Hey Pareathe! I don't even know if you read reviews anymore, but I did see that you logged on recently and I was overjoyed to see that you seem to still be an author! You probably don't remember me, but I reviewed this story when it first came out so many years ago, in fact my last review was on July 07, 2004 23:50 CDT lol. But I have recently joined the military and I find quite a bit of free time on my hands and I found myself searching for old fanfics that I loved and read a long time ago. Oddly enough I think of this story quite a bit, and finally I decided to look for it. And I am so happy I did, because I loved this story so dearly, and I still do, and even more so now that I am older and can truly understand the feelings and emotions protrayed in this story. I read it all again in the last few days at work, and I just have to tell you all over again how wonderful it is. The only thing that I was disappointed about was the "slight" chance that you said there might be a sequel and after all these years there still isn't one :( I imagine that it would be difficult to write one (heck I don't even know where you would begin lol) but just the thought brings a smile to my face. But I just wanted to tell you about how great it was to re-read such a great story. My husband is currently in training to go to Iraq, and with me having so much free time on my hands, I think I may have to start writing again!!! If you are interested in chatting at all, my email is erica.l.johnson@navy.mil. I would be honored to hear from you, and thank you so much again for such an awesome, incredible piece of work ^^

I've read a couple fics before where Goku and Videl were paired together, but nothing ever this good. You've got real talent, and I'm sure that many a review has said that. So I'll just leave it at that. Ciao for now.

I was glad to get a review from you, it gave me the push I needed to get moving and finally review this story. I first read The Ones They Take for Granted a long time ago when I was too shy to leave reviews, so... better late than never, right? *cheesy grin* This story is *awesome.* The first chapter will always be my favorite, but it really worked as a continuation, and I'm so glad you finished it. I love odd couples (okay, okay, I love anything with Goku having sex) and Goku and Videl were just so steamy together. It was gratifying that you didn't turn Gohan into an over-the-top jerk, just a man who couldn't change who he was or truly understand what his wife needed. The division between father and son was heartbreaking for me since I'm such a fan of the Goku+Gohan relationship, but it made for great drama and it worked for the story. I also liked how you portrayed Pan; I absolutely cannot stand GT Pan and find myself screaming "DIE!" at the TV screen at her all the time, but in your story she became a "real" little girl and a sympathetic, likeable character. The ending was rather quiet, but fitting. Videl made her choice, and the cool-down time for everyone to settle and figure things out was necessary. So, I guess basically what I'm saying is, GREAT JOB! This remains as one of my very favorite DBZ het fics.

I really enjoyed this even though I am more into slash. I particularly liked the Goku/Vegeta dynamic which stayed very true to their respective characters, yet giving a hint as to the feelings of friendship that flows beneath the constant sparring. I was also cheering when you gave Goku the right to some intelligence. Yay. And I am guessing it was no huge surprize to Vegeta either. Anyway, its been awhile since you finished this but since I just read it I wanted to let you know it found another fan.

That was fantastic!! I'd beg for a sequeal but I know first hand how hard it is to continue a work when there is major lack of time. Yet, this honestly doesn't need one. It stands great by itself! Wonderful job. Now I'm going to have to check out your other works.

My God! This was the most intense fanfic i ever read. I was at the edge of chair every single minute during the two days i took reading it all at once. And also i had a moisture in my eyes that kept blurring my vision every now and then. I had to stop by and give you my congratulations even if it's been a while since you finished this fic, which I've found just because i had gone to your profile to send you a message about your Goku/Trunks story "Claim of Princes" asking for the links and the plans for the future. I'm really glad i gave this one a chance or else i would have missed one of the stories i enjoyed reading the most these last few months. Still didn't read any of your other stories, but if they are anything similar to "Claim of princes"(which i love) and "The Ones They Take For Granted" (i've become a fan of Goku/Videl now) i sure have to read them. And if you decide to write an epilogue to this one, let us know ok? Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to put pressure on you to write more, i'm saying this just because what you said in your last authors note. You left an opening for it and you are aware of it, so i decided to let you know i'll read if you decide to write, but i might add that this was the best ending you could come up with. Great is the word for the fic, the pairing, the end, the musics youchose...everything.Kitkat(vegoksaiyan@yahoo.com.br)PS: BTW, could you send me the link to "The Kakarotto Timeline" also? I wanna read it even if it's not finished.

