---- Chapter 95: Countdown to the End - 0 : To Dust You Will Return ----

There was silence within the Core, as Cindy stood before the place where Mauzel crash
landed. Blood came from Mauzel's shoulder, flowing from the large wound in her shoulder.
Shards of her armor littered the area, glittering from the light as Mauzel slowly got to
her feet, her knees buckling in pain. She could barely utter, "Damn girl!" Blood suddenly
came from Mauzel's mouth. Everyone feared for Mauzel's life, then.

'Damn it!' swore Virus. 'This can't be! This can not be!' Everyone then turned to the
Gates. Mauzel did, too. They all saw that the Gates began to shrink from Virus' waning
power. "NO!" screamed Mauzel as she struggled to get to her feet. "THIS IS NOT THE END!"

Mauzel's knees buckled and she fell back upon them, lacking the strength to stand. 'Damn
it!' she screamed in her mind. 'I'll... I'll have to kill them now!'

Mauzel's scream suddenly pierced the air. Cindy saw Mauzel kneeling there, her face turned
towards the sky. Her scream split the very air in the Core, and with her, the winds began
to roar in Terra. All over Terra, everyone heard the haunting melody. It was a song of
sadness that Mauzel had kept in her heart.

Virus suddenly screamed from inside Mauzel, "What?!" To Cindy's surprise, a part of the
ooze was shoved out of Mauzel's mouth.

There was the sound of the shifting debris. Cindy turned and saw that SSJ had gotten to his
feet, blood flowing from the wounds through his cheek. "Mauzel!" shouted SSJ as he sheathed
his Atma, ignoring the pain. "Fight him with every fiber of your body! Because you're
kinder than anyone I know! Wake up!"

Amiko, too, got to her feet, left hand limp from the hole through it. "Don't let him regain
control!" screamed Amiko, as she healed her wound. "You're stronger than you think, Mauzel!
Resist him! Because... I want to see a happy ending! Wake up!"

"FINISH HIM!" TM's deep voice suddenly exploded. Cindy, Amiko, and SSJ saw TM stand,
clenching his fist as he rested his Izanagi on his shoulder. The hole in his shoulder bled
still as he continued, "I know that we will definitely all be able to smile again! Wake up!"

Mauzel's song suddenly degraded into a powerful scream, and the air about her suddenly
began to shift. All around Mauzel, the winds surged and churned, forming a tornado around
her. The rubble shifted and sped towards her. "FUTILE!" boomed Virus' voice amidst Mauzel's
screams. "YOUR EFFORTS ARE FUTILE!"

Then, everyone saw Van get to his feet, in spite of the gaping hole in his gut. "Since we
never talked, I've got nothing to say," uttered Van, gripping his tightly kodachi in both
hands. "But even if we have never talked, I believe in you! Wake up!"

"Do your part," Kensou began as he got to his feet. Everyone saw him connect his nidachi
and sheathe one end as the wound on his arm dripped with blood. "You're our only hope! Wake
up!"

Davis shakily stood, panting in pain. "You have always believed in us, and for that, we are
thankful!" shouted Davis, his gloves each glowing a different color and his aura's hue ever
changing. His side ached as he shouted, "We are here for you, this time! Wake up!"

Kino stood by Kensou, looking straight at Mauzel as his left arm bled. "This will not be
the end of the world, the Master- No, Mauzel!" Kino yelled. "The only thing that will end
here is Virus! Wake up!"

Cindy stood, stance wide as she stared at Mauzel. "Think of all the people who rely on
you!" screamed Cindy as she gripped tightly on the pistol. "The world... Both worlds, yours
and ours! Both of our worlds depend on you! It's true we have been heavily burdened at so
young an age by you, but right now, I don't care! Let us carry the burdens of the world!
Put your faith in us, just as we put our faith in you! So please, WAKE UP!"

Mauzel's piercing cry suddenly became even shriller. Everyone covered their ears as the
storm around Mauzel grew ever more violent. Debris flew towards Mauzel at an amazing speed,
and with the strength they had, everyone leapt away as the winds pulled whatever they could
towards Mauzel. "FUTILE, FUTILE, FUTILE!" Virus' terrifying voice screamed. "YOU CAN NOT
WIN!"

And suddenly, Mauzel's lips moved. The scream suddenly stopped as she uttered, "Everyone..."

"WHAT?!" Virus suddenly screamed. "IMPOSSIBLE! THIS IS COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE!"

