InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Unexpected ❯ Giving In ( Chapter 5 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or any of the characters in the Inuyasha cast. In this story, Kisa is not the Kisa from Fruits Basket. I'm just using the name. But the story line in the this story is all my idea, to anyone who may make or have made any similar stories is by coincidence.

Author's Note: PLEASE READ!!!!!!!! Ok, I know it's a little late in the story but Shippo will be coming into the story along with Kilala as the partners in Missing persons. So if it seems a little strange that they're just popping in. I know and I'm sorry. I just forgot about him and when I finally remembered I couldn't find a place for 'em. Sorry.

Chapter Five:

"Hello?" Kagome started the stove as she answered her phone.

"Hey." Bankotsu greeted.

"Oh, hi. What's up?" Souta wasn't home from school yet so she was partially hoping it was him, calling to tell her when he'd be home. But glad to hear her friends voice nonetheless.

"Oh, nothing. I was just calling to make sure you were ok. You seemed a little upset this afternoon."

"I did?" Kagome asked desperately, trying to hide the fact that she was, indeed, upset this afternoon. She knew Inuyasha didn't know it but he'd been pushing her over the edge and the fact that he started getting on her for her age…well, he hit a soft spot. No doubt Bankotsu didn't know this already. Why was she even bothering to hide it?

"Um…well, I guess when you almost made Inuyasha cry…it gave the impression he did something that made you click." The two chuckled. "Oh like…the age thing?"

"Oh, you still remember that huh?" No Kagome, he just forgot everything that's happened to you guys within the past 10 or 12 years in 3.

"Uh, yeah. Did you see the look on his when you left?"

"No, I didn't really want to look at him at the moment." Kagome poured a box of spaghetti on a pot of water. "And besides…I'm sure your exaggerating. I mean, I've been working with a jerk for three weeks and the only expressions I've seen on his face are pissed and tired."

"Yeah well, give it sometime-sooner or later you'll start seeing more." Kagome paused at the double meaning of what he just said. Yeah, like he meant it that way. The back of her head convinced her sarcastically. "Sesshomaru wants to know how you do it, the only time he's ever looked that creeped was when Jakotsu comes to the station."

"You're brother?"

"Yeah."

"What he got to do with him?"

"Well, you remember Jakotsu and that he's-"

"Gay. Yeah, I remember. So what? It's not like he would actual-" Kagome paused as it sunk in. "Oh."
"Yeah."

Kagome laughed as she thought more about this. "What, does he chase him around the building all day?"

Bankotsu hesitated.

"Su?"

Still no answer. Kagome could practically see the hesitation Bankotsu was giving off.

"He does?" Kagome set the pot holders down. "Oh my god! Does he really?"

"Yeah, Inuyasha hates it when he comes over."

"Well, I would too if-" Kagome's mind hit overdrive. Oh. This is going to be good. "Hey, Bankotsu, so think Jakotsu would like to come over to the station for a visit?" She tried to sound as innocent as possible.

Su knew where this was going. " Kagome." Bankotsu tried to sound stern, but…he couldn't help but picture the results of where this was going. He couldn't help but laugh under his breath.

"What? I just want to see him." And see Inuyasha run for his life.

"Uh-huh. Sure you do."

"Awe c'mon. Please. Just ask him to come down. And after that I won't do anything else the moron. Please. Just this once."

Bankotsu didn't seem to waver from her whining. "You know, I thought you were more mature than this Kagome…" she pouted a little. "but I have to admit-he deserves it." They both laughed. But Kagome's happy mood faded as she glanced at the clock. 5:30.

And Souta still wasn't home yet. Bankotsu noticed the sudden pause over the phone. "Kagome? Are you ok?"

"No."

"What? Why? What's wrong?"

"Souta isn't home from school yet."

"Well has he called?"

"No. I shouldn't be worried though. I mean, he's 15. I'll give him until 6 and if-"
Kagome stopped when she heard a door open a shut.

"Souta! You can't possibly think that fighting was going to solve everything do you?" Kisa asked as if appalled.

"Fight?" Kagome walked over by the door. "Souta where have you been. You didn't call. I was going to get worried. Were you in a fight?"

"No, mom."

"Is that him?" Bankotsu asked.

"Yeah. Hey, I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow ok?"

"Yeah. Bye."

Kagome put her phone down.

"A guy from school was bothering him. He kinda got to him." Kisa answered.

"No. He wouldn't leave Kisa alone!" Kagome's brother sounded pretty pissed.

" I told you Souta! I don't even listen to him."

"Doesn't matter." He mumbled.

"Awe." Kagome started. "You were jealous, Souta."

