 Title: Chapter 150

This was just too funny. It gave me the laugh I sorely needed today. Poor Evan, it sucks for him for V to think he is sterile, but it was just hilarious.

Grr mediaminer. I had to log in twice to write this review. And I am only partially settled, it will probably months before I have finished finding exactly where I want everything lol. I am glad that Valerie decided to go see her parents. I hope for her sake that they can convince her that they wanted her but were convinced that she was "better off" away from them. Though I do see a possible complication in her being a donor match for her father. That will bring about another round of introspection about what she owes him. I do think that it is telling that Valerie never considers asking Melville to go with her but is comforted by Evan going. I can't wait to see what causes her to realize that Evan is the guy for her. But then he is going to have to explain how he can have children with her. That is going to be an interesting conversation. I look forward to seeing what comes next.

How long was she sitting out there? For some reason, I wouldn't be surprised if she walked... Keep up the good work, dark

I knew V would come to some decision soon about her dad. It will be good to have closure at least. (I'm trying to be better about reviewing)cq

This was a powerful chapter. It's amazing how one little photograph can rip at your heart. There are certain pictures that I have that I can't look at without crying as if the memory instantly hurts like a burn. I think what I loved most about this chapter was getting an inside view of Evan learning how to be her support and realizing what she needed even though it hurt him to do it (i.e. giving her space when he was bursting to be with her). I like when walls come down with people. I think healing can come when you voice your fear sometimes. Thank you for a great chapter with my fav. characters. -Monique

Sorry I haven't reviewed for a while if you have even noticed. I was moving and my reading was put on hold for a while. I loved how Maddy had Evan get out of the blood test I was howling after reading it. It also had the added bonus of making V feel sorry for him. I would find it hilarious if, because he was thinking of V while depositing his sample, he ended up with some swimmers. I doubt it would happen because his youkai wasn't involved but it would still be funny. I am curious if V is going to confront her parents or not. I think she should just to connect with family again and maybe find out that she was loved even if they didn't know how to show it but you know the character best. Evan's support either way should help her out. And you have my support no matter what you decide.

Still, I thought back to Gage and Maddikins teasing Evan, even if it was a front on Maddie's end for V's sake--and total rib-jabbing fun on Gage's end, it was still so funny. That was so funny how she defended him so vehemently and embarassed the hell out of him at the same time. Oh, the things ya go through to protect your heritage. When they finally have "the talk"... LOL! Oh, the laughter just THINKING about it!

I know that Valerie was trying to defend him... but with each word she said, I bet Evan was shrinking a little inside. If those two get mated, Evan will definitely have to sit down and... apologize for lying... That's not really a night that I'm looking forward to. Keep up the good work, dark

First I want to laugh until my sides hurt... then I want to curl up in the fetal position and cry my eyes out. Evan's situation... him having to deal with V thinking he's sterile... Fabulous! ^_^ I think it is entirely funny... especially the bit with Madison and Gage. But the last part... with just V and Evan. It truly makes me want to cry. Her pain is deep and the way you express her pain... it cuts. I love this chapter. I love this fic. Heck I love this entire arc! I can't wait to read the next chapter! ^_^

And, in this case, with Evan’s refusal of the paternity/testing, irritated people irritate people. Her slew of jumbled flashbacks made me near-whimper in a few not-so-pleasant memories of my own. Those times I was scolded, when I was separated from my parents for a while, and cried out for a mother that only saw me once or twice a year…family, yes, but not the parents. I was too young to delve too deeply into it or my feelings—4 or 5, I’d say—but I remember feeling really lonely and anxious and kinda miffed. Damn, V…damn the human need to get answers and the blunders made in that longing. She assumed wrong—that he was wrong on all counts and that his denial equaled guilt—and Evan assumed wrong—that she’d instantly trust him and absolve him easily of a very serious allegation. There’s still a lot of growth to be made on both sides; learning, TRULY, what it means to trust someone? Well, you’re both getting there but, in so many ways, you’re both so damned cynical. Then again, that’s not a slight but an observation. High level attorney in the field she’s in and the genre/type of clients she’s in contact with on a regular, defending/counseling not-so-innocent folks as a norm…and her past doesn’t always make it easy, I’d imagine, to be completely objective to start [I’d imagine, mentally, she’d give her head a good shake and chant a “Professional attorney, Valerie…” mantra to redirect things, but to start, her general biases and overall disillusionment of the human race—or at least pampered, rich, haughty types—make her as bitter and close minded-sounding as she seemed when she first met Evan]. Again, not a slight, but an observation…she’s come a long way. Evan, I guess, is one of those types that knows his innocence in all things and doesn’t give a rip what most folks’ things when he knows just that. He’s a hell-raiser, random, hot-blooded and honest to a fault with most things…at least, that’s what he want the world to think. Sometimes, Sue, the title of this Purity continuation, well, I’m not sure who it applies to more—Evan or V; then again, I’m sure it’s for both of them. Evan’s a complex fellow with a good heart in a business that could trample and crush the good-hearted into so much compost if they let their hearts beat openly on their shoulders. I’m sure he’s learned to don many masks and mannerisms to survive/thrive and become the top-rated rockstar he is. Then again, his cynical/self-protective-ness didn’t just start there, did it? He’s got Daddy issues of his own. Two fragile hearts, starting over, unconsciously drawn to each other and not always strong enough, in themselves, to cope; they’re learning what it means to depend on others, slowly but surely. That’s got to be so scary, to completely open up to someone with open flaws of their own, and trusting, above your base doubts, insecurities, and fears, that they really Do get you as much as you’re starting to believe, even after/during the many hiccups and Freudian slips along the way. I. LOVE. This. The ripping away of walls and excuses and self-constructed securities… I see many tears in the future—oh, any Evan and V may shed a tear or, three, too. As for the A/N, I know you value me as a reviewer—all of us—and, yes, I’m really glad I joined the forum and got to know you and the InuYasha world you lovingly create—better. Plus, it’s often funny as hell in there, alleviating my many woes and stresses over the years—if only for that space in time—when I was really down [like when my custody issues were getting to me and when I thought I had Ovarian Cancer]. So, thank you for being open and available to your fans in that way. I appreciate you for the fi