Mauzel suddenly screamed again as the bit of ooze rising out of her mouth struggled to flow
inside her again. Mauzel suddenly bit down on the ooze, and Virus let out a scream of pain.
"You were right, everyone!" Mauzel shouted. The winds began to calm, and the Gates all
around became mere dots. "Everyone needs me... I can't let Virus defile me any longer!"

Mauzel suddenly let out a cry, and the ooze flew out of her mouth and into the air. "NO!"
screamed the ooze as the giant blob entirely shot out of Mauzel. Mauzel fell to her knees,
coughing and panting. Everyone saw the line of saliva falling from her mouth and the sweat
that shone on her skin.

Virus formed into a humanoid body, its gray eyes glaring at everyone. "Damn, damn, damn
it!" it screamed. "Impossible! This is completely impossible!"

"Clearly," SSJ cut in. "It is possible. So shut up, idiot, and accept your fate."

Virus' face contorted in anger. It felt its outer later of ooze constantly melting and
crawling back towards the body. It couldn't hold together for long. It looked up at the
Gates, seeing nothing but specks in the air, before the rips in the air finally mended and
disappeared.

'I can't fulfill my plans?!' thought Virus. 'Five million years of preparation... Felled by
kids?!' Virus looked up and glared at the eight people before it, seeing the green flashes
as Amiko went to heal each person. Virus suddenly screamed, "No, no, no! *I* will be the
one to end everything! *I* will decide the fate of the world! No accursed kid will stop me!"

The Crew saw Virus speed away and engulf Suzaku's body. Suzaku's body quickly rose, and it
leapt towards Gouki's torn body. Suddenly, the two were trapped within Virus as it
blanketed the two in ooze, churning as it crushed and changed the bodies. As quickly as
possible, TM screamed, "Waterfall!" Again, the water formed over Virus' ooze and crashed
down upon it. The beads of water bounced off, proving again that Virus was still immune to
water. Suddenly, Virus' body stopped churning.

Everyone saw Virus suddenly growing taller. They saw its arms growing longer and becoming
thinner. The fingers stretched and thinned into fine pointed claws. Its legs, too, thinned
and became long, as did the torso. The head twisted, forming two large horns protruding
from its temples and aiming towards the back of its head. From Virus' back, two large,
tattered wings came forth. Its eyes opened to reveal pitch black. The ooze no longer
melted. It stayed in perfect, demonic form as Virus glared down upon the few resisters.

Virus stood above them, taller than the cathedral was. Virus' low voice came from its
mouth, "Kill... Destroy... Break... Cut...! Obliterate! ANNIHILATE!" Virus' arm was a blur
as tiles of stone and four giant claws tore through the ground. Davis grabbed Mauzel and
followed everyone as they dodged Virus' claws, tearing through where they had just stood.

Davis flipped in the air and skidded to a stop. He then shouted, "Everyone!" The Crew
turned to him as his gloves still glowed green and brown. "Hold him off for a few minutes
while I gather enough energy for the Sigma!"

"Sigma?!" TM repeated in confusion.

"Got it!" SSJ shouted as he dashed at Virus. Everyone watched in surprise as SSJ sprinted
straight into Virus' reach. Virus' hand was a blur as it tore through the ground where SSJ
was. Dust and stone flew everywhere, but everyone saw SSJ dashing up the arm.

TM suddenly was dashing up Virus' leg, yelling at SSJ, "Don't hog the spotlight, asshole!"

SSJ grinned as he reached for his blade. SSJ made it to Virus' shoulder, as did TM on the
opposite side. They screamed at once, "Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu!" SSJ leapt into the air as TM
ducked low.

"RYUU TSUI SEN!" SSJ declared as TM, too, shouted, "RYUU KAN SEN TSUMUJI!" SSJ slammed his
blade into the top of Virus' head as TM sliced through the neck. Virus let out a bellow as
the wounds quickly closed, and with its two wings, it knocked the two from his shoulder and
into one of the few standing buildings.

Virus' arm suddenly twisted like a drill; Virus thrusted it at the building, hoping to tear
through the two. Suddenly, an arrow surrounded by green light tore through the arm, making
a large cut through the ooze. Virus turned its black eyes towards Amiko, whose aura burst
out of her body.

Amiko quickly put her bow away as she moved her aura to wrap around Virus. She held an open
hand towards Virus, who realized the air was suddenly becoming heavy. He realized the move
before Amiko shouted, "FALL OF THE SKY!" She tightly balled her fist.

