Finally had a chance to read this one. Good update! Tricky Miroku, making those vows but not vowing when he'd accomplish those tasks, LOL. In a religion that totally embraces reincarnation, then it doesn't even have to be in this lifetime, LOL. Hopefully this'll be a good day for Chime and the wedding in general. I think Miroku coming over to do a blessing later is a good idea. They could use all the good luck and blessings they can get, after the week the village has had. Great little splash of Inu/Kag heat at the end there, too. Good morning, indeed! Good job, as always. I'm definitely looking forward to the next update.

Good chapter, good update. I can understand why Inuyasha doesn't want to go to that place, and I also understand why he'll pretty much have to. Doubt he's told Miroku the real reason why he doesn't like it, and has only mentioned the smell, and so of course the monk will trap him into it, not really aware of the deeper emotional issues. Nice to see that Sesshoumaru was looking out for his little brother, at least when he had to. If the brat starved to death 'cause he was too weak or stupid to fend for himself, well then that's what he gets, but being murdered by a monk, that wouldn't have been fair, so I can see why Sesshoumaru would interfere, even with his skewed logic of not really wanting to have anything to do with Inuyasha. Even though Inuyasha's existence was an insult to their father's blood (in his eyes) letting a human kill him would have been a much bigger insult, for sure. The tender Inu/Kag moment was nice. Also liked him talking to Kazuo at the end there. Must be nice living in a village where the resident god actually exists and has shown up to say hi on occasion, LOL. You don't see that in very many mythologies. Greek, maybe a handful of others. I love the lore of Japanese kami. I love Kazuo specifically, LOL. He's a kooky old man. Maybe that is where Daitaro gets it from, LOL.

Good update. Nice to see things ticking along and the evening in the village winding down and coming to a close. Eiji being tired made me tired, LOL, or maybe that's just my new sleep cycle catching up with me. It is nearing my new bedtime, but I just had to squeeze in reading this update first. :-)

Can't blame Kagome for feeling homesick, especially now while she's so exhausted and things have been so crazy. It's all crashing down on her, but she'll get over it. If not, Inuyasha will make her feel better, I'm sure, and remind her why she left her old life behind. This was a good little update. Nice to see Aki's tired of trouble and is going to behave himself from now on. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. :-)

Finally got a chance to read this latest update. Nicely done, of course, as always. Things are ticking along right on schedule, it seems. If it were me, I'd totally just let Seiji stay in the lockup the next day. He'll be spitting mad when he wakes up, not to mention sick with his hangover, and who'd want to deal with that mess on what's supposed to be an auspicious day for the wedding? And they should really decide what needs to be done with Seiji before just up and letting him out, anyway, which will involve a village meeting, Tameo's already acknowledged, so all the more reason to let it wait another day. That was a lovely scene with Miroku and Kimi at the end there. Alas, but humans are not perfect, so yes, sometimes we need to offer ourselves compassion and forgive ourselves our anger, when we experience it, because we are just as flawed as any other we'd seek to offer compassion toward. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. :-)

Wow, that was good luck, for everyone involved, including Okuro, LOL. I can imagine the type of songs they meant by Kagome's reaction, and no, I don't think the father of the bride should be singing those types of songs at his own daughter's wedding, LOL. Looks like things are coming along nicely. I bet leaving Aki with Choujiro won't be a problem, if he's taken to wood work and wants to watch him make boards. I agree that Aki seems to have done a 180, in most ways at least. Even if for the most part he's just biting his tongue and toughing it out in order to get to see his grandma, that's still motivation nonetheless to behave and not cause trouble, but honestly I think it's more than that. He's actually had a real wake-up call. More than one. Definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next. Hope you feel better soon!

Dang it, Naoya, LOL. Ah well, that's life with a baby. Lovely recap of all that's happened this morning, in story time. I'm glad Sango's gotten filled in on everything she missed. Enjoy your mini-vacation! I look forward to the next update, whenever it gets posted.

Let's hear it for hanyou senses and reflexes, boy. I'd much rather be suddenly yanked up into a tree with no forewarning than trampled by a horny bull, LOL. That was good of Inuyasha, to volunteer to help. Sure, he already knew Daitaro would've probably asked him anyway, but Daitaro wasn't there at the time and seeing the condition Shinjiro's in, Inuyasha knew it wouldn't be right to make him go after the bull. Especially since Shinjiro hurt himself cutting Inuyasha's wood. Not that his injury is Inuyasha's fault in any way, but a favor for a favor seems fair. And maybe Kagome can ask Chime about some of the surviving unidentified herbs in her basket, taking care of her sense of unfinished business from not having gotten to ask Kaede. Whatever happens in the next chapter, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it. :-)

LOL, I can just see Kagome's face. All the craziness happening all over, everyone leaving, telling her to leave, Kaede went back inside, and she's still standing there, confused, holding her herbs, going "But..." LOL. Give it up, Kagome, and take the extra day off! Shinjiro's mood seems normal, all things considered, but I agree with Daitaro, especially with Inuyasha and Kagome attending the wedding no evil spirits will dare interfere. In a world where bad luck and superstitions are very much real, it definitely comes in handy being friends with the local vanquishers of evil. Good job, as always. Looking forward to the next update, as always. :-)

