A/N: Okay...here is the remixed version...the one with all the corrections and such...and a little note to Vagabond..it's okay..no worries..I just got really anixous about the whole thing..I kept thinking suttin happened so I just put it up anyway...nice job on this one though!! The rest of the week when by in a flash and he hadn’t heard from Jaylynn or Sesshomaru since then. Everything at school continued with the strangeness and Kagome had a lot of people try-out for her dance team. It was now the weekend and today was the day he agreed to go out with Kagome. Sango suggested he just invite Kagome along with the party weekend Sango had planned for them and since he didn’t have any other ideas when Kagome called him, he invited her along and she was more than happy to come. Now, he was standing in front of his bathroom mirror looking himself over and wondering why he agreed out with her in the first place. His hair was brushed and tied back into a low pony tail like usual and he was wearing a black shirt and comfortable fitting blue jeans. Sighing, he scratched the back of his neck just as Sango barged in and he rolled his eyes not really surprised to see her.
“Ready yet?” she asked
“Yeah,” he answered “Just trying to get myself psyched up.”
“You look nice.”
“ Thanks,” he responded looking at Sango “ And you look like you.”
Sango laughed as she spun around sporting her tight fitting blue jeans, with her black boots zipped up over her pants, and her lacy looking dark purple spaghetti strap top with a tie in the front. The back of her hair was tied up in a messy bun letting a few strands fall on both sides of her face. Her eyes were brushed with dark purple eyeshadow, and dark purple and black eyeliner that made it’s way up to the corner of her eyes branching off into interesting designs. It was topped of with matching mascara and light ice purple lipstick.
“ I know.”
“ Hey, what about Ayame?,” he asked “ she’ll be the only one without a date.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that.” she said “I got her one.”
“Who?” he asked suspiciously
“You’ll see .” she said with a laugh as she ran out his room.
Following Sango, he walked out of his room and down the hallway, just as he reached the stairs he heard Sango shouting something at Kohaku. As he got closer he saw Souten and Kanna holding the camera equipment and he knew what was up.
“ Kohaku!” she screamed “ Go harass someone else!”
“ Come on Sang!” Kohaku pleaded “ This will be good for my documentary.”
“ Just let him come.” Inuyasha said causing everyone to look at him “ He has to go home before us anyway.”
“Fine whatever.” She said stomping down the stairs, “let’s go.”
Just as they opened the door they were greeted with a flash, after the spots died from their eyes they blinked to see Minako standing in front of them holding a camera.
“Minako!” Sango yelled
“Sorry,” she said with a laugh. “I knew you all wouldn’t let me take pictures so I decided to catch you off guard.”
After snapping another photo she ran past them into the house and Kohaku started to laugh.
“That will definitely make good footage.” He said as Sango rolled her eyes and continued to walk out to the car.
Upon reaching their destination which was a combination restaurant with a club which was called The Lock. They parked and jumped out instantly spotting Ayame standing out front.
“Ayame!” Sango called out as the reached her.
“Sango!” she yelled back “You look great!”
“You too.” she responded looking at Ayame. “Anybody else here yet?”
“I don’t think so.”
Suddenly, Sango felt hands wrap around her waist as she spun around looking straight at her date.
“So, you showed?” she asked flirtatiously
“How could I not?” Bankotsu asked kissing her cheek.
Kohaku was standing slightly behind them his camera rolling while Inuyasha looked around for Kagome. Just as he was about walk around a bit he felt two hands cover his eyes.
“Guess who?” she giggled
“Kagome.” he stated
“Oh, you’re no fun.” she said taking her hands down as Inuyasha spun around as his mouth dropped open.
Her hair hung around her shoulders in an almost messy way, while a dark blue strapless top hugged her body in an almost perfect way. She had on a tight short black skirt with slits on both sides and black opened toed shoes. Her make up graced her face in such a way where it brought out the intensity of her eyes as her lids look like they were kissed with dark blue star dust.
“Wow,” he said “You look even better than the first day you asked me how you looked.”
“Thanks.” she responded as she felt her face get hot.
Ayame then ran over to Kagome squealing in excitement as they all made their way into The Lock. After they were seated Kohaku set up his camera in front of the table to get all of what was going on.
“Hey Sango,” Ayame teased “Where’s my date you promised me?”
“Behind you.” she responded with a sly grin.
“Oh very funny.”
Kagome and Inuyasha blinked in shock at the man standing behind Ayame. Kohaku looked confused while Souten and Kanna exchanged glances. Sango continued to grin while Bankotsu had his arm around her shoulder not sure what the look on everyone’s faces was about.
“Sorry, I’m late.” said the voice as Ayame instantly recognized it.
Spinning around in her chair the look on her face instantly reflected that of Kagome and Inuyasha’s. She then looked back at Sango who was trying hard not to laugh.
“Koga?” she asked now confused “You’re my date?”
“Yep.”he answered sitting down in the open chair next to her “Disappointed?”
“No! “ she squealed “ Just surprised is all.”
“I figured you would be.”
After Koga took his seat Inuyasha leaned over and whispered to Sango.
“I thought you two were enemies.”
“Eh,” she whispered back “Like, I said all of a sudden the football team is starting to kiss my ass. Might as well roll with it.”