Virus felt itself being trapped by the air around him, suddenly burning hot from the
pressure. Virus let out a bellow, and with all of its energy, it broke free and threw its
claws at Amiko, panting from the exertion.

Kensou was quick to shove Amiko out of the way, letting the arm tear into the already
destroyed ground. Before Amiko could thank him, Kensou had already leapt onto the arm and
dashed up it. Virus noticed at as Kensou planted the blade of his nidachi into his
shoulder. Kensou flipped upon his nidachi and shouted, "SHOKI YUMIGATA!"

A slash was made down the side of Virus' face, and Kensou quickly dodged the wings as he
unsheathed the second blade of his weapon and separated it into two. "KAMIKAZE KENBU!"
Kensou screamed as his blades suddenly became a blur. Bits of Virus' face flew off as
Kensou slashed and slashed into Virus. Virus screamed in pain as Kensou pulled his nidachi
back and began his succession technique.

The winds about Virus' head suddenly roared, further tearing off the cut ooze off of the
skin. To Kensou's surprise, though, he saw no weakness in Virus' form. He was stunned with
surprise as the tattered wings slammed into his gut, throwing him at the ground below. Far
below, Amiko caught him with the earth and set him down gently on the ground as he coughed
up blood.

SSJ got to his feet from the midst of the rubble, glaring up at Virus. He gripped his Atma
and stepped again towards the giant. He was tired of the fight. He wanted to end it then.
He glared up at Virus, and his pristine blue aura suddenly burst out. Virus glared down at
SSJ as the boy uttered, "Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu..."

SSJ suddenly became a blur, and Virus couldn't see him appear just below it, between its
feet. SSJ gripped his hilt in one hand, and with the other, he held up the flat part of the
Atma's back. He put all of his energy into his legs and leapt up. He shouted, "RYUU SHO
SEN!"

Virus suddenly felt SSJ cut upwards through its middle. It screamed in pain as a giant scar
was torn through it, and tried to reach for the boy. SSJ quickly leapt away, glaring at the
giant.

SSJ held his hand at Virus and shouted, "MEGA FLARE!" A gigantic boom came from SSJ's hand
as a beam raced from it towards Virus' head. Virus quickly moved and dodged it, smiling in
delight. However, it didn't see the beam suddenly bend and rip off its two wings. It
screamed in pain again as SSJ landed on the ground. SSJ took a good look at the shadows in
the area, and as Virus threw a fist at him, he muttered, "Shadow Dance!" He disappeared,
then, into the shadows, as the Atma was knocked away by Virus.

SSJ suddenly emerged out of the shadow on Virus' face. "What?!" Virus uttered in surprise.

"I won't allow anymore!" SSJ shouted as his aura suddenly burst everywhere. "SOLAR FLARE!"
he screamed. Everyone saw his attack for the first time- except for Davis, who was
concentrating on his Sigma. SSJ's aura suddenly raced at Virus in arcs, tearing through the
ooze and ripping apart Virus' face. SSJ's aura constantly flared and returned, hoping to
rip apart Virus.

When SSJ became too exhausted to form another flare, he saw the face of Virus reform and
smile at him. "Futile!" Virus announced proudly.

SSJ gritted his teeth in pure hatred. "NO MORE! I WON'T ALLOW ANYMORE!" he screamed.
Pulling out whatever aura he could, his aura's color changed from blue to a strange shade
of violet.

Mauzel's eyes widened in surprise. "SSJ, DON'T!" she screamed. "If you pull out anymore of
your aura, you'll kill yourself!" Everyone looked down upon Mauzel in surprise, then up at
SSJ in horror.

SSJ screamed his attack, then, "SUPERNOVA!" Everyone watched, and their hearts skipped a
beat, as an explosion suddenly roared around SSJ's body. An explosion of pure energy
erupted just beside Virus' head, ripping it and the shoulder apart. Ooze flew everywhere as
the explosion whirled in a torrent, roaring and screaming from the immense amounts of
energy. Everyone was forced to cover their eyes from the brightness of the light.

Finally, the light abated. Everyone opened their eyes to see smoke and burnt up ooze
everywhere. SSJ was panting upon Virus' burnt and destroyed shoulder. His eyes were half
open, and his skin glistened with sweat. He lost his balance and toppled from Virus'
shoulder.

Everyone shouted his name then, as he was pulled towards the ground. Suddenly, they saw the
Trinity catch him from the sky, Kino standing by them. "Is this it?!" Kino muttered as he
looked upon SSJ's unconscious body. "Is Virus immortal or something?!"

