

Cindy didn't move. She was frozen in place. "KILL THEM!" repeated Mauzel in anger. Cindy's
eyes glazed over again, and she raised her gun at Davis.

Everyone screamed at Cindy as she pulled the trigger. Davis was hit in the leg by the
bullet. Instantly, Cindy moved to aim at TM. "CINDY! STOP THIS!" TM shouted, tears forming
in his eyes. No avail. He was hit in the leg. Cindy aimed at Kino, and Mauzel began to
smile again.

Suddenly, there was a hand on Cindy's revolver. Mauzel and Cindy turned to see Van there,
face completely serious. His eyes, too, carried sadness. "WHAT-" Mauzel began. Van suddenly
struck her with his two kodachi, launching her into the air. Everyone was surprised by
Van's ruthlessness as Mauzel crashed into the ground.

"Don't just stand there, idiots!" harshly called Van, despite his own tears. "This is a
battle, here!"

The revolver was aimed at point blank towards Van's temple. Once again, Van took a bullet
to the head. He reeled back and rolled away, letting the bullet fall to the ground again.
Mauzel looked up at the boy, surprised by his cruelty and more so by his high threshold of
pain. "Don't just stop!" she cried. "Finish him!"

Cindy shot bullet and bullet at Van. Blood flew everywhere, holes appeared all over him.
Yet he didn't falter. She ran out of bullets and paused. Van shouted at Mauzel, "Is that
it?! That is all you can offer?! This pain is nothing!"

Van then saw Mauzel rise to her feet, face twisted in anger. She glared at him and said,
"No, but this pain will!"

The ooze suddenly rushed out of Mauzel's pores and opened like a net towards Van. All
around him, the ooze shot and caught a limb, and he was pulled towards Mauzel as the rest
of the ooze wrapped around the three. Several spikes tore out from the cocoon soon after,
bloody.

TM screamed, "Damn it! Rain!" Water formed from the air and flew towards the ooze. The
water hit the ooze and broke it away. The giant wall of ooze surrounding Mauzel, Cindy, and
Van began to erode. Everyone saw blood run from the stage, and after the cocoon of ooze
retracted back into Mauzel's skin, there stood Van, bloody and panting with terrible pain.
Several holes had been bored through him.

"How is that, boy?!" Mauzel called as Cindy raised her gun at Van.

Van swore, "Damn... It... This isn't the end... Not now!" Van raised his kodachi into the
air. Cindy pulled the trigger and got him in the stomach. Van swung down is blade and tore
the revolver apart. Mauzel was taken aback by Van's ability to move after such an attack.
She threw a punch and Van flew back, skidding back towards Amiko.

Amiko was quick to attend to his wounds as the rest faced Cindy. They all called out her
name, "CINDY! STOP THIS!" SSJ had a river of tears as he begged for Cindy to stop. Davis
screamed at the top of his lungs for Cindy to yield. TM's and Van's tears were still
prominently falling as they, too, pleaded.

"TOO LATE!" Mauzel shouted as the net of the ooze shot out from her pores again. Before
anyone could react, holes were bored through each of them. They all coughed blood and fell
to the ground, all seven of them.

They lay still on the ground, blood running from their many wounds. Mauzel smiled at her
victory. She began to give a shrill laugh, "Hahaha... HAHAHAHAHA! This is it! The end has
come! Victory has been achieved! With them out of the way, we can finally begin!"

Mauzel turned towards the roof of the Grand Cathedral and raised her arms up. Her beautiful
voice could be heard once more. She gave a terrifying song, and the cathedral shook from
her power. The walls rumbled and finally began to fall. The roof broke and began to
collapse on everything.

The Crew couldn't move as the giant pieces of slab and stone crashed upon them.

The Grand Cathedral began to collapse, and Mauzel's song echoed through all of the world.
Everyone within the world heard it, and became terrified at the evil within the song. In
all parts of the world, from Solarice to the Red Mountains, Mauzel's voice was heard in
every being and every person.

Above the core, the Hokuten, Team Voldemort, and the alchemists shivered in fear. In
Solarice, the congressmen quaked in their places, feeling the world coming to an end. The
people of Century City suddenly stopped in their places and prayed for anyone to save them.
The people of the Underworld heard the screams and knew that the world was ending.