Inuyasha snickered as Sango got back to her date, as the night went on everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Once they finished eating Ayame almost instantly pulled Koga onto the dance floor and Koga was more than happy to go with her.
“Guess my match up was match point.”
“Guess so.” Kagome giggled as Kohaku and his crew disappeared with his camera equipment.
“Come on guys.” Sango said “No use sitting around.”
After Sango pulled Bankotsu out on onto the dance floor, Inuyasha and Kagome followed close behind. At first it was little awkward but then they both finally got into the music and Kagome really began to bust out some of her best moves.
“Hey! “ Inuyasha yelled over the music “You really are good.”
“Thanks.” she said back as Inuyasha grabbed her hand and she spun into him. “I try my best.”
“Ayame might be trying to show you up though.” He said pointing to Ayame who was really getting into the vibe.
Totally going on sheer impulse she pulled away from Inuyasha and grabbed Ayame whispering something in her ear. Ayame then began to make everyone make some room for them on the dance floor as Inuyasha went to stand by Koga. The music pumped through the speakers as Kagome could feel the rush, she knew dancing was what she loved to do and she knew her and Ayame were going to tear the place up. Kagome started to swivel her hips to the music as Ayame copied the motion. They had worked on a special routine that was just for the two of them, the dance was totally out of character for Kagome but that was why she loved it and as she spun, dropped to the floor and picked herself up again she could feel all the eyes on the two of them and she loved it.
“Rock on Princess!” she heard Sango scream as Ayame gave her a nod and they started into their next moves.
She began to shake her hips in an almost seductive way causing everyone to turn stare at them both. Then the faces began to disappear and all she did was concentrate on doing what she loved. She was in such a state of bliss that when they were finished she grabbed Inuyasha’s hand and pulled him close to her grinding her body into his. Not expecting that at all Inuyasha looked startled before he pulled her closer more than happy to dance with her.
“Let’s give it up for the lovely ladies!” The DJ said over the mic after their performance was over.
“Damn,” Inuyasha said in her ear “I didn’t expect that from you.”
“Expect the unexpected from me Inuyasha.” She said as she threw her arms around his neck.
Inuyasha couldn’t help but smile at the girl as they continued to dance. At first he wasn’t too crazy about going out with Kagome but everything seemed to be going okay and she surprised him by being fun to hang out with and as long as it didn’t turn into anything serious he figured it would be okay to enjoy himself. After the decade he had he figured he deserved that much.
Sango looked over at the couple and her face frowned in concern for her friend.
“Something wrong?” Bankotsu asked her as she directed her attention back to him.
“No, not at all.” she said to him as she thought to herself. ‘ I’ll just talk to him later.’
Just as she finished her thought the DJ picked up his mic again and his voice boomed across the speakers.
“Hey Hey! This is DJ Hiten cranking some tunes for you.” he said his voice pumping through the speakers. “ Now, we have an open mic night. So if you got musical talent, we’ll set you up and get you going. Anyone want to give it a go?”
The DJ scanned the crowd looking for raised hands, just as he was about to walk into the crowd and get someone like he always did he saw a hand raised in the back.
“Yeah, kid in the back.”
“My sister can sing!” Kohaku yelled “ Sango can do it!”
“Are you insane?” Sango marched over and yelled at him with Bankotsu trailing behind her.
“You sing Sango?” Bankotsu asked mildly surprised
“Yeah she does.”
“Well girl what do you say?” The DJ asked as the crowd stared at her
Pausing for a moment she looked around at the faces staring at her, and the voices coaxing her to sing. Suddenly, feeling defeated she looked up at the DJ and shook her head.
“Eh, what the hell?” she said marching over to the DJ booth.
“Yeah!” the DJ yelled “ Let’s give it up for the lady!”
The dance floor broke out into applause as Sango walked up to the DJ booth. Just as she reached the booth the DJ stared at the spot where Kohaku and his crew was in confusion then before giving her the mic he bellowed into it.
“ Yo Souten is that you?”
Kohaku and Kanna looked at Souten as her face turned a beat red. “Yeah it’s me!” she shouted back.
“Word? I’m just making sure, you look nice.”
“Hiten!” she screamed
“Sorry.” he said grinning as he helped Sango pick a song.
“How do you know him?” Kanna asked
“He’s my brother.” she said her face getting even redder.
Kagome was now standing next to Inuyasha with her mouth agape as he snickered behind his hand.
“She sings?” Kagome asked mildly shocked
“Always.” he said with a smile. “Since I can remember.”
Just as the music began to play Kagome felt a tap on her shoulder. Spinning around she saw the smiling face of her friend. Shrieking in delight she gave him a quick hug.
“Miroku!” she shrieked “This is so awesome! Everyone is out tonight!”
“You look great Kagome!” He said. “Who are you here with?”
“Ummm..” she began “ You’ll find this hard to believe but I’m actually here with -”
“Miroku,” Inuyasha said finally noticing who Kagome was speaking to. “What’s up?”
Miroku looked from Kagome to Inuyasha then it dawned on him and needless to say he was more than a little surprised. He had heard a rumor earlier in the week but he had dismissed it as just a rumor.
‘ Hojo’s going to be pissed.’ He thought to himself as his look of shock turned to a grin.
“Well Well,” he started “Nice to see you to love birds out of the nest.”
“Oh you’re regular comedian.” Kagome said with a light blush.