Everyone looked up at Virus, seeing the ooze stretch again and start to reform the head.
The burnt and black ooze, too, returned to the body, and Virus stood with black welts.
"That fool," it uttered again, "Absolutely futile!"

Suddenly, a gigantic icicle bore through Virus. Virus looked down upon it as he screamed in
pain. There was TM, standing in the rubble. "This is it, Virus!" TM shouted. Everyone saw
TM raise his sword into the air, and his aura burst out, blanketing the entire area with
blue. Virus watched as the aura moved into the sword.

Virus could only try to dodge as TM slashed with immense power in Virus' direction. He
screamed, "FLAME SLASH!"

A wave of red suddenly raced at Virus. Virus' eyes widened in utter disbelief as he stared
at the giant wave of flames racing towards him, making a scar in the ground. The giant wave
slashed Virus from shoulder to the same hip, charring the ooze. Virus screamed in pain.

That wasn't enough. TM put his hands together. "MIZU BUNSHIN NO JUTSU!" he screamed.
("WATER REPLICATION SKILL!") Suddenly, all the water he could gather whirled through the
air, forming clones all around the area. Everyone saw with surprise the massive numbers
that formed- one thousand strong. The bodies stood upon buildings, on the thin pillars, on
debris, and about Virus. "ATTACK!" TM yelled, and they all gave a war cry as they dashed
towards Virus.

One uppercutted through the ooze. One slashed through the ooze. Another drop kicked the
shoulder. Many raced for the face and began to rip apart the ooze with their bare hands.
Virus screamed in pain at the large numbers of ants ripping him apart. He knocked away
whatever bodies he could, seeing them split into water.

Then he saw them all raise their open hands. The winds began to gather in their hands.
Virus saw the blue auras from each of the bodies churn in their palms and form spheres of
energy. Virus watched in horror as they screamed in unison, "RASENGAN!"

Virus screamed in pain as it felt hundreds of separate storms tear through its body. It
roared in anger, and suddenly, spikes came from every part of its skin. The bodies of water
suddenly broke apart from the attack, leaving the real TM impaled through the right lung.
TM coughed up blood and fell to the ground.

Id quickly moved and caught TM, muttering, "Damn it, they're dropping like flies!"

Id then caught a glimpse of Cindy, raising her pistol at Virus. "Thunder Bullets!" she
screamed, squeezing the trigger several times and sending many sparking bullets speeding
towards Virus. Throughout its body, the bullets struck and sent a gigantic explosion racing
through the ooze. Virus screamed in pain.

And then, Van stepped towards Virus. Before Virus could recover from Cindy's attack, Van
sliced through Virus' feet and sent the giant toppling onto its back. Virus screamed in
pain as it slammed into the ground. Van moved as fast as he could to dash along Virus,
slicing through him with his kodachi.

Van reached Virus' head, and using whatever energy he had left, he jabbed his kodachi
straight into Virus' eyes.

Virus screamed in immense pain as he slapped Van away. Van felt the force of the blow and
skidded along the destroyed ground, his arm becoming dislocated. Blood came from Van's
mouth as he felt weak and fatigued.

Amiko docked three arrows at once, all aimed at the downed Virus as it was regenerating its
feet. "KAMAITACHI!" Amiko screamed as she let the arrows fly. Virus saw the three separate
arrows race at it. It yelled in pain as the three blades of wind cut through its body and
crashed into the stone ground.

Yet that didn't stop the wounds from closing on Virus' body, letting it rise to its feet.
It seemed absolutely hopeless!

"Fire," Kino's voice rang in the silence of the Crew. Amiko and Cindy saw Kino kneeling by
the Trinity as they aimed the Giga Canon at Virus' head. Virus saw it too late before a
giant beam completely ripped apart the head. Amiko and Cindy's ears ached from the boom,
and they saw the smoke coming from the canon.

"Again," Kino said blankly. The Trinity assented, and another gigantic boom filled the
area. A giant hole was made through where TM's icicle had been.

The canon's smoke became black. Kino saw, though, that the ooze still moved to reform its
body. "Once more!" Kino shouted, clearly agitated. The Trinity nodded and pulled the
trigger once again. With another immense blast, the Giga Canon exploded in the Trinity's
hands, ripping the three to pieces and launching Kino away. A beam cut through the air and
tore through Virus' shoulder, and its arm fell to the ground and shook the Core.

