[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
It was after school and Sango sat back on the bleachers watching as the dance team began to set up. She saw Kohaku setting up his camera along with Souten and Kanna because apparently this was his week to interview Kagome about why the sudden motivation to start a dance team. Sango had to smile at her little brother because she knew it was actually a good idea. Just as it looked like they were going to begin Ayame waved at her and she waved back shaking her head.
“That chick is weird.”
“To an extent.”
Sango looked up to see a pair of blue eyes standing over her, rolling her eyes she motioning for him to sit down. Miroku took a seat next to her, waiting for the silence to be broken.
“Where’s Yura?”
“Around.” he said staring out at the field. “They’re pretty good huh?”
“Yeah, actually,” she responded “Hey, isn’t that Kagura?”
Miroku looked down at the field and observed a girl with short black hair in a pony tail and even though it was ways away he knew it was her.
“Yeah.”
“Well I’ll be damned,” she said with a whistle “No wonder Kanna’s always at these practices.”
“So, you still seeing what’s his name?”
“Yes, I am still seeing Bankotsu.” Sango responded not liking where the conversation was going.
Miroku sighed, it had been quite a while since he had even asked her out but he still hadn’t gotten over her. He had never felt the way towards any other girl as he did for Sango and every passing moment where he didn’t do something about it was killing him. Trying to make her jealous was obviously not working and he needed to do something else.
“You know Sango I never understood why you never even gave me a chance,” he said “I know, that you know I still like you so what gives?”
“Miroku, I’m seeing someone,” she began “And so are you.”
“So, fucking what!” he yelled standing over her. “I know what you think about me and that’s pretty damn shallow!”
“Who the fuck are you calling shallow?” she yelled back standing up to face him.
“Not going out with someone just because you think they’re a peppy or whatever is no different than going out with someone just because they are!”
“Fuck you!”she yelled back in his face “I know you’re fucking type! You go from girl to girl because you fucking got it like that! And don’t deny it, I see you always with a different girl while you are currently dating Yura!”
“I’m not serious about her!”
“And you’re serious about me?”
“Yes!”
Suddenly, there was a brief moment of silence as Sango stared at Miroku with a look of shock and disbelief. Miroku didn’t regret that the word passed from his lips, he wanted Sango to know that he really liked her if Sango believed it or not.
“You are so full of shit.” she said
“Why am I full of shit?”
“Because I’m just a challenge to you!” she yelled “ I don’t fall at your fucking feet so you’re just going to chase me until you get me and once you do you’ll get bored and drop me for some other girl!”
“Sango,” he said hurt by her words “That’s not true.”
“Isn’t it?” she asked “ You really are a nice guy and all Miroku, and this is why we are friends.”
“It’s different with you Sango!” he yelled “I swear it! Why won’t you just give me a chance? What the hell are you so afraid of?”
Sango's eyes narrowed into slits as she felt instant rage take over her. For some reason all she wanted was for him to get away from her before she did something that might put him in the hospital.
“I suggest you get the hell away from me before I punch your fucking face in.”
“Sango, come on,” he began “Don’t be like that.”
“I said,” she said very calmly before getting ready to explode “GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME NOW!!!”
Miroku frowned as he turned to walk down the bleachers. He couldn’t believe how bad he messed things up.
“Sorry,” he whispered before starting down the steps. “I really am.”
As Miroku walked down the bleachers and out of sight she couldn’t help but feel a little guilty. Miroku was a really nice and deep down she knew she liked him too but maybe what he said cut deeper than she wanted to admit and that’s why she freaked out at him.
“Am I afraid?” she whispered into the wind.
“Afraid of what?”
Sango looked behind her to see Inuyasha and let out a huge sigh. She couldn’t believe everything that was going on.
‘This so isn’t my day,’ she thought as she turned and smiled at Inuyasha.
“What’s with the smile?”
“Nothing,” she said as she sat back down “What’s up?”
“What was all the yelling about?”
“Oh, you heard that?”
“Yeah.” he said taking a seat next to her.
“Nothing really,” she said staring as the dance team finished up “Miroku and I just got into a little argument is all.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah, it was nothing huge,” she said then stood up. “Come on, auditions are starting soon.”
Inuyasha stood back up and followed Sango as she walked down to see Ayame.
“Sango!” she squealed “What did you think?”
“Nice, I was pleasantly surprised.”
“Good,” she said with a smile, “Hey, Kagome are you coming to the auditions?”
Kagome looked up then walked over to the trio with a tired smile on her face.
“Sure.”
“What’s with you Princess?” Sango observed “You look tired?”
“I’m fine.”
Sango shrugged as she turned on her heel and walked towards the auditorium where the auditions where being held. Inuyasha kept glancing over at Kagome with a concerned look on his face while Ayame kept trying to engage Inuyasha in a conversation as if trying to take his attention off Kagome. When they finally got to the auditorium they pushed open the doors and got everything set up. Ayame went to wait with the others who were trying out while Kagome, Inuyasha, and Sango sat in the middle row. Kagome agreed to help with the judging and the auditions were under way.
“Alright,” Sango said going over the list. “Ten people trying out. Not bad.”
“Who’s first?” Inuyasha asked
“Hayashi, Kanye!” Sango yelled out as a nerdy looking boy with glasses and pocket protector tripped out onto the stage holding a keyboard.