Suddenly, as the crowd around the three began to move themselves to the music Miroku felt like he’d heard the singer before. Looking up to the DJ booth he saw Sango standing in front of it with the mic in her hands bellowing her heart out.
“Wow!” Kagome yelled “She’s really good!”
“That voice.” Miroku whispered to himself as Kagome and Inuyasha worked through the crowd for a better view.

Miroku stared trying to figure out why her singing sounded so familiar. Not really paying attention he almost jumped when his date grabbed his hand pulling him into the now forming crowd around the DJ booth.

Sango stood in front of the DJ booth as the crowd formed around her. She loved to sing and she loved to write music. It was what she really loved to do, and here she was singing again in front of a crowd feeling their energy. She scanned the crowd and spotted Bankotsu jumping up and down in the back near Kohaku and just when she was really going to get into it she saw Miroku pressed up against that same girl she saw with him all week.

Ayame and Koga were standing side by side jumping up and down to the fast paced beat. He looked over at Ayame and couldn’t help but smile, at first when Sango asked him the favor he thought she hit her head or something. But then he thought about the team togetherness bit Hojo was beginning to drive at after Kagome broke up with him in order to get information out of Sango and figured he might as well. Ayame was pretty, and had a very interesting personality. Ayame caught him looking at her and smiled as they both stopped jumping. Personally, Koga didn’t like Sango too much at all but he had to admit he didn’t mind doing her this favor at all.
“What?” she yelled over the music
“Nothing!” he yelled back grinning as Ayame gave him a suspicious look before they went back to their out of control jumping.

Inuyasha looked at Kagome who was waving and yelling excitedly and couldn’t help but laugh. His whole time at Yakamoto High had been nothing but drama, stress, and pain. Everything from his past always seemed to jump up and bite him in the ass when he least expected it. Sometimes he found himself wishing he had gone through with killing himself when he had the chance, but one look at Sango or Kohaku and he knew he couldn’t. He had lost someone whom he thought he loved, been harassed by a brother who hated him, been thrown from foster home to foster home all his life, and been through hell and back. But right now he found himself unable to worry about anything. Glancing back at Kagome who caught his gaze and smiled at him, his body suddenly had a mind of it’s own as his hand moved in to grab her hand. Kagome was startled at first after she felt his hand enclose around hers but then gladly welcomed it as they continued to dance side by side.

Miroku couldn’t concentrate on dancing at all as he heard her voice. The familiarity of it was bothering him to no end.
“What’s wrong?” Yura asked into his ear.
“Nothing.” he responded over the music as he stared at the girl singing her song.
Yura sighed as she watched him stare at Sango, she knew he liked her but it wasn’t really a concern to her. Miroku continued to stare admiring everything about Sango as the crowd around him madly jumped to the music. He sighed knowing she was out of reach until finally something clicked in his mind about why her singing sound so familiar. Yura looked at the surprised _expression that crossed his face and became confused at why he morphed from being in awe to a look of shock so fast.
‘ Holy Shit!’ He thought to himself ‘ Holy shit....”