Kino's ears were ringing from the boom, and the Trinity reformed around him. "Are you okay,
sir?!" they yelled at him. Kino didn't respond. They saw blood coming from his ears. They
realized he was deaf!

They then saw Virus aiming its claws at them. They quickly turned and blocked the attack
before it crushed Kino. They buckled under Virus' power. "Futile, futile, FUTILE!" Virus
screamed at them. "Nothing you can do will stop me!"

"Oh yeah?" Davis' voice cut through the area. Cindy and Amiko turned to Davis. Virus looked
at Davis form the corner of its eye. It suddenly recognized the Rood Inverse made in the
air before Davis using the boy's aura. "Ready, Mokona?!" shouted Davis.

Mokona leapt upon the boy's head. Cindy shouted at Mokona in surprise, "Mokona!"

Mokona smiled upon Cindy. "It's been fun, Cindy!" he shouted. "But we've got to do this!"
Tears came from Cindy's eyes as Mokona shouted to Davis, "READY!"

Mokona began to fade, then, and Davis' Rood Gloves once again began to twist and change.
The shape became sleeker, and more pristine. The armor curved and twisted to be shaped as
angel wings. The jewels within the gloves suddenly glowed, the complete Rood Inverse
glowing in the center of each. The Rood Inverse before Davis glowed brighter than ever, and
a kanji appeared in the middle: Life.

Davis raised his hand and screamed, "SIGMA!" Seven immense, catastrophic explosions tore
throughout the air. Amiko and Cindy were forced to cover their ears again as they saw dust
and smoke rise about Davis. From the smoke quickly tore a giant beam of bright white light,
six smaller beams twirling around it.

The beams curved about the Core, flying over Amiko and Cindy, then over SSJ, over Van, over
TM, over Kensou, and over Kino. Amiko and Cindy felt the immense energy of the beams
burning their skin, even though the beams were far away. They screamed in pain, but Amiko
suddenly looked down upon herself. The wounds and scars from battle had disappeared.
"Healing?!" she uttered in surprise.

Cindy looked down upon herself, too. She saw that she had been healed. The two saw SSJ, TM,
Van, and Kino suddenly rising to their feet, seeing the beam race about the sky. Then it
curved at Virus. Virus saw it in horror as it slammed into its gut. Virus screamed in pain
as it flew back from the immense impact, feeling its gut instantly vanish, leaving an
immense hole in its body.

"Feel that, Virus!" shouted a panting Davis. "Since you hate life so much, how about being
healed?!" Virus screamed in utter pain as it suddenly shrunk. Everyone saw that Virus
reacted much differently from Davis' attack than from the previous attacks. The ooze didn't
reform the wound.

Amiko realized why. "There was no ooze to heal the wound!" she shouted. "The blight as
destroyed upon being healed!"

"Heal it!" TM shouted at Amiko.

"I CAN'T!" Amiko snapped back. "I'm just about out of mana!"

Virus stopped shrinking, then. Its final size was just over ten feet, nothing compared to
its original size. "Thanks for telling me, girl!" it shouted at Amiko. Everyone turned
white as the claws on its hand lengthened. "It's over," Virus pointed out as Davis panted
with fatigue. "Your tricks have been spent!"

Suddenly, a voice broke through the area, "Davis! The Keys!" Everyone's eyes widened in
surprise. Davis's eyes narrowed in determination.

"Yes, now's the time!" Davis shouted as he reached for his pack. Davis turned to Amiko, and
shouted, "Amiko, take this!" Using some of his little energy, he tossed the golden arrow at
Amiko. She caught it and turned to him as he pulled out a bullet.

"Cindy!" Davis yelled as he flung it at Cindy, who quickly caught it.

Davis finally retrieved the large key. He turned to Van, "VAN!" With that, he used the last
of his energy to toss the key at Van. Van caught it in his hand.

"USE IT AT ONCE!" Frank's voice echoed. "VIRUS WILL BE DEFEATED!" Amiko quickly docked her
arrow. Van prepared to slash. Cindy realized Kino's pistol was not .45 caliber, as the
bullet was. She turned white with that realization.

Virus took the first steps towards them, breaking into a sprint. Suddenly, a nidachi tore
straight through its head. Kensou was leaning upon a wall, muttering, "Futaya..."

Virus was stunned just enough for Amiko to get a good shot. "TURN TO DUST!" she screamed as
she let the arrow fly at Virus. Virus saw the shimmering gold race towards it. It struck
Virus in the gut. It was surprised at the immense pain that came from the arrow. It was
much different from the normal arrows!

