End notes for Amazon Wishes & Basset Hound Dreams

I do not own any part of Ghost in the Shell - I just “channel” ;-}

In the Manga, the Major had a boyfriend from Section 1 - he makes a cameo in an episode of Stand Alone Complex: 2nd Gig, though his connection with her is not featured. He asks Batou and Togusa if they work with Motoko, that's it.

Suzuka is an OC, based loosely on some of the Major's friends who have made cameos in the TV series' as well as lots of Hentai girls I have seen in the Manga. I made her up.

Some people think that the Major is a lesbian, citing the all-girl orgy seen in the original Manga. Shirow has stated in an interview that he `didn't want to draw some guy's butt' as a real world reason for this; come on, it's Hentai for crying out loud! The in-story reason is that she makes and sells virtual-reality porn as a side business and it only works on female cyber brains because that is the equipment that _she_ has.

Whatever, personally I think if they can have those full-body sex androids/ gynoids / “dolls” - and they do, boy do they ever just watch the “Cash eye” episode of 2nd Gig - then there is no earthly reason that people with full “multi-function” prosthetic bodies can't have sex. Of whatever kind they choose… including none I suppose. Incidentally, Motoko apparently engaged in some sort of wild activity with the boyfriend mentioned above as there is a remark in the Manga to the effect of waking the neighbors again… I don't know what they were doing, but I can guess.

Batou's dog makes an appearance in the 2nd Ghost in the Shell movie, Innocence. In the movie it is referred to as `he' by everybody. In the book, After the Long Goodbye Gabriel, a.k.a. Gabu is referred to as `she.' Feeling that something got jacked up in translation and taking artistic license, I went with `he.' This book is tough to read, I feel - a kind of stilted translation from the Japanese. Sorry, don't have the author info on me; the book is in Tennessee being read by my husband whereas I am in Iraq madly writing fan fic in my down time.