After Sango finished the last verse the crowd clapped wildly as she handed the mic back to the DJ.
“Now that was a performance to remember!” he screamed to the pumped up crowd “ Let’s really show some love to the beautiful Miss Sango!”
The crowd cheered and screamed even louder and even Sango had to take a bow despite herself. Now, on her ultimate high she walked through crowd to find Bankotsu getting compliments left and right. When she finally reached him he pulled her into a hug and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
“That was hella kickass.” he whispered
“That was incredible!” shrieked Kanna and Souten simultaneously.
Kohaku grinned from behind his camera as Ayame launched herself at Sango shrieking with excitement and normally Sango not being one for people throwing themselves at her, she decided to let it slide. Koga walked up giving her a pat on the back and just as she was really enjoying all the excitement Inuyasha and Kagome ran over holding hands. Almost instantly her mood darkened as she stared at the couple.
‘ That bitch.’ She inwardly growled as she prepared herself to have a word with Inuyasha.
But just as she was going to say something a hand yanked her away from her friends, and just as she was about to pull away and let whoever it was and let him have it she stopped herself to see Miroku staring back at her.
“Miroku?”
“You were the singer!” he said
“Huh?” she asked not sure what he was talking about.
“‘Roku!” she suddenly heard Yura yell as she ran up behind him. “Stop running off!”
“It was you!” he screamed again panting heavily.
“What the hell is he talking about?” she asked Yura hoping she could make some sense out of what he was saying.
“I don’t know.” she stated just as Miroku pulled himself together.
“You are the singer in No way out!” he yelled “Why didn’t you tell me that was your band? I haven’t given you back the CD yet because it was really becoming a favorite band of mine and to think the lead singer is one of my friends.”
Sango almost wanted to laugh, but refrained because she probably should have mentioned it when she gave him the CD. She then suddenly glanced at Yura who was holding his arm almost protectively as she remembered why Yura was with him in the first place.
‘ It’s not going to work.’ She laughed inwardly ‘ I don’t get jealous especially not over some pimped out pretty boy.’
But suddenly she found herself biting back a nasty remark about Yura being slut as she continued to hold onto him and just as she thought she couldn't hold back the insult any longer Yura eyes widened causing Sango's insult to stay stuck in her head.
“Is that true?” Yura suddenly asked quite surprised as well.
“Guilty.” she responded almost instantly as Yura squealed.
“Oh my god!” she screamed “‘Roku plays that CD all the time and even I’ve become a fan! You guys should totally play at our prom!”
“What’s going on?” Inuyasha asked walking up behind her.
“Yura wants us to play at the prom.”
“You mean get ‘No way Out’ back together?”
“You guys have a band?” Kagome asked still holding his hand.
“Yes and Yes.” Sango responded
“That’s so cool.” Kagome said
“Remember that CD Miroku let us listen to that one time?” Ayame asked Kagome as she nodded “ That was them.”
“No way!” Kagome shrieked “You guys definitely have to play at the prom at the end of the year!”
Suddenly, Ayame, Kagome, and Yura were buzzing with ideas about the prom and even Koga and Miroku joined in making small suggestions. As they all began to chatter away Sango turned to Inuyasha.
“So, guess that means we need to find another guitar player, a drummer, and a keyboarder.”
“Guess we’ll have to hold auditions.” he said with a sigh.
“The only reason we stopped with the band thing was because we had to move...again.”
“I guess it’ll be fun to get it back into swing.”
“Yeah,” Sango said with a smile. “ I guess.”
A little later on in the night Kanna found her sister and she drove Kohaku and Souten home, once they were gone everything pretty much kept the same. There was more dancing and Sango even went up again for an encore. Eventually it was getting so late that even the DJ was beginning to pack up so they decided to call it a night. As they walked out into the parking lot the DJ stopped Sango and Bankotsu. He was a tall guy with long back hair that was pulled into a thick braid, tan skin, and storm gray eyes.
“Nice job tonight! “ he said to her.
“Thanks, I had fun.”
“Cool Cool,” he said “Uh, hey look I hate to be annoying an all but who drove Souten home?”
Sango exchanged looks with Bankotsu before asking “And you know her how?”
“Oh my bad!” he laughed “My name is Hiten by the way and Souten is my sister.”
“Oh,” she said “ She was driven home earlier by Kanna’s older sister. Kagura, I think her name was.”
“Word?” he said “Cool. Thanks! I hope to see ya’ll around here again.”
“Oh, we’ll be back.” Bankotsu piped up.
“Aight, word word.” he said with a smile, “Later!”
After Hiten sprinted off to his car she saw Inuyasha walking Kagome to her car. Thinking this was a good time to intervene she told Bankotsu to hang on a second before marching off after them.
The long night was over and Inuyasha was exhausted, he couldn’t even remember the last time he had that much care free fun. As he they got to Kagome’s car she turned around and smiled.
“Thanks for tonight.” she said “I had a blast.”
“Me too.” then he added before he could stop himself “We should go out again sometime.”
“Really?” she asked surprised “To be honest I was surprised you agreed to go out with me at all after the horrible impression I was sure I made on you.”
“I was surprised I agreed too actually.” he said honestly leaning on the car next to her. “But I’m glad I did. It was fun, and a lot more fun than I thought. The real you is way cooler than the wind-up doll you.”
Kagome smiled remembering when she talked to him about that topic as he smiled back at her. Then before he realized what he was doing he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek letting his lips linger on her skin a little longer than a quick peck as Kagome closed her eyes and envisioned those lips over her mouth. When he pulled his lips away she opened her eyes and couldn’t help but grin wider.
“I’ll call you.” he said putting his hands in his pockets and turning to walk away.
“Okay,” she whispered as she watched his back.
‘ What the hell was that?’ He thought to himself as he walked away. ‘ I’m not going to do this to myself again.’
Snapping out of his thoughts he shook his head trying not to think about Kikyo. Whenever he’s be with any other girl he’d think about her, and it was really beginning to take it’s toll on him. Pushing that thought from his head he continued to walk to his car telling himself that he was just having some fun and there was nothing to worry about.
‘ Besides, it’s just Kagome.’ He kept thinking ‘ I don’t have anything worry about with her. She’s just fun to hang with. A few dates won’t make a difference.’
But even though he kept telling himself that something was still plaguing him at the back of his mind but he didn’t give it a second thought. He was just going to have fun and just roll with whatever. He needed a break from everything and he figured by just going out on a few dates and having a good time could do that and that was all.
Kagome watched his back until he got into his car, she couldn’t help but feel incredibly happy as she turned to open her car door. But just as she got the keys into the lock she felt someone pull her and slam her into the wall on the side of the building, just as she was about to scream for her life she saw Sango staring at her.
“Sango what -”
She was suddenly cut off as Sango placed her hand over her mouth and dragged her down further so they both couldn’t be seen. Once Sango was satisfied she dropped her hand from her mouth and just as Kagome was about to yell at her, Sango pushed her into the wall again.
“Sango, what is wrong with you!” she yelled as Sango walked over until they were only about a foot a part.
“You do anything to hurt Inuyasha and I’ll fucking rip your pretty little face off! We clear Princess?”
“What?” she asked truly shocked that this was what she was being so moody about.
“You heard me.” she said
“But we’ve only been on one date -”
“Sometimes that’s all it takes,” she said cutting her off, “One date, one chance, one kiss, and anything could happen. I’m just making sure we understand each other now just in case.”
“I don’t think -”
“That’s right.” she said louder “You don’t think. Inuyasha has been through hell and back and he doesn’t need anymore heartache so if you ever hurt him, break his heart, or whatever I’ll fucking break your face! And it’ll be so fast you won’t even see it coming. Got it?”
Kagome wasn’t too keen on being bossed around but in truth Sango scared her and the last thing she wanted to do was get her angry.
“Crystal.” she said trying to sink into the wall she was up against.
“Good.” she said as she disappeared around the corner leaving Kagome to feel rattled.
After leaning back on the wall for a few minutes her mind reeling from what Sango had said, she suddenly jolted from the wall to her car and drove off. Kagome wasn’t a brave person by nature and all she needed right then for some reason was some time to think.
After saying goodnight to Bankotsu she slid into the passenger seat and shut the door looking over at Inuyasha who had an annoyed look on his face.
“What?” she asked him trying to sound irritated
“What took you so long?”
“Oh you know,” she with a grin “The fans couldn’t get enough of me.”
“Right.” he said rolling his eyes as he started the engine and began to pull out of the lot.
“So, you had a good time?” Sango asked
“Yeah,” he said with a small smile. “I did.”
“Good,” she said slumping down in her seat and giving a weird grin. “Me too.”
“What’s with the weird grin?” he asked glancing over at her as he made a turn.
“Oh nothing,” she said “Just glad everything turned out even better than I planned it.”
Inuyasha glanced over at her once again getting a little suspicious but then just let it slide. Sango was always doing something so he figured whatever she did or was hiding he’d find out sooner or later and as he took the next turn he let out a huge sigh of relief that tonight went okay and hoped it night be a sign for things to come.