Van was right above Virus. Its eyes were wide in terror as Van screamed, "DESPAIR AND DIE!"
Van slashed down upon Virus' head with the key, making a gigantic wound through to his
chest. Virus felt immense pain from the two keys within him at the same time. Van leapt
away as Virus looked ahead. There was Cindy, her aura pouring from her body.

Her right arm glowed brightly. Virus saw the armor covering Cindy's right arm, shaped as a
canon. The pistol in Cindy's arm had twisted from her aura, stretching and widening until
the clip fell from the gun. Cindy had changed the gun to suit her needs! She opened the top
of it and put the golden bullet in. She aimed her new rifle at Virus. Cindy simply uttered,
"VANISH."

She pulled the trigger of her rifle.

The rifle in Cindy's hand smoked from the explosion as the bullet cut through the air at an
amazing speed. Virus couldn't dodge it as it tore straight into its eye.

Virus screamed in pain. The keys suddenly began to glow. "HOT, HOT, HOT!" Virus screamed in
terror. "THIS CAN'T BE! THIS CAN'T BE! IT'S NOT OVER! THIS IS NOTHING!" The keys suddenly
flashed brightly and vanished. Everyone was taken aback at the moment's calm.

Suddenly, from the ground behind Virus, a gigantic gateway tore out from the broken stone.
Everyone saw the beautiful roof of the gateway, fashioned after a Japanese pagoda building.
The supports made of flowing metal and the doors with the symbol of the Rood Inverse with
Blood Sin transposed upon it shone clearly behind Virus. Virus couldn't turn around to see
its doom before the Ether Gate swung open.

The air suddenly began to be pulled towards the door. Virus screamed in terror, "NO, NO,
NO! I WON'T DISAPPEAR! I WON'T DIE! I WILL DESTROY LIFE! I WILL SUCCEED! I WILL NOT FADE
AWAY!" It struggled to keep hold on the ground, thrusting its claws into it and using all
of its strength to keep in place. The Trinity quickly stretched and formed a gigantic wall
of metal before the Crew, embedding themselves into the ground to prevent being pulled in.

Virus screamed, "FIVE MILLION YEARS! FIVE MILLION YEARS OF PLANNING AND WAITING!" Virus
suddenly felt its shoulder and legs being torn apart from the force of the Ether Gate.
"MANIPULATED DYNASTIES! USED COUNTRIES! I'VE DONE IT ALL FOR MY GAIN! AND NOW..."

Virus screamed in pain as its legs began to stretch and fly into the open doors. "I AM THE
STRONGEST! I AM THE GREATEST! I AM IMMORTAL!" Suddenly, its shoulders tore away, and from
the pain, it accidentally let go of the ground. "NO!" it screamed as it flew towards into
the Ether Gate, seeing nothing but blue all around. Its skin began to sear and break away.

The Crew heard Virus' screams of torment and pain. They shook as the Trinity returned to
their original forms, allowing them to see the Ether Gate begin to close.

Suddenly, four gigantic fingers reached out of the door. Everyone's eyes widened in pure
horror as Virus' black eye glared at them from the crack between the doors. "I WON'T
VANISH. I WON'T DESPAIR OR DIE. I WON'T RETURN TO DUST!"

Cindy suddenly dashed forward, everyone screaming at her. She dashed away from the current
and towards the doors of the Gate. She placed her hands upon it and began to shove.
Everyone else saw her struggling against Virus' giant self, and they, too, dashed forward
the put their weight against the Gate. Mauzel, too, got to her feet and helped shoving the
Gate close. Virus suddenly felt the difficulty of opening the Ether Gate. It knew it was
against the three androids and nine people, struggling against each other.

Virus put its other hand through the crack and gripped the other door. It shoved forward
with all of its might. The twelve struggling against Virus suddenly felt that they were
being shoved back. It was bad, especially since they were all exhausted. Even the Trinity's
eyes turned red from overheating.

Suddenly a voice cut through the air, "Everyone!"

Continuing their struggle, they looked back and saw Risika looking upon the spectacle from
the airship. Upon feeling Virus shove them back, they quickly turned back and put their
strength into it.

Risika turned to everyone within the ship, "Let's go!" Lee, Paul, and Orion nodded, and the
four of them leapt out of the ship and dashed to the Gate, assisting the Crew in shoving
the Gate closed. Risika turned to TM beside her and said jovially, "Nice to see you, huh?"

