Good update! I think I like Daitaro even more now, LOL. And you also made a very good point about Kaede, she might not have had all the details and knew specifically about Naraku's birth, but she did know that Onigumo's cave was empty, and I'm sure she could sense the evil that had happened there. Plus we also know she was contemplating how Inuyasha could have such a peaceful expression if he had truly been such a monster. You also make a good point about her not just going from little girl to old lady, and that at one point she was a beautiful young woman. I don't know if she necessarily had a crush on Inuyasha, LOL, but maybe for a few years there, and I definitely agree with the idea that she felt it was her duty to watch over him. She probably told the others it was to check on the strength of the seal, and that it was forbidden to go there for fear of him getting loose and harming anyone, but that was just a rumor to keep people away for his safety, I'm sure. He was definitely vulnerable to attack while he was pinned, so the best way to keep the villagers away is to make sure they feared him and thought he might possibly pop awake at any moment. Of course Daitaro never feared him, and I would believe that Kaede might have even known about Daitaro sneaking off there, but since she also knew he meant the hanyou no harm she let it slide.

I really, really like Daitaro, LOL. I also liked how you showed Inuyasha maturing, in that even though his comment about the mushrooms still embarrassed him he actually managed to answer the old man instead of bopping him on the head or cursing or even saying 'feh.' And hey, if Inuyasha is Daitaro's bull catcher well then there you go, perfectly good reason to be nice to the guy he'll need to fetch his bull, LOL. Like I said, I like Daitaro. Good update, as always. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. :-)

LOL, cute update. Glad they were able to get Shippou to agree to stay home; that was funny, if Shippou has to go then everyone has to go. And I don't think they were fooling the kitsune for a second, but at least he agreed to stay behind. Even though they were just trying to make him feel useful waiting at the village, Miroku did raise a good point, because hypothetically if something happened, then Shippou really is the only option for a messenger. Besides that, he would be horribly underfoot while they're trying to take care of a nasty cat that's even bigger than Kirara, and without blowing it up to boot so that they can take its tail. The last thing they'd need to worry about is trying to keep tabs on Shippou during the ruckus, especially if it really is the same bakeneko who would be especially displeased to see a kitsune. All in all, wonderful update, as always. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. :-)

Awww...sweet and charming, as always. I love how your updates just seem so real. Nothing major has to happen at all, it's just Sango and Kagome sitting around talking while working on their sewing. You made some good points, too, reiterating how Sango is almost just as weird in the village as Kagome, for being a taijiya married to a monk. A miko from the future married to a hanyou trumps Sango in the weird category just a bit I'd say, but like Kagome said Sango does understand, and they each now have that one special person to talk to that they truly need in their lives. I also like that you mentioned briefly that Kagome did tell her school friends something, because she really would have kind of had to since they were there at one point when the well had vanished and knew that something magical and mysterious was going on. Lovely job. Looking forward to the next update. :-)

Good update, as always. Wasn't expecting Shippou to show up, LOL. Poor Inuyasha, if it's not one thing it's another. Although I guess it was meant to be since he was supposed to ask her about going over to Sango and Miroku's. And poor Hiseo, though at least he'd been warned that there was a kitsune that came around from time to time. Wonder what would've happened if Ryou saw him. Ah well, no matter. Looking forward to the next update, as always. :-)

Awww...that was a cute ending, as they started talking about battling dead trees, LOL. They can be sneaky indeed; I speak from personal experience. But besides that, good job on the rest of the chapter, too. No way was Inuyasha going to tell Miroku that he'd interrupted anything more than lunch, LOL. And Kagome staying with Sango makes perfect sense. I'm sure Sango could use help with the kids, anyway, like you said, and if all's quiet on the front then Kagome can get more sewing lessons; either way she won't be at the house alone and that's a good thing. Looking forward to the next chapter. :-)

Poor Inuyasha is so worried about leaving Kagome alone. And rightfully so! I'm personally so worried that I'm going to come back for one of the next few chapters, and you're going have something bad happen to Kagome! But then again, maybe not! Can't wait to find out! :)

Lovely update, as always. I didn't even think about those herbs possibly bothering Inuyasha, but I bet that was true because there's no reason for him to lie like that if it weren't true. And I'm glad to see that even he knows he can't turn down the exorcism trip now that he knows how severe it is. A part of him still doesn't want to go because he doesn't want to leave Kagome, naturally, but that's his job and he's got to go to work, all there is to it. I'm glad Kagome didn't have to tell him to do it; she had already changed him even before the manga ended to genuinely care about the welfare of other people. And though she'll miss him, especially if he does end up having to stay the night, she would never in a thousand lifetimes tell him not to go on a slaying trip with Miroku when innocent lives are at stake. Beautiful chapter. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. :-)

I just want to let you know how very much I am enjoying this story. I love your writing style and your ability to naturally take off from the end of the series and transition into your own plot and narrative is beautiful. As a side note, I must say that I am very excited for Kagome to find out she's pregnant at some point. I hope that you plan on including babies in this story, but if you don't I understand, it's your story. Wonderful chapter as always and I look forward to many more.