Sango suggested he just invite Kagome along with the party weekend Sango had planned for them and since he didn’t have any other ideas when Kagome called him, he invited her along and she was more than happy to come. Now, he was standing in front of his bathroom mirror looking himself over and wondering why he agreed out with her in the first place. His hair was brushed and tied back into a low pony tail like usual and he was wearing a black shirt and comfortable fitting blue jeans. Sighing, he scratched the back of his neck just as Sango barged in and he rolled his eyes not really surprised to see her.
“Ready yet?” she asked
“Yeah,” he answered “Just trying to get myself psyched up.”
“You look nice.”
“ Thanks,” he responded looking at Sango “ And you look like you.”
Sango laughed as she spun around sporting her tight fitting blue jeans, with her black boots zipped up over her pants, and her lacy looking dark purple spaghetti strap top with a tie in the front. The back of her hair was tied up in a messy bun letting a few strands fall on both sides of her face. Her eyes were brushed with dark purple eyeshadow, and dark purple and black eyeliner that made it’s way up to the corner of her eyes branching off into interesting designs. It was topped of with matching mascara and light ice purple lipstick.
“ I know.”
“ Hey, what about Ayame?,” he asked “ she’ll be the only one without a date.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that.” she said “I got her one.”
“Who?” he asked suspiciously
“You’ll see .” she said with a laugh as she ran out his room.
Following Sango, he walked out of his room and down the hallway, just as he reached the stairs he heard Sango shouting something at Kohaku. As he got closer he saw Souten and Kanna holding the camera equipment and he knew what was up.
“ Kohaku!” she screamed “ Go harass someone else!”
“ Come on Sang!” Kohaku pleaded “ This will be good for my documentary.”
“ Just let him come.” Inuyasha said causing everyone to look at him “ He has to go home before us anyway.”
“Fine whatever.” She said stomping down the stairs, “let’s go.”
Just as they opened the door they were greeted with a flash, after the spots died from their eyes they blinked to see Minako standing in front of them holding a camera.
“Minako!” Sango yelled
“Sorry,” she said with a laugh. “I knew you all wouldn’t let me take pictures so I decided to catch you off guard.”
After snapping another photo she ran past them into the house and Kohaku started to laugh.
“That will definitely make good footage.” He said as Sango rolled her eyes and continued to walk out to the car.
Upon reaching their destination which was a combination restaurant with a club which was called The Lock. They parked and jumped out instantly spotting Ayame standing out front.
“Ayame!” Sango called out as the reached her.
“Sango!” she yelled back “You look great!”
“You too.” she responded looking at Ayame. “Anybody else here yet?”
“I don’t think so.”
Suddenly, Sango felt hands wrap around her waist as she spun around looking straight at her date.
“So, you showed?” she asked flirtatiously
“How could I not?” Bankotsu asked kissing her cheek.
Kohaku was standing slightly behind them his camera rolling while Inuyasha looked around for Kagome. Just as he was about walk around a bit he felt two hands cover his eyes.
“Guess who?” she giggled
“Kagome.” he stated
“Oh, you’re no fun.” she said taking her hands down as Inuyasha spun around as his mouth dropped open.
Her hair hung around her shoulders in an almost messy way, while a dark blue strapless top hugged her body in an almost perfect way. She had on a tight short black skirt with slits on both sides and black opened toed shoes. Her make up graced her face in such a way where it brought out the intensity of her eyes as her lids look like they were kissed with dark blue star dust.
“Wow,” he said “You look even better than the first day you asked me how you looked.”
“Thanks.” she responded as she felt her face get hot.
Ayame then ran over to Kagome squealing in excitement as they all made their way into The Lock. After they were seated Kohaku set up his camera in front of the table to get all of what was going on.
“Hey Sango,” Ayame teased “Where’s my date you promised me?”
“Behind you.” she responded with a sly grin.
“Oh very funny.”
Kagome and Inuyasha blinked in shock at the man standing behind Ayame. Kohaku looked confused while Souten and Kanna exchanged glances. Sango continued to grin while Bankotsu had his arm around her shoulder not sure what the look on everyone’s faces was about.
“Sorry, I’m late.” said the voice as Ayame instantly recognized it.
Spinning around in her chair the look on her face instantly reflected that of Kagome and Inuyasha’s. She then looked back at Sango who was trying hard not to laugh.
“Koga?” she asked now confused “You’re my date?”
“Yep.”he answered sitting down in the open chair next to her “Disappointed?”
“No! “ she squealed “ Just surprised is all.”
“I figured you would be.”
After Koga took his seat Inuyasha leaned over and whispered to Sango.
“I thought you two were enemies.”
“Eh,” she whispered back “Like, I said all of a sudden the football team is starting to kiss my ass. Might as well roll with it.”
Inuyasha snickered as Sango got back to her date, as the night went on everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Once they finished eating Ayame almost instantly pulled Koga onto the dance floor and Koga was more than happy to go with her.
“Guess my match up was match point.”