Sango rolled her eyes as the kid struggled to set up the keyboard then turned to Inuyasha and Kagome and whispered.
“Get comfortable, this is going to be a long day.”
After the fifth person auditioned it was Ayame’s turn and as soon as she started playing Sango sat up in her seat. All the rest of the auditions made the three want to rip their ears off, but Ayame was a pretty good drummer. Sango instantly put a check next to her name then turned to her to other judges for conformation. Once her audition was over Inuyasha was actually floored.
“Wow, she is really good.” Inuyasha said
“No shit.”
“Who’s next?” Kagome asked
Sango scanned the list and her mouth almost dropped open, but not before cracking up.
“What?” Inuyasha said before taking the list from her and starting to laugh as well.
Kagome who was obviously getting annoyed took the list from Inuyasha and proceeded to call out the name.
“Narita, Shippo!” she called out before turning to them and asking “ Isn’t that, that kid I helped give a make-over to?”
“Yep.” Sango said as they both stopped laughing to watch the audition.
“Couldn’t resist eh Shippo?” Sango yelled as he step up his keyboard on stage.
“I guess you could say that,” he said with a shy smile as he sat down behind his keyboard.
The moment he started playing they all fell silent, Sango had to check her ears because he was good. Good actually would have been an understatement and as soon as he finished his audition Sango couldn’t help but jump up from her seat and start clapping.
“Rock on!” she yelled. “That was great!”
“Thanks.” he said with a blush as he walked off the stage.
“I doubt anyone would be able to beat that.” Kagome said
“I know.”
The three sat painfully threw the last of the the auditions until they finally came to the last one.
“Haruki, Kakera!”
The minute the girl walked onto the stage Sango wasn’t sure what to make of her. But her playing was something to be marveled at and after she was finished Sango had pretty much made up her mind as well as Kagome and Inuyasha. After asking all the people who auditioned to come back out on stage they announced their picks.
“Alright!” Sango yelled “ Thanks to everyone for auditioning! When I call your name and instrument that means you made it!”
“On drums we have Nakamura, Ayame!” Sango yelled as Kagome prepared to call out the next name.
“On keyboard we have Narita, Shippo!”
“And on bass guitar we have Haruki, Kakera!” Inuyasha yelled
“Congrats, you guys!” Kagome said as the new band members descended the stage.
“I can’t believe you picked me!” Shippo said as the three judges where now standing in the aisle
“How did you even find out about it? You don’t go to this school.” Sango asked him.
“I saw your flyers at home and yeah...” he said a little embarrassed as Sango mussed his hair.
“Nice job kid!” Inuyasha said as Ayame squealed excitedly.
“Hey, you!” Sango said noticing the girl who was now their guitar player standing their silently.
“I have a name you know!”
“Right, Kakera,” she sand moving over to shake her hand. “Nice job, you were good.”
“Thanks, I try.”
Sango gave Kakera the once over, she seemed normal looking enough. She was wearing blue jeans, sneakers, and a black sweatshirt. She had long black hair with blonde highlights, with one eye a deep violet while the other one was green.
“Whoa, that’s sick!”
“What is?” Inuyasha asked
“Check out her eyes!”
Kakera rolled her eyes while she lifted her glasses to give them all a better look.
“That is cool!” Shippo said as she placed her glasses back on her face.
After chatting for a bit, Sango gave Kakera their address and practice schedule and just gave a schedule to Shippo and Ayame since Ayame already knew where they lived and Shippo lived in the same house.
They all made their way to their cars after congratulating Kakera once more with Ayame bouncing up and down the whole way.
“Mind if I catch a ride with you guys?” Shippo asked
“Sure.” Inuyasha and Sango said at the same time.
“Hey Sango?” Kagome asked just as Shippo got into the backseat of their car.
“Yeah?” she asked curious as to why she would approach her after avoiding her because of the incident.
“Mind if I stay at your house for a couple of days?”
Of all the things Kagome could've asked her, she sure didn't expect that and for once in her life Sango was actually speechless.
“What? why?”
“I ran away from home.” she admitted with a sad look on her face.
“Say what?” Sang asked shocked, “Why?”
“I promise I’ll tell you everything if you just let me stay.”
“You are aware that Inuyasha and I live in the same house?”
“I thought so, but then you both aren’t related so I figured you guys were just really good friends or something.” Kagome then paused as if to contemplate something “But if you aren’t related then why are you -”
“It’s complicated, Princess.”
“I’m staying with Ayame but it won’t be long until her grandpa finds out I’m there and I know I’ve never been to your house but could you make an exception?”
Sango leaned back on her car and thought about it, she would have to check with Inuyasha first of course but she just couldn’t bring herself to just say no to the girl. But with Minako and Jaylynn on their side she could probably help her more than she thought. But by having her stay with them she’ll inevitably find out about her and Inuyasha’s past
.
“Look, let me talk to Inuyasha and I’ll call you alright?”
“Okay,” she said before turning around and walking away “Thanks, Sango.”
Sango slid into the driver’s seat of the car as Inuyasha gave her a strange look, sighing as she turned on the engine and backed up the car only to find Inuyasha still giving her that same strange look.
“I’ll tell you when we get home,” she began as Shippo sat quietly in the back seat. “But you’re not going to believe it when I tell you.”
A/N: Hmmmm....I wonder...lol...I'll get the next one up as soon as I can...Peace out!