Wise old Kaede, hitting the nail on the head like that regarding Inuyasha's behavior. And I loved Hiseo's ultimate decision on the matter; so long as they save his sister they can be as weird as they want, LOL. I found Ryou's reaction to be fairly realistic as well. He can't hide his surprise, but then he bit his tongue and said nothing derogatory. At least not in the presence of the miko. I could see him perhaps whispering something questioningly to Miroku once those two are alone, but still most likely from a place of surprise and curiosity. Something like 'He's your partner? Really?' before shaking it off and also accepting that Miroku can be as weird as he wants so long as he and his partner get the job done. It would simply not be his place to say anything negative about it while he is the guest in their village and he is seeking their aid. I like that you showed that, specifically, that he looked around and saw that both miko were okay with Inuyasha's presence and so he knew not to say anything, that for whatever reason it must be accepted in their eyes. It's not like Inuyasha wandered into his village just out of the blue, not to play hero. And Ryou didn't catch the part about him being married to Kagome, but that wouldn't be any of his business to disrespect, either. If they were to wander into a different village, those strange villagers would have a right to protest that they want no such couple within their borders, but it would simply not be proper to complain openly about the way a village you are visiting handles things. Very realistic for the culture and time period. Bravo! Can't wait to see what happens next! :-)

And so it starts! Now Inuyasha won't be able to pussyfoot around any more about whether or not he should leave Kagome alone to go on the extermination trip. Now that she's seen the poor sick girl and knows that others are sick as well and will ultimately die without assistance, she'll probably make Inuyasha go even if he still doesn't want to, LOL. Awesome update, as always. Keep it up. :-)

Good update, as always. I'm really getting into this, just like a good soap opera! Today in the lives of... LOL. I wonder if Chojiro will be willing to make the boards. I'm sure he wouldn't personally mind it, if Kinjiro knows he doesn't think badly of Inuyasha, but doing a lot of work for Joben could complicate matters because surely Chojiro won't want to upset his primary employer. That's a tough position they might be putting Chojiro in, especially if he thinks nothing of it at first and gladly does the job only to find out afterward that Joben is displeased with him. Guess we'll find out how that all goes later. Interesting new development with those two kids approaching them at the end there. You never shared this little upcoming detail with me you sneaky author you! Is the girl sick? Was the boy taking her to Kaede's? Guess I'll find out soon enough, but I'm super looking forward to it! :-)

Awww...what a sweet chapter! So glad to see that family likes Kagome as well and doesn't dislike Inuyasha. And speaking of the hanyou, that 'touch' scene at the beginning was funny, where she busted him trying to steal pickles, LOL. Good job as always. Looking forward to the next installment. :-)

End scene, LOL. Nicely done! I really liked how that 'touch' scene came out. And I just noticed something which, knowing you, you have to be fully aware of and are consciously doing it on purpose. Kagome bathes first. Inuyasha tends to her needs, allowing her to bathe first. How sweet! At first in this chapter I just figured he was giving her a bath and that was that, but then he got in *after* her, oh the scandal! I wonder if it has even dawned on either of them, what with Kagome being from modern times and Inuyasha being Inuyasha. But that's probably it right there, Inuyasha is being Inuyasha, and he simply doesn't give a rat's ass about how those kinds of things are supposed to work. Beautiful, sneaky little detail to demonstrate just how much Kagome actually means to him. In our American world of 'ladies first' most people probably wouldn't even notice that oddity. Heck it took me a moment for it to click, LOL. Kudos! :-)

I like Daitaro, LOL. And though Inuyasha might not have caught on to exactly what he was talking about what with the effects of time and that there's nothing actually wrong with Chime, it's understandable that somebody not affected by time in that same manner wouldn't automatically realize what the guy was talking about. I love how Daitaro called him 'old young one'...that seems highly appropriate. Of course, it wasn't Daitaro's intention to bum Inuyasha out with regard to Kagome growing old, but luckily for Inuyasha that won't be a problem anyway, LOL, even though nobody knows it yet. And that sly smile...LOL. Inuyasha might not have gotten the 'passage of time' thing right away, but he certainly understood what Daitaro was hinting at with regard to those mushrooms, ;-)