“Guess so.” Kagome giggled as Kohaku and his crew disappeared with his camera equipment.
“Come on guys.” Sango said “No use sitting around.”
After Sango pulled Bankotsu out on onto the dance floor, Inuyasha and Kagome followed close behind. At first it was little awkward but then they both finally got into the music and Kagome really began to bust out some of her best moves.
“Hey! “ Inuyasha yelled over the music “You really are good.”
“Thanks.” she said back as Inuyasha grabbed her hand and she spun into him. “I try my best.”
“Ayame might be trying to show you up though.” He said pointing to Ayame who was really getting into the vibe.
Totally going on sheer impulse she pulled away from Inuyasha and grabbed Ayame whispering something in her ear. Ayame then began to make everyone make some room for them on the dance floor as Inuyasha went to stand by Koga. The music pumped through the speakers as Kagome could feel the rush, she knew dancing was what she loved to do and she knew her and Ayame were going to tear the place up. Kagome started to swivel her hips to the music as Ayame copied the motion. They had worked on a special routine that was just for the two of them, the dance was totally out of character for Kagome but that was why she loved it and as she spun, dropped to the floor and picked herself up again she could feel all the eyes on the two of them and she loved it.
“Rock on Princess!” she heard Sango scream as Ayame gave her a nod and they started into their next moves.
She began to shake her hips in an almost seductive way causing everyone to turn stare at them both. Then the faces began to disappear and all she did was concentrate on doing what she loved. She was in such a state of bliss that when they were finished she grabbed Inuyasha’s hand and pulled him close to her grinding her body into his. Not expecting that at all Inuyasha looked startled before he pulled her closer more than happy to dance with her.
“Let’s give it up for the lovely ladies!” The DJ said over the mic after their performance was over.
“Damn,” Inuyasha said in her ear “I didn’t expect that from you.”
“Expect the unexpected from me Inuyasha.” She said as she threw her arms around his neck.
Inuyasha couldn’t help but smile at the girl as they continued to dance. At first he wasn’t too crazy about going out with Kagome but everything seemed to be going okay and she surprised him by being fun to hang out with and as long as it didn’t turn into anything serious he figured it would be okay to enjoy himself. After the decade he had he figured he deserved that much.
Sango looked over at the couple and her face frowned in concern for her friend.
“Something wrong?” Bankotsu asked her as she directed her attention back to him.
“No, not at all.” she said to him as she thought to herself. ‘ I’ll just talk to him later.’
Just as she finished her thought the DJ picked up his mic again and his voice boomed across the speakers.
“Hey Hey! This is DJ Hiten cranking some tunes for you.” he said his voice pumping through the speakers. “ Now, we have an open mic night. So if you got musical talent, we’ll set you up and get you going. Anyone want to give it a go?”
The DJ scanned the crowd looking for raised hands, just as he was about to walk into the crowd and get someone like he always did he saw a hand raised in the back.
“Yeah, kid in the back.”
“My sister can sing!” Kohaku yelled “ Sango can do it!”
“Are you insane?” Sango marched over and yelled at him with Bankotsu trailing behind her.
“You sing Sango?” Bankotsu asked mildly surprised
“Yeah she does.”
“Well girl what do you say?” The DJ asked as the crowd stared at her
Pausing for a moment she looked around at the faces staring at her, and the voices coaxing her to sing. Suddenly, feeling defeated she looked up at the DJ and shook her head.
“Eh, what the hell?” she said marching over to the DJ booth.
“Yeah!” the DJ yelled “ Let’s give it up for the lady!”
The dance floor broke out into applause as Sango walked up to the DJ booth. Just as she reached the booth the DJ stared at the spot where Kohaku and his crew was in confusion then before giving her the mic he bellowed into it.
“ Yo Souten is that you?”
Kohaku and Kanna looked at Souten as her face turned a beat red. “Yeah it’s me!” she shouted back.
“Word? I’m just making sure, you look nice.”
“Hiten!” she screamed
“Sorry.” he said grinning as he helped Sango pick a song.
“How do you know him?” Kanna asked
“He’s my brother.” she said her face getting even redder.
Kagome was now standing next to Inuyasha with her mouth agape as he snickered behind his hand.
“She sings?” Kagome asked mildly shocked
“Always.” he said with a smile. “Since I can remember.”
Just as the music began to play Kagome felt a tap on her shoulder. Spinning around she saw the smiling face of her friend. Shrieking in delight she gave him a quick hug.
“Miroku!” she shrieked “This is so awesome! Everyone is out tonight!”
“You look great Kagome!” He said. “Who are you here with?”
“Ummm..” she began “ You’ll find this hard to believe but I’m actually here with -”
“Miroku,” Inuyasha said finally noticing who Kagome was speaking to. “What’s up?”
Miroku looked from Kagome to Inuyasha then it dawned on him and needless to say he was more than a little surprised. He had heard a rumor earlier in the week but he had dismissed it as just a rumor.
‘ Hojo’s going to be pissed.’ He thought to himself as his look of shock turned to a grin.
“Well Well,” he started “Nice to see you to love birds out of the nest.”
“Oh you’re regular comedian.” Kagome said with a light blush.