OMG!!! I was looking all over for this thing! I found it on one site, but it was never updated. I'm so glad to have found the end. And it's just so sad and so well done and now I'm going to have to read it again from the beginning and I can't believe how much I loved this story. I didn't even want to read it the first few times I came across it. I swore I wouldn't even look at it b/c I'm a die-hard Gohan/Videl fan, but once I did, I realized that this is such a great story that it makes you forget about that and get wrapped up in what is a beautiful, tragic and heartfelt love story. Please write a sequel.

OMG!!!!! I am SO happy right now...do you know how long I have waited to read THIS!? I was reading it at the lemonade stand (by gokusgirl), and I was waiting forever and ever and ever for you to update! And then i happened to stumble upon someone else's website that mentioned this story on here. I ALMOST DIED. I am so happy...that after two years I have finally been able to finish reading this story. It was absolutely incredible...I loved it with every ounce of my soul. I did cry a little bit, right when Goku told Videl he loved her, but that was it. Anyhow...yes, I demand that you write a sequel. i don't care HOW many things you have going on right now...find time! You will leave me completely disappointed if you don't...and I don't want that at all! I shall check out your website, and if you want to or anything, you can email me at girl_that_is_sexy@hotmail.com. I would really enjoy that! And once again, this story was a glorious, excellent piece of artwork. It was incredible in every way, shape, and form. You are a beautiful writer, and I hope that someday soon you will make a sequel...it would mean so much to me! Thank you again, Pareathe, for finishing this story!

Wow. Has it really been two years? When I first started reading this fanfic, I was looking for a creative and unique pairing. Videl X Goku was it. I did a search on ff.net for a super long fic (the longer usually means the better written), and there it was. The rest is history. The writing just blew me away! At first it was just the best written NC17 fic out there, and then gradually, as the tone of the story changed to a romance, it became one of my favorite fanfics, bar none. You had an amazing story/plot that just kept me craving for the next chapter. It was poignant and strong with excellent characterization. It really made me understand their thinking... Now that its over, with a sweet ending too, I just want to thank you for putting such effort into your work and I look forward to any other fanfics you care to write. You're an awesome author! dlord21 PS: And though I don't see the possibility for a sequel, I can see a happy epilogue chapter concerning Goku's return. The story however doesn't really need it though...

Bravo!! Yes, it was sad as hell. But I agree with you that it was the best way to end it while keeping them in character. I was really glad they got to share that one final kiss though. Sweet! I'll miss looking forward to new chapters for this story but I know it had to end sooner or later. It's enough knowing that one day, they'll be together. Great job, Pareathe!

Oh Gods what a fic! What a wonderful fic! *Sighs* I am sorry to see it over. In a way, I would like to see a small epilogue -- that is the romantic in me. But the story ended the way it needed to be ended not necessarily the way I wanted things to end. Lovely. Beautiful. Heart-wrenching. Can I gush enough? Probably not. I am glad that this is up on Gems and the BluEyedMnster kept us appraised of the updates. I am looking forward to your other fics and now I get to go read your orginal works. See you online and on the lists. Again what an absolutely wonderful story. Now if I can just convince my roommate to read it. ^_^

Not a sequel...but an epilogue? Could that please be a possiblity it would be the greatest thing in the entire world, it doesn't have to be long and overly detailed just short and simple or however you want it. Your story was amazing, and no doubt the best written, most creative story I have ever read. Please consider an epilogue it would so entirely be appreciated. But all said and done....thank you for writing this story, I enjoyed every word. And will more than likely reread it a billion times even though I already have.
