What a great intimate moment, showing InuYasha and Kagome's loving commitment to each other...and that mysterious voice...But what a battle scene, and what a great Kagome to the rescue! Bad guys, don't threaten her InuYasha...amazing what the price she can make the bad ones pay who do that! Great work, well worth waiting for!

Wow! Two chapters! I wondered how long it would be before Kagome realized she is partly to blame for Shippou's selfishness. He hasn't been anything but a spoiled brat who wants her to himself. He really hasn't appreciated InuYasha like he should have for saving him and taking care of him. And she now knows that his behavior has hurt InuYasha more than she realized. It is going to take the brat a long time to unlearn some of the bad habits he's gotten into. And what a story of the battle! I'm sure it will have importance in something coming up - especially considering InuYasha's reaction to it. It sounds like he may know more than he wants to regarding the Child of Light and the Child of Dark. And it is also a big step for him to let Garion know about his mortal night. That shows a large amount of trust in him, which doesn't come easily for Inuyasha. And I don't know what I did to have a chapter dedicated to me, but I'm honored! And this was one of my favorite chapters so far! So, Kagome now knows that InuYasha either has an invisible friend or is hearing voices. At least she knows questioning him about it will probably upset him, and if the voice is telling him to ask Garion about him it's probably not a bad guy - and at least he said out loud he wasn't one of the Gromlins. After their last encounter with voices, she has to be concerned about who's invading InuYasha's head this time. And then the transformation and their lovemaking. It was so tender and sweet this time, and InuYasha finally sort of grasps that concept. It figures it was too good to last, and they'd be interrupted. I don't know when the last time my heart pounded so hard when reading a story. I could almost feel Kagome's fear trying to find him without giving herself away and getting caught. When Kagome found Tessaiga, I just knew that InuYasha was the one they had. I wanted to scream at her "Don't leave - they've got him!" and fortunately she found it was him before it was too late. Just as in the manga, her power is the strongest and manifested itself when someone she loves, especially InuYasha, is in danger or has been hurt. The priest and his followers got exactly what was coming to them, and they'll not sacrifice another human again. I was so glad she purified the lot of them - they may not have been demons but they were pure evil. It also gave her an inkling of her real power since she always seems to doubt herself. I'm glad she didn't when it came to saving her mate. And now that raises another question - who else knows that InuYasha is mortal the night of the new moon? Was it just this bunch, or is there another lot of them that knows as well and may try again? Is he now in danger even more than usual each time, or did his secret die with all of them? I'd feel kind of bad for him if Kagome had to recruit Sesshomaru or anyone else to help protect him each new moon after what happened this time. I'm also still wondering about the fate of Miroku and the others. Where are they? what are they up to? I'm sure you'll tell us soon enough. Anyway, this was a real pleasure to wake up and find in my inbox this morning. Wonderful job and I can't wait to see what will happen next!

Seems to me that InuYasha has done some maturing since the start of this tale, and it is to the good! Having been a step-parent of kids who had had a tragedy of violently losing a parent, and know first hand how it can mess up a kid when he is overindulged in sympathy, I can really empathize with InuYasha about Shippou...that rung home with me....sigh. But what a great story within a story! (something you know I am rather fond of myself ;) )I really enjoyed Kagome's reaction to the telling, as well as Kagome and InuYasha's interaction. Since I never read the story you crossed over with, I found the back story interesting in its own right, and watching the interplay was really a kick. Good job!

Oh wow! I finally read this whole thing and I absolutely loved it! I'm a fan of this series, so when I saw the title of this fic, and what it was about I knew I had to read it. I swear it's like reading one of the books! You've got the characters down pat...and I love how you've characterized the Inuyasha characters...they blend so well with Garion and the others. I really love this and can't wait to read more!

[They cut my rambling in half again . . .] *continued* . The only real loose ends seem to be Miroku and Sango, but all in good time - they're not Youkai, and so obviously it'll take them a bit longer to fall into place. Kirara might be able to help them there. Shippo's canine Youkai, so it's all natural for him, and Kagome and Rin though human, have the advantage of their close relationship with their respective Inuyoukai to get a grasp of it. It's really interesting to see this group dynamic evolving, slowly but surely. I greatly look forward to more. Top marks for this instalment, my dear. A lot of significant developments actually happened here in the simple guise of one day in the life of a fox runt. This has gotta be one of the more remarkable chapters. =D You go, girl. And by the way, sweetheart . . . A very Merry Christmas to you, and I wish you every happiness for the coming year. ^_^ It's a pleasure to be amongst such talented folk as yourself.

[Journey chap. 71] Wow . . . Gosh, sorry the review's so late sweetie, it's been a crazy month . . . Alright, so down to business. *rubs hands together* Hmm, there's something really sweet about hearing things from the angle of one of the younger members of the cast . . . It sort of simplifies things for a chapter, gives us a respite of sorts from the action; but you actually get an insight of a different sort. It was nicely done. Also nice to see some interaction between Shippo and a number of characters he hasn't really mixed with yet; I really liked the dialogue between him and Polgara, actually. She's got a real kind of matriarch dynamic, hasn't she? She can be a mother hen type without being too soft or overbearing. I think you've balanced that in her. No messing with that lady. =D Wow, I never saw this coming! And yet it actually makes perfect sense - Sesshomaru, being the only "real" demon of the group if you will, would make an ideal mentor for the young Kitsune! Sometimes you kind of forget that Shippo is in fact a full demon, and as powerful as Inuyasha is, there are some things he couldn't pass on to his adopted son because he's really in a middle ground all his own, being a Hanyou, kind of like having one foot in each camp but not settled fully in either the human or the demon base. It'd be great if he could do so, but Sesshomaru's certainly the next best thing - I mean, when you think about, he's actually kind of Shippo's adopted "uncle" now! XD Just don't mention that to either of them . . . I think we're really starting to see an evolution in Shippo's personality and his relations with the others. He's coming to terms with his new place as Inuyasha's and Kagome's adopted son, even though it's clear there's still a lot he has to acclimatize to. But what marks the change is that he's trying. He's not just being a stubborn little brat anymore; he seems to understand now that kind of attitude isn't going to change anything, and only create difficulties for the people who really care for him. It seems to be sinking in for him that Kagome and Inuyasha are truly happiest together as mates, and he's making an effort to adjust. I like this characterisation for him; he does seem like the kind of kid who'd have a hard time coming to terms with such change. And that tickling scene in the beginning was just plain adorable; it was so sweet to see them acting as an actual family for the first once. I wonder what Inu's thoughts on it were? I'm curious how strong the paternal instinct is in him. He seemed genuinely hurt when the kit ran his tongue off this time. By the way, [having read over the last couple of chapters] you also seem to have subtly pointed out the natural propensity the dog demons display for physicality - I've noticed it's evident with both Inuyasha and his brother. Just as it is with dogs, it seems ingrained in them too - they like to be active, to use all available senses, and physical play and contact is a very important part of that nature - for wellbeing and peace of mind. Like the mud-fight between the two Inu's and their girls for instance, and the tickling match of this chapter. Inuyasha and Kagome fairly crave physical contact; likewise with Sesshomaru and Rin - in fact you sorta get the sense that's a part of the Taiyoukai's nature he's repressed for a long time up til recently. But that instinct goes hand in hand also with the Pack nature, and I think we're starting to see the beginnings of a Pack structure here too. They really are coming closer together.