Suddenly, as the crowd around the three began to move themselves to the music Miroku felt like he’d heard the singer before. Looking up to the DJ booth he saw Sango standing in front of it with the mic in her hands bellowing her heart out.
“Wow!” Kagome yelled “She’s really good!”
“That voice.” Miroku whispered to himself as Kagome and Inuyasha worked through the crowd for a better view.

Miroku stared trying to figure out why her singing sounded so familiar. Not really paying attention he almost jumped when his date grabbed his hand pulling him into the now forming crowd around the DJ booth.

Sango stood in front of the DJ booth as the crowd formed around her. She loved to sing and she loved to write music. It was what she really loved to do, and here she was singing again in front of a crowd feeling their energy. She scanned the crowd and spotted Bankotsu jumping up and down in the back near Kohaku and just when she was really going to get into it she saw Miroku pressed up against that same girl she saw with him all week.

Ayame and Koga were standing side by side jumping up and down to the fast paced beat. He looked over at Ayame and couldn’t help but smile, at first when Sango asked him the favor he thought she hit her head or something. But then he thought about the team togetherness bit Hojo was beginning to drive at after Kagome broke up with him in order to get information out of Sango and figured he might as well. Ayame was pretty, and had a very interesting personality. Ayame caught him looking at her and smiled as they both stopped jumping. Personally, Koga didn’t like Sango too much at all but he had to admit he didn’t mind doing her this favor at all.
“What?” she yelled over the music
“Nothing!” he yelled back grinning as Ayame gave him a suspicious look before they went back to their out of control jumping.

Inuyasha looked at Kagome who was waving and yelling excitedly and couldn’t help but laugh. His whole time at Yakamoto High had been nothing but drama, stress, and pain. Everything from his past always seemed to jump up and bite him in the ass when he least expected it. Sometimes he found himself wishing he had gone through with killing himself when he had the chance, but one look at Sango or Kohaku and he knew he couldn’t. He had lost someone whom he thought he loved, been harassed by a brother who hated him, been thrown from foster home to foster home all his life, and been through hell and back. But right now he found himself unable to worry about anything. Glancing back at Kagome who caught his gaze and smiled at him, his body suddenly had a mind of it’s own as his hand moved in to grab her hand. Kagome was startled at first after she felt his hand enclose around hers but then gladly welcomed it as they continued to dance side by side.

Miroku couldn’t concentrate on dancing at all as he heard her voice. The familiarity of it was bothering him to no end.
“What’s wrong?” Yura asked into his ear.
“Nothing.” he responded over the music as he stared at the girl singing her song.
Yura sighed as she watched him stare at Sango, she knew he liked her but it wasn’t really a concern to her. Miroku continued to stare admiring everything about Sango as the crowd around him madly jumped to the music. He sighed knowing she was out of reach until finally something clicked in his mind about why her singing sound so familiar. Yura looked at the surprised _expression that crossed his face and became confused at why he morphed from being in awe to a look of shock so fast.
‘ Holy Shit!’ He thought to himself ‘ Holy shit....”

