Chapter 17: Enter Sesshoumaru

"Sesshoumaru?" Inuyasha was sitting on his bed in the room he shared with Miroku. He had been trying to get a hold on his stinkin' brother for hours, and hadn't gotten anywhere yet. He knew that Sango didn't care all that much about this whole thing, but he couldn't let Kagome down. Him and Sango knew that she thought this was the best idea ever, and he wasn't going to spoil things for her.......Not that he really cared, he just didn't like it when she was mad at him.

"What do you want Inuyasha?"

"Do you remember that favor that you owe me?" Inuyasha asked, his smirk evident in his tone.

"What is it that you need me to do, and how much pain is this going to cause me?"

"Not that much actually. You see I have this friend, and she has been having what you could say is a little boy troubles. I just thought she could use something to take it off of her mind."

"Take it off of her mind in what way exactly?" Sesshoumaru asked feeling the headache coming on.

"Ew no, nothing like that at all. You and Sango not only shouldn't, but just can't ever do anything like that......ever."

"So then what do you want me to do?"

"It's simple really. All I want you to do, is take her on a date. You know, act the gentlemen, be nice and charming....if you can act that well...."

"Inuyasha I don't have to act to do those things, unlike you."

"Right....so does that mean you'll do it?"

Sesshoumaru sighed. "Well, it doesn't look like I have that much of a choice now does it? Just as long as I don't have to made any physical contact, why the hell not."

"Great, meet us tonight at the café ok?"

"I'm taking her out to the café? That's all I have to do for this date?"

"Well that and go to a movie of her choice."

"Whatever, I'll see you tonight.....oh and Inuyasha, if she is completely grotesque, I am going to kill you."

"He said that? Great what if he thinks I am completely hideous?! I knew I shouldn't have agreed to this!" Sango yelled.

Kagome glared at Inuyasha and then quickly turned her attention to Sango. "Hun, who could ever think that you were ugly? I man would have to be blind to not think you are hot!"

Frankly, Kagome was pretty much right. Sango was around 5'8 in the wedge sandals she was wearing with short shorts and a green halter top. Her hair was just down, but it was long and beautiful. It was easy to see why Miroku was crazy about her.....

"So, are we ready for this?" Inuyasha asked getting up off the couch.

"Ready as I'm going to get," Sango said smiling faintly.

"You know," Miroku said talking for the first time in 30 minutes. "I must say that I rather object to being left here alone while the three of you go off and have fun."

"Should have thought of that before you were an ass," Inuyasha said walking out the door. Sango followed without even looking at him, and Kagome gave him a sympathetic smile before shutting the door behind her.

When the three of them got to the café, Sesshoumaru was already there saving them all a table. Sango looked nervous, and Sesshoumaru looked relived that Sango was not in fact ugly. Kagome came through the door last after Inuyasha. He lead them over to the table and Sesshoumaru stood up when they got closer.

"Sesshoumaru, this is San.....go....." Inuyasha couldn't help but notice that Sesshoumaru wasn't looking at Sango, or at him, he was looking directly at Kagome. It seemed that Kagome noticed this at well, a blush was tainting her checks under his gaze.

When Inuyasha came through the door, they only thing I could think about was getting this whole night over with. When I saw the girl that must have been Sango, I was happy to see that she was in fact cute. At least my eyes wouldn't suffer too for this night..... When the third person came through the door, I was not at all ready. I didn't know who she was, but I decided right then and there that I would find out.

She was downright gorgeous, and I couldn't help but to stare at her. She had long raven colored hair, and eyes that looked like the ocean after a storm. She had a sweet innocent face, and a smile that seemed to literally shine. I guessed that she was somewhere in the neighborhood of 5'6, which was the perfect height. She was wearing a yellow strapless dress that accentuated her curves perfectly, and plain black sandals. Somehow I knew that this women was not Sango, and for some other unknown reason, I didn't care in the slightest.

Inuyasha introduced the other women as Sango and I knew that I needed to look away and meet her, but for some reason I couldn't sever my gaze. She clearly discovered I was staring at her, because when I finally caught her eye she blushed and looked away.

Inuyasha cleared his throat, and I finally looked at him. He raised an eyebrow and said, "Sesshoumaru, it seems you would like to meet Kagome."

Kagome huh? A cute name that fit someone as beautiful as her.

She looked up, smiled, and put out her hand. "Nice to meet you."

"Trust me, the pleasure is all mine." I said smiling. I took her extended hand and kissed it, causing her to blush again.

Inuyasha rudely butted in and grabbed Kagomes hand, pulling her to his side.

"And this is your date, Sango."

Sango smiled and shook my hand while eyeing my knowingly. I chose to ignore that, and sat back down at the table across from Kagome. I guess that technically I was here on a date with Sango, but that was not going to stop me from getting to know Kagome better......

Once the girls finally went to bed, I went and sat down on the couch next to Miroku.

"So, how did it go?" He asked casually.

"Horrible! Sesshoumaru didn't show any interest in Sango, and spent almost the whole time talking to Kagome!"

"Really that's great!"

I glared at him and he seemed to understand that I didn't really think so.

"OK well maybe it's not so great for you, but that's great news for me! Did Sango show any interest in him?"

I sighed and put my head in my hands. "No, not at all. Kagome seemed to be interested in him though......What am I going to do?"

"Good laws I am hearing you right? Is Inuyasha in love with miss Kagome?"

"Feh.....no.....that's crazy..... I just don't want Kagome to be with Sesshoumaru is all."

"Because you like her."

"No I don't! I just know that Sesshoumaru can be a player a lot of the time! I don't want her to get hurt.......because she's my friend!" I added when he was giving me a smug look.

"Inuyasha, do I need to remind you that you started out this project with the intent to make Kikyo jealous by means of Kagome? And you are worried about your brother hurting her? Do you know what she would do if she found out you're just getting close to her so you can use her?"

"Well maybe things aren't like that anymore......I don't really care about Kikyo....."

"See!" Miroku yelled in triumph, "I told you that you like her!"

Now 100% annoyed I smacked Miroku on the back of the head. "Would you cut it out? I do not like her like that! I just don't like Kikyo anymore."

Right after Miroku said a quiet "right" under his breath the phone rang, saving him from another smack on the head. I got up to get it and was more then unhappy to hear Sesshoumarus voice on the other end.

"Hello is Kagome there?"

"What do you want Sesshoumaru?" I could feel myself becoming more and more pissed by the second.

"Just to talk to Kagome."

"She and Sango just went to bed."

"Well could you give her a message for me?"

"Depends on what the message is."

"I just wanted to tell her that I had fun tonight and ask her if she would like to go out again sometime."

"No."

"I bed your pardon?"

"Are you deaf? I said no." I said wanted to hang up right then.

"Oh I'm sorry Inuyasha, I didn't know that you and Kagome were dating."

After a long pause I knew I had to respond..... "We're not...."

"Yeah that's what I thought. Therefore you have no claim on her, and I can ask her out if I want to."

"Sesshoumaru I am warning you now, stay away from her."

"Or what little brother? She can date anybody she wants to."

"Of course she can, just not you. Your done here. You don't owe me anything, even though that was a lame date, just leaver her alone."

"You're right Inuyasha, I don't owe you anything. But I do owe it to myself to make sure that I date that hot little girl you've been keeping all to yourself. Tell her I called, I'll try again tomorrow."

Sometimes, I really wanted to kill that ass hole.....This was definitely one of those times.