"Now's not the time for jokes!" TM said through clenched teeth. Risika found the fact that
he said that rather odd. But she found that Virus was putting up an incredible fight as
they skidded back a couple feet. She gritted her teeth as well and put all of her weight
into the Gate.

Ken Ichijouji and Wormmon saw the spectacle. "Wormmon!" Ken shouted. Wormmon nodded and
leapt from the ship as it neared the ground. Wormmon suddenly glowed and his form grew into
a giant that crashed into the ground, landing on his feet. Ken landed upon his evolved
digimon and shouted, "Go, Imperialdramon!" The digimon nodded and dashed to the door, and
as Amiko looked up, she saw the two helping to shove the doors closed. She smiled and
continued putting all her energy into closing the door.

They began gaining on Virus' strength. They moved forward a few inches, and then it slowly
became a few feet. Nabeshin leapt out from the ship as the four alchemist turned and saw
the hands of Virus struggling to open the gate. "I never expected to see something like
this in my life," Riza said simply.

"It's like out of one of those old folk tales, huh?!" Edward Elric said with a grin.

"Those guys are amazing," Roy noted.

"Let's go!" was all Hayden said for them to leap out of the ship as it landed. They dashed
to the Gate and assisted Cindy and Davis. The four alchemists put their energy and strength
into the effort, finding out how difficult it was.

Team Voldemort, stepping out of the ship, saw the large group of people struggling against
Virus. "Damn," Voldemort uttered with appreciation. "Those people really don't give up,
huh?"

"That's probably why they win all the time," Malik muttered. Voldemort didn't shoot a glare
at him as he normally would.

"Let us help so they leave soon!" Ma shouted.

"And then from there, the world's ours by noon!" Ze rhymed.

"And both of you are freaking loons," Bakura sarcastically added. The two glared at him.

Wormtail turned towards Voldemort. "Shall we help, Master?!" he asked.

Voldemort sighed. "Guess we have to." With that, the six of them dashed forward and began
pushing the door with their might. Van saw them in surprise, but continued struggling.

Four hands touched the door by SSJ. He turned and saw Momo's smiling face, along with
Nataku's determined grin. "You two!" SSJ uttered with surprise.

"No time for talk, boy," Nataku uttered. "Just use your strength!"

"Yeah!" Momo yelled as the two added to the struggle. The group gained upon Virus, who
became more and more fearful as the crack became smaller and smaller.

"NO!" Virus screamed. "NO, NO, NO! STOP! CEASE! DESIST! I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS! I WILL NOT
ALLOW ANYMORE OF THIS!"

Suddenly, an immensely long spike tore through Virus' forehead. Virus looked through the
crack and saw a panting figure leaning upon the side of the hatch. The spike was pulled
through Virus by the current, leaving a hole straight through its head. The figure had
broken the spike so she wouldn't get sucked in. She stepped towards the door.

Anya placed her hands by Risika. Risika looked up at her with tears in her eyes. "No time
for tears, Risika," Anya said simply. She then smiled at her. "Because we need to defeat
Virus!" Risika nodded and continued to shove ahead, joined by Anya.

Quickly, they gained on Virus. They shoved the doors forward, as Virus began losing its
grip. It screamed and demanded and ordered them to stop, but they ignored him all the same.
It struggled with all its might against the warriors fighting against him, but the Ether
Gate's crack became a thin line. Virus' fingers lost hold of the doorway.

Virus screamed as he was pulled into the pure blue. The thin line to the outside world
disappeared with a slam. Virus begged for anyone to help it. Anything. Anyone. It wanted to
win. It wanted to succeed. It wanted to destroy life! Eternal slaughter! Eternal pleasure!
It had been just about to reach it! It had been just an inch away from being a God! But it
was going to return to dust now?!

"Shit..." Virus uttered as it felt its legs suddenly disappearing. "Those kids..." His arms
disappeared. "They ruined everything..." His gut vanished. "I would have gotten away with
it, too..." The rest of his torso vanished. "...If it weren't for those meddling kids..."
Its head, and thus its entire self, disappeared.

The noise within the Core silenced, leaving the people who struggled to close the Ether
Gate standing there, looking up at the immense structure. They saw the spikes and roof of
the building begin to smoke, weaving into the air. The structure became transparent as it
slowly split into smoke, and before their eyes, they saw it disappear with the wind, fading
into the air.

Everyone was silent, looking up at where the Gate had been.