After Sango finished the last verse the crowd clapped wildly as she handed the mic back to the DJ.
“Now that was a performance to remember!” he screamed to the pumped up crowd “ Let’s really show some love to the beautiful Miss Sango!”
The crowd cheered and screamed even louder and even Sango had to take a bow despite herself. Now, on her ultimate high she walked through crowd to find Bankotsu getting compliments left and right. When she finally reached him he pulled her into a hug and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
“That was hella kickass.” he whispered
“That was incredible!” shrieked Kanna and Souten simultaneously.
Kohaku grinned from behind his camera as Ayame launched herself at Sango shrieking with excitement and normally Sango not being one for people throwing themselves at her, she decided to let it slide. Koga walked up giving her a pat on the back and just as she was really enjoying all the excitement Inuyasha and Kagome ran over holding hands. Almost instantly her mood darkened as she stared at the couple.
‘ That bitch.’ She inwardly growled as she prepared herself to have a word with Inuyasha.
But just as she was going to say something a hand yanked her away from her friends, and just as she was about to pull away and let whoever it was and let him have it she stopped herself to see Miroku staring back at her.
“Miroku?”
“You were the singer!” he said
“Huh?” she asked not sure what he was talking about.
“‘Roku!” she suddenly heard Yura yell as she ran up behind him. “Stop running off!”
“It was you!” he screamed again panting heavily.
“What the hell is he talking about?” she asked Yura hoping she could make some sense out of what he was saying.
“I don’t know.” she stated just as Miroku pulled himself together.
“You are the singer in No way out!” he yelled “Why didn’t you tell me that was your band? I haven’t given you back the CD yet because it was really becoming a favorite band of mine and to think the lead singer is one of my friends.”
Sango almost wanted to laugh, but refrained because she probably should have mentioned it when she gave him the CD. She then suddenly glanced at Yura who was holding his arm almost protectively as she remembered why Yura was with him in the first place.
‘ It’s not going to work.’ She laughed inwardly ‘ I don’t get jealous especially not over some pimped out pretty boy.’
But suddenly she found herself biting back a nasty remark about Yura being slut as she continued to hold onto him and just as she thought she couldn't hold back the insult any longer Yura eyes widened causing Sango's insult to stay stuck in her head.
“Is that true?” Yura suddenly asked quite surprised as well.
“Guilty.” she responded almost instantly as Yura squealed.
“Oh my god!” she screamed “‘Roku plays that CD all the time and even I’ve become a fan! You guys should totally play at our prom!”
“What’s going on?” Inuyasha asked walking up behind her.
“Yura wants us to play at the prom.”
“You mean get ‘No way Out’ back together?”
“You guys have a band?” Kagome asked still holding his hand.
“Yes and Yes.” Sango responded
“That’s so cool.” Kagome said
“Remember that CD Miroku let us listen to that one time?” Ayame asked Kagome as she nodded “ That was them.”
“No way!” Kagome shrieked “You guys definitely have to play at the prom at the end of the year!”
Suddenly, Ayame, Kagome, and Yura were buzzing with ideas about the prom and even Koga and Miroku joined in making small suggestions. As they all began to chatter away Sango turned to Inuyasha.
“So, guess that means we need to find another guitar player, a drummer, and a keyboarder.”
“Guess we’ll have to hold auditions.” he said with a sigh.
“The only reason we stopped with the band thing was because we had to move...again.”
“I guess it’ll be fun to get it back into swing.”
“Yeah,” Sango said with a smile. “ I guess.”
A little later on in the night Kanna found her sister and she drove Kohaku and Souten home, once they were gone everything pretty much kept the same. There was more dancing and Sango even went up again for an encore. Eventually it was getting so late that even the DJ was beginning to pack up so they decided to call it a night. As they walked out into the parking lot the DJ stopped Sango and Bankotsu. He was a tall guy with long back hair that was pulled into a thick braid, tan skin, and storm gray eyes.
“Nice job tonight! “ he said to her.
“Thanks, I had fun.”
“Cool Cool,” he said “Uh, hey look I hate to be annoying an all but who drove Souten home?”
Sango exchanged looks with Bankotsu before asking “And you know her how?”
“Oh my bad!” he laughed “My name is Hiten by the way and Souten is my sister.”
“Oh,” she said “ She was driven home earlier by Kanna’s older sister. Kagura, I think her name was.”
“Word?” he said “Cool. Thanks! I hope to see ya’ll around here again.”
“Oh, we’ll be back.” Bankotsu piped up.
“Aight, word word.” he said with a smile, “Later!”
After Hiten sprinted off to his car she saw Inuyasha walking Kagome to her car. Thinking this was a good time to intervene she told Bankotsu to hang on a second before marching off after them.
The long night was over and Inuyasha was exhausted, he couldn’t even remember the last time he had that much care free fun. As he they got to Kagome’s car she turned around and smiled.
“Thanks for tonight.” she said “I had a blast.”
“Me too.” then he added before he could stop himself “We should go out again sometime.”
“Really?” she asked surprised “To be honest I was surprised you agreed to go out with me at all after the horrible impression I was sure I made on you.”
“I was surprised I agreed too actually.” he said honestly leaning on the car next to her. “But I’m glad I did. It was fun, and a lot more fun than I thought. The real you is way cooler than the wind-up doll you.”
Kagome smiled remembering when she talked to him about that topic as he smiled back at her. Then before he realized what he was doing he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek letting his lips linger on her skin a little longer than a quick peck as Kagome closed her eyes and envisioned those lips over her mouth. When he pulled his lips away she opened her eyes and couldn’t help but grin wider.
“I’ll call you.” he said putting his hands in his pockets and turning to walk away.
“Okay,” she whispered as she watched his back.
‘ What the hell was that?’ He thought to himself as he walked away. ‘ I’m not going to do this to myself again.’
Snapping out of his thoughts he shook his head trying not to think about Kikyo. Whenever he’s be with any other girl he’d think about her, and it was really beginning to take it’s toll on him. Pushing that thought from his head he continued to walk to his car telling himself that he was just having some fun and there was nothing to worry about.
‘ Besides, it’s just Kagome.’ He kept thinking ‘ I don’t have anything worry about with her. She’s just fun to hang with. A few dates won’t make a difference.’
But even though he kept telling himself that something was still plaguing him at the back of his mind but he didn’t give it a second thought. He was just going to have fun and just roll with whatever. He needed a break from everything and he figured by just going out on a few dates and having a good time could do that and that was all.
Kagome watched his back until he got into his car, she couldn’t help but feel incredibly happy as she turned to open her car door. But just as she got the keys into the lock she felt someone pull her and slam her into the wall on the side of the building, just as she was about to scream for her life she saw Sango staring at her.
“Sango what -”
She was suddenly cut off as Sango placed her hand over her mouth and dragged her down further so they both couldn’t be seen. Once Sango was satisfied she dropped her hand from her mouth and just as Kagome was about to yell at her, Sango pushed her into the wall again.
“Sango, what is wrong with you!” she yelled as Sango walked over until they were only about a foot a part.
“You do anything to hurt Inuyasha and I’ll fucking rip your pretty little face off! We clear Princess?”
“What?” she asked truly shocked that this was what she was being so moody about.
“You heard me.” she said
“But we’ve only been on one date -”
“Sometimes that’s all it takes,” she said cutting her off, “One date, one chance, one kiss, and anything could happen. I’m just making sure we understand each other now just in case.”
“I don’t think -”
“That’s right.” she said louder “You don’t think. Inuyasha has been through hell and back and he doesn’t need anymore heartache so if you ever hurt him, break his heart, or whatever I’ll fucking break your face! And it’ll be so fast you won’t even see it coming. Got it?”
Kagome wasn’t too keen on being bossed around but in truth Sango scared her and the last thing she wanted to do was get her angry.
“Crystal.” she said trying to sink into the wall she was up against.
“Good.” she said as she disappeared around the corner leaving Kagome to feel rattled.
After leaning back on the wall for a few minutes her mind reeling from what Sango had said, she suddenly jolted from the wall to her car and drove off. Kagome wasn’t a brave person by nature and all she needed right then for some reason was some time to think.
After saying goodnight to Bankotsu she slid into the passenger seat and shut the door looking over at Inuyasha who had an annoyed look on his face.
“What?” she asked him trying to sound irritated
“What took you so long?”
“Oh you know,” she with a grin “The fans couldn’t get enough of me.”
“Right.” he said rolling his eyes as he started the engine and began to pull out of the lot.
“So, you had a good time?” Sango asked
“Yeah,” he said with a small smile. “I did.”
“Good,” she said slumping down in her seat and giving a weird grin. “Me too.”
“What’s with the weird grin?” he asked glancing over at her as he made a turn.
“Oh nothing,” she said “Just glad everything turned out even better than I planned it.”
Inuyasha glanced over at her once again getting a little suspicious but then just let it slide. Sango was always doing something so he figured whatever she did or was hiding he’d find out sooner or later and as he took the next turn he let out a huge sigh of relief that tonight went okay and hoped it night be a sign for things to come.