Looks like Kagome won't get to ask Kaede about those herbs, after all. Can't say I blame Kaede for wanting to just go back in and shut herself out after all that craziness. At least Kagome's got some things that she knows the identity of for sure, like that wild mustard she can use in her cooking, and the rest of the stuff I guess she can just sort and sit out to dry properly and Kaede should still help her verify their identities later even after they're dried. And I can definitely understand Kagome's frustration with the whole thing, not the herbs but the rest of it, wanting to stop the elders from passing any kind of judgement on Seiji because she's not hurt but not having the ability to stop whatever judgement they might decree regardless of her condition. Maybe they will decide that Inuyasha decking Seiji was good enough, or then again, maybe they won't. Looks like Sukeo's got a lot to think about, too, rolling it around in his head how Inuyasha didn't kill his father when he very easily could have, and how he knows his father wouldn't have shown the same courtesy if their roles had been reversed. And poor Maeme; it's not easy being a woman in that time period where your husband does have the legal right to beat you if he sees fit. That was the way it was in a lot of cultures until laws were finally put into place to protect the women, in some places not even that long ago - and of course in some places there are still no such protective laws and the women are still at the mercies of their husbands, but in Maeme's case, even though her husband is technically within his rights at least the majority of the village can see how utterly unfair that situation is, how she's not truly a disobedient wife who needs discipline (somebody currently living by the river comes to mind, LOL) and so even though they don't have to, the villagers know it's in all of their best interests to lock up Seiji when he gets like this and at least try and spare Maeme the worst of her bruises. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next! :-)

I think this update went splendidly. Glad to see that everyone had positive reactions to Inuyasha decking Seiji, not that I expected for even a moment that anyone would have had a problem with it, LOL. Good thing their village has a lock-up. I guess you'd have to, even for a community that small. If not, then the very first time somebody decided to be a troublemaker you'd soon realize oh crap, we need to build one, LOL. I would not want to be anywhere near Seiji when he wakes up, but like Susumu said, that's what they get paid for. That was really awesome that they didn't make Inuyasha work 'off the clock' as it were, too. Doesn't matter that he's the super-human with immeasurable strength. It's not his shift, therefore, not his duty at that moment in time to haul the drunkard off to the lock-up. He's an equal in their eyes, not a human ox the villagers can just take advantage of to do their heavy lifting and what have you at the drop of a hat. And I know he doesn't want to get involved, but Seiji did shove his wife, in front of enough witnesses, and more than a husband choosing not to seek retribution for an assault on his wife like that, Kagome is their new village miko, and so therefore the elders have the right to seek retribution themselves because she's a holy member of their community. An attack on her is an attack on everyone, or at least everyone in Tameo's Ko, since she's part of the family. Inuyasha as the husband has the most right, of course, but even still, Tameo will be within his rights to do whatever he sees fit, with Kagome being his Ko and their village miko and such. Not that I imagine what Seiji did is worthy of too much punishment, but I don't know how successful just telling him to stay away from Inuyasha is going to be when we know he's also supposed to stay away from Michio and he strolled right up to their house and caused trouble, completely disregarding the elders' orders. This should be interesting, the progression of trouble that is Seiji, LOL. In the meantime, though, with him currently sleeping it off courtesy of Inuyasha, looks like the next few chapters will probably take us back to the other scenes and other events that are currently happening. Can't wait! :-)

Go Inuyasha! I'd have clocked him one, too, stupid bastard. Can't really think of a long-winded review this time around, LOL, but I loved the update, as always, and as always I'm looking forward to the next one. :-)

Poor Sukeo, looks like his head is wired with mixed signals. He obviously cares for his mother; instead of his father's harsh treatment of her rubbing off to the point where he also has no respect for his mother, he looks ready to protect her from his father if push literally came to shove. Yet, at the same time, growing up in that kind of an environment is clearly rubbing off on him because of the way he treated and talked to Tazu. I think it comes down to respecting his elders, and Tazu is just some girl who's younger than him, and so in his mind he becomes the older man and therefore has the right to push her around, and she did start it, sort of, by saying those mean - and true - things about his father, so then he felt he had to save face. Honor and all that. But his mother is his mother. So glad to see he cares for her, and deep down, he obviously knows what a serious threat his father really is when he gets like that. It's a good thing Shippou was frantically looking for Tazu, and that Miroku spotted Shippou and went with him. That was one disaster averted, although it looks like there's another disaster already in progress since Seiji is still out there, still pissed (by both the American and British definition), and bound to realize his wife and older son have gone missing sooner or later. Looks like things are about to get interesting again. Can't wait!

I finished chapter 188 just in time to catch the new one! what good timing! I loved this story so very much, the detail is incredible, and so much can be said from day to day activity. Beautiful.