They all shook with amazement. TM fell upon his back, his laugh suddenly cutting through
the silence, "HAHAHA! YES! OH, YES!"

Cindy fell back in a sitting position and stretched out her arms. "It's over! It's finally
over!"

The feeling overwhelmed everyone. Amiko leapt to Kensou, and the two hugged each other
tightly, tears running down their cheeks. Anya fell back with the Hokuten, laughing and
smiling as the final test had been finished. Momo gripped onto SSJ as he stood there,
exhausted, but satisfied. He turned to Nataku and saw him grinning as well. Davis stood
where he was, smiling at the group. Team Voldemort grinned, knowing they helped in
defeating Virus. Hayden, Roy, Riza, and Ed couldn't help from smiling at seeing the jovial
group. Nabeshin scratched his afro and smiled as Ken took off his goggles to let the tears
stream down his eyes, Imperialdramon devolving into Wormmon again.

Suddenly, a loud crack interrupted the happiness. Everyone became silent as TM looked up at
the Izanagi still in his hand. There was a large crack in it. "Izanagi?" TM murmured with
surprise. He sat up and looked upon his Izanagi, seeing the crack spread all over. In his
hand, the blade of Izanagi suddenly shattered to tiny pieces, surprising everyone.

A large crack appeared in the Atma, as well. SSJ looked down upon the sheathe of his blade,
seeing the clear damaged line in it. He was taken aback to see it, too, shatter in his
hands. "Atma..." SSJ uttered silently.

The string of Amiko's bow tore, and the bow split into pieces, disappearing into dust. The
dagger on her side, too, broke to tiny pieces. "Huh?" Amiko said with surprise. "Our
weapons are breaking?!"

"The Legacy of Izanagi has ended," said a voice. Everyone turned to Davis in surprise. Not
knowing anything, Davis looked down, and that's when he saw the color devoid in his Rood
Gloves. Seven distinct flashes came from it, revealing Mokona, Ifrit, Shiva, Fenrir,
Pandemona, Diablos, and Alexander. "The Legacy of Izanagi has ended," repeated Mokona.

"Izanagi's destiny of hatred and despair has finally been settled," said Shiva with a
smile. "And because of that, the weapons tied to Izanagi are no longer needed."

"Thus, we don't need to be your power anymore," Diablos pointed.

"Thanks to you all, the world has returned to normal!" Fenrir said with a smile. Well, he
smiled as much as a wolf could, of course.

"Thank you for saving us before we further aided Virus," came from Alexander.

"So, I'll forgive you for what you did," Pandemona added rather harshly. Everyone
understood then that Pandemona was about as nice as he could be.

Ifrit then stood before the rest of the Incarnations. "We must leave now, Davis," said
Ifrit, the longest one in Davis' care.

Davis looked upon them all with surprise. Tears came from his eyes as he smiled upon them.
"Take care, you all who took care of me!" he thanked them. They all smiled, and with that,
five beams of light raced up from the core, towards the Overworld, leaving Mokona and
Diablos there to sigh.

Mokona floated to Cindy's head and plopped itself down upon her. "I like it here, the best,
Cindy!" he said with a smile. Cindy couldn't help but laugh.

Diablos stepped to Davis, and everyone saw him devolve back into Devimon. Devimon sighed,
"It's been a while, huh, Davis?" Davis grinned as he let Devimon step into his shadow to
rest.

TM sat there, smiling with the realization that they completed the mission. He looked upon
his palms, seeing the effects of using his Izanagi so recklessly- the calluses upon his
hands. Amiko looked upon her hands, where there were calluses and bruises from using the
bow. She smiled as well, reflecting upon her wounds and her adventures. SSJ peered at his
hands, seeing the pain and sadness he had felt along the journey symbolized in his
calluses. Cindy looked upon her palms, realizing how messed up her nails and skin were from
constant fighting. She saw the calluses and scars, remembering how she had overcome her
pain. Davis, too, looked upon his hands, taking off the plain Elemental Gloves and seeing
his bruises and sores, all the effect of his pains and efforts. Van looked upon his hands,
seeing little more than bruises and bumps. He wondered what everyone else was looking at
their hands for.

With that, everyone turned to each other. They all shot the same smile at each other, and
together, they stepped towards the ship and took their seats. And then, ever slowly, they
rose towards the sky, back towards Terra, and back to a familiar world. As the airship
became a speck in the darkness, the City of the Gods stood still, nothing moving within the
destruction. And no longer would anything move in there, again.