All around Mauzel, with the smoke and dust rising from the collapsing cathedral, the air
seemed to strangely shift. All of a sudden, the air tore open, revealing the blue, red,
yellow, and purple hues of the Gate. Cindy made no reaction to the falling roof, the rising
dust, the open Gate, or of Mauzel's song.

As Mauzel continued singing, raising her arms to the sky, the air all around them began to
break open. All around, Gates tore through the air and revealed the colors inside. Hundreds
of Gates opened within the Core, the rips in the air spreading outward. The ship of the
Hokuten came to an abrupt stop as Gates opened all around it, everyone inside aghast.

All over the world, the frozen people saw the air crack open, revealing the brilliant
colors they never had witnessed before. Millions upon millions of people caught glimpses of
the many Gates, and it didn't take long for the number to change into billions, with Gates
ripping open at an unbelievable pace.

The winds everywhere were wild, and everyone outdoors gripped onto something to stop
themselves from flying into the Gates. Papers, small items, trash- anything that wasn't
clinging for its life flew through the Gates, and everyone screamed for dear life. And the
worst was yet to come.

Far, far above Terra, where the air couldn't reach and where the sky was black, where the
sun was at its brightest, there was a rip in space. Just out of Terra's atmosphere, a Gate
ripped open. The people of Solarice saw the Gate from so far away. It was enormous.

The Gate ripped open to an immense size, blocking the sun and instead bombarding the
surface with its many hues of light. Its growth slowed, but everyone knew what was going to
happen next. Its size would increase so it was large enough to swallow the entire planet of
Terra.

"Davis!" screamed Frank through his microphone. "SSJ! TM! ...VAN! ...AMIKO! CINDY!"

No one answered. He saw the chaos in Terra. Everyone was screaming as the Gates sucked away
everything. Everyone was silent on the other side. Frank turned white with fear. This
couldn't have happened. He refused to believe that it was the end.

He suddenly saw the lights of the room flicker on and off. He looked up with wide eyes,
refusing still to believe that hope was lost. He saw the events unfolding outside. The
realities of the matter were finally knocking on his door.

He dashed from the desk of his brother's computer to the front door. He shoved the door
open, violently knocking his parents to the ground by accident. "Frank, what are you
doing?!" they yelled at him. Yet, his gaze was fixed upon the sky. They looked up, too.
They were taken aback to see the giant Gate in the sky, with the many colors that was seen
only eight months past.

It was happening again, they realized. The terror and uncertainty was restarting. "Frank!
Get inside!" they screamed with terror. Gates suddenly ripped open all around at the ground
level. They screamed at their son again, fearing for his life.

Frank stood still, staring at the giant hole in the sky, far larger than the little ones
that had appeared beside him. He knew it was far off. Much farther off than the one over
school. And he realized it was gigantic. From California to Colorado, the Gate was clear in
the sky.

Helicopters began to fly everywhere, no channel number missing from the sky; even the
elusive Channel 1 was up covering the story. People shouted as they stepped from their
homes to see the giant spectacle. Televisions world wide showed the images over and over.
But Frank knew it was still calm. The end wouldn't come that soon!

Amidst his parent's pleas, he turned and dashed back, passing them without a glance as he
raced to his brother's room. His parents were dumbfounded.

Frank fell back to his brother's chair and watched the scene.

The entire cathedral had collapsed, leaving only Mauzel and Cindy upon the stage, and even
that was barely standing. Mauzel's song continued, driving the very planet into despair and
darkness. The Gates continued to rip open everywhere, and the people of Terra quivered in
fear. In the middle of this fear, Cindy stood, unblinking and unmoving.

There she stood, a pillar of hope for everyone. She was all anyone had left to hope for.
Everyone else had disappeared. They were all too far away. Cindy was there beside Mauzel.
All she needed to do was raise her hand and strangle Mauzel. Yet, Cindy, still, was a far
off hope.

She stood there, staring complacently at the pile of rubble that covered her friends. Smoke
and dust shrouded the area in a dirty mist, and everything was silent save for Mauzel's
song. With the darkness all around, Cindy looked upon where her friends had been.

Mauzel was too busy in her song to see Cindy blink.

She blinked twice.

In a monotone voice, she uttered, "Everyone..."

Time slowly began to speed up again. The world started to gain more color. Cindy started to
see again, but the world was still dark and cold. She stood there, above the rubble,
muttering to herself below Mauzel's song. The world had a hope, yet!