He blushed. "You were?" It really didn't cross her mind? Kagome thought.

When he didn't answer, the girls did an 'awwwwe'.

"Oh god." Souta mumbled.

"Morning!" Kagome walked into the station the next morning with a cheerful mood despite the way she had left the day before. And to be quite honest, she wasn't in the best of moods that morning either until she remembered that Jakotsu was coming over to the station.

She couldn't wait until he got here. Since the first day she started here, Inuyasha had been making it a point to get her in a bad mood. Now…the tables were going to be turned. If her partner thought it was just an empty threat she said stated the other day…oh was in for one hell of a surprise. Kagome smiled as she got herself a cup of coffee.

"What put you in such a good mood?" Sango asked from her desk.

"You'll see…"

"See what?" Miroku came up from behind her. Kagome jumped to face him. He noticed this. Don't worry Kagome. I won't lay a hand on you." She gave him a stern a look before facing Sango again.

"So have you seen Inuyasha or Bankotsu around here yet?"

Kagome dropped her pen and shot her head up from what she was doing. Kagome was asking for Inuyasha. That's not good. They try their hardest to avoid each other. Why would she ask her for Inuyasha?

"No…why?" Sango eyed her.

"No reason. Um…if you see Bankot-EEK!" Kagome jumped. "MIROKU!!!!!"

"What?" he looked at her innocently.

"You won't lay a hand on me huh?" SLAP!!!

Inuyasha walked into the station only to be greeted with a scream. His ears perked up a few seconds before his own head. What the hell…he paced up the hall until he got to wear it was coming from to find Miroku with a red hand print on his face and a pissed off Kagome. Along with all his friends just shaking their heads.

Inuyasha starred at the picture for a second. Seeing what happens almost everyday in this place seemed different. Well it was almost always with Sango instead of Kagome. No. Inuyasha didn't find it quite amusing as he usually did-even with Kagome. What was it?

Jealousy? No. I'm not…NO! There's no way! No fucking way! How would I-how could I-no…she's nothing but a cold-hearted bitch! There's no way. She's another Kikyo. She just like Kikyo…but Kikyo's dad never left her when she was a kid. So? That doesn't matter!…her mom didn't get sick when she was little either…Shut up!

"Oh! Good morning Inuyasha." Rin caught the man off guard. Good. His own thoughts were starting to scar him.

He grunted and headed for his desk. "Inuyasha, you looked distracted." Sesshomaru started.

He shrugged. "What were you staring at just now?" Inuyasha turned when he it didn't sound like his brother or Rin.

"What is this, 20 questions?" he yelled at the red head. Shippo had just started on the force about 2 weeks ago. And was partners with Kilala in missing persons. "Get the hell off my back!"

This sudden attitude did not come unnoticed.

Kagome smirked. "Gee, Inuyasha…you seem a little…uh…uptight. Even for you…so, early in the morning."

He's probably wondering what I might do to him. This is going to be fun…Kagome rested her heard in her hand once she was at her desk.

That's because I'm starting to give in to you…Inuyasha's eyes bulged as he realized what his conscious was telling him. Drop it Dammit! He silently argued with himself. Not until you admit it…he growled.

"Inuyasha?" he jumped in his seat as his partner snapped him out of his own world. "What are you so jumpy about?"

"None of your god damn business!" And with that he rushed out of the room.

Kagome just looked at her friends. They just shrugged, also wondering what was going on.

"Morning guys." Bankotsu entered, barley even grunting.

"Hey…what's wrong you?" Sango spoke for them all.

"My brother. I swear on my mother's grave, that ass is 4-year-old stuck in a 20-year-old's body. I asked if he wanted to see Kagome at the station and he kept me up all night on the phone…especially when he realized it was here. " He fell into the nearest chair.

"Why's that?" Kilala's tiny voice entered the room at Shippo's side. She was probably one of the only woman in Tokyo with blonde hair…that was natural…and with black highlight type strands in her hair. No joke…it was real. She was short and pretty much kept to herself…except for when her friends get involved with something they need help with. And if anyone got in her way…you ran for cover. She didn't have very many friends so she wasn't very social.

The only thing she hadn't been clued on in during the time she's been there was…Jakotsu. And come to think of it, nobody told her about him either. The only way she knew was the fact that she knew him.

The whole lot of friends starred at the partners.

"Oh yeah…that's right. You don't know about Jakotsu and Inuyasha do you?"

"…no…" she was wary.

"Well, you could say Jakotsu…um…likes, Inuyasha."

"What do you mean?" Shippo asked.

"I'M HERRRREEEE!!!!!!!!!" came high pitched voice.
