Somehow, we're always saying “Goodbye”
But I'm the one always analyzing the reasons why
What made we become unbenefitted this time?
I thought we had a love that was nearly sublime
To be full of forgiveness, understanding, compassion
True love has no need to be jealous. A little trust is what I'm askin'
I tried to be there for you but, not to smother, I backed off
You said this time I backed off too much; now look what it has cost
A love that was fulfilling for two souls whose hearts were willing
And all because you couldn't be straight with me on this in the beginning

You've got to know that I love you—you're my greatest inspiration, boo
and that no man could ever touch my heart they way you did…the way you do

At time, I felt your insecurity
it was in vain—you're more to me
But for now, I can't seem to sink it into you mind
That I'm loving you well so I'm saying goodbye another time
And I hope it's not forever. I want our love to last
Just think of both our futures and reminisce on our past

Through the good times and bad times, better or worse
we always made it through `cause we put our love first
Well, if it's meant to me, we'll see and eventually you'll find
saying too many goodbyes can make you lose the love of a lifetime
